Moving the NWN2 forums here is a great opportunity to allow NWN2 players and (especially) builders easier communication and cooperation. Right now all NWN, NWN2 and even Mass Effect projects are stacked in the NWN category. This has to change and I would really like the social site to be as friendly towards NWN 1/2 users as it is for those who own Dragon Age.

Do you mean being able to upload created characters as well? I think that would be great I would love to upload my Half-elf  storm lord class!

It is depending on how you build your character. I recommend using basics first and doing a little research on character development. Don't look up story aspects. Just character development. Trust me it helps a lot especially against certain enormous bosses. WOOH! They don't play in that game!

Since the NWN2 forums will be going away and the NWN2 forum community will be moving here, it would be a nice addition to be able to use the Social Site tools for NWN2 projects.  This would serve two main purposes that I see:

• It would give the builders one more way to highlight to the NWN2 community what they are doing.
• It would also link those projects to the larger Bioware community, thereby increasing exposure for those projects and the NWN2 game itself.  Something that is sorely needed, IMO.

Having a NWN2 (and a ME for that matter) catagory will do nothing to detract from the NWN2 community listing projects on the Vault.  I personally would list my Jabberwocky project in both places for maximum exposure.

There's currently an NWN project underway by the DAO game Modders.

Adding a projects section here will just duplicate what we already have with the vault, which means double the work for modders to maintain their content and double the work for users to check for the most recent content available.

The people could have a quick summary here of what they have and then have the link to go to the vault to show more info and screenshots of their projects.

Would that work?

I'll second third this suggestion. I mean, they have 10 DA catagories and one NWN catagory. To clog up that single NWN catagory with everything else is not good. I'd much rather see module, custom content and maybe plugin/application categories for both NWN and NWN2, and even at least one catagory for BG (you could have separate BG1 and BG2 ones, but given the BG-TuTu/Trilogy-BG2 transparency, there's probably no real need). An ME one would probably be good too.
This projects thingy looks kinda neat, but I'm put off using it if there isn't a category for what I want to put there.

I think we're going to have to live with these forums as is. These threads have not resulted in any action to date as far as I can tell. If the administrator(s) can't fix a simple typo in the name of a forum for whatever reason (time, effort, knowledge, workload, etc), the likelihood of them providing us with anything more appear next to nil.

We'd have certainly gotten more mileage from a community administered forum, like the citadel for instance, over the red-headed step-child treatment we're destined to get here.

How long have you guys been over here? Less than a week, and they probably haven't had time to analyze the impact of adding new catagories to Social Projects yet.

Yeah, come on Cipher, give them a chance. Though I definitely appreciate the 'vote' of support for the Citadel, I honestly think that the larger population of gamers, modders, builders, developers (in the plugin and external tools sense) and passersby is better served by being here (much as I don't really like the layout of the forums) rubbing elbows with a much larger crowd and possibly causing more folks that otherwise wouldn't have given NWN or NWN2 a second glance, just that.

Meanwhile, let me trundle off to the Moderator Forums and see what kind of fit I can pitch to get some changes made.

I think you got most of the big ones DNO, although i whould also like to be able to register my NWN and NWN2 games,  but thats not a huge deal.  Also another nice feature whould be differnt color icons on topics or threads when there's a new post since your last visit (like most forums do).

List submitted with a few additions. About registering games. Mmm. That's a battle for another day, I think. I'd really like to get a Signatures List again, too, come to think. Totally forgot about that one. I've got like 30 siggys for different occasions, reasons and variety's sake. I'm sure gonna miss those. I think it would be nice if we could at least claim which games we own in some sort of under avatar appearing spot. If we can't register them, at least we can wear them like a badge. That'd be sufficient in most cases for non-EA games. Agree, disagree? Thoughts? Breath mint?

As far as duplication of resources, I don't think that's an issue as I plan to only link to my module vault entry under the files section of the project page.

I agree with the game registration. I've registered my other games with the old sites, but I would love to show off the fact I own NWN2 and Maybe show the characters and builds I've created. The idea of a badge is very good. They could just put it under the game section. I mean it would be that hard. Just give the code for the pc registry and they could let us have it.  Now the same feature for your character or avatar. I think it would be a lot harder. They could probably do something like DA:O character creator upload, but I don't know because I don't think EA and Bioware have the linenses for it, but I would love to do it anyway.
