@Alesia, Serg: I would love for Serg to use a "Corey Russell" character as part of his crew - Serg, if interested, e-mail coreypajajosh AT hotmail.com and I would be happy to e-mail you the two potraits you would need. Also I made a soundset using my own voice, so if you want to use that I can e-mail that too.
@Alesia: Now that you mention, all the times that I can recall cloudkill bypassing MR was in fact the wand - perhaps it is a bug after all - I will check the in game description of the spell in my vanilla install when I have time and when at my home computer (no BG at work, naturally).

Awesome. That would be a particularly cool way for Serg to move on from Cassia's death.

Makes sense.
(Except for the part about not having BG at work: Why wouldn't you have BG at work?)
Best,
A.

Indeed, though without SCS installed there's little risk. It makes no difference to the gameplay, but I reckon anyone aspiring to godhood should have good stats.corey_russell wrote...
@Grond0: You just can't resist using that Rod of Terror, can you? It's pull of 25 CHA must be pretty strong, since hasn't it ended two of your runs so far?
Poseur - dwarf swashbuckler
Cleared the de'Arnise Hold without problems - got to level 16. However, a trip back to Athkatla in the middle to deal with guild matters was slightly odd. Poseur ambushed Ama and her would-be ambushers and I thought paid Renal at the same time, but he got a message that he'd lost the guild anyway - easy come, easy go. Back in the city the thieves were still working for him, but his guild shop was closed - not sure if that's intended behaviour or not.

Serg has obtained my portraits, character file and sound set, so he appears to have decided to act on this suggestion. He's facing Bodhi soon, but my character is an undead hunter, so looks like I might be of some use after all despite my low level compared to the rest of his team. Amazingly he's never used a player character paladin before, so this his first use of an undead hunter - fortunately a paladin is pretty easy to use - just tell him to attack!

Oh, I can play BG - if I want to lose my job. But supporting my family comes before BG (at it does until I stumble upon 10 million dollars or so..)...by the way I did read the vanilla description of cloudkill and it doesn't say anything about magic resistance, so it does indeed appear like a bug. This will change use of the cloudkill wands slightly for me - I will still use them, but won't use them as cheese, such as against Firkraag - will give that dragon a fairer fight next time...

Well so far so good… yes we made it out of the dungeon but let’s be honest, it’s not like anyone is really surprised.
p.s. I can’t wait to see a corey_russell paladin join the crew.

My house rules i.e. Avenger kit +Tashia I’m not rapted about the pic so I selected a different (alternative2) one... perhaps I'll adjust her spells as well.

Edit: while in the mood for tackling parties, Captain Dennis & co were taken down - though the captain did survive 2 traps and made Poseur take a potion of invisibility to stay safe.
Edit2: and for a sterner (and fatal) challenge went to the Guarded Compound. Took several goes to kill the efreeti thanks to its gaseous form. Short of time I didn't then pay enough attention to what Sion was doing. He had cast true sight while I was killing Maferan downstairs and that dispelled Poseur's stealth - the mage immediately followed up with power word: stun (pity I hadn't finished Maferan off with a VT to get Poseur into safe HP territory).

With Cassia gone we had now intentions to stay in that cursed city any longer so just freed the Human slaves, destroyed the Cult of Ghaunadaur and then advanced in the main line - obtained the Adalon's Eggs, provided Phaere with Solaufein's fake ones, witnessed Matron Ardulace' and Phaere' demise and then left the city for good (wish them rot forever in that doomed place...).
Brought the Eggs to Adalon and with her help fought through the war party near exit of the Underdark. Than fought a bit further (Krimlor is less effective as a tank than Cassia without Dex burst so BlackStrider took that role) and finally reached a long waited fresh air.
Elhan asked our assistance to obtain a Lanthorn which was stolen by Bodhi (and she became even stronger with Imoen's soul stolen as well) so our nearest goal is to gather allies to assault Bodhi once and for all. First we met Drizzt with his Crew and enlisted them for the task. Then, upon arriving in Small Teeth Pass, we met Corey Russell, a valiant Undead Hunter most suited for our task and we offer him to join the Crue which he gladly accepted.
Editors note: I added Corey in *ToB-Style NPCs*[/b] manner and as all other Crue members have an average 3050000 exp I just SK 2950000 exp for Corey (a vanilla SoA cap or ToB starting exp level). Here are his Character sheet and current inventory. As you could remember the idea of the Avatars was to bring our *RL ourselfs* in terms of stat values so his Int score (6) is a bit doubtful for a chess-master. It would be a Paladin's minimal requirements that influenced the other ones as well, I think, but I could change them via ShadowKeeper now - after joining him in the Crue. Nonetheless I'm very grateful to Corey for allowing me to lead his avatar with Cassia' gone and for the opportunity to try out the Paladin character - the first time in all of my uncountable runs.

So, the current state:
BlackStrider: Blade (23), 221 kills (Shade Lord);
Alesia The Curious: Mage (14)/Thief (16), 95 kills (Shade Lich); (1 death);
Grond The Pathfinder: Archer (18), 317 kills (Bone Golem); (1 death);
Krimlor: Fighter (14)/Cleric (14), 370 kills (Kangaxx the Demi-Lich); (1 death);
Pot The Selfless: Mage (18), 63 kills (Beholder); (2 death);
Corey Russel: Undead Hunter (17) - just joined.
Cassia The Furious: Shapeshifter(14), 484 kills (Alchra Diagott); (4 death); Gone... We will be miss you...
to be continued...

Thanks, Alesia! I'm glad as well. And yes, I would prefer the more *real* stats so just need Corey provide the ones.
Edit: sad news, Grond0...
Edit2: BTW, I have one question but don't want to start a separate thread as its not that important but I'm just a bit confused...
Up to the point: it looks like (at least in my install) that spell Invisibility 10' Radius has not only incorrect duration (fixed in g3 fixpack) but incorrect area of effect range as well. For me it works only if upon casting it the party members are very close to the person who cast it (literally right near him) while for Protection from Evil 10' Radius it works for far more wider range.
Does any of you experienced such a strange behaviour?

Yes. The radius on Pro Evil 10' Radius is significantly larger than that on Invisibility 10' Radius.
The range on Pro Evil 10' is actually closer to that of Pixie Dust (which is described as having a range of "around 30 feet").
The true range on Invisibility 10' seems to be about 5'.
Best,
A.
EDIT: My dwarven cleric, Abigail, illustrating the effective ranges on the aforementioned spells.
Abigail buffs Jan with Pro Evil 10'.

Jan can't return the favor with Invisibility 10'.

Abigail Pro Evils Cernd.

Cernd replies with Pixie Dust.

Abigail steps further away and can now reach the slightly closer Jan but not Cernd.

Abigail is now just outside of Cernd's Pixie Dust range as well.

STR 15 DEX 16 CON 16 INT 16 WIS 15 CHA 17
Corey
Justification:
STR - I should be able to wear plate mail, just barely though, hence 15
DEX - I am very good at throwing and catching things, dogding OK too though rarely have to dodge in RL, but doubt the best so 16 instead of 18
CON - I tend to resist sickness very well - my family is often sick and despite being all around them and coughed at, I just don't get sick, but my running endurance isn't as good. I know CON is supposed to represent both so thus 16 and not 18
INT - I am clearly above average intelligence, but not genius, so 16 instead of 18
WIS - I tend to make wise decisions, avoid common pitfalls (alcoholism, drugs, etc.) but once in a while make a wisdom mistake so 15 here.
CHA - actually, I am good with talking to people (tactful, diplomatic) even those I don't know. Doubt I am the best out there though so 17 CHA.
@Grond0 - sorry to hear about your fatal mistake.
@everyone - it's a myth that a chessmaster needs to be super intelligent to be a strong chess player - there is only two skills that someone needs to be a master chess player - excellent spatial reasoning and a good memory

Traveling with: Minsc, Jaheira, Anomen, Yoshimo, Nalia
Corgrunt and gang met a hostile party in a warehouse. We concentrated our fire on the mage and once he went down, the rest weren't too much trouble to mop up.
We found a berserker horn in a house filled with traps.
We figured out the skinner murderer was the Tanner Reijek - he got away, but we killed his rune assassins and ghasts he sent after us. Haste, bless, chant and true seeing were pretty effective here.
A lich was found in a house with a petrification trap on its door. He was defeated easily with a pro undead scroll.
We entered a Planar Prison. The divine caster buffs kept Corgrunt safe, no one died. Yoshimo defeated the Master of Thralls by directing a fire elemental (x2) and ariel servant to attack him, Yoshimo didn't even need to attack. He defeated the Warden the same way - he tried to use his darts of stunning that he found, but the pets killed the Warden before he could use them...we avoided fighting the trash in the mouth portals and got out of there.
We are working on the Kangaxx "quest" next, hence to the temple district..

Well, in RL, if we were walking down a street, and we got into a fight with some ruffians, you would want me on your side...I am tenacious, and will fight fiercely if I believe in my cause. In other words, if there is a confrontation, having me on your side would be an asset.
