I'm guessing you'll also understand while a relatively small area, a wider array of range threats, and a dwindling Oil of Speed stock is giving me pause on the Abazigal/Tamah encounter.
I'm not sure when that main event is going to occur. As mentioned, I'm not entirely thrilled with Ashoka's potion supply at the moment. I'm thinking of sending her over to Sendai's in the hope of scoring some Oils of Speed. In the alternative, she may grab Haer Daelis (or Jan) and head into Watcher's Keep.
The irksome thing is I'm none-to-pleased with either option from a story perspective. I should have got Haer Daelis Alchmey at Watcher's Keep before initiating the ToB storyline. Next time.
Best,
A.

Poor lizards... they looks so hopeless in you run... Best of luck with the remaining ones! [smilie]http://social.bioware.com/images/forum/emoticons/happy.png[/smilie]
Update of BlackStrider & Co (first steps in ToB)
The skirmish with Ilasera was colorfull but easy one. Then we appeared in our Pocket Plane, where we chat a little with Solar, revived Sarevok (need someone to look after the place while we are absent), made some crafting with Cespenar and took our first challenge. In Saradush we completed all available quests and made some shopping. Vampires in the Prison were no threat (BlackStrider's level is high enough to *explode* them) and then we made some sewer's cleaning (not afraid the *dirty* work):

Against Gromnir BlackStrider hit with Sequencer: Malison-Emotion-Telefield (Gromnir is *out* as well as two more buddies) spiced up with 2 Webs, Insect Plague, Fire Storm, Cloud Kill, 2 Abi-Dalzim's Horrid Wiltings and some ranged firepower. Only Mazzy took a couple of arrows and Viconia made a final *blow*:

Onto the Marching Mountains.
to be continued...

My recent solo runs have helped me work out how to counter key opponents in BG1, tempted to do the same in BG2 and as there are more of them make a note of them. Always good to be able to see what other people do.

Yeah. And Hardiness+AoF+Roranach's provides extra security in case you goof something up.
Edit: Don't forget the Shadow Dragon Armor.
I think the biggest mistake people make in that fight it that they freak out a little and spend their aura injudiciously. It's a definite K.I.S.S. encounter to my mind. It's mostly about the movement rate and breath weapon. He's fast and there are relatively few Acid resistance options in the game. That's why people find him tricky. Internalize that, deal with it, and he'll fall.
How are you responding to what he does so quickly - hammering the pause key, knowing what is coming or does the end of round auto-pause help?
All of the above. She keeps the counters she expects to use in her inentory. She has a comprehensive toolkit in her bags. I have all the Autopauses active (including Hit) and do do a lot of tactical pausing on my own.
The most important thing though is keeping your aura in reserve for counters.

Understood. And so you know, your Cavalier looked good when I dropped by the BG1 thread.
Good hunting!

@Serg- Keep it up!
Personal Note: Wow that's horrifying...I'm in the dark again over by where the feral cat ambushed me. I can hear it screaching and mewing through the walls. I can also hear something that almost sounds like a baby crying interspersed. It's really freaky...
Btw. Found 5 more Oils of Speed in the potion case. She should be sufficiently stocked for Abazigal/Tamah though I would still like to have the Amulet of Cheetah Speed. With that Amulet, Mana and Taralash I'd feel pretty confident. Not sure how this one will go...
Current inventory.

It reminds me Edgar's Allan Poe mured cat... (Try Nox Arcana's *The Black Cat* track from the *Shadow Of The Raven* album and you'll understand what I mean)
There is a Temple in Amkthran. I think, you should go there and buy some Remove Curse... It wouldn't be too costly:huh:

Indeed again. Though it was really Battlestar Galactica that led me to start using it. When the weather was lousy, I watched some old TV sci-fi stuff. That's why you're seeing the Galatica and Firefly influences in my diction these days.

It might even be fun to read it in the dark with headlamp on over by where the cat attacked.

Ashoka is currently making her way through Abazigal's Lair. It's been very smooth so far. However, I am a little nervous about the Lycanth the Mad encounter. It's been a long time since Ashoka has had to do something that dangerous. Once again, I wish she had the Mana Bow. I'm never leaving that behind again.
Lycanth seems to call for a fast an furious damage approach and that's something I'm not comfortable with. I'd be curious to know the levels of the more dangerous eyes beside him. They may make the Deathblow line worth considering in a future warrior run.
Anyhoo. Wish her luck!

Lycanth is down. Even got to work some animal charming into the fight.
As soon as I finished my earlier post, I thought of the plan.
I remembered that the door is barred from the inside. Ashoka entered under RoAC II, immediately broke south and bust open the door. The Gorgon's Eye and Lycanth followed. The Gorgon's Eye got a Staff of Striking backstab. Ashoka then turned, and fired an Arrow of Dispelling at Lycanth. He went ProMW immediately. Ashoka went unenchated and took him down.
Left the Eye of the Beholder alone. That thing is crazy fast in my install.
Time for Abazigal.

I almost wonder whether the regeneration bug was the issue there- that Greater Werewyvern really shouldn't be that much of an issue. Ashoka just cracked him over the head with Ages + The Defender under Improved Haste + Critical Strike. He croaked within a round or so.
She was running Pro-Poison via scroll along with Hardiness and AoF. The Wyvern did 3 damage the one time he hit. That was promptly reversed when one of the Earth Elemental criticalled her with her 127% crushing resistance.
Anyhoo. I'm not trying to make you feel bad. Rather, I'm suggesting that something funky may have been going on with your Werewyvern. That regen rate multiplication bug often rears it's head without the Fixpack installed.

Ashoka is in Abazigal's inner sanctum now. She has cleared the first (and most irritating) hurdle.

The Drakes made more progress on Ashoka's healing supply than all of her other ToB enemies combined- many times over in fact. That's not a surprise though, I was expecting that.
The important thing is that they are dead and Ashoka still has most of her limited use abilities in reserve.
The Frost Salamanders are on the deck to. In a moment, she'll give human Abazigal a little love and then it will be time to throw-down with Abby and Tamah.
Best,
A.

Congrats on your Draconis success, good luck for what's next.
Reading Ashoka's story, I feel for Draconis, I really do. Often I feel sorry for monsters, especially when my own party is ruthlessly slaughtering them (like what happenned at the Oasis recently, although that was also mixed with a bit of Chaos Wrath at the Lawfuls there who were so hypocritical that they wouldn't even hold a fair trial. Phooey to them anyway.
I seem to recall a couple of extra dragons are in the Abazigal quest under SCSII/Ascension install. As in, two at a time. Looking forward to it!

You can feel sorry for Draconis if you like, but papa may get his revenge...
The Drakes are dead as mentioned, but Ashoka is currently being chased by a pair of buffed, Improved Hasted Dragons and at least one Mordy Swords. She's also eminently vulnerable to the Breath Weapon of one of the Dragons's due to leaving the Mana Bow behind. I'm not sure she'll survive this one...
I'll provide a report either way fairly soon.
Best,
A.

Bad news everyone.

I had a feeling this one wouldn't have a happy ending. Alesia basically dominated that fight, but I was pretty sure it would be a whole different ballgame without Time Stop scrolls and Maze Traps. It was...
This battle can actually be covered much like the Draconis fight. This time though, it was Ashoka who promptly reached a point where surrender was the only viable tactical option.
Abazigal flipped to Dragon form much sooned than expected. As a consequence, Ashoka was mostly unbuffed when the Dragons arrived.
She then saw this.

And this.

I sort of freaked at that point and used the aura. It should have been held in reserve to counter a Remove of course, but I paniced.
.

That's game over right there: clouded Aura, Remove on the way, foes Improved Hasted, and judiciously buffed with Ajuration school stuff. That was the undoutedly the end. I considered capitulating just so I didn't have to see the hand come up.
Soon after, she saw this.

It's not exactly hard to link up that screenshot with the first one is it?
Oh well. It was a fun run. I hope others enjoyed following her. [smilie]http://social.bioware.com/images/forum/emoticons/happy.png[/smilie]

Btw. I may do a "The Battle That Should Have Been" post as an epilogue like I did at the end of Alesia's run.

No doubt...
The Greenstone Amulet is among the items I shouldn't have left behind.
I'm still a bit rusty from my break. Ashoka's game was a big step forward though. I should be able to start cranking out successes again soon. I'm pretty confident in Alesia. As for the rest of my character squad, their odds are quickly getting better.
Eventually, I'd like to complete SCS-Ascension solo No Reloads with all of my "team."
Thankyou for all the entertainment along the way though
You are welcome sir.
It was a fun run on my side too.
(and it would be interesting to see what might have been).
I'm working on that now.
Despite her post-mortem status, she's continuing to do recon for my Warriors. I'd like to have that fight solved before firing up my Paladin.
She's come up with a few safe battle plans for Warriors. Just working on the fun/coolness factor now really. I'll post if and when I'm content.
Best,
A.

@Alesia - first sorry to hear about the end of your run. I think you should be proud of what you were able to accomplish, despite your difficulty mods.
Yes, I believe we did conclude it was the regen bug. The only two suggestions I had however, didn't work. The devas never did vorpal hit the Wyvern (maybe only planetars get vorpal hits not sure) despite many attempts, and the other was load from a save prior to the bug happening and I didn't have that either.

Vessen and gang were able to get out of Chateau Irenicus, without much happening in the process. We were able to solve the local circus problem. I have been using Lily's offensive/defensive spins a lot this run so far, and they have made a difference. I miss her awesome lore (Blades get 1/2 normal bard lore) though.
We freed Hendak as well. The fight against the beastmaster was a bit chaotic. We sent a fire elemental and insect plague against him, but his bears were causing Joshua grief (remember Joshua's DEX is bad, and so is his equipment at the moment he has like -1 AC). Nevertheless, the party won the fight without casualty thanks to Lily's offensive spin.
The party solved a strange quest in the sewers under the Copper Coronet. This got Joshua a nice two hand sword, however, most of the time he will use a bastard sword with shield, for AC reasons.
There were yet more slavers to deal with in a moored ship. The party didn't have much trouble dealing with them, EXCEPT I entered from the door, and forgot to de-trap that permanent poison trap. I told everyone to stop, used a elixir on Vessen and Paja healed Uriah. Other than that, taking down the enemies was smooth. Reporting our success finally got Hanna her level 9, she dualed to mage. She put * in quarterstaff.
Vessen decided he would solve a small problem in Trademeet (the Dao Djinns). First though Lily managed to pickpocket the genie lamp without using any thieving potions at all, we were impressed. We did MASSIVE buffs for the Genies, and the battle went smoothly. As a reward, received the shield of harmony. Joshua will use that (so that he can continue using the Helm of Balduran, he needs that AC boost) and Joshua's +3 medium shield went to Vessen.
Forgot to mention, Lily is using Stonefire and Arbane off-hand, Joshua the +3 bastard sword (against shapeshifters), Hanna a +1 staff, Vessen sling of seeking, Paja +2 sling and Joshua Tuigan's short bow as their primary weapons during combat.
To get Joshua's full plate, we doomed then held Droth in the Sea's Bounty. After trademeet had enough to get the AC 3 bracers, which we got for Lily since she is in the front lines and her AC 6 bracer went to Hanna.
While we in the vicinity, decided Mencar should be out next target -- this will also give Hanna level 7 mage. We did not bother with any buffs. Joshua laid down two traps by the stairway (anti-Brennan Risling maneuver). This was the sequence:
Round 1: 2x web, entangle
Round 2: emotion, fireball, insect plague
Round 3: fireball x2, Paja slings Orcslicer
Round 4: fireball x2
Eventually Mencar did break free, only to be doomed and held and taken down. The full plate went to Vessen, putting his AC to -6. Brennan Risling was the last one to die, he was sleeping due to the emotion.

Party Status:
Joshua, level 9 inquisitor, 84 HP
Lily, level 11 blade, 59 HP
Hanna, level 9 fighter (inactive) > level 7 mage, 95 HP
Vessen, level 9 cleric of lathander, 61 HP
Paja, level 12 druid, 63 HP
Uriah, level 9 mage/level 9 thief, 45 HP
