Ashanti, Elven Beastmaster: The Planar SphereI have a bit of time before my flight leaves, so I thought I'd dart off a post on Ashanti's adventures in the Planar Sphere. She had a close call here actually- one that illustrates the dangers of running with a thin potion collection.
The opening battle with the feral halflings went reasonably well- Ashanti was properly equipped for that fight.
Once again, she opened with animals on the field while surveying the action Hidden in Shadows. When Kitthix succeeded in Webbing Entu, she joined one of her Mountain Bears in finishing him.

It was back to the Shadows for Ashanti after that. Kitthix continued to make progress however.

Frustrated with Ashanti's stealth tactics, Kayardi called a pair of Cornugans. Ashanti layered in her Lightning protection buffs in response.

As those of you who have been following my character's runs are aware, my cunning and subtle tactic for dealing with summoned demons is "Run away!" I decided to have Ashanti take them down, however, for the benefit of those who would prefer to kill them. Lightning protection + Movement Rate Advantage-> Ranged Weapons is the safest way to take the Cornugons down. They aren't too tough in melee for a Level 15 Beastmaster, but there are two dangers worth noting here. First: each time they hit you, have to make an unmodified Save v. Breath to avoid Stun (That wasn't a problem for Ashanti due to her items- inclunding the BoIB amongst others). Second: each hit poisons and the damage adds up. Here we see Ashanti Badly Wounded after taking down the first.

The poison is, however, foilable with a Pro Poison scroll. Ashanti had one in place when she nixed the second.

With the demons down, it was time to finish the casters. Standard range weapon take downs here.
Mogadish.

Kayardi.

Onto Lavok (And Ashanti's closet call of BGII)
The battle started well enough- though Cave Bear was nixed by Lavok's Wilting chain.

Hide in Shadows + Cloak of Non-Detection foiled his True Sight and caused his Time Stop to expire uneventfully, but when Ashanti went for the range weapon based kill, she was caught off guad by a triple Lightning Bolt Spell Sequencer.

Ashanti had the space and the clear aura she needed to counter, but what she lacked was the potion. She had arrived in the Planar Sphere with a Pro Lightning Scroll and a Potion of Insulation, but those were consumed against the Cornugons. Rolling into a lock in quest without a deep energy attack defense collection was a major strategic error. Fortunately, Ashanti survived- due in part to a well timed healing potion quaff.

Ultimately, she was able to finish Lavok at range- with the aid of Lavok's Mordy Sword interestingly enough. The Mordy had turned on Lavok after it was caught in the AoE of a Sunfire.

Demon heart time. Ashanti's animal ran distraction while she pounded away with the Sling of Seeking.

Eventually, the Tanar'ii wisely chose to target Ashanti herself. Playing it safe, she pulled back and finished with her sling.

All that was left was to rescue the remaining animals.

I let Ashanti dual-wield here in the interest of saving time and -hopefully- the life of her last Lion. Happily, he survived.
Fin!

I'll resume posting on Ashanti in a few days. Once again, best of luck everyone!
