Grond takes two hasted skeleton warriors for a walk. They are joined by a berserk warrior, flesh golem and minor summons while dealing with beholders, gauth and mind flayers. A rest sees Pot Gauthed...
Posted Image

We rest again - this time with a few summons and snares around; a peaceful night ensues before Pot is raised and re-equipped. Another rest is asking for trouble; despite our precautions Cassia and Pot are gauthed. Krimlor realises he is being foolhardy.

We rest back in the main cavern and raise them, taking care to rest with invisibility 10'.Grond observes two beholders and an elder orb, then several more gauth. Various summons haste their way through this lot and the area is finally clear.

The illithid fighting pits are next. Simyaz offers a deal and we have no choice but to accept. Alesia is annoyed to find three snares at the edge of our cell fail to spring when the ogre jailor turns ugly, so we carve him up the old fashioned way instead.

Cassia has Improved Haste while everybody else and two skeleton warriors has haste. A swathe of brainsuckers are cut down easily (& record speed for me, Pot with IH and haste casting is making a huge indirect contribution) until we face the master brain. Krimlor has to glug two extra healers, Cassia, a skeleton warrior and an aerial servant are all confused while a flesh golem, Pot and Krimlor are stunned as the master brain and brain golems perish. Blackstrider dispels what he can as stun/confusion is a nasty combination particularly with a servant involved...and only the stuns remain.

Pot. Mage 13. 61 kills. Ulitharid.
Blackstrider. Blade 16. 126 kills. Balor.

Simyaz turns nasty and is badly injured by a trio of snares and quickly finished off. On to Ust Natha.
Cassia struggles against Laosonar before tearing Chalinthra to pieces. Pot uses a flesh golem and invisible stalker to silence three mages. A series of beasts are removed in another pit then we find Solaufein. He wants us to intercept some illithid, but on the way Grond spots Boz and co waiting for us. We draw them towards us and it is a veritable slaughter.

With the battle over we start to loot their corpses, only to realise N'ashtar is in the midst of us and has mazed Blackstrider. He's soon dead and we wait for the bard to return, then wipe out illithid and umber hulks alike to rescue Phaere.

From there we kill Qilue, a beholder and negotiate with the swirf to take a helmet from them. We pretend to kill Solaufeinext and then Krimlor and Phaere retire for the evening. Phaere discovers she has a beholder eye instead of an elder orb eye and Krimlor is tasked with retrieving the real thing. Or failing that, an illithid master brain blood or royal kuo-toa blood.

(As usual I have all three in advance so I can deal with Deirex. Occasionally Deirex is killed as the cut-scene activates, see here).

We return with the items and hand over all three. Phaere wants us back at her quarters but we just have time to deal with various oozes and slimes before meeting her. She hands us some fake dragons eggs, and Solaufein hands us some more.

Alesia grabs the real dragon eggs and gulps an invisibility potion before realising she needs to leave the Phaere fake eggs behind. A second potion of invisibility helps her escape.
The Mother Matron and then Phaere are killed by their summoned Lesser Demom Lord before we banish it once more. On our way out we purchase, equip and release the human slaves. Adalon thanks us for returning her eggs and escorts us to the Underdark exit.

Various drow items bio-degrade in daylight so we change our equipment. Cassia has new spells she wishes to try so Blackstrider agrees to lead again as we reach the Small Teeth Pass and continue into the North Forest.

He is petrified by a Dao djinn - luckily Krimlor has three scrolls handy. The remaining area is soon cleared but instead of heading to the Forest of Tethir Krimlor suggests we ought to put an end to his religious obligations. Such dedication. On our way we decline the assistance of Drizzt and his colleagues.

Kruin the gith is waiting for us in the temple district, able to cast arcane spells without fear while we cannot retaliate. Our weapons and divine spells suffice though and we drop into the sewers to rest.

Tarnor the Hatchetman fancies his chances, and is torn asunder despite half a dozen kobolds joining in. Keldorn refuses to help us so we kill a mustard jelly and sea troll. As we head to Roger the Fence we are attacked by a beholder and two gauth (unexpected). Pot glugs an extra healer to stay alive and we meet Roger after a few more moments. Cassia and Pot have run out of bullets so the mage will rely on spells while Cassia will take front-spot again. Blackstrider reluctantly steps back. Gaal has a job for us while Sassar requires the opposite. Meanwhile...Alesia starts us off with a triple-snare...Posted Image

The Feeder Pit is reatively safe, although Cassia is wounded the undead cannot follow when Krimlor turns them. Grond takes a hasted walk with some skeleton warriors, an aerial servant, a Mordy and an invisible stalker. The Unseeing Eye arrives onto, yes you've guessed it, 3 snares.

2nd response. It didn’t feel that early but there is a lot of the early-game stuff left.

Saw this after prepping my post. I was going to do a lot of what I skipped earlier, & there is a lot of it.

With the rod destroyed only Gaal remains to be dealt with. Alesia shows her class.

Krimlor has to track Gaal down, the Elite Guards snared as a result. With the cult disbanded it is time to update the church. On the way we rescue Haer’Dalis and fence some goods with Roger. Several tasks later Krimlor has completed his duties and can get on with the rest of his life. Aran Linvail decides to have some assassins on stand-by and Krimlor is unable to convince them otherwise (didn’t realise a conversation would lead to that). They might have to wait a fair while while we tie up loose ends.

To Cromwell then, resulting in the Equalizer, the Short Bow of Gesen and the Silver Sword.

An ambush by  “fake Krimlor and friends” don’t last long - the Gesen bow wielded by Grond is something to behold. A second ambush is concluded equally quickly.

Nalia is sent to the safety of the Copper Coronet while we investigate the de’Arnise Keep. Alesia and her Firetooth crossbow flames a troll before it can kill the first servant we encounter (this is new to me, never had that person survive before).

Keeping the dogs alive means Blackstrider has to melee a group of hungry umber hulks. His mirror image and stoneskin last long enough to absorb most of the attacks and the battle is over before he has to retreat. He re-buffs and we continue on to Torgal, who has spectral, spritual and giant trolls by his side. Blackstrider adds a defensive spin mid battle and Alesia finishes each troll as it hits the floor.

After forging the Flail of Ages it is time to leave. We may have saved the keep but having told Nalia to clear off she won't listen to us at the Copper Coronet and hence is unaware of the fate of her father.

Blackstrider. Blade 18. 162 kills (112 BG2). 2 deaths. Balor.

Blackstrider takes some time off while fighting the Elemental Lich (mazed), leaving Grond to tidy up.

Grond takes some time off while fighting the Twisted Rune (petrified), (not sure if this image works, photobucket playing up with it) but Krimlor recognises how vital the archer is and recalls him mid battle. After the battle we purchase 5 more stone to flesh scrolls.

Kangaxx the lich sees red, while Grond makes sure Kangaxx the Demi Lich gets a suitable shock.

The Planar Prison is a hellish place (mainly because I stupidly went clockwise for a change).

Alesia is first to be resurrected.
Grond is second, and third.
Pot is  fourth and fifth.
The cell with two golems and three captains was responsible for one of Grond’s deaths but Blackstrider was running for his life while Krimlor was running with 3hp. Had 2-3 minutes of thinking the game was over.

(The game crashed as we emerged from the prison - most recent save is entering the prison so got to do it all over again. Will be going anti-clockwise)

(I wish; Improved Sendai then Improved Abazigal are unlikely to be party-friendly if I get that far. Anyway, just a minor update below)

Krimlor & friends (but for how long)
(last save is after first Planar Prison cell, so Alesia retains her FOD death and Grond one of his deaths. Sorry - also note how close to death Krimlor was).

The Prison is closed down at the second attempt, no party deaths but a couple of close calls, including where Grond healed a stunned Krimlor over a stunned Cassia. Grond was under the effect of Chaotic Command (confused THACO of -5 was a major issue last time).

Krimlor has an epiphany - his boots of speed repeatedly brought him into trouble in the Planar Prison. He sits and thinks but is unable to come up with a suitable solution until he shares the problem. Cassia suggests she takes the boots and we have two melee fighters - an excellent suggestion. Blackstrider suggests she take Belm while he uses Kundane instead - another good idea. Grond is glad to have his buddy safe at the back of the party with Alesia and Pot completing the magical sandwich.

Grond spots the un-natural signs of the undead as we approach the temple ruins so we work out a plan. Blackstrider switches to Azuredge while handing Cassia the AoP. Alesia and Pot will stay in reserve for anything nasty. Grond sticks with his bow but keeps the IMoD close while Krimlor hums a catchy turn undead tune that even Blackstrider can’t master.

Cassia and Anath get on like cats and dogs, then we clear the wilderness (stop staring at that rocky outcrop like your job is on the line Grond). Krimlor sanctuary-turns the undead flanking Anath and then Cassia approaches to turn a huge mirror. Once we are underground Krimlor realises his turning ability (level 12) is not good enough to fight the more powerful undead down here; so we fight instead. After freeing Mazzy Fentan we find a huge stone idol. Blackstrider ignores the poor clerical advice from Krimlor and correctly bluffs all nine answers.

Various undead, including two liches, are destroyed and then we deal with Thaxxy. It looks to be a reasonable start with doom and greater malison eventually sticking. After adding insect plague then insect summons Cassia moves in for melee only for Pot to finish with a Magic Missile.

The Improved Shade Lord is pleased to see we have failed to rest & re-buff - our assumption is that weapons will be required and our buffs will only be partially successful. His level drains are brutal, his blade barrier more so but Blackstrider hangs in to the bitter end.

Madulf and the mayor can look after Umar as we head on to Windspear Hills. The dryads there finally teach Blackstrider how to dual wield and he grins manically. A speed-run sees us clear everything up to and including Conster, and then we head downstairs to finish Firkraag. A  Tenser helps Blackstrider do a fine job of melee while Pot casts Pierce Shield. A second doom works but we have forgotten to memorise any greater malisons, so spell sequencers and more spells fire volleys of Magic Missiles. Grond is hitting with his lightning bow (should have activated Called Shot). Krimlor is something of a passenger as is a buffeted Cassia, but his summoned aerial servant is not and fells the huge dragon.

Time for a lesson, which goes so well that a hastened Alesia decides to disarm a trap - but is blocked by Krimlor and runs around a pillar thus standing on the trap. We head into the temple for a rest so Krimlor can raise her. Our visit to the secret illithid lair is more successful but a later trip to the City Gates is less impressive.

An all-night drinking session ensues and various plans are discussed. We’ve almost bled the city dry of work and can’t think of anything left to do other than hunt down Valygar, deal with Bodhi or investigate Watchers Keep (have I missed anything significant).

Krimlor asks Grond to go back to the City Gate lich room and search carefully for Pot’s lost finger which must have been err blown off in the heat of battle. Grond refuses until Krimlor points out the archer has the sharpest of eyes and keenest of senses, so we leave him to it. We nip to Umar, recruit Valygar, return to the Slums and open up the Planar Sphere before telling Valygar he’s on his own. Then we race back to Grond who had just about given up on us and ask if he’s had any luck. Pot is careful to keep his finger bent until Cassia rubs some ointment on it and loudly states that it will grow back in no time.

As we head towards the Planar Sphere Grond asks how we’re going to get inside. Good question, good question. This Rod of Wonder opened it barely moments ago...

Krimlor knows full well that normally Grond wouldn’t be so easily deceived but it was a good drinking session and even the dwarf is feeling a bit groggy. Cassia is annoyingly cheery with her catlike constitution of 25 and Alesia only survived the night by borrowing the girdle of fortitude from Pot.

Blackstrider and Cassia lead us through the Planar Sphere until we reach Lavok. They hesitate while facing him and then charge but the damage is done - Krimlor crawling away (just seen he saved & still took 80 damage) while Pot, Alesia and Grond are not so fortunate. Krimlor only has one spell memorised so raises Grond, who grabs his bow and strikes a series of shots into Lavok to help Blackstrider. Once Lavok is mortally wounded we rest so Alesia and Pot can be raised AGAIN. Krimlor can hardly look at them, knowing his carelessness is costing the party dear and he’s beginning to lose count of the revivals.

More care is taken with Tolgerias, and with ice/fire chambers. Krimlor even stops after retrieving one Tanar’ri heart when he could try for all three. Lavok expires outside at dawn after beqeathing his ring of wizardry to Alesia. We head to the Copper Coronet to sell some loot and consider our next action.

Blackstrider. Blade 21. 270 kills. 2 deaths. Balor.
Cassia. Shapeshifter 14. 513 kills. 8 deaths. Perth the Adept.
Alesia. Mage 13 Thief 15. 173 kills. 6 deaths. Shangalar.
Pot. Mage 16. 95 kills. 5 deaths. Thaxll’ssillyia.
Krimlor. Fighter 13 Cleric 13. 337 kills. Adamantite Golem..
Grond. Archer 16. 570 kills. 5 deaths. Kangaxx the Demi Lich.

Ug, now I remember why I gave up on my previous solo sorcerer attempts. My game cheats.

Silenceall went throught the Coronet sewers and got Lilacor, yeah. He rested and buffed before having a go at Captain Hagen. He entered from the sewers under Improved Invisibility, went to the wall at the left and cast Emotion. It knocked out everyone in range except the cleric. No problem, the meteors will disrupt anything he can do to me. Round 1 he casts defensive harmony or strength of one or something else forgetable. I'm thinking, hmm, I thought I would have disrupted that, but who cares. Round 2, Silenceall gets off a sunfire and numerous meteor hits and the stinkin cleric still casts dispel magic. (No, I don't have uninteruptable spells installed.) The dispel wakes up all of his friends and removes all Silenceall's buffs, including stoneskins. Game over.

I've had similar problems in the Docks with the Mad Priest of Talos where I'm pummelling him with meteors and he still gets a hold person off...

At least I didn't invest a whole lot of time on this run.

Grond0/Gate70 multiplayer attempt 12: Khrang (Grond0, protaganist) and Khrog (Gate70). Initial update.

A rapid run through BG1 for this combination of barbarian and monk.  These characters have plenty of potential, but they are still both pretty fragile so care will be needed for quite a while to allow them to progress.

The opening session just saw them through the dungeon.  There was no trouble there in completing all encounters, including killing Ulvaryl before she could get into bat form.  Khrog took on scouting duties and also regularly stunned opponents, while Khrang avoided being stunned in dangerous situations (such as the elemental plane) using his rage.

Here are their current character records - both with slightly low XPs so far.

Stats (continued from BG1)
Khrang, barbarian 8, 92 HPs, 335 kills.
Khrog, monk 8, 53 HPs, 135 kills, 2 deaths.

Sorry for your loss Silence all. You're not the only one who has lost a character by expecting to disrupt a divine caster: I've done the same.

As an aside, I always make a point of taking SI before facing casters. I either take it as my first L5 or take Sunfire first and then delay caster encounters until I get my second slot.

I'm curious: what was the reasoning behind taking Animate Dead early?

@Grond0- Wow! Khrang is crazy unlikeable (Charisma: 2). Is it his personality, or just the fact that he's a balding dwarf running around in skivvies?

Time to shop. The purchase of potions and scrolls is offset by the sale of missiles and trinkets. Our potion stock is so extensive we have to store some of it at Watchers Keep to the chagrin of Alesia. She’s worried that someone will steal our 13 potions of power; Krimlor reminds her that Odren stands guard and only doppelgangers of ourselves could gain entry. Blackstrider snorts with laughter at her fears then becomes deadly serious as Krimlor unloads a cache of weapons into the container too. Hang on a minute, are you sure it is really safe here Krimlor?

More potions are gathered while dealing with Anarg and his fallen paladins. We carefully buff inside then Alesia casts a mirror image to foil Anarg without thinking. We have our first/only warning about the use of arcane magic - it’s enough to make you want to leave the city for good.

Bodhi is waiting for us at the graveyard with company. She leaves and her companions are defeated. After finding a suitable entrance underground we set about our grim task. Valen tries to distract us as a fledgling vampire attacks from the rear and connects with Grond’s IMoD. With the observant ranger at our rear we can focus our attacks elsewhere and Valen is soon back in her box which Blackstrider stakes her into. He does the same to Del and we move on.

Salia, Tanova, Hareishan. Then Bodhi. She has a brief reprieve while the remaining Grimwarders are culled then Blackstrider drives a single stake into her chest and pulls out her blackened heart.

(that's everything done in the city so expect the next update will be the Forest of Tethir then Suldanessar. Have added current character shots below to show who has what - Krimlor has most of the spare items we can't afford to lose in case someone is chunked)

Blackstrider. Blade 22. 284 kills. 2 deaths. Balor.
Cassia. Shapeshifter 14. 527 kills. 8 deaths. Perth the Adept.
Alesia. Mage 13 Thief 16. 174 kills. 6 deaths. Shangalar.
Pot. Mage 17. 97 kills. 5 deaths. Thaxll’ssillyia.
Krimlor. Fighter 13 Cleric 14. 338 kills. Adamantite Golem.
Grond. Archer 16. 582 kills. 4 deaths. Bodhi.

Blackstrider stakes another vampire on our way out (one of Salia, Hareishan, Tanova at a guess) then we deal with the final city job, the most dangerous of deeds. After waiting in the graveyard all night we have nearly given up, and then Pot points to our journal. There is is, on day 142 hour 3 - put the spirit of Wellyn to rest. That was 80 days ago so we can be forgiven for not remembering we’d already helped his passing on.

We have all the parts available for Cromwell to forge Crom Faeyr but much as Krimlor desires the hammer what remains of his common sense tells him that the sum of the parts is more valuable to the party than a mere weapon. Besides, he’s heard rumours of another mighty weapon somewhere in the realms that would serve equally well..

The Forest of Tethyr is a dark forboding place, more so when Coran tries his usual ingratiating welcome. We’ve shunned you before elf and we’ll shun you again, but as he leaves we decide to loot his hut. There are a few items of value there but maybe he has the best gear on him, so we decide to catch him up. We arrive to see him meet Safana and Lanfear, and then we are under attack. Only the six of us survive so we pick up their belongings and clear the rest of the forest. Krimlor removes paralysis after Alesia is held by Kuo-toa but she was never in any danger.

Elhan shows us the entrance to Suldanessellar (they’ve added more letters since we first heard of the place) but Pot wants to rest first, even this far up a fallen tree. He has some head for heights while Cassia seems equally at home, but the rest of us half sleep half cling until dawn.

Elhan asks us to hurry, so we cut from south-east to north-west and down some steps where we encounter Nizidramanii’yt. Blackstrider calls for his DragonSlayer sword but he is too far from Krimlor to reach it. First Pot then Cassia catch and throw the sword and Blackstrider takes a swing. The dragon turns from his mirrors and buffets Cassia away, but a greater malison and pierce shield have both worked.

Blackstrider is caught by the buffet too despite being completely the other side. Both he and Cassia return but Niz is glowering at Pot now. Our foolhardy mage has stoneskin and mirrors, refusing to stop casting Kelbens whip. Grond realises he should use a Called Shot and then we notice an insect plague closing on Pot. Grond, Krimlor and Alesia spread away from him as he glugs a regeneration potion, then they return to give him the Gaxx and regeneration rings. He also grabs Alesias regenerating ioun stone.

With Pot vaguely under control we return to help Cassia and Blackstrider who have Niz badly injured. Blackstrider takes two hits as his stoneskin collapses and fails to cast another so Cassia is now under attack. Blackstrider heroically/foolishly returns despite his many wounds (41/91hp) but has to run away immediately. Pot and Cassia glug extra healers. Blackstrider is still waiting for his aura to clear for a stoneskin and Cassia is risking life and limb by remaining while Niz looks the other way. As Grond turns to heal Pot his lightning arrow completes the job.

Cassia shapeshifts; between her and Grond they manage to keep Pot alive until the insects disperse.[/b]

With the black dragon dead we rest, buff and head back into Suldanessellar. Grond wants to get on with it but Blackstrider is keen to scrutinise the entire area. Right up until being held by Raamilat while Cassia has her fur subjected to a meteor storm that singes Pot too. With Blackstrider alone and held Krimlor decides to rush over and remove the paralysis, but has to brave meteors and a pit fiend. He arrives from full health to 21/89hp but frees Blackstrider as the final mirror image is removed by a Nabassu.

The party are stranded from Blackstrider & Krimlor. Blackstrider moves to block the pit fiend but Krimlor only needs one hit with his dwarven thrower to kill it. Blackstrider switches to the Nabassu to avoid the fireshield and buffs of Raamilat while Krimlor glugs an extra healer. Raamilat starts an incantus at Blackstrider so Krimlor moves away but is just caught by a sunfire (back to 22/89hp so the glug was a lifesaver).

Blackstrider has been held again and is now taking damage. The meteors subside so the rest of the party move in as Krimlor hits the Nabassu with the thrower then casts his second remove paralysis. Blackstrider is around half health so glugs an extra healer as Cassia joins him. Pot one-shots the Nabassu with a bullet as Grond and his electrical bow hit Raamilat through various buffs to disrupt his next spell.

Raamilat casts or contingencies Improved Mantle but Grond won’t take no for an answer - his shots hitting repeatedly and each causing damage plus disrupting spells until Raamilat is no more. Alesia and her Firetooth crossbow may also have helped (sorry, didn't notice).

(The Gesen bow is awesome with an archer, screenshot here of Improved Mantle doing no good at all. Should probably have let Blackstrider die there as Krimlor almost perished).

A group of rakshasa cause us problems so we rest after dealing with them and perform a serious buff before exploring inside the buildings. The temple of Rillifane is first, a buffed Suneer falling to Grond as Cassia kills a rakshasa. The Iron Golem and Glabrezu last another round or so between them.

One by one the buildings are investigated until the avatar of Rillifane is released. Then it is time to find Ellesime and Jonoleth. Krimlor realises his companions should each be able to decide if they wish to proceed so he asks them. One by one they answer.

Blackstrider wishes to pit his skills against Irenicus.
Cassia wants to try and balance him for his crimes against nature.
Alesia won’t forget those two potions of power he caused her to lose after defeating Sarevok.
Pot. Well, he’s the silent type but wants to study an unparalled mage at work.
Grond wouldn’t leave anyone in the lurch and his bow shall rain justice down mercilessly.

Time to end this. A few questions are raised about our buffs but Krimlor brushes them aside - Irenicus will focus on the nearest enemy; won’t he?

Wrong. After four of her traps wound Irenicus Alesia is killed by an ice storm in timestop. Krimlor raises her just as Pot is caught by a power word kill, so Krimlor races over to grab both their equipment and return to Alesia and Cassia. As he does so Cassia is dropped by a second power word kill so Alesia grabs her gear. Blackstrider is stunned so Krimlor removes his paralysis. Alesia casts a couple of spells while retrieving her crossbow from Krimlor.

Grond has been patiently testing the defences of our foe, and his persistence finally pays off. Irenicus has a final trick up his sleeve though, dragging us all to the hells where we find Pot and Cassia are alive once more. Or maybe the rest of us are as dead as them?

It appears we will have to face Irenicus again and Krimlor promises to be more prepared for what may come. He starts by re-uniting Cassia, Alesia and Pot with their equipment hastily gathered mid-battle.

... he glugs a regeneration potion, then they return to give him the Gaxx and regeneration rings. He also grabs Alesias regenerating ioun stone.

Thanks for that

I rambled on about regeneration here, then decided to move it to it's own thread so as not to derail anyone.

@Gate70 - perhaps you didn't realize this, but it's quite unnecessary to gather equipment of fallen comrades at the Tree of Life fight (unless you need an item that a fallen comrade had during the battle). The game will automatically put all equipment under the PC when you go to Hell. So once you arrive in Hell, just go to inventory screen and hand people their stuff.

Without a mod, though the same is NOT true for fighting Irenicus in Hell - you do lose stuff if you don't pick the stuff up before winning the battle and heading to ToB.

As an aside, I always make a point of taking SI before facing casters. I either take it as my first L5 or take Sunfire first and then delay caster encounters until I get my second slot.

I'm curious: what was the reasoning behind taking Animate Dead early?

Stupidity, mostly.  I had decided to fashion this character with more offensive capabilities and skelly warriors seemed to fit that bill (probably at the eventual cost of Spell Shield).  Of course you don't get the warriors until the caster is level 15, but it was a no reload and I took the spell before remembering that detail.

I realize this probably OT, but...I did some testing with Silenceall vs. the Haegan Priest of Cyric.  He always casts (actually it seemed like a special ability because it didn't say "cast" in the dialog box) Strength of One first and then, after waiting for aura to clear, casts Remove Magic.  (I'll leave aside the fact that priests don't have access to Remove...) For each test I entered Improved Invisible and attempted different tactics to avoid getting hit with the Remove.  I tried each tactic several times and always got the same result.
1. Do no harm to priest: his strength works, he lets aura clear and casts Remove Magic.
2. Fire meteors non-stop: His Strength worked, he started casting Remove, a meteor hits and does damage, spell disruption message appears immediately followed by Cast: Remove Magic message (it actually casts earlier than if I had not damaged him at all).  Clearly the disruption completes the casting in this case.
3. Sunfire and meteor follow-up:  His Strenght casts, but he's killed before starting Remove
4. Other attacks, spells, etc.:  Unless the attacks kill him before he starts casting Remove, Remove is cast upon disruption as in test 2 above.

Anyone know a) how priests are getting Remove Magic and more importantly B) what the hell is force-casting the Remove upon disruption?

Krimlor & friends The Tears of Bhaal offer choices. Krimlor chooses the path of light each time. Wraith Sarevok works through stoneskin and mirror image, forcing Blackstrider to re-apply both. Cassia is extremely relieved to see Krimlor sacrifice his own health instead of her life. Krimlor foolishly lets Blackstrider play with three Elder Orbs, and without SI:A active the errant Blade is soon imprisoned. Krimlor hands Alesia the only Freedom scroll and she summons him back. Our golem and skeleton warriors deal with the orbs. Careless again...

Alesia has laid seven snares out ready for Irenicus and his minions. At first nothing seems to happen but then the four demons collapse as one and Slayer Irenicus is badly wounded. A volley of attacks sees him scream while stood by the Tears, and then he and Krimlor are transported south for Irenicus to die without any further action. Ellesime thanks us and suggests we take a walk in the nearby glade.

The proximity to the 2.95m xp soft-cap is something I didn't expect - from 9,306 to 49,555 above. I think the death tally is correct but not 100% certain.

Blackstrider. Blade 23 310 kills. 2 deaths, 1 imprisonment. Balor. 2,999,555 xp.
Cassia. Shapeshifter 14. 558 kills. 9 deaths. Perth the Adept. 2,995,355 xp.
Alesia. Mage 13 Thief 16. 178 kills. 7 deaths. Shangalar. 2,968,958 xp.
Pot. Mage 17. 100 kills. 6 deaths. Thaxll’ssillyia. 2,958,567 xp.
Krimlor. Fighter 14 Cleric 14. 366 kills. Adamantite Golem. 2,959,306 xp.
Grond. Archer 17. 614 kills. 4 deaths. Bodhi. 2,969,253 xp.
