So yeah. This time I got all buffed up with my usual combat stuff and added in Improved Haste and Globe of Invulnerability too. And then I just laid down a couple Webs. Not so tough when you can't hippity-hop hey Spirit Trolls.

That's a pretty good combo! I kept thinking about using the jelly form with web but this seems much much better.

I've gotten pretty good at dealing with those sits though. I buffed up with Polymorph Self, Spell Shield, Shield, Blur, Mirror Image, Shadow Door, Spell Immunity: A, Spell Immunity: D, Spell Immunity: E, and Globe of Invulnerability. Then, I laid down a Web and took out the Trolly-Trolls while my spells protected me from the Yuan-Ti's magic.

Sounds like a robust plan, Alastria has potential--go girl!

Urgo decided that he had had enough of bossy drow. But decided that he would first pay the Beholder lair a visit. (In my install they cannot see invisibility) So he snuck into the lair and stole the green amulet. Then he snuck into the Lolith Temple, stole the eggs, used oil of speed and an invisi potion and hightailed it out of dodge. But suddenly he changed his mind. Why give the eggs to Adalon? A big silver dragon must be guarding a fabulous treasure, right? So he buffed with enrage and launched into the big guy with a Greater Whirlwind.

Adalon was no push over. He was hurting Urgo bad, sometimes for 50 pts per hit--but Urgo either ran or was blown up the stairs by wing buffet on several occaisions, which he used to heal or rebuff. His greater whirlwinds using Flail of Ages also caused Adalon to miscast a few spells. Not sure what the SCS Adalon might have had up his sleeve, but quite a few of those spells were spoiled, and in the end Urgo prevailed....and got---some silver dragon blood. Hmm, wonder what that could be used for? Perhaps we will find out.

Shortly thereafter, he took care of a few drow at the Underdark exit, and left this godforsaken realm forever. After an encounter with the elves and Dritz (whom he befriended) he made his way back to Atkatla, where he had to fight some Githyanki to keep the silver sword. He then bought the helm of brilliance (40 fire resists), and paid a visit to various liches around town, where he collected some bones, and a nifty sword called Daystar. Time to awaken Kangaxx.

Kangaxx the lich and the demi-lich took a while. Urgo was wearing helm of brillance, ring of fire control (picked up just inside Windspear Hills dungeon), and Gorgon plate for a total of 95% fire resists--to foil their red fire shields.  Urgo had to wait for their protections to wear out, and when his own enrage wore off, he ran away to heal and rebuff. It took a while, but eventually both died to the Daystar, and he obtained the ring of Gaxx (yay!).

He then killed a nasty Illusionist/Fighter who  was hanging out in Valygar's bedroom, from whom he took the boots of avoidance, along with another Lich near the Shadow thieves stronghold, from whom he took the cloak of balduran--25% magic resistance.

There were still a lot of jobs to do around Atkatla, but Urgo decided that he wanted revenge against Irenicus more than all of those---including whatever treasures might be found in the process. (He has abandoned the idea of using the Crom Faer, and has decided to fight using axe and shield, or two-handed weapons, instead. Moreover, he didnt need any more experience. So its time for Bodhi, and end game.)

I have a new character I'm entering, my previous F/M run which I won't post did really good up until I once again got arrogant and well, lets just say it wasn't pretty. I'm kind of bored with F/Ms now, and am going to try this character for size

Introducing Tessa Tanglefield

This is the tale of a Priest of Helm who always wished to become a wizard. Here are her statistics:

Priest of Helm female human

str 17 dex 16 con 17 int 18 wis 16 char 3

My plan is to duel her at level 11. I wish to see the interaction between seeking sword and the mustard jelly form. Same mods, and insane difficulty. I can't guarantee I will survive long enough to get my cleric spells back but we'll see. Playing a low level mage teaches me to be cautious.

Good work Angiras! Urgo's closing in on the SoA finish line.

And good luck with Tessa Shadow!

Tale of Tessa Tanglefield

Tessa was lucky that her bhaalspawn abilities included larloch's minor drain and vampiric touch, this enabled her to 'eat' her own summons and gain several more hitpoints to endure the dangerous traps. The traps before the key, she triggered them both, but she still survived, gulping down healing potions to lessen the initial poison damage.
After escaping the dungeon she heads out to the circus tent and frees the captives from Kalah. She uses the holy power+righteous magic+DUHM+armor of faith+seeking sword to cleave her way through.

Attack of Suni Suna
Tessa was unprepared for this attack. She retreated quickly. The next bandit attack with Renfeld, she did succeed in getting her skeletons, and thus defeated those bandits. She prepares to assault Dao Djinns in trademeet with a protection from petrification scroll.

Dao Djinn Circus
The efreet was turned to stone and destroyed, and the Dao Djinns chased after Tessa dealing incredible damage with incredible speed to boot. Tessa Tanglefield needed help from the militia wizard, who promptly distracted one of the two and gave his life in the process, and allowed Miss Tanglefield to get out five skeletons. She was able to vampiric touch the djinn and kill it with her skeletons.

Collecting Scrolls
Being a big fan of wizards, Tessa gathers all the scrolls she can so that she may learn them at a later time. She recently applied to a wizard's school in the Planar Sphere. Apparently a lich is the professor. Tessa frees Hendak and finds a Tenser's transformation scroll in the process, what luck! She's very close to a level eleven cleric.

Getting over the level
Tessa spends all the Trademeet gold on spells. Then she sells loot that she does not need, and buys more scrolls. After scribing scrolls for several hours(in Faerun time) Tessa manages to learn alot of things about magic. She is a level ten mage now, and is hoping to reclaim her Helm abilities.

Mistake in the Slaver Compound
Tessa made a mistake(well I made the mistake actually) when she thought that the jelly form would protect against acid traps(the one just north) She paid the price and died. I will be continuing her adventures in the minimal reload challenge, don't feel like going through it all again.

I feel with you. Your last three deads all ended solo no-reloads for me also. It's common sense to assume the jelly with an acid based ranged attack is immune to acid but isn't the case unfortunately. I postpone this sort of trap (e.g. another one in Merkrath's home) till i have hp over 70 and good saving throws. The thief merchant in Waukeen's also has an arcane ProtfA scroll.

(My playthrough is on hold atm, catching up with Fallout and Knights of the Chalice)

I'm sorry to hear that Shadow.

So you know, Alastria did the Acid Traps with Polymorph: Bear->Vampiric Touch.

I will be continuing her adventures in the minimal reload challenge, don't feel like going through it all again.

Good luck with Tessa in Minimal Reloads. I'll be sure to follow her adventure. Perhaps I'll pick up some tricks for Ao.

Bah I'll start over with a new Tessa, it just doesn't feel right anymore. I pretty much have the game plan all set up anyways. I will post on the new Tessa. Thank you everyone.

****Actually I guess I'm way out of my league here. I think four dead characters(Mars, Kettles, Tanglefield, and the thief/cleric I forgot his/her name) says I need to go back to a regular party, and that's what I'll do. I'll be using a reincarnated Tessa, I'll post later. Plus the game will go faster with a party

I too feel your pain. I couldnt even count the number of characters I have lost in my no-reload attempts over the last five years. Still trying, and have great respect for those who have completed such a game, especially a tactically modded game.

Before visiting Bodhi, Urgo made a trip to Immensvale to puruse some books purchased from a shady character named Fael, whose real name is Darcin Cole--a member of the skinner murder gang. He offered to put the finishing touches on a human flesh armor, thinking that Urgo was a fellow member. Being chaotic good, Urgo was both curious (chaotic) and horrified (good) at the prospect, but his chaotic side prevailed and he had the armor made, but is unable to wear it. Afterwards, Darcin realized that Urgo was an imposter, and a group of mages materialized to kill him, but they all died instead.

Urgo has evolved into a formidable mage slayer, due to some erm....smelly (cheesy)items he has picked up along the way. Equipped with the reflection shield and the cloak of mirroring, he is virtually immune to most ranged attacks, both magical and physical, and under the influence of enrage he is immune to most disabling magic as well. This enables him to wait out the beefy SCS mage protections, and take care of all the melee foes first. The cloak also  enables him to replace the belt of inertial barrier with the belt of Orge Giant strength, for a little more melee punch. Using axe/sword and shield lowers his APR a bit, but the extra defense provided by a shield is very welcome, especially in a no-reload. Urgo is dead set on completing his no-reload, and doesnt mind getting smelly to do so.

Bodhi and her gang of undead were no match for him--most died to either the Azureedge (ranged) or Daystar ( melee) in one or two hits. Upon entering Bodhi's room, and tossing an Azureedge at her before she went  agro, Urgo then retreated back into the hallway, where he dealt with her named minions one at a time, before facing Bodhi all alone. By that time most of her initial protections had worn off, and she fell shortly thereafter.

Sudenesselar was no big challenge for him--except for the Dragon, who was able to hurt him for 40+ points per hit. Urgo had to drink 8 potions of superior healing during that fight and finished 3/4 dead, but he survived.

Irenicus at the Tree of Life, couldnt do much to injure Urgo. He summoned two erffreetis and used  PW:Blind, but once his protections ran out Irenicus died an ignoble death, and Urgo followed him into Hell.

During the Hell Trials Urgo's true nature came forth. He chose to keep the Blackrazor, and thus became Chaotic Evil---oooh, he is really a bad guy now and able to use the Human Flesh Armor, Kaliguns amulet, and Cloak of Balduran to get his magic resistance up pretty high--to foil magic attacks when his enrage is down.(Improved Abazigal watch out, I am thinking of your maze attacks!)

SCS Irenicus (Slayer Form) in Hell is nasty. The main threat being his two time stops, cast relatively early in the fight, during which he likes to melee you into oblivion. After initiating the fight, Urgo thus ran like hell to the opposite side of the room, and kept his distance from the Slayer. During the first Time Stop, Jon Boy summoned a Dark Planetar next to Urgo, but Urgo wasnt about to engage him, while Jon Boy approached. He kept running till the second Time Stop was used up--during which Jon made the mistake of casting a spell before engaging in melee. This used up precious seconds during his Time Stop., and allowed Urgo to survive his melee onslaught.

Urgo then ran around and killed all the demons plus the Dark Planetar, before facing the Slayer--and allowed most of the Slayers protections to wear out. But even enraged, Urgo couldnt hit him except on a critical. The Slayer' s AC must be insane....So Urgo activated Critical Strikes, and wailed on him for a round. This brought him to near death--a minute or so later he fell to some additiional critical hits. Urgo was also takinjg a lot of damage, but was able to outrun him while healing. Thus ended his SoA no-reload.

Well, it wasnt a perfect no-reload. I must admit that I had to reload when I tried to enter Small Teeth Pass (Tactics version) and my game crashed. But since that was a bug, I guess it doesnt really count.

Urgo then talked to the Head, and defeated Illasera on the field of battle. She died first, and all the others ran away. He revived Sarevok, and is now about to face his first Pocket Challenge. I have high hopes that he will survive ToB with all of his cheesy gear, but there are many tough battles to come--all Improved Bhaalspawn from Ascension, with SCS AI on Hard will be no walk in the park. He can no longer use Azureedge, his trusty axe which served him so well in SoA, but he has his eyes set on two legendary weapons he has heard aboiut--the Axe of the Unyeilding and the Ravager +6, which he hopes will serve him well in ToB--and of course, he has the Blackrazor..

Congrats on beating the game! My game will crash every now and then too, it's not a big thing. Good luck in Ascension! I once soloed a fighter through SoA, but it was the vanilla version(well mostly) and certainly not a 'no reload'.

Urgo and Gromnir

This was a tough battle, and I am ashamed to say that in order to survive it Urgo had to retreat twice to the room below in order to heal. Otherwise he would have been dead--at one point, his portrait looked completely red, and he escaped in the nick of time--unable to pop a healing potion due to a cooldown, he took his only salvation--run like hell. Fortunately, no one follows downstairs--and I would recommend to DWW that Gromnir and gang be allowed to follow you downstairs, otherwise this is an easy exploit (which I shamelessly used or abused to survive.)

Now everyone is dead--and Melissan is nowhere to be seen. He even went back to town to sell some loot and returned, and still no Melissan or his Pocket Plane power. Hmmm. Not sure what to do here; I really dont want to reload this fight in hopes of getting Mellisan to spawn afterwards--it was iffy the first time, and there is no guarantee of success on a second attempt. Any suggestions? Should I attempt to CLUA spawn her? Urgo will hold off doing anything till he gets your feedback. Meanwhile, he will take a nap at Gromnir's throne.

Congrats on completing SoA Angiras!

Cheers,

A.

Btw. I'm not opposed to a CLUA spawn of Melissan in this case. However, I don't know whether It could lead to complications later on. I leave that question to someone else. Others should feel free to chime in on whether a CLUA remedy would be appropriate here.

Tried and it didnt work. Mel gives her final battle speech and not the Gromnir speech. No choice but to reload from the first Pocket Plane challenge.

Edit: Replayed through Saradush and the Gromnir fight from the Pocket Plane--and got the same result: no Melissan after the battle. Looks like its a problem with my install. This will probably end my attempts this season, however, I will keep abreast of everyone elses' progress. Good luck!

PS: I am leaving for India on Tuesday and probably wont have time to play for quite a while after that. Thats why I was pushing to finish up this long standing goal....but the gods seem to be unfavorable. As Kuroshian, the Acid Kensai is fond of saying: "O my, this is not a good day!"

To end? Like this?

I'm sorry to hear that Angiras. Presumably someone console savy can help you out. It has to be a matter of resetting variables and spawning the right version of Mel. Unfortunately, I'm not capable of helping, but I'm sure someone out there is.

Best,

A.

Sorry to hear that. Perhaps do it over in vanilla and just uninstall all the modified components of that battle(Ascension and SCS). My game always crashes when I play improved Yaga Shura(Ascension) so I never have that component installed.

Starting a new game, will not be solo. My reincarnated Tessa Tanglefield:

Priest of Helm, female human
str 16 dex 16 con 17 int 18 wis 16 char 3

same mods, same insane difficulty

New Adventures of Tessa Tanglefield

Tessa always admired wizards and sorcerors, she was raised by a wizard afterall, and by nature she was inclined to seek their company. Being trapped by a wizard however, was not the most pleasant of things, however, her good friend Imoen, who was also a wizard managed to free her from her cell. There were two other prisoners nearby, a bossy woman named Jaheira and a rather strange fellow by the name of Minsc. Tessa accepted both into her party but booted Jaheira because she apparently wanted to be leader or something of the sort.

Minsc's awkward relationship with his hamster troubled Tessa too much, and she asked him to leave as well eventually. So there it was, only Tessa and Imoen to brave the prison dungeon. But there was no doubt that Tessa and Imoen made a great team. There were enemy guards in the form of duergar dwarves, lead by Illyich. Tessa cast protection from fire on Imoen and Imoen cast minor globe of invulnerability on herself, who already had stoneskin and mirror image on as well.

Imoen confronted this duegar leader Illyich, and sent two webs at him and his minions. Then she cast two fireballs in succession. This slew some of the dwarves but not all. She emptied her spellbook and began to melee the remaining dwarves. Finally all were dead. Furthur incursions into Irenicus' abode lead to more mephits. Free action+web for Tessa worked wonders. This duo of Tessa and Imoen has begun to look like a great beginning.

The escape from the dungeon goes well, but they are met by the same wizard who captured them. Other wizards join in on the action, and it seems to be a wizard bananza. Tessa has never seen so many wizards in the same area at the same time. It's wizard overload!

These new wizards arriving demand that inappropriate magic users be imprisoned. Because of the ruckus, Jon Irenicus caused, Imoen is collateral damage and is taken as well. So much for the dynamic duo. But not all is lost. Nearby a Circus Tent is being held hostage by a madman, and Tessa Tanglefield investigates. She finds out that Kalah, the madman has turned everything and everyone into some type of illusion. After turning an ogre into an elven woman, she accepts this woman into her party to form a new dynamic duo. She just so happens to a wizard as well! Her name is Aerie, and with Aerie's help, the Circus Tent is liberated.

it's been a while since I posted an update so, here it is. I'll try to keep it short. Sorry if i fail at that.....

Viertes update:Viertes was in the underdark with her Drow illusion gone, standing at the exit. Now what to do?The underdark is tough, so if she stays there's a good chance it's game-over. On the other hand, I had really intended her to be 14th level or so when she returned. So, what to do.
She decided to stay a bit longer and do some wandering.  First it was the Kuo-Toa
i301.photobucket.com/albums/nn49/rooTheDay_album/Baldr705.jpg

The demon knights were tough, of course. Wasn't sure how to deal with them, so Viccy cast protection from evil 10ft, then gated in a demon.
i301.photobucket.com/albums/nn49/rooTheDay_album/Baldr708.jpg

With the demon in the room, the party retreated to the outer hallway and started to prep for whatever was left.
i301.photobucket.com/albums/nn49/rooTheDay_album/Baldr710.jpg
Once the demon was gone, they charged.
i301.photobucket.com/albums/nn49/rooTheDay_album/Baldr712.jpg
i301.photobucket.com/albums/nn49/rooTheDay_album/Baldr713.jpg

Then it was off to the beholder area:
i301.photobucket.com/albums/nn49/rooTheDay_album/Baldr715.jpg

Jaheira got turned to stone... (nuts)
i301.photobucket.com/albums/nn49/rooTheDay_album/Baldr717.jpg

Viertes shapeshifted into some jelly
i301.photobucket.com/albums/nn49/rooTheDay_album/Baldr718.jpg

And found out she could read scrolls while in jelly form..... not sure why, with the fact that she didn't actually have hands or eyes or mouth or whatever, but .. what the heck.

Fortunately, the group had a flesh to stone.
And they got a spiffy item
i301.photobucket.com/albums/nn49/rooTheDay_album/Baldr737.jpg

After a lot of thinking and deliberation, they decided to go after the mind flayers
i301.photobucket.com/albums/nn49/rooTheDay_album/Baldr739.jpg

Jaheira dropped again:
i301.photobucket.com/albums/nn49/rooTheDay_album/Baldr740.jpg
and Viccy
i301.photobucket.com/albums/nn49/rooTheDay_album/Baldr741.jpg
They got Viccy back up, but left Jaheira down to enjoy the extra exp. It worked and Viertes made a level in Thief.

i301.photobucket.com/albums/nn49/rooTheDay_album/Baldr747.jpg
aaannnd Viccy fell again
i301.photobucket.com/albums/nn49/rooTheDay_album/Baldr748.jpg
(by the way... check out the damage potential)
i301.photobucket.com/albums/nn49/rooTheDay_album/Baldr749.jpg
And
Immy dropped too
i301.photobucket.com/albums/nn49/rooTheDay_album/Baldr753.jpg

But Viertes was pretty good at survival.
i301.photobucket.com/albums/nn49/rooTheDay_album/Baldr756.jpg
i301.photobucket.com/albums/nn49/rooTheDay_album/Baldr757.jpg
i301.photobucket.com/albums/nn49/rooTheDay_album/Baldr758.jpg

With the gates open, she decided to pick off a few mind flayers to gain some exp.
i301.photobucket.com/albums/nn49/rooTheDay_album/Baldr761.jpg

making heavy use of invisibility.  It actually wasn't that hard to pick off the occasional mind flayer, since she had a couple places she could rest, lots of invisibility, boots of speed, and (basically) immunity to psionics.
So she stayed there until she got her level:
i301.photobucket.com/albums/nn49/rooTheDay_album/Baldr772.jpg

And got her first Ability
i301.photobucket.com/albums/nn49/rooTheDay_album/Baldr773.jpg
So she headed back to the surface
i301.photobucket.com/albums/nn49/rooTheDay_album/Baldr774.jpg

When she got back, she got attacked by the giths.
i301.photobucket.com/albums/nn49/rooTheDay_album/Baldr775.jpg
i301.photobucket.com/albums/nn49/rooTheDay_album/Baldr775.jpg

It wasn't a hard fight. Viertes ran into the inn, since she didn't want to cast spells in the city for concern of the red wizards. This had the side effect of spreading out the giths.

By the end, she stopped at the temple to get her party back. Decided to drop Jaheira and Immy to reform the party.
Jaheira just didn't hang on. Her Druid spells were useful, but not overly so. Her fighter skills were helpful, but not enough to keep her from dropping.
So... thinking about dropping Immy and Jaheira and getting Keldorn and giving him the holy sword. With some nice armor and girdle of giant strength, he could be pretty tough.

Anyway,
here's viertes
i301.photobucket.com/albums/nn49/rooTheDay_album/Baldr781.jpg
and
Viccy
i301.photobucket.com/albums/nn49/rooTheDay_album/Baldr782.jpg

Next, they're heading off to pick up Keldorn and then maybe Watchers Keep? not sure.

Quick Note on Alastria's Game:

Alastria is currently working her way through the Planar Sphere. She recently fought the Halflings, and while it wasn't an especially difficult fight, it's a good one for illustrating her tactics. Some might find this interesting.

Pre-Battle

Buffs: Melf's Minute Meteors, Stoneskins, Spell Shield, Spell Turning, Non-Detection, Polymorph Self, Shield, Blur, Mirror Image, Pro Evil, Shadow Door, Improved Haste, Globe of Invulnerability, Spell Immunity: E, Spell Immunity: C, Spell Immunity: A

Minor Sequencer: Web, Web

Sequencer: 3 Telefields (unused)

The Plan

1. Use Pre-Buffs to foil magical attacks and neutralize warriors with Web and -if needed- Telefield sequencers.

2. Remove Mogadish's spells from the action while Kayardi, Togan, et al. are incapable of attacking. Stay in human form while Karyadi spends his high level stuff. Keep aura clear and be ready to counter with a potion or quick cast spell if needed.

3. After Mogadish is dead -and before the first Spell Immunities run out- refresh SI:A and activate II via Ring of Air Control (with Non-Detection still running). Next, Polymorph into Spider form, buffed with Improved Haste and Draw on Holy Might (activated after shifting). Finish Warriors before II via Air Control runs out.

4. Once Warriors are dead, Polymorph: Mustard Jelly and kill Kayardi.

Execution

Phase 1

Alastria opens with her Minor Sequencer, and begins her Meteor assault on Mogadish.

http://i1195.photobu...arSphere006.jpg

Kayardi- Casts Horrid Wilting: Alastria
Comment: But with negative saving thows and the Belt of Inertial Barrier, it isn't very scary.

Alastria- Vampiric Touch: Halfling Warrior (restoring lost hit points)

http://i1195.photobu...arSphere008.jpg

Kayardi- Casts Sphere of Chaos: Alastria
Comment: Alastria's saving throws are negative and she's running SI:E so Malison isn't a concern. Nonetheless, the Sphere isn't a good place to be.

Alastria- Moves out of Sphere, resumes assault on Mogadish.

Mogadish- Death

Phase 2

As planned: Warriors fall to the Spider while Kayardi stands and watches.

Phase 3

Again, as planned. Though a re-buff was needed since Polymorph Self expired. She activated her second Air Control Ring before Polymorph Self lapsed so Kayradi wouldn't have a window.

For kicks, she finished Kayardi using a Ghoul Touch scroll in Spider form.

Good luck Shadow, and glad to see you are back B. where.

Excellent job on the halflings Alesia. Its nice to see a well-thought out battle plan come to fruition.

Urgo is back in the race. Finally figured out which Mel to spawn, and she gave the right speech. Not sure if I will have time to finish this (one way or the other) before I leave, but I will give it a shot.

making heavy use of invisibility.  It actually wasn't that hard to pick off the occasional mind flayer, since she had a couple places she could rest, lots of invisibility, boots of speed, and (basically) immunity to psionics.
So she stayed there until she got her level:

Nice job escaping the Underdark with the party dead. It's always a bit dicey with no temples down there.

It's been a couple of weeks since I posted on Europa and her randomly generated party, but they're alive and making good progress.

Before leaving for Spellhold the party cleared out the secret mind flayer base in the sewers, but the HoT requires 18 strength, so isn't useful to our dwarven priestess atm.

Also we get the Daystar from the lich in the city gates, Radeel cast PW:Silence on him to interrupt his TS and the lich fell quickly to the Mace of Disruption.

The party suffered our first death in the Spellhold Maze, we'd already used Ilbratha for the day - I play through this place without resting for rp reasons - and the undead outside the library got a string of lucky hits on Nikolai, I tried to pull him out of battle to heal but the skeletal archer finished him off. Nikolai was the only casualty, with the rest of the dungeon being really easy. I joined with Imoen to escape because otherwise the trip to Spellhold seems kinda pointless.

Took Saemon's offer to leave the Island by ship, but first killed Desharik - he strikes me as one of the most despicable characters in the game, apart from Neb - and ended up in the shark city, which was also fairly straightforward.

In the Underdark I chose to fight the death knights first, I remembered at the last second that they like to cast fireballs and used a potion of icedust just in time. Saved the gnome village from the demon and started the Ust Natha quests. I wanted to forge the equalizer so we had to clear out both the beholder and mind flayer tunnels; To minimize the risk we entered the beholder area under invisibility, surrounded the elder orb and shot him with an arrow of dispelling (faster than breaching), he didn't last long and we managed to clear the map without using either the shield or the cloak of cheese, and no deaths - although I kept my PC out of sight range of the adult beholders as she has a non-zero save vs death.

The mind flayer city was also relatively easy, with three divine casters we have enough CC spells for everyone: The umber hulks and brain golems were actually more dangerous, but they were few.

Returned Adalons eggs, and left the Underdark without further ado. Back in Athkatla we forged Crom Faer (not sure of the wisdom of this, as most of my party have mediocre strength scores, the individual components might have been more useful) and Equalizer and buy the Defender of Easthaven and Robe of Vecna (I may nerf this item to give only a +2 casting speed bonus as it's very overpowered). About this time I changed Karenina's avatar to human because the halfling avatars are strangely glitchy on my install, and while I was at it I gave Radeel crossbow proficiency, not strictly kosher but it's a little dull to have everyone using slings as their ranged weapon, and I like the idea of mages with crossbows.

Current party lineup: Nikolai, dwarf plain fighter; Jariel, halfling swashbuckler; Karenina, halfling cleric of Helm; Shvanana, dwarf priestess; Europa, human avenger druid; Radeel, half elf conjurer. I'm quite happy with the party, made it Ch. 6 with only 1 death on insane difficulty and I'm optimistic about their chances. Next up will be Twisted Rune and elf city.

@Angiras108, good to see you found the right one. I have the same problem with my installation and it took me some time to realize what I had to do, too, when I encountered this bug with my random party. Luckily, it didn't have any bad consequences later on (I think I met a Melissan-clone at wachter's keep for some reason, but she didn't do anything and didn't have any impact on the game).

I will propably post another update for Titania today, have been busy lately. Good luck to all of you!

Kayardi- Casts Sphere of Chaos: Alastria
Comment: Alastria's saving throws are negative and she's running SI:E so Malison isn't a concern. Nonetheless, the Sphere isn't a good place to be.

I've never really encountered this spell before, is it like a super chaos?

BTW good job with the crazy hobbits :o
