Thats just the thing she has a 14 constitution.  If i recall that is + 2 hp per lvl?

Afraid not - constitution bonuses begin at 15.  Sorry to see her fall early - good luck with no. 3.

Final update for Aedan.
But is it the final update because he was eventually defeated by Abazigal, Balthazar or Amelyssan - or is it the final update because he eventually succeeded? We shall see!

Abazigal's Lair:
With Phobos+Hardiness leading the way, the group entered the lair, fighting some lesser earth elementals and a were-wyvern. A couple of frost salamanders and bone fiends later, they had a flask of water to reach the kua-toa.
With the help of a deva, Phobos killed all of the water elementals, and Aedan obtained a rope + hindo's hand (new weapon for Argus).

With the cloak from the sauaghin city, Phobos safely took care of all of the eyes, and Bondari helped Aedan to gain a scroll of reversal.

Abazigal:
Basic strategy similiar to Draconis: Set up traps near the entrance, defeat the human form and lure the dragon form into the traps. Also, Adrastos used protection from lightning spells in addition to the usual buffs. After defeating 3 ice salamanders with the help of a deva, Phobos lured Abazigal close to the traps, but not close enough to trigger them. While he did deal a lot of damage, Hardiness, potions and 1 ror-charge kept Phobos alive until the human form was defeated. The dragon form used wing buffet, the breath weapon and ran into the traps, as predicted.
Cespenar constructed some more items, including flail of ages +5 (which was unly used one time).

Balthazar:
Aedan accepted Seamon's offer. The group ran away from the mercenaries to defeat the melee fighters and summoned a deva to take care of the mages. Inside, once again, Argus+Aedan set up spike traps near the entrance - never change a running system, especially if your group is two men down. Phobos and Argus' melee attacks with improved haste and HLAs quickly defeated all of the monks - Phobos used Gromnir's helmet again, so he was immune to blunt damage. Quickly there was only balthazar left, and it was easy to lure him downstairs and let the traps kill him.

Before leaving Amkethran, Aedan took care of some final buys and sells: He acquired all of the oils of speed, some dexterity-increasing potions, potions of heroism and, most importantly, scrolls of really useful arcane spells: MI, MMM, Stoneskin, PFMW, Mordenkaines Sword, Absolute Immunity, Timestop, Haste, Improved Haste, Mass Invisibilty, Breach ... these are the ones that come to mind right now. He also had the remaining wish scroll from the final seal guardians at watcher's keep.

Pocket Plane Challenges:
As you may have noticed, I've avoided these so far, because I consider them to be rather difficult. The first one I did was the third one - the slayer shadow.
Since he always attacks the PC, I attempted to surround him with summons which barely failed, but he was already injured before reaching Aedan. Then it was a simple matter of using a PFMW scroll.

Next, I did the second challenge. The battle was set up with the summoning of a deva and focusing of the Aedan-clone. Eventually, the clone and Tamoko were defeated, and Angelo+Semai couldn't resist the power of the group.

For the third challenge, I had Aedan equip the thieve's hood and gargoyle boots to be safe. Also used True Sight with the hood and with Adrastos, and the chosen of cyric quickly fell, only once backstabbing Argus, who survived.

Now, for the Ravager: I had a couple of strategies prepared, one involving Adrastos' 9 harm spells, one just lots of melee damage and some more elaborate ones involving arcane spells. However, I decided to just see how I'd fare with a standard tactic: Aedan and Argus used MMM, Adrastos Energy Blades, Phobos improved haste and HLAs, the battle is started with a breach by Aedan, and 5 skeleton warriors serve as distraction for the blades. The party then just started attacking the Ravager. I only used 1 potion with Argus, and even though some of the skeleton warriors eventually crumbled, the Ravager died before the last one was down. Also, I switched Phobos' weapon to the flail of ages +5 for this battle while Adrastos only used energy blades.

I rested two times (one time only to reset the gargoyle boot charges for stoneskin, so all of the party members could enter the throne of bhaal with a stoneskin active) and buffed. It would take lots of space to list all of the buffs, so I'll instead post screenshots of each characters characterscreen:
Phobos
Adrastos
Argus
Aedan.

As you can see, Aedan isn't quite as effective as the others ;)
I also included some of the remaining mage-scroll buffs, for example mirror image.
For the first battle, the group had neither traps nor summons. However, with all those buffs, the only thing I had to do was readjust party positions, use critical strike a few times and attack. Not even a breach was needed, Amelyssan was defeated in a few rounds.

I somehow keep thinking that the first pool has the ice creatures so I buffed everyone with a green scroll and a potion of cold resistance. I sent a deva ahead and was a little bit shocked, but air elementals were no threat to the party.
For the second battle with Amelyssan, I used 2 spike traps and 5 regular traps (I had 16 spike traps and wanted to have 7 of them ready for the next to fights), and I correctly predicted this would bring her to injured. She attempted to cast a spell which could've been timestop, and since she was focusing Aedan, I used the second PFMW scroll just to be safe, but the spell as interrupted. She tried to flee, but the party didn't give her the opportunity, bringing her down a second time.

With everyone still being immune to frost damage, the ice creatures were easy.
Now I had her: 7 spike traps were, as expected, enough.
Argus used the final improved haste scroll on himself and a timestop scroll to defeat the fallen solar during timestop. Turns out he's immune to backstabs (tried assassinate), but still, his 9 apr (should've given him the gloves, too) were enough to defeat the powerful foe before the timestop expired.

The remaining Mariliths quickly fell to summons and breach. One last time, seven spike traps were set up, and finally, Amelyssan was defeated, bringing this randomized party challenge to a successful end! Aedan became a god and ascended to the higher planes.

Some statistics:
Phobos killed 52% of the enemies, Bodhi being the most powerful one. Adrastos got 17% and Firkraag, Argus 18% (his usefulness was greatly improved with ToB and him finally getting the weapon profiencies to dual wield) and Imix, Aedan 11% and Draconis.
I definetly learned a lot about using thieves during this run, and also an important lesson about Saladrex. All in all, I am proud of the results even if some of the late game tactics were cheesy (but then again, if you have 2-3 thieves, not using traps at all would've been a fairly limiting choice, since a lot of the really tough enemies are immune to backstabs) - Not sure if much would've been different with Shakti and Achilleus still alive.

Now I shall think about what to attempt next - propably something involving BGT and/or soloing.

Congrats, Enuhal! Glad *your* Amelyssan proved to be not much threat in an end (note to meself - think I'll need some high-level thief companion for Grim Face, hmm... Never used one aside from traps/locks...)

Update 1: Irenicus Dungeon Escape...

Being able to wear Armor makes having mediocre HP alot less glaring than before. Gail hit lvl 8 prior to reaching floor 2 which was a shock since Priest in general have a slower progression far as lvling goes compared to other casters at the beginning of BG2, but reaching lvl 9 will be a necessary if I plan on avoiding issues with random deaths via minsc or jaheira, although gail plans on dumping Minsc just out of despite of him being male and all. She will tolerate Yoshimo only since he is a Thief class she doesn't feel like hunting for a replacement atm. Hopefully this playthrough will go a bit better now that i'm not a primary caster :D.

Nice going, Enuhal. Was that a trilogy run? Were the stats random as well as the classes? Did you re-distribute the stats or take as-is?

And we welcome your entry when it arrives, Alesia. I never fail to learn something from your runs.

Thanks, everyone :)

@corey_russel:
It was SoA/ToB (playing a randomized party in BG1 with 6 members somehow always seemed boring to me). Everything was random, even the names, except for two things: How the characters looked like and the distribution of thieving skills (that would've been too complicated, but it wouldn't have made a big difference considering the number of thieves the party had - everything could've been handled at some point in time).

I think the original post with the characters original stats is at ~page 130.

Update 2: Circus Investigation, Entering Chapter 2, Investigating The slavers at CC...

Gail cleared the circus without problem, did not bother to ask Aerie to join the party, went to slums jumped to chapter 2. Gone to temple district as advised picked up the unseeing eye quest, head back to slums. Cleared the slavers. In the process lvled up to 9 now both Jaheira and Gail can raise the dead so upcoming battles will be alot easier. Yoshimo now wields the Tuigian, Minsc manage to stay in group since picking up Lilcor makes him far more useful as a DPS machine. Jaheira taken the role of primary tank. Picked up Nalia to be group mage although will be dropped when I come across Jan Jansen.

Future endevors are to clear Fighter's Stronghold, grab Jan probably after doing Nalias quest or during. Debating whether to drop minsc for Keldorn when I start the Unseeing eye. Decided against Korgon this run as Gail has this Justice without reserve attitude will be very hard to keep rep below 18.

Well, I've been adventuring for a bit and then I went down into Firkraag's lair. Poor Anomen got chunked. Had to haste, grab his stuff and return when I have more plus 3 weapons then then the Flail of Ages. Firecam has his Guild. He is now looking for people to recruit. I have Aerie, Edwina, Viconia and Firecam right now. That party was qutie the fireworks:wizard:. Anomen hated Edwin and Viconia, Edwin hates Aerie and Anomen, Aerie makes fun of Edwina, Viconia hates Aerie...

I'm taking suggestions for a tank. I played the last game I finished with Minsc all the way while being a tank myself.
I know! Korgan and that paladin.

Have at last finished installation of SoA and Mods so am continuing with Rajkumari the Air Genasi cavalier.

Stats are excellent due to an excellent roll, extra tomes being available in BG1 due to mods. Plus some stats improved by Subrace mod. This mod also decreased the experience substantially.

I am wondering about the experience cap that I have chosen. i.e. whether it is about right, too high or too low. Experience will decide which it is!
I chose Level 30.

Str 19; Dex 20; Con 19; Int 16; Wis 20; Cha 17.

The setup includes some difficulty increasing mods, but also introduces more equipment. I don't know whether the result will make it harder or easier, but the number of mods will certainly make the game unpredictable as far as I am concerned, as I have tried to avoid reading spoilerish readmes.

Rajkumari did not find either the dungeon or her visit to the circus too difficult, but realised when she rescued the slaves that she had been lucky as she made a number of crucial saves. She picked up Yoshimo to deal with traps and has replaced him with Nalia to go to the D' Arnise Household.

Wow! Talk about the kitchen sink. It would be interesting to hear what sort of bugs, if any, rise from "feuding" mods. Have a great Run.

@Gem Hound have another go mate.

@Krazy Solo, Sorry about Melani... FYI the Shadow Thief in the Docks District is supposed to sell you a ‘Find Familiar’ scroll but I normally Save the Merchant at city gates (he appears the 2nd time you go through) & ask to see his stuff.

p.s. it’s apples and oranges but my personal pick for most tanking tasks is Haer'Dalis... he is a bit of a gear horde however.

@Grimwald the Wise, nice to see you back in the saddle again.

p.s. Congrats, Enuhal!

UD21;

Tidy up this mess:

Image IPB Image IPB Image IPB

I had the “Short Bow of Gesen” made for Imoen & purchased “Harp of Pandemonium” for Haer'Dalis as well as “Robe of Vecna” for yours’ truly... I also had my apprentices make me the “Wand of Apprenti” & a scroll of ‘Mislead’ because I’m soft hearted (the 50,000 bonus exp is nice as well).

I asked Jaheira to trigger the trap against Lord Argrim then Do’Dad dispatched his guards with ‘Fire Storm’ (their “Arrows of Dispelling” went in my carry bag for latter) before dispatching the Unseeing Eye and paying 9000 gp to have the knights of some sort sent home.

I was so close to levelling that I could almost taste it so I returned the “Rynn Lanthorn” (unlocks the Elven City of Suldanessellar) & that did the trick... I picked ‘Energy Blades’ & ‘Spellstrike’ in order to have options whilst Jaheira picked ‘Tracking’ as her new ability.
p.s.
Jaheira had a visitor ask her a question but it appears that she couldn't give him a satisfactory answer.

Well, this is no longer a No-Reload for me but I continued onward and bam! I met Firkragg. I got owned. I have not been destroyed this thoroughly in let me see... Nope can't think of a time. I had a party of six at the start of that fight and only brought Firkragg down to Injured...

I was thinking that the numerous additional NPCs should not be a problem with bugs, but that there might be the occasional problem elsewhere. We'll see. It has been a bit jerky occasionally and I am thinking of uninstalling the widescreen mod as I don't like the mod much anyway, and that mod could be the culprit. (First time that I've tried it.)

So far only one bug. When I went to the rear rooms at the copper coronet the extra guards where Umar is found were hostile. When I fought them, Umar, and everyone else became hostile. As this was caused by a bug, I had no compunction about starting again and entering the rear through the other door. That worked fine and so far no problems at the D'Arnise stronghold.

I avoided killing the minotaur in the copper coronet as the party (Rajkumari and Nalia) were not up to facing a dragon yet.

Before going to the D'Arnise stronghold, I picked up Korgan and equipped him with a two handed battleaxe which also does fire damage. Rajkumari got a long range staff that made the iron golem easy though fighting thee others was harder. Rajkumari lost 2/3 of her HP. As I hadn't buffed, that was my own fault.

As Korgan started complaining, when we went outside, we went to the graveyard before finishing the D'Arnise quest.

As I can only protect one character from level drain, I am thinking that perhaps I ought to pick up a cleric. Anomen is the obvious one particularly as I am considering the Anomen romance. However, I don't want any problems with having to go to the Windspear Hills too soon. I want to finish the quests that I've started first.

@Gem Hound - yeah Firkraag can be vicious, both because of his firebreath attacks and he hastes himself. In general, I find that if I have access to 2 ariel servants and 2 fire elementals, combined with the party's help and of course provided I can put fire protection on everyone, then he's more manageable. Even so, there's been a number of parties that were just too weak and so saved Firkraag until after I got out of the Underdark.

Update 3: Death again...

Gail and company decided to go help Nalia family, on the way to city gate got ambushed by slavers. Dispatch the group grabbed the Trademeet quest, exit the gate got ambushed by thugs, rescued harper returned him to the docks. Xzar ask for help agreed. Head to waukeen promenade to rest at inn avoiding docks in as long as jaheira in party. Got ambushed by 10 ogogs really already 3 ambushes in span of 5 minutes. Unfortunately for me they spawned surrounding Gail as such all hit her at the same time -.-.

Almost like I made the game mad at me. Or the game just don't like clerics. Either way time to roll next toon. Eventually I'm gonna have to catch a lucky break. Dying so early in the game seems dejavuism.

Yeah. There is more ambushs within the first few days I found then the rest combined. It has done that to me for my previous 4 games as well as this one.

Is there any archive for previously successfully completed runs? I would love reading about those who made it all the way through, specifically I'm most interested in reading about Saros' IA v5 insane no-reload solo.

I've tried extensive googling, and webarchive viewing the old bioware boards, but I've yet to find anything.

I found this on an old GameFaqs forum:

If you want an idea of the power of the fighter/illusionist, you should check out Saros' solo no-reload Ascension solo journal. Once he gets 6th level spells, the F/I can kill almost anything. With 9th level spells, he's just ridiculous.

http://forums.biowar...orum=18&sp=105

Unfortunately, the old BioWare forums no longer exist (obviously). Anbody know else know how to get acess to this? I would be interested to re-read the Saros posts.

There is a group called The Baldur's Gate Trilogy No Reload group. It’s not the most active of forums but it does offer a nice place to put previous no-reload runs without them getting lost in two hundred pages.

You can view the forums with Wayback Machine, although not all of the topics are recoverable.

I'd agree that a gnome fighter/illusionist is possibly the most powerful character class - even though their mage level falls a bit behind a dual classed human f > m at high levels - they only miss out on one of each 9th, 8th and 7th tier spell, but they get an extra spell for tiers 1-5, and most spells don't scale above caster level 20 anyway. Also they have better fighting skills (including fighter HLA's), huge save vs spell bonus (up to +5 with 18 constitution) and they use the (better) fighter's table for all other saving throws.
