Joniren, the brave blade. Update No.3
Joniren managed to facilitate the revolt in the leadership of Copper Coronet and got acces to Bernard's good stuff. Bought Azuredge and Stonefire. Returned Renfeld to Harpers (I used the tactic mentioned in the previous post to deal with the encounter).

Joniren bravely robbed the 1st level of Watcher's Keep. He did it with his fellow Warrior Skeleton and azuredge. I didn't open any containers until the level was cleared. Then I rested and opened everything in the jelly form. I believe I dodged one insta kill trap. I left the altar nd the statues in peace (my testing character got meat minced by them). No significant loot to be mentioned except golem manual. I don't intend to use the crimson dart (got tuigan bow for 3 apr, I think I'm going to use the fire arrows to deal with the trolls).

I accused Rejiek of being a murder and supported my stand with some funny smelling berries and oddly looking leather. I busted the red man and his goons. Got the valhala horn (I once again used jelly to open the containers).

Joniren is now level 14 and his looking forward to saving the trade in the town of Trademeet. He also would like to pay a visit to Umar Hills.

Do anyone of you experience the infuriating Efreeti AI? He literally does what he wants despite my commands. He can repeatedly disobey my orders and do his own thing, but sometimes he listenes (I think it has something to do with when during the round I give him a command). I have party AI turned off btw. I there some mod or patch which make him do only what I tell him to?

Katanas are good in SoA because of Celestial Fury. Once you're past that, it becomes a lot less effective. ToB Katanas are fairly meh for hitting things. Axe Of The Unyielding +5 is...preposterously good, however. Also don't sweat the scimitar proficiency; Go get Belm and then swap to the Scarlet Ninja-To once you have UAI and can actually wield it.

Axe proficiency helped a lot during clearing the graveyard - I used mainly Azuredge. I won't be getting Celestial Fury anytime soon, so I'd be better off with axes. My scimitar proficiency came from BG1 where I stole Drizzt's scimitars and I will be getting Belm for sure! Thanks for a piece of advice.

Carthusian XII faces Firkraag.

Quivering Palm fails. Staying fractionally too long sees Dragon Fear hit, and the monk runs off in a flap (Dragonslayer was in a weapon slot ready but I was too greedy trying for more QP hits). Firky had also triggered Remove Magic (lands) and Lower Fire Resistance (Magic Resistance). Carthusian is out of range of a Wing Buffet but a huge fire breath lands and is beaten by <Spell Ineffective> which could be Magic Resistance I guess, while Hold Person and Greater Malison bounce off Magic Resistance.

Carthusian recovers his composure and decides to counter the dragon stoneskin with RoAC Improved Invisibility and Ilbratha Mirror Images. A second fireball is ineffective and Carthusian hefts the Dragon Slayer sword into two GWW's to smash through the stoneskins and deliver a come-uppance, Firky managing a solitary hit through the mirrors in return.
Image IPB

(lucky to get away with that mistake, he's normally incredibly unforgiving but Carthusian spent half his panic on the staircase)

Inti - elf wild mage (update 4)

At Trademeet Kitthix webbed Taquee to make sure he couldn't run away.  Before that Inti had left a couple of skeleton warriors inside the genies' tent to deal with the other 2.

At the Druid Grove some summons waited outside the Troll Mound to jump on pursuers.  That tactic allowed Inti to complete everything up to the spore colonies without resting.  When refreshed he produced some more summons for them and Dalok and then watched Cernd strut his stuff against Faldorn.  He left the rakshasas for now.  After accepting his rewards Inti bought the Cloak of Displacement / BoIB and a few scrolls.  Then cleared the tomb and got final revenge on Rejiek Hidesman.  Restoring Raissa's skin provided just enough XP for level 16; Inti found a ADHW spell a while ago, so drank some intelligence potions and learned that.  On returning to Athkatla I realised that had been a mistake as there were various other useful 7th and 8th level spells around - still, there's no shortage of intelligence potions and Inti used some more there (spell sequencer can now replace it's minor cousin for the purpose of setting up chaos shields).  He still had enough funds left to pay Gaelan Bayle.

Improved invisibility didn't prevent Lassal from trying to dominate Inti, but his spell save of -6 was far too good to give the attempt any chance of success.  The Guild contact lost out to a skeleton warrior and Inti moved on to vampire HQ.  Animated dead did the bulk of the work there - Tanova fighting off one skeleton warrior, but not a second.  Not long afterwards it was Bodhi's turn to face a hopeless fight.  Reporting success to Aran Linvail got Inti to level 17, but he's still got some work to do before going after Imoen.

At Umar Hills Kitthix rather amusingly gave the Killer Mimic a taste of its own medicine.  After using MMM on the stone golem and talking to Madul Inti moved on to the Temple Ruins.  He tried killing Anath then, but was very low on spells and had to retreat and rest before finishing him off.  Summons did most of the work in the Temple, though incendiary clouds were helpful on the groups with liches - killing the second one.  Putting together the Symbol of Amaunator got Inti to level 18 and the ability to summon a planetar. That was immediately put to use against Thaxy.  His PfMW allowed him to survive and kill the first one, along with other summons, but a second planetar was too much for the dragon.  After resting a planetar (cast at speed 0 with robe and amulet on) one-shotted the Shade Lord before he could get his buffs up.  After reporting in to the Mayor, I expected Fael to summon some friends to help him.  He didn't bother doing that though so the trap on him was largely wasted.

The next area for the chop was Windspear Hills.  As usual, after killing the bandits, Inti returned to Athkatla to pick up the acorns.  Inside the ruins Chieftain Digdag was the only one of the greeting committee to survive an incendiary cloud and Inti moved forward swiftly. He reached level 19 with an incendiary cloud against some vampires.  I did have a bit of a shock when fighting some golems despite being almost out of spells and discovering the hard way that Inti did not have stoneskin active - if the adamantite golem had got a critical it could have killed him.  Three skeleton warriors helped kill the genies, but all died in the process, meaning Inti produced a simulacrum for the first time to get past the guardian.  Samia met an incendiary cloud - no-one emerging for the planetar to deal with.

A skeleton warrior was left waiting for Conster and then a full complement of summons were produced for Firkraag.  He buffeted away the 3 skeleton warriors and the fire elemental in front of him, but didn't notice the planetar creeping up behind him to cut his head off (level 20).

Carthusian XII pushes on, aware that Inti is probably running at 60 (frames/second).

Alhoon and his illithid uprising are swiftly brought to order, Carthusian using a potion of invulnerability to bop them around the head. Mekrath pays the price for dealing in slaves and the Planar Prison is only able to contain Carthusian for about 5 minutes. This leaves the Planar Sphere, Watchers Keep and ToB (unless I've forgotten any reasonable sized task).

Indeed, although I'd rather face her in that situation than Abazigal :)

The Planar Sphere doesn't take long at all, about 15 minutes. Watchers Keep is tempting but I think I'll leave that until ToB so I can pocket plane rest in the random maze level. Time to track Bodhi down.

& 10 minutes or so later Carthusian has killed her, no protection from evil and not drained - not sure if the vampires can hit him as they didn't get much of a chance.

& 26 minutes to get to Suldanessellar, kill the dragon, tempt the avatar of Rillifane out and barter with Reirra. Tree of Life next...

Update
Irenicus scowls. "You!"

"That's right" the unbuffed Carthusian replies, pointing the Sword of Balduran at the heart of his foe. Irenicus casts time stop and launches a wilty wail of clouds from which the only merciful escape is to be mazed. "Goodbye Carthusian" he chuckles "my magic is unparalleled and my preparation almost complete".

As the fog clears an unharmed Carthusian steps forward and hits an illusionary Irenicus with the Sword of Balduran. "Try your best. Then try harder. Your cones of cold and Melf acid arrows don't scare me."

Irenicus redoubles his efforts as Carthusian waits patiently. Spell after spell fail to land on the monk but Irenicus carries on as his images, protections and fire shields peter out. He knows that his unlimited Magic Missiles are a last reserve that no enemy to date has required so doesn't bother re-buffing.

With both fireshields out Carthusian punches Irenicus then swirls the Sword of Balduran to deflect another spell. Two more punches and Irenicus crumples to the ground. To the Hells with you.

@Gate70: Remember at some level monks get immunity to +1 weapons, so that's probably why the vamps couldn't hurt you.

A Quick Note on the MLP:FiM Mod:

I had declared the MLP:FiM mod "awesome" before having actually tried it. Having now installed it and loaded a game, I feel the need to amend that statement.

I still love the idea, and the art is excellent. There is a problem though: everypony is over-powered. Consider Applejack, the L1 cavalier with 24 hit points, 14 proficiency points, and a stat roll of 98.
Image IPB

Some of the ponies were built more modestly, like Fluttershy for example:
Image IPB

But on balance the party is pretty clearly unsuitable for my purposes. As is, I could recommend the mod to a MLP fan who is a casual BG player, primarily interested in the RP experience and desirous of a power boost. But for others I'd strongly advise toning everypony down with your favorite resource file editor (I'm considering doing just that, although I may end up heading in a different direction).

Best,

A.

Btw. Congrats on dropping Jon-Jon Gate!

Btw II. I just noticed an earlier question about the mechanics of dragon fear. It's a save v spells at -4.

Btw III. In my install vampire weapons are +2 enchanted or higher.

Alesia, this is probably going to come across as insulting and spiteful, but I was horrified to see that a brony has made a mod of my favourite computer game; I would have hoped they'd just stick to bioware's more, uh, modern series like Mass Effect.

Inti - elf wild mage (update 5)

Inti has made significant progress of his own and has just arrived in Brynnlaw.

After his trip to Windspear Hills Inti headed for the Temple sewers to make use of Tazok's key.  First he dealt with Tarnor's gang, using an incendiary cloud with a planetar waiting for those that emerged from it.  That tactic was also used in the first room of the illithid lair, while a first use of ADHW helped out in the final room to support some summons.

Preparing to invade Mekrath's rooms caused a bit of a hiccup as over 40,000 gold disappeared into the ether.  The battles within though were no problem - with Mekrath being overcome in seconds and an incendiary cloud burning up a bunch of yuan-ti (skeleton warriors were used to pin them in it - their high MR makes them good for that purpose).  Inti got to level 21 there - picking up his final saving throw improvement.

I decided not to bother with the Unseeing Eye quest.  However, on the way out of the sewers there was still time for Kitthix to web not only a lesser earth elemental, but a carrion crawler as well.

Following Haer'Dalis, Inti soon found himself in the Planar Prison.  Entering that invisibly allowed him to get out of range of the Bounty Hunter's True Sight and summon some allies in peace.  They finished the initial ambush off in seconds, providing Inti with some new footwear.  The same summons worked round through some thralls and yuan-ti, but got killed in the process.  A replacement planetar killed the Master of Thralls and waited with a hakeashar to see what came out of an incendiary cloud on the Warden.  The answer was nothing, though there were still some yuan-ti left for them to finish off.  Unfortunately the game crashed during the transition back from the prison - so Inti had to go through the whole area again (which he did without any problems).

Inti's penultimate objective before heading for Spellhold was the Planar Sphere.  Defeating various halflings (mainly by planetar) got him to level 22.  A single skeleton warrior was enough for Lavok; a couple more of them were redundant while a planetar killed Tolgerias (guided in by farsight), but helped out a bit in the fire and cold rooms.  After more golems in the engine room (planetar with II and globe of blades proving effective against them) a final planetar for the day made short work of a tanar'ri.  The ride home got Inti to level 23 before he provided Lavok with a final breath of fresh air.

Inti sent the Solamnic Knights home and set his new apprentices to work.  They produced a dagger and a mislead scroll before attempting the wand of power.  Regrettably, for the third time in a row, that killed them without result.  A planetar and a couple of ADHWs then made a mess of Sorsha's ambush.  The intention was to imprison Lord Ketlaar Argrim, but the planetar switched targets to him while Inti was getting into position to use the rune. Teos wasn't pleased, but still told Inti where to find Imoen.

The last task before heading off was the Twisted Rune.  Inti buffed up and, when Shangalar appeared, used a protection from undead scroll.  Improved haste MMM quickly beat him up before Inti cast farsight and produced a planetar.  That allied to an ADHW killed Vaxall immediately and another ADHW killed Layene before she could bring out her pit fiend - allowing Inti to pick up the Staff of the Magi.

Decent progress Grond0. & scary mod Alesia. Scary.

Carthusian XII does a clockwise run of the Hells. Good Good Good Good Evil to become Lawful Evil; Wraith Sarevok had it coming. The Sword of Balduran is bagged for good (100% magic resistance by other means), as is the strength girdle and Kaigen's amulet (now using that of Seldarine).

ToB
Illasera shakes her head, the fool hasn't bothered preparing. She casts mirror image and summons two kobold commando helpers before four solid punches end her aspiring godhood.

Sarevok makes yet another appearance and Carthusian XII grants him some life essence before handing over some trinkets including the ring of Koveras and making him stand in the corner.

Cespenar finds nothing of interest in the bag of holding. Carthusian XII stashes various items into the nearby containers, including components for Crom Faeyr and two parts of the Equalizer sword ; the 3rd part must be stashed in Watchers Keep and is now beyond repair. Later upgrades might involve the short sword of Mask (level drain), Angurvadal (immune to level drain), Spectral Brand (immune to level drain and cold damage) and Hindo's Doom (restoration).

Gavid starts the ball rolling with a Retribution task, culminating in the appearance of Ellisime (rapidly chunked), Duke Eltan (Hardiness, GWW, chunked) and Aran Linvail (hordes of wand summons followed by 3-4 hits and another chunk).

Saradush beckons.

Carthusian XII grabs a Rod of Resurrection (he has 2, not used either) to un-orphan a child. With that good deed done he kicks Kiser into touch and purchases a few items from the newly re-opened spell store before tidying up a few minor loose ends such as re-housing some elves and stopping a few scuffles.

Into the sewers, at a cost of 20gp thanks to the priestess refusing to hand over a key. It is crawling with vampires and Carthusian is drained twice (+2 in my install too then). The priestess deigns to sort that issue out and Carthusian heads into the jail and up to the castle. Gromnir hits hard and fast, so Carthusian uses the float-sting approach to cull the lackeys. Various spells are endured, including a pair of timestops during that time then Carthusian uses Hardiness > Mirror > GWW to scare Gromnir and shows no mercy to kill him.

Melissan fails to turn up so Carthusian resorts to save > close > load and she arrives as if nothing had happened. Carthusian rolls his eyes as she hams up a series of increasingly obvious lies. Yeah, sure Melissan. Whatever.

Gate, I imagine the nerves when your monk got scared. Oh, man.

The MLP mod looks cute but I think is made for RP playthrough rather than no-reload.

Joniren, the brave blade. Update No.4

I visited Trademeet and solved the Djinni problem as well as helped druids restore the balance.

I buffed with Protection from Petrification amongst many other spells before entering the djinni tent and making it a bloody mess. In the druid grove  I used mostly my standard set of buffs - PfE, Mirror Images, Improved nvisibility from RoAC and my own, Haste, spins and DUHM. I did scout ahead invisibled and grabbed the Belm from the tower first. Joniren is now wielding Stonefire and Belm. Spirit Trolls didn't give any headache. Joniren summoned Efreeti when he needed fire damage to finish trolls. I entered the mound and defeated Trolls there with a help of Efreeti and fireballs from wand. Let me tell how you annoying those Spirit Trolls are. They go invisible every round after they attack and I had to click on them every few seconds. First group of druids is weak in SCS and I had no problems fighting them. The second one is a wee tricky if you let them summon Dryads. It gets hectic then with multiple Charms flying your way. I prevented that with double web from seuencer, loyal golem and Tuigan bow with fire arrows (I had a funky spear  just in case). I met an old lady and didn't try to slaughter her (Rakshasas were too tough a nut to crack for Joniren then, he hit them only on crit and couldn't cast Tenser transformation), I bought some potions instead (including one that gives 50% electric resistance). I skipped the spore colony on the bridge and had no problems getting to Cernd. Then I made a mistake of talking to him and letting him challenge Faldorn before  defeating druids in front of the grove entrance. Thus, Dalon and co. disappeared into thin air and I missed on the Flametongue (and burned a few potions thinking I would start a fight leaving the grove). Well, jinkies. On the coming back to Trademeet I ended the tale of Rejiek the murderer and returned the cloak from crypt to High Merchant.
Tired of adventuring for one session Joniren came back to the city, eradicated some vampires (random encounters of two guilds), and rested in the inn near docks. The fights with vampires once you acquire NPP are laughable.

Next on the plate is probably Mae'Vars quest chain, harpers' HQ, slavers, lilarcor.

Carthusian XII is fairly chilled (I've lost enough times to not get too wound up).

Nyalee went for a double dialogue, turning Yaga Shura mortal again and then becoming hostile even before Carthusian visits the Fire Giant temple (talk about bugged).

He decides to visit the temple anyway and clears the exterior in one sitting, the entrance and two rear-most rooms in a second and two centre rooms in a third. A fourth visit sees Berenn and Imix booted out.

On to the siege camp. Fortunately Yaga is indeed vincible (is that a word?)

The four lieutenants are dropped then an overbuff (Hardiness > RoAC II > Ilbratha mirror > GWW) sees Yaga Shura take less than the 10 hits from the GWW. A bit of an anti-climax, monks must be his nemesis, at least one was today.

Reem the solo dwarven level 10 fighter/level 10 cleric update

Reem has successfully solved the Trademeet problems and D'Arnise Keep problems. He had to use flame blade in the Keep until he could forge the FoA - he had a heck of a time finding the hidden door to the FoA forge, but he got it eventually...Glaicas was killed by Slay Living spell, Torgal was tough but Reem pulled through, rest of the keep was uneventful (Yuan-ti mage basically defeated by improve invisibility via RoAC).

As for Trademeet, so as not to get petrified, Reem went after the rakshakshas...lots of heal potions used against them but Reem won once again...Reem used his best potion buffs for the Troll mound area. He used skeletons for the first shadow druid group and silence x2 on the second. Cernd of course took down Faldhorn...

Reem reported to the Mayor of Trademeet of his success, and is considering his next move...

Carthusian XII faces himself in the 2nd Pocket Plane challenge. Hardiness keeps him alive long enough to GWW his alter-ego into dust, but 8 levels have been lost in less than 2 rounds. Semaj is looking to take advantage of this but a quick check confirms magic resistance is still 100% so Angelo then Tamoko are flattened instead. Semaj shrugs off 2 GWW's with his mirror images and stoneskins but once they are defeated so is he.

Sister Garlena restores the missing levels and Carthusian sets about the entrance level of Watchers Keep. That doesn't take long and he elects to descend to the second level; perhaps giving Inti enough time to catch up, and perhaps also a step too far for the monk. Time will tell.

Bummer. Before reading this I was planning to PM you to ask if you could make some pony sprites for me. Now I'm guessing that's not going to happen...

(No worries Polytope. I get it. Or at least I kind of get it. I get not getting MLP. What I don't get is why those who don't get it are irked by those who do. I don't like sardines. They don't make me happy. Should the fact that others like sardines make me unhappy? And should I try to make those who like sardines unhappy? That makes little sense to me.

Whenever I encounter little fandom conflicts like this, I think of one of Kurt Vonnegut's quotes: "We are here on Earth to fart around, and don't let anybody tell you different." Sure. I suppose Kurt could have been wrong about Earth, but it seems pretty clear to me that his quote applies to entertainment culture. We are here to find joy. I'm glad for those who've found it- even if they've found it in a place where I couldn't. Simple.

Now, I understand that humans have a heritable tendancy to establish in-groups and out-groups based on symbolic markers and cultural repertoires. And I recognize that conflicts tend to emerge across affiliative social spaces. But that's something we need to get over- it's baggage from a bygone era. Tolerance is humanity growing up.)

Anyhoo. I've decided to shelve the MLP party simply because it doesn't suit my gaming needs (sigh of relief Polytope and Gate?). I'll likely run my evil assasin, Alo, instead. Good hunting everyone.

Best,

A.

Gate70/Grond0 multiplayer attempt 37 - (5th and final update)
Slough, halfling swashbuckler (Grond0) & Varrel, human paladin (Gate70)

Regrettably this duo's adventures came to an end against one of our (many) nemeses.

The start of the session saw Mae'Var despatched with no problems.  Then they moved on to Windspear Hills.  There had been one nasty moment there when a lightning bolt trap (newly introduced by BG2EE) near the bridge with an air elemental underneath had hit Slough, but the rebound missed and he breathed again.

Samia's work was put to one side while Tazok was beaten down and a few traps left for Conster.  Traps were also laid for Firkraag - they were not expected to kill him due to his fire resistance, but we thought a few more blows might manage the job.  However, the battle was very laggy with Firkraag storing up hits on Varrel so that he died when he had already retreated well away.

That should probably have been the signal for Slough to grab what he could and run, but he took the time to lay some more traps to see what effect they would have.  That resulted in him running for the exit with a rampaging dragon on his heels.  However, he made it through to the safety of the prison block - only to find that Firkraag had teleported ahead of him and was waiting on the other side of the table from where Conster appears.  As he was not expecting trouble, Slough had come too far forward to quickly run back and Firkraag's breath hit him before he could get away again.

Joniren, the brave blade. Update No.5
Joniren exposed Mae'Vars wrongdoings and set to kill him. I prepared myself with 2xWeb sequencer and a couple of Sunfires and the fight was basically over after firing off those two. Nowadays I usually put Improved Haste in the Contingency (set to See Enemy) to save my spell slots. Mae'Var had been chunked easily.

Brave bard decided to complete Harpers' quest. He cleared clean the HQ (I used spear of the unicorn to avoid the charm trap), retrieved the bird. Then I decided I wanted to fight harpers.  Don't know what pushed me into this direction, but I chunked them easily. Unfortunately I had become aware that harpers are treated as citizen so I suffered rep hits and also Jaheira outside the HQ wants my blood now. I just Invisibled and escaped not wanting to aggreviate the whole city. So far only Jaheira is set out to kill me.

Joniren solved the sewers riddle. In the meantime I chose flails as his next weapon proficiency. Then he freed Athkathla from slaver scum.

I steered my deadly blady machine to DeArnise fortress and measured myself against trolls. They weren't even remotely difficult. I grabbed the Flail of Ages and descended into basement. I used Lilarcoc to defend myself against confusions, but it seems like the protection on the sword doesn't work - i still saw the saves vs spells in the log. Luck was with me (I had 0 save spells then, but still) that day and Joniren managed to keep his sanity intact. Preperation for TorGal consisted of: IH, PfMW, II, PfE, Protection from Normal Missiles, Mirror Images (I used Illbratha during the fight), Blur, Stoneskin, Haste potion, Defense potion, and my memory fails me to remember anything else. I lured the TorGal while invisibled and quickly dispatched him undisturbed. The Yuanti mages almost got me, when Joniren got stuck in the enemies' webs, but luckily images, blur and stoneskins kept blade alive, but with only 20hp left. I gulped the invisibility potion and escaped from their sight, healed myself. Thanks to that maneveur I somehow seperated yuanti from trolls. I chunked trolls, waited out mages' defensive spells, summoned golem and overran yuanti. Job done.

Joniren heeded to Temple Ruins next. The fight until Shade Lord was walk in the park with Azuredge, IH and offensive spins. I didn't encounter any liches (as in some of your playthroughs), but did defeat a few of the bone golems. Joniren didn't dare to pick a fight with a dragon and proceded to Shade Lord. There I cautiously used protection from undead scroll and cleared the shadows and lord.

I came back to the city to finish some loose ends. I defeated Mencar Pebblecrusher (2xWeb and 2 sunfires did the job), the party in the temple sewers (again 2xWeb and 2x Sunfire, 2 skull traps took care of the mage and what left was to melee webbed warriors, I buffed heavily before that fight). I opened up the doors in the Unseeing Eye cult and killed Keldorn (never liked the guy).

What was left at that moment was planar sphere, planar prison, windspear hills, beholders lair, Twisted Rune, and the Illithids in the temple sewers. I decided to deal with the Thaxx first. It was quite a challenge, it was my first dragon in SCS and I had no idea what to expect from the fight. Joniren was level 21 at that point. My biggest concern was what to prepare in my spellbook, but in the end it turned out meaningless. I decided to go with two Raise Undead, 2 SI (div and abj), IH in cont, IH in the book, and two PfMW as well as 2 II. I abandoned the thought of dispelling the potential stoneskins and protections hoping that me and the summons woud deal with stoneskins and PrMW i would just wait out.  I put mirror image and blur in the minor sequencer and remembered mostly defensive spells. I gulped potions of defense, power, clarity, one which halves the magic damage, and the one which gives automatic succesful saving throws. With such preperations I delved deep into the Thaxx dungeon.

I summoned two skelles and send them at Thaxx. I thougt that dragon wil unleash his spellbook at them thus: 1) I would be safe from the spells 2) I would have some knowledge of what the dragon is capable of. He started with PfMW and then blinded and suck some levels from my skelles followed by a death spell. I considered it. From level drain I was safe (AoP), but blindness was an issue as I had no means of preventing it. I saw that skelles did make a saving throw against the blindness, so I told myself: ok, my saves are automatically succesful, I can save myself from blindness. Also worth mentioning: Thaxx didn't cast a stoneskin, which would slow me down significantly in terms of damaging his face. Weighing pro and against I decided to start hitting him. Apparently it worked,  lizard was receiving heavy damage (i dualled FoA and Belm). Then he started doing some annoying stuff: he actually blinded me with his breath attack. I did save from something, but if it was blindness I was failing it. Thaxx blinds and then whacks at you. Moreover, while Joniren was blinded, he couldn't attack the dragon (because the model is too big for a blinded character to be able to stand near it and see it). I did burn two PfMW during this fight, cursed myself for remembering II (dragon could see through it, and he was hitting me anyway). Thankfully blindness didn't last long - only 1 round, so I was able to bring FoA home once or twice during this short breaks from the blindness and Thaxx being invisible. I summoned berserker, efreeti and with this joint forces I managed to kill the beast. I gulped around ten extra healing potions during that fight. Reflecting back on it - I would make sure to use True Sight in that fight, since blindness and Thaxx going invis every two rounds was my main concern.
Dragon dead.
Joniren presents his equipment.

Next is probably windspear hills.
Edit: some grammar stuff I caught and stylistic errors in the last paragraph (I used too many "Thaxx" there).

Sorry Alesia, didn't mean it to come across like that. I just watched a couple of minutes of someone on Youtube & it looks like a party of custom characters rather than new/changed content.

Regrettably this duo's adventures came to an end against one of our (many) nemeses.

Condolences. :(

However, he made it through to the safety of the prison block - only to find that Firkraag had teleported ahead of him and was waiting on the other side of the table from where Conster appears.

Do you have a screenshot of this? I'm interested in seeing how the EE team made that work.

No worries Gate: you didn't come across "like that." I took your "scary mod" comment as a light-hearted jest.

Yeah. That's all it is really: portraits, sound files, and a saved game. It's a pity that the characters in the saved game are hacked and overpowered.

Sorry to hear about your run ending, Grond0 and Gate.

Can't wait to see the assassin run, Alesia. I had considered running a stealth based character (was thinking assassin or shadow dancer dualled to something), since they look so fun to play!

@Gate70, Grond0: Sorry to hear that guys.
@Alesia: Just to put in 2 cents, I have no problem with you playing the MLP mod, unnerfed or otherwise, as mods have always been allowed, and they didn't do something crazy like 25 on all stats. Regardless, good luck on your assassin run.

I didn't get a screenshot of Firkraag, but here's the aftermath.
Image IPB

On my screen it looked as though he was jammed in behind the table, but on Gate70's computer he appeared above the table.  For what it's worth my impression was that this was not something that BG2EE intended to happen, but just an instance where transition between areas sought the closest possible allowable position (a problem for Firkraag because his icon is so large).
