thanks Serg for your answer. Is this removed when playing on Normal setting in stead of Core rules?
Because I really never seen him do that.

I will remember it for next time. These kind of things you will remember when playing a no reload challenge :D

also Sapphire thanks for your answer!

1 more question I also tried reloading and doing Kangaxx after that but even with the sling +5 I couldnt kill his demi lich form. He kept regenerating fast than I could hit. How should I kill him?

I don't know if this removed on Normal (I don't think I ever played on that setting) but I have my doubts... May be he/she will use breath attack less frequent then but that just a guess.

About Kangaxx. He need +4 weapon to hurt him in Demi-Lich form and his regeneration is from Ring of Gaxx I presume. I had not much issues with his regeneration rate (much less annoying then say of Greater Wolfwere) and you could use Daystar sword (double damage vs undead), Mace of Disruption +2 (upgraded), Staff of Rynn (from Adventurer's Mart), Sunstone bullets from Umar Hills Temple Ruins, Sling of Everard and Melf's Minute Meteors (if not nerfed by SCS).

Daystar is particularly effective against Kangaxx. He has quite high physical resistance, as well as his regeneration, which makes it difficult for a solo player to kill him with most weapons. However, Daystar's 'double' damage is not coded as physical so the bonus damage does several times as much as the basic hit.

I did have the Daystar and Azureus? Axe on me. But i thought they werent strong enough for the demi lich form.

I used only Viconia with the sling. I guess that was my error. It did 1point of damage which was regenerated before the next slingshot hit.

Something to remember for the next run

Thank you all for tour help.

Which mod allows you to summon ghasts? (I can see it's not a return of Tiax mod anyway)

I'm using components of Ascension, SCSII and G3 Tweaks but I don't think any of those mods affect Animate Dead. I think I remember summoning ghasts using this spell with vanilla SoA/ToB too. Under the description for Animate Dead it looks like Ghast is listed as the creature summoned before hitting level 15.

The rebel prince had the ring of free action and the king gave us belm - I won't be exploiting that "use belm in the offhand for an extra attack with a better weapon" bug, but belm is not a bad weapon in itself so Valygar will use it for a while (except when he's using his family sword for backstabs).

Is using belm as an off hand really an exploit? I'm using celestial fury in main hand with belm in off-hand for the attack bonus but it has its downsides as well. During my run so far I've encountered plenty of monsters that cannot be damaged by a +2 weapon so I switch belm out for another +3 weapon in those cases, otherwise many of my landed hits do nothing.

A couple of other weapons you can use are the giantkin hammer from De'Arnise keep and flame tongue sword from the druid grove. Kangaxx's demilich form can be pretty annoying on a solo character but you can keep him in from of the coffin when he tries to flee from you (yellow circle instead of red circle beneath him) with some microing so he cannot get past you on the narrow bridge.

Bahaha… Well, that's sure a way how to end a run. By not knowing what a spell did.
I made it out of Irenicus' dungeon without resting - terribly low on potions, especially after botching the Lightning wand trap 3-4 times, but still functional. Aerie was saved, Quayle was saved… Also managed to complete the Harper's Hold quest, which was a first for me. But then on to Trademeet...

Apparently, I accidentally Greater Command'd while my party was in the area, and all of my characters failed the saving throw while all the Greater Trolls in the troll mound saved against it. Well, now that I know how that one works... Back to BG1, it seems.

Zakaril Solo Half Elf fighter/mage/thief update 3 (Final update):

Zakaril has completed a number of quests since last posting. These include eliminating the Cult of the Unseeing Eye, Umar hills murders, Windspear hills and I went back to clean up the monsters left behind at the druid grove. The Cult wasn't terribly difficult save for the pesky beholders which a combination of skull traps and minions took care of. As for the Umar hills murders, the Shade Lord nearly went down after one backstab but was quickly finished off thereafter along with his Alter and Shade Patrick. Both Thaxy and Firkraag went down a little too easily each falling soon after a time stop trap + GWW combo. I think I'll beef up the health of the remaining dragons so the fights last a bit longer. I had packed up Valygar in my bag, well 70 pounds of him anyway to gain entry into the planar sphere. The planar sphere quest went smoothly and I returned to my home plane successfully. Minus 9000gp but some Knights of Solamnia are aided by Ribald of the Adventurer's Mart. With pretty much everyone done before setting sail with Saemon Backstabarian I return to finishing Aran's questline.

Upon arrival to Brynnlaw Saemon sics three vampires on me. Nice of him to feed me some easy xp, I'll have to thank him later. After reassuring Ginia that I'd help get her and her brother off of the island I head to Perth's house to poke him in the back in exchange for his asylum wardstone. He also dropped a promising looking Book of Infinite spells. The first spell listed wasn't to my liking so I flip the page to see whats next,

Image IPB

That didn't turn out too well.  I lended a hand to a girl named Claire who needed help breaking out of jail as there was some xp to be had. Soon after entering the asylum the puzzles and baddies were sped through and I set sail, again, with Saemon. I was waylayed briefly at the Sahuagin City before entering the Underdark. The quests here were speedily completed as well. I would like to take a second to thank Vithal, the trapped mage, for the time stop scroll and the Kua-Toa Dungeon inhabitants for dinging me to 18th level mage so that I could cast it, I'm most grateful. The Beholder and Mind Flayer dungeons were cleared with a little more caution but plenty of Skeleton Warriors lead Zakaril to victory.

I agreed to help Adalon get her eggs back to her and infiltrated the drow city of Ust Natha. After much running about for Solaufein and Phaere I retrieve Adalon's eggs and cross both the Matron Mother Ardulace and Phaere in the process resulting in their deaths. I had planned on trying to kill Adalon after she had teleported me to the exit in the Kua Toa dungeon but I had already cleared the exit way when I was there previously. This meant that Adalon dimension doored away right after her farewell dialogue ended so I didn't have time to cast timestop or gamble with a finger of death/disintegrate, oh well. Drizzt and company weren't quite so lucky. When approached by the troupe Zakaril promptly denied their offer for assistance and drew his blades instead. Drizzt was the first target after casting time stop, then I proceeded to cast a prepared sequencer containing fire shield red, blue and spirit armor. Without enough time to cast stoneskin or ProMW Zakaril did take a good bit of damage and had to dance around a bit to finish off the rest of the group but was victorious in the end.

I arrived back in Athkatla only to be followed by Kruin and his lackeys demanding I hand over a silver blade. I didn't have much use for it myself but his tone alone was enough the fight that came next. Bel, a nearby merchant, seemed interested in the blade and hilt which he compensated me a couple hundred gp for. Cromwell was able to forge Crom Faeyr, for troll killing purposes, after collecting the hammer of thunderbolts from the small mind flayer lair in the sewers beneath the Temple district.

The final task to Zakaril would like to complete before heading for Bodhi is the Twisted Rune. He carefully thinks about what spells he'll need for the encounter, powers out an 8 hour nap then quaffs a number of potions before offering up a Rogue stone to enter. A cluster of traps kills Shanglar, the lich, instantly. Staggered back a bit towards the short staircase I've place a couple of time stop traps. Summons lure in the vampire Shyressa who triggers a time stop trap which is my cue to rush in. I'm able to GWW down the vamp and Revenak but must retreat out of sight of Vaxall the beholder. Next my skeleton warriors are sent in to do battle with Vaxall. Unfortuneately Layne, the mage, ends up killing Vaxall with a meteor storm, denying me some xp. All thats left to do is cast time stop and hack down Layne; the battle is won.

Image IPB

After this I head to the graveyard and tear through all the vampires and Bodhi herself. I may as well clean up the shades and other baddies in the forest areas near the elven city of Suldenessellar. In the North Forest I am met by a couple of Djinn types which are dispatched quickly. I'm aware of the hostile group a bit farther south in the zone so I cast time stop and dash over there to hack everything down as usual. I arrive and target the mage which I soon realize is protected by stoneskin so I move onto the next target and slash him up a bit. The damage I was able to do during the time stop's duration was much less than I had anticipated. I retreat north to where I had some presummoned minions. On my way to them I notice a purple ball of magical energy hurtling towards me, its a maze spell...damn. With no spell immunity handy I am doomed and so ends Zarakril's run.

Sorry to hear the end of Zarakril. That area is actually pretty dangerous, if solo I always skip it, since don't need the experience at all. I had a thief/cleric human dual character and he was killed in one round by two djinns who threw fireballs at the party - entire party but me lived and I didn't have any fire resist gear and lousy saves as human and thus died...

 No-Reload Challenge attempt # 6:

This time around I'll be trying out a Sorcerer, "Dominus," for the first time. I'll recruit Jan Jansen to complete the duo; traps are always a pain. I will probably be playing quite a bit more slowly and carefully seeing as this is a new class for me. I'm playing on Core difficulty and will be using SCSII, Ascension, G3 Tweaks and Dungeon Be Gone.

In the original game animate dead just summons skeletons before caster level 15. Mind you, I don't think ghasts are really unbalanced for level 5 arcane animate dead (carrion summons, a level 6 spell also summons paralyzing critters). Ghasts would be overpowered for a level 3 priest spell though.

Imo it's taking advantage of a unintended engine glitch, like dual classing a ranger to a cleric to get access to the high level druid spells. Since most players do it anyway I'd be wasting my time objecting to it...

Experience aside, in vanilla BG2 the mage with the group has a Time Stop scroll. However, his first action is to read it (and also to trigger a mislead spell making him untargettable... I think, it's been a while since I played vanilla). Immediate PW:Stun on the mage is probably the best way to stop him using the scroll.

Oh well, hopefully Dominus will get that mage. Not planning to use wish with this sorcerer?

Are you sure it wasn't a spirit troll casting greater command? They tend to do that if you install the SCS option for enhanced spirit trolls. Greater command is party friendly anyway with the fixpack.

Also, spells like that never work on trolls. The only debuffs that work on trolls are slow and blindness. Oh, and web, but that's an annoyance as a troll can't do it's "lie down and become vulnerable to fire/acid" death script while webbed.

I wish. No, I cast it myself for certain, I just didn't know its full effects and shouldn't have tried it against 3 Greater trolls of all things.

What tactics do you plan on using with Dominus? Evocation + Spell protections for the most part, or going to do something a bit "off" like Alesia's melee-focused sorceress?

As polytope says Greater Command is a party friendly spell. Therefore if your own spell did affect you that probably reflects a problem with your installation. From plenty of nasty personal experiences though it would certainly be possible for a spirit troll to have cast it at you before you even realised it was there.

I've actually not used wish much, if at all. Which effects of the spell are you referring to?

Dominus will definitely be avoiding melee combat, he values his hps too much. My basic plan is to have buffed summons tanking while Dominus & Jan debuff and deal out spell damage. I would also like to play around with domination type spells so I may pick some of those spells sooner rather than later.

It's definitely my version of the spell; I reloaded to just before that happened and tried casting it against into the midst of a combat, and again affected everything. Turns out that there was a bug that made it target everything at certain levels, and only became party-friendly at higher levels. I don't think I'll count this as a bug, and just continue with a new character; kind of like the whole sphere of chaos debate, in my opinion.

Gate70/Grond0 multiplayer attempt 31 - (update 2)
Ivy, human blackguard (Grond0) & Derva, human inquisitor (Gate70)

The cops overcame a dodgy start to make decent inroads into Athkatla.

After putting the Circus and the Copper Coronet under new management they travelled around for a while until silly Suna Seni decided to try his luck in an ambush.  After picking up the berserker horn in the Bridge District they had a go at the skinner quest.  Derva died for the first time here when the game kicked her out of the inventory screen of the trapped bed.  Going back in immediately she triggered the lightning trap for the second time, which proved one too many.  After visiting the nearby temple, Derva led the way downstairs - using Arbane to defend against the ghasts.  There was only one Rune Assassin there, but he proved unwilling to abandon chasing Derva and caught Derva as she ran up the stairs - so after going through BG1 without any deaths she suffered a second demise in 5 minutes.

There was an easier time in the sewers under the Copper Coronet as Ivy picked up Lilarcor as her main weapon.  The slavers proved easier than I expected.  The guards around Capt Haegan struggled to hit Derva's moderate AC and she finished that combat still with comfortable HPs without having needed any healing; the mages were foiled by Derva's use of the RoAC and quickly finished off with Blackguard poison.

A trip to Watcher's Keep picked up the potion case (vampiric wraiths were waiting inside, so that was left for later).  Back in Athkatla the cops started to track down the ring of Gaxx.  In the Temple sewers Roger's troll and the rakshasa were removed and the Unseeing Eye quest started to get access to the first lich.  A scroll of undead protection and a potion of speed each made short work of that.  Straight on to the City Gates where a potion of frost giant strength and DUHM broke down the door to the lich to get access to Daystar.  There was a bit of a delay in the Bridge District when a cutscene with Neera triggered.  However, buffs other than DUHM were still running as they arrived at the lich hide-out there; a scroll of protection from petrification allowed Derva to safely open the door to slaughter the lich.  The potions of speed expired on arrival at the Docks, where another DUHM opened Kangaxx's door.  However, there was still plenty of time left on the scrolls so the cops proceeded downstairs at their normal pace.  They huddled around the demi-lich form to prevent it running scared, but in the event the bonus damage from Daystar resulted in Kangaxx dying before his morale broke anyway.

Stats:
Ivy, blackguard 9, 101 HPs (incl. 5 from Helm), 153 kills
Derva, inquisitor 9, 89 HPs, 89 kills, 2 deaths

So here we go again, this time with Fixpack installed… This could get interesting as G3's currently down and the only version of the read-me's in there, and I don't know exactly what they fixed. Live and learn, I guess.
Shilo the CG Elf Archer from BGEE: stats are here with the exception of Hitpoints: they should be at 72, but were modified by the potion of Heroism.

Right, so the dungeon was finished without resting yet again, taking everyone with me. Nothing really dicey happened here… And then everything started going interestingly.
Aerie is rescued and added to the party, and Kalah is quickly destroyed by a group attack. A few spells were memorized and extra items sold before heading over to the slums to meet Gael. I head over to Umar to take over my keep ASAP, but in those two transitions I manage to get ambushed twice and have to return Rylock to the Docks. Meh. And then I encountered that first Vampire, and I stupidly attacked her without the weapons needed to do any significant damage against her. Cue going to the Temple district to remove 3 level drains…

Shilo, sadly, nearly managed to get myself killed by Prebek as a lightning bolt bounced around his house, striking him twice as he was under the effect of Horror. Fortunately no other AoE spells were tossed around before I ended the two. The rest of Xzar's quest proceeded smoothly.

Off to Trademeet to get to Umar - when carelessness strikes. Nothing permanent, but in the Umar caves I managed to get both Jaheira and Aerie slain by Umber Hulks. Back to Trademeet to get them resurrected. And while Shilo was there… he picked up Cernd to be my second full-time Divine caster, (Jaheira's being dropped,) and continued to do the Trademeet quest line. This went… Well enough, I guess, with the minor problems of having to use Harper's call 3 times in the area. Thankfully no chunks since all of the deaths were due to spell damage, but still…

Shadow druids are dealt with, I try to finish up the other Trademeet quests, so off to fight 3 Rakshasa. Aerie was killed during this fight due to her panicking under 3 Cloudkills that they managed to simultaneously drop. Victorious, though. Jaheira is then summoned back to Harper's hold just as I intended for her to raise Aerie. Cue another trip to Trademeet, where I'm currently going to wait before continuing. I don't think Shilo's going to last much longer if this streak is anything to judge by. Certainly going to have to trade a few characters to get someone that can actually absorb damage to have any chance of survival.

Human Sorcerer Dominus update 1:

Dominus has emerged from CI dungeon be gone version unscathed. He sells what he won't be using in his packs and barely has 5000gp, just enough to buy a casting licence. Jan Jansen, conveniently in the Government district, joins the group after fibbing to the passerby guard about turnip solicitation. In a buidling nearby we purchase a magic casting licence. After reordering Jan's spellbook, which had spells seemingly picked at random, we call it a day and sleep for 8 hours or so. Hendak is in need of assistance so we free him and observe as he clashes blades with Lehtinan. At this point, after Jan learned a number of spells Dominus is level 11. Being a sorcerer it would be a good idea to note my spell selections:

Level 1: Armor, Blindness, Chromatic Orb, Magic Missile, Shield
Level 2: Melf's Acid Arrow, Glitterdust, Detect Invisibility, Mirror Image, Resist Fear
Level 3: Haste, Melf's Minute Meteors, Hold Person, Monster Summoning I
Level 4: Stone Skin, Contagion, Spider Spawn
Level 5: Animate Undead, Spell Immunity

If I could change any of those selections then I'd get something other than Monster Summoning I as it is rather useless in hindsight. Anyways, back to the duo's progress. We've acquired Lilicor for the xp and sell value cash. The slaver compound was infiltrated and cleared without incident. Dominating a hotile wizard and promptly having him cast skull trap on his comrades and himself was amusing. Next stop is the bridge district to pick up the warrior summoning horn and solve the skinner murders. After this we make quick work of Kalah at the circus with a couple of magic missiles and ranged weapon attacks. We killed Roger's sea troll and kited around the Rakshasa for his cloak of the sewers. Back in the promenade we took on Mencar and his group. The mage successfully hit both Jan and Dominus with a confusion spell leaving them helpless as they watched their summons get hacked to bits before going to work on our stoneskins. Luckily the confusion wore off before too many hits were landed and both of us drank a potion of invis to regroup and summon more minions.Brennan fleed before anyone could land a fatal blow but the rest were not so lucky. Dominus dinged lvl 12 after the fight with the Captain Dennis earning my first lvl 6 spell.

Level 6: Power Word Silence

Enemy casters have been troublesome so far as was seen in the fight with Mencar. PWS should also come in handy when dealing with the druids in the upcoming druid grove and with casters in general. Proceeding with Trademeet quests I did indeed find power word silence quite useful. In the druid grove the Ihtafeer proved to be the most challenging encounter as they are very difficult to hit with physical attacks, for Dominus and Jan anyhow, and magic. This includes anything I was able to summon; ghasts/sword spiders, both dealing ineffective strikes. They were eventually brought down with a long series of MMM and kiting. The retrieval of the Mantle of Waukeen for the high merchant was a messy and sloppy fight. At separate occasions both Dominus and Jan were Held by enemy ghasts. A Trademeet mage also ended up getting involved but unfortuneately died. Seen below are all of the summoned fodder from both sides of the fight.

Image IPB

Before leaving Trademeet we lend a hand to Tiris and restore his to be wife. Now to dispense of some coin that is beginning to weigh me down. We return to Athkatla and buy an RoAC for Jan  and the robe of vecna/sling of everard for Dominus leaving the group with just under 2000gp. On our way to Talos for Mae'Var we stumble upon Renfeld and return him to his friends. While in the docks we also help Xzar locate a bird which ends up not being Montaron as he had hoped. Turning in the necklace to Mae'Var got Dominus lvl 13 which earned him the following spells:

Level 4: Emotion
Level 5: Chaos
Level 6: Death Spell

The duo completed the Renal questline and grabbed his boots of speed before heading over to the planar prison to get Jan a pair as well. After buffing up with potions and protective spells we enter the planar prison invisible. Dominus silences the mage casting true sight but he simply casts vocalize moments later. Jan uses a charge of monster summoning for some quick meat shields. After this is a good example of how Greater Malison + Emotion can be a winning combination.

Image IPB

Presently I am crashing when I sleep in the planar prison. I'll have to resolve that before moving forward.

Edit: It looks like it may have something to do with giving dragons more staying power with SCSII, no idea how that interacts with planar prison if at all. In any case, with dragons health reverted to normal, whether that was the cause or not, I was able to sleep without crashing in planar prison and progress out of the dungeon.

Corbeast the Human Beastmaster - Update 3:
Traveling with: Minsc, Korgan, Anomen, Yoshimo, Nalia

Corbeast is still alive. The team has cleared the D'Arnise Keep of enemies. Our weapons weren't very good, but we did fine nevertheless. The golems were almost challenging, for once we had to loot the containers and activate them, as we needed to the weapons to hurt them. As always when Nalia's in the group, I had her solo the iron golem - she goes into Flind form and uses the halberd to kill the golem in the doorway. Much better than gulping millions of heal potions trying to fight in 1-hand weapon range. She takes no damage this way, as she is just out of the cloud area effect. Torgal got killed by Nalia's cloudkill (fitting).

We also got a magic license (no, not going to have a run end to Cowlies again). And we encouraged Anomen to take the lawful path concerning his sister. We talked to Tolgerias, but basically turned him down since he isn't going to help us finding Imoen.

Last action was freeing Hendak. Poor enemy Beastmaster didn't even get an attack in, as he was defeated by Nalia's web/cloudkill. The remaining minions were defeated pretty easily by Minsc and Korgan and the guards couldn't put up much of a fight either. The mages/clerics near Hendak, were defeated by Arbane in Minsc's off-hand and Korgan enraged - the rest of the party waited it out, pretty certain our meatshields didn't need our help (they didn't).

Will try to take on the slavers in the moored ship next session.

Sarisah the Assassin Update 1

Image IPB

When exiting Irenicus' Dungeon Sarisah freed the Circus from Kalah and his Illusions. After this Sarisah's party went on a mandatory trip to the slums. After talking to Gaelan Bayle and agreeing to the sum of money to pay we went on our way to the Copper Coronet. In the copper coronet we let Nalia and Anomen join our Party. We freed Hendak and the Slaves. We went down to the sewers to get Lillarcor. We didnt enter the Slaver Compound.

After obtaining Lillarcor it was time to confront the Crypt King. With some troubles we managed to defeat the crypt king which got us the Namara +2 for Sarisah herself. We also freed Tirdir from his grave. We still have to look for the people who did it

After this we went to the Government District to free Viconia, have a chat with Jan and pay the "Administrative Fee" for our magic license.

When traveling we were attacked twice. Once by Suna Seni and one by a group who poisoned Renfeld. We agreed to take him with us.

More to come.....

Shilo: Second and final update.

Everything went more or less as expected, sadly enough. The final quest of Trademeet is easily finished before Shilo heads back to Amn. There, we get blitzed by 3 party-member quests activating within 10 seconds of each other. Cernd, Jaheira, and Aerie's sort-of quest all activated at the gates. I complete Cernd's with no problem and make my way to the Harper's hold without him.

Ow. The battle here was a mess. I thought I could take an easy advantage with their spell casters being sapped by Insect Plague. I was wrong, evidently. Jaheira, Minsc, and Yoshimo end up falling, but not before taking out all but 3 of them. Aerie and Shilo beat a hasty retreat through the door, where we ended up buffing with a second Haste and numerous other goodies before heading back in. II on Shilo, and he sniped the rest of them down. Used 3600 gold to rez everybody. I'm fairly sure I missed a dialogue with Jaheira here, since she herself was dead as the last of the Harpers were killed.

Picked Cernd back up (this guy is a terrible, terrible father. Who leaves their child to be raised by druids?…) and started the Haer'Dalis line of quests. Tarnor the Hatchetman fell surprisingly easily - in my past playthroughs, the guy had been the cause of many, many reloads. But Insect Plague + Fire Elemental + random Holy Smites from Aerie proved enough AoE damage to fell half of them before they could do anything, and the other half was easy mop-up.

Haer'Dalis was rescued and replaced Minsc - he really, really gets on my nerves, and I had heard stories about how the Blade could be used as a tank with Defensive Spin. And then, of course, Planar Prison. Here my low health rolls finally killed Shilo, as a single Magic Missile volley was enough to put into PW:Stun range, and I couldn't react as the spell caster nuked the rest of my health with… Some green projectile that I can't recall seeing before. Back to the Sword Coast, I guess.

Sorry to hear about the death of Shilo. good luck on your next run.

I found the Blade quite powerfull later on in the game. In the beginning I struggled with him but later on he became powerfull.

@Epsil0
The planar prison has given me a fair share of problems as well. I've found that investing in magic resistance potions is well worth it for weaker party members when entering such a zone. I know Roger the Fence in the temple district sewers sells some and there may be other vendors stocking them as well.

@Epsil0: Sorry to hear the end of your run. Several responses to your comments:
1) That green blob was probably finger of death - save or be killed. Obviously you want your party members to be targeted by this and not the main character.
2) Jaheira doesn't talk after killing the Harpers. She does however, talk after Revianne ambushes the part and accuses you of killing Harpers. That would normally be the next event.
