Has everyone seen the changes I made to the topic post (the first post)? See here for the specifics. Basically though, I put in a few rules we were going by that weren't explicitly mentioned there initially, as well as successful TRILOGY no-reloaders list. If I am missing someone, see the link above for details I need from you then PM me that information, thank you.

Hi all.
I still haven't decided whether I'm going to continue Alyssa's game or not (she can do interesting things but buffing away all threats and then running around chunking stuff gets terribly dull...). I thought I'd post on her as yet uncovered adventures nonetheless starting with Bodhi's Lair.
Bodhi's Lair
Alyssa's descent into Bodhi's lair began with a simple observation: being spiders did not work out too well for the spiders- they were too weak, too slow and too vulnerable.

But being an eight-legged freak seemed to have it's perks what with the poison and extra attacks and all, so Alyssa thought she'd give it a try- with a few tweaks of course: buffs, blades, and backstabs.

Meleeing at 8APR.

Backstabbing.

Backstabbing at 8 Apr.

It's not hard to see that this isn't going to work out too well for Bodhi...

I'll fill in coverage of the Planar Prison, Watcher's Keep, and the Undersark when i get the chance.
Best,
A.
@Corey- Glad to see Reklan 2 back in action. Enjoy!

Alesia, I'd thought I let you know I intend to copy my BG 2 install directory then install SCS on it of some form..Reklan is doing much better than I thought he would, for a human...anyways, doing the above when Reklan dies or miraculously defeats Melissan.

Makes sense: I think it's time. You've made big strides in terms of defense and aura management recently.
If you are going to go modded, I'd recommend trying Ascension as well: it's a nice piece of work. Ascension can be tricky with the SCS scripts, but it isn't so bad with the original ones.
Reklan is doing much better than I thought he would, for a human...
I'm glad you are enjoying him. Kensai->Thieves can be devastating. Missing out on the save bonus is a drawback, but UAI gives you so many ways to foil disablers it needn't be a problem. My Bounty Hunter is a human and she doesn't run into issues on that front (I do permit her a lot of item swapping though).
Best of luck! I'm rooting for him.anyways, doing the above when Reklan dies or miraculously defeats Melissan.
Cheers,
A.

Well, part of the reason to do this is to evaluate SCS on its own merits - adding other mods may make it hard for me to remember what effect is SCS and what is the other mod, not to mention bugs once a while occur with mod conflicts. I know USSNorway has run into her fair share of those, even runs ending due to bugs.

I agree UAI completely changes the defensive landscape for my Kensai/Thief. However, still need 1.2 million experience for that, so have to survive until them without it.

Thanks! I wasn't sure if ***** in quarterstaff was a gross error or not, but so far not regretting it.

Kitthix webs Prebek as I kill Sanasha, then I rest until dawn before heading to the Harper headquarters. Montaron turns out to be Lucette and Xzar is assassinated before my eyes. I use DUHM to break down a secret door in the Ships Bounty and half a dozen healing potions are glugged fighting pirates.
Cohrvale and Breig web nicely, then I hand 15000gp to Gaelan Bayle. From there I return to the sewers, deal with a trio of myconids with a non-proficient Lilacor and glug another half dozen potions fighting slavers. Kitthix webs Haegan for a quick kill then I rest before killing the remaining slavers.
Aran Linvail gives me an unworkable amulet and wants me to guard Mook. Azuredge and an oil of speed might work. It goes better unlike my second screenshot that doesn't work but a second hit sends him away with a third for good measure than I imagined and Aran Linvail has another job for me. Some ruffians are the wrong side of the oil of speed, then an ambush is tougher with a lightning bolt being painful. I kill the caster and leave, then out-run muggers in the Bridge district to heal at a temple.
I keep Jaylos and Caehan talking long enough for Gracen to turn up and fight all three together. My DUHM and kai quickly finish off the thieves but the oil of speed wears off before I can attack Gracen. This leads to a third task for Aran Linvail, but first I speak to the priests and paladins in the temple district then Tolgerias and Sir Sarles in the government district.
The graveyard district sees me kill a few spiders, then four grimwards with the help of Kitthix. An oil of speed and Azuredge (edge) accounts for Gellal, a fledgling vampire and a greater ghoul. Lesson from Grond0 - I never remember: A clay golem requires blunt magical weapons so I switch to the FoA +2/Staff mace and un-make it. I decide to rest after staking a vampire.
I edge another fledgling vampire before it can reach Kitthix but a greater ghoul requires two hits and badly wounds Kitthix. At least this makes me realise I should have glugged another oil of speed after my rest, and do so before continuing further. Three hits are required to edge Durst then I retrieve a mace from a pool of blood. A final fledgling vampire is edged before I depart.
Unger Hilldark points me in the direction of Neb, I upset Sir Sarles and observe a master Cromwell at work. Chief Inspector Brega is glad to receive the head of Neb, Sir Sarles is not pleased with the tarnished alloy but it is exactly to the liking of High Watcher Oisig.
Kensai 12. 547 kills (including BG1). ***** long sword, ** two weapon style, * axe.

Doh! Lost a post by a typo...let's try this again.
Firkraag's lair cleared, mostly by backstabs though undead used scroll for them. Conster couldn't survive 4 thief snares. Below is an example what Firkraag's minions had to take from Reklan:

Stuff I am leaving until I return: Twisted Rune hide-out, both dragons, illithids in sewers, Unseeing Eye quest.
Both minor temple quests were completed, for experience and the illithium -- the illithium was forged into the IMoD.
For perhaps the first time ever (for my characters), practically the entire vampire coven of Bodhi's was backstabbed to death! Not even Picenon attempted that (Picenon just tanked). In fact, there were only 2 enemies that died differently - Tanova's most dangerous spells drawn out by Reklan's summons (one at a time) - even so, could not backstab her (to kill her), eventually had to tank to kill her. Bodhi couldn't survive 5 snares.

2.8 million experience, probably get UAI somewhere in spelhold. I have a lot equipment ready to be used when that happens...assuming it does.

Reklan made his way to spellhold, and backstabbed Perth the Adept for the wardstone. Reklan then encountered level draining mists, so equipped IMoD off-hand. At the top level saw some shadows and thought, ah IMoD should do well there too right? No, WRONG. Some of the shadows were shadow fiends! Which meant the correct off-hand weapon was the Arbane. This error of weapons ended being Reklan's death (he got held).

RIP Reklan. The higher save vs. death hurt this encounter (e.g, claw of Kazgarath).
Will try to copy my install and put on SCS.

Since Reklan bit it, I am bouncing back with a new character. Reklan had a lot of issues with saves, being human, so this time around, going to bounce back with a gnome berserker, who should do a bit better in that department. This is basically a "sighting" run, to see how far I can get with SCS, if anywhere.

Inspired by Reklan's recent chunky backstabs and the memory of Frab's legendary wallop (while still being bored with Alyssa's game) I decided to try my hand at massive backstab damage. There's nothing new here really. Frab had the essential logic of massive backstab damage down: maximize your own output of course, but remember that when it comes to massive backstab damage who you bring with you matters more than who you are.
Frab's Assassin->Cleric brought a party of Bards and their Simulacrums. Makes sense. My girl Alo decided to be a little less deliberate (Misleading you might say...) If Frab's backstab was a Broadway production, Alo's is the soulless Vegas razzle-dazzle floor show version that no one ever really needed.
With that said here it is: The Most Brutal Backstab I Will Ever Land (so named because I have no intention of going through this much trouble for a backstab again...).
Alo is an Assasin->Cleric who dabbles in molecular biology. Her first move was to clone Haer'Daelis. Her 5 Haer'Daelis' then prepared to clone themselves loading Triggers and Contingencies with Misleads.
First the Triggers, yielding a respectable little gathering of Haer'Daelis.

After the Haeryies emptyied their books, it was time to trigger the Contingencies. Mr. Efreeti did the honors.

The faithful have gathered: Enter the Cow.

You may be wondering why Alo bothered with the Chant here: just for the sheer ritual insanity of it. A hundred crooning Bards, a buffed up Iron Golem, a harmless Cow...Cleary we need a Chant to fill out the scene...
Alo got in position behind the Cow and...and...Total dud.

The crowd was pretty angry at this point: they wanted their money back- some of them even started leaving. But wait! There's another cow! The Merry Haeries gather to chear Alo on one more time.

And this time Alo delivers.

Just in time too: the MIsleads were about to start unsummoning.
Anyhoo. That's all for the interlude. I hope some of you enjoyed it (even if it was a totally pointless tangent).

@Corey- Sorry to see Reklan go that way. Which SCS components did you install? Can you share your Weidu log?
It's almost ironic in a way - the shadow fiends got him once due to a bug -- this time they get him fair and square! I guess you can't escape your destiny - it was Reklan's destiny to get eaten by shadow fiends.
As to your question - no idea. Someone needs to lay out the steps I need to do to find and then how to show my weidu log on the forum.

When you install SCS II (or any other weidu mod) there will be a weidu.log file created in your game folder. As you add/remove mods it will be modified. A text editor (notepad, wordpad I guess) can be used to view this and you can copy/paste the contents here. Easy to check once you've added a mod.
Sounds simple enough. I will post it once I get home It's 10:18 am PST my time when I made this post, will be home in about 5 hours.

Not too sure about that Grond0, I'm glugging a LOT of extra healing potions and being very selective about what is done and how it is done.Grond0 wrote...
@ Gate70, corey_russell. Nice to see kensais showing how it should be done for a change!
Managing OK where I can pre-buff with DUHM and Arbane haste, even with this something else can make it tricky - had two of this bunch left after flattening the casters only for a vampiric mist to wander round to me and force use of the mace - chose to keep Arbane as not sure if the mists could hold too.

@Gate70: You ARE Using the Shield amulet, aren't you? Reklan used that item extensively to boost his AC it's Kensai usable. You get it from a trapped chest bottom level of D'Arnise Keep, just before fighting the Spirit troll and his two friends, who in turn are just before the umberhulks. For Reklan, it boosted his AC from 2 to -4, which was a big help.

I'm tending not to bother with containers that could be trapped for the moment (a legacy of the first NR multiplayer run where I died opening a wardrobe in a Brynnlaw house - I just don't know or remember what BG2 traps are where) & I haven't visited the basement yet either. Was about to get the cloak of the sewers when I posted above to see if the rat form gives me some options, and also look at other possible options. The game crashed at the sea troll/otyugh - I seem to be getting a lot of crashes in this install that I don't get in my other installs.
Do you sell & buy-back the amulet or has it got a suitable number of charges to see you through a fair whack of the game (I suppose I ought to find out for myself but that could be days away).
