Noywad III the solo level 40 dwarven fighter - update 9 - Nylee's Glade and Yaga's Temple

Noywad III had a protection from undead scroll when entering Nylee's Glade, this helped tremendously. IMoD protected from level drains - Noywad III opened with Sunray (from helm of brilliance) - this whittled down the enemies nicely though there were a few survivors. For the powerful ghost (or whatever that creature is with the blue fireshields), Noywad III tried just a few shots of his dwarven throwing hammer, andthat did the job. Noywad used many GWW and his throwing hammer on the other undead nearby, and was quite impressed with the large HP of these undead. He talked to Nylee and headed to Yaga's Temple.

I've only had 3 solo characters make it to Yaga's Temple EVER, no-reload or otherwise, and every time they have a heck of a time here, and this was no exception. My fighter/thief at least had UAI (wands) and stealth, and my fighter/druid has lots of summons, Noywad is tough, but quite frankly the enemies have a lot more offense then Noywad III does. I know there's a maze trap somewhere in here too, but don't know where...

For the enemies outside, Noywad III only attacked from range with his throwing hammer (which does bonus damage to giants), this worked well, but only because there were a few enemies.

For the initial fight at the entrance, Noywad III got his fire resist > 100, and used the Ronarch helm. Noywad III could not burn the enemies fast, as after one GWW he had to run and heal with RoR - due to aura not clear, took quite a bit of running, GWW, healing, and repeat, I was near death, and almost gave up, it was hard for me to do this.

I knew there were two traps up ahead but not what they were - so I equipped my magic resist gear and tried to trip them to not worry about them later (this way it would be OK to pocket plane, rest and resume). However, found out it was a repeating trap! Doh...so Noywad III used all the resources he could to clear this level without resting to keep the magic and fire and haste potions active - by the time he cleared the last of the mobs he had no HLAs or summons, but he did get the job done.

Noywad III had enough - he has a stack of invis potions, let's put them to use and get the hearts without fighting! This almost worked, but apparently the fell cats can see through invisibility - so Noywad III withdrew, killed the cats (Noywad III still had no HLAs available), went invisible once more, and obtained the two hearts - he was relieved to get out of this place.

EDIT: fixed some typos

Noywad III the solo level 40 dwarven fighter - Update 10 - Yaga-Shura.

Just a quick note. Usually, my battles with Yaga-Shura and his minions is epic. This time, it was one of the quickest and simplest battle ever. Before the battle, Noywad III did 3 actions: Storm Giant potion, Hardiness and invis potion. Noywad III searches the camp and whacks Yaga-Shura two times - Yaga run of course. Noywad III then leads the mass of enemies down south toward a bulwark corner and activates his invis via his Gaxx ring - okay the enemies are parked.

Noywad III searches the camp and finds Yaga-Shura - Noywad III gets close, uses ONE GWW of the Foe-Bane +5 and Yaga dies! Guess that strength potion makes a big difference (Noywad III natural strength is 22).

NoywadIIIkillsYaga-Shura_zpsc4d977c4.png

EDIT: Noywad III got past the Oasis - he killed the Captain with the Answer (+4 long sword), went invisible and left the area - he BARELY made it, the enemies didn't attack but they were tracking his position, and nearly pinned him, glad to get out of there.

Multi-player No-Reload

Neequan - gnomish level 9 fighter/level 11 thief, controlled by Corey_Russell

Wesorc - elvish level 12 sorcerer, controlled by Dogdancing

When we last heard of the duo they were clearing the D'Arnise Keep. We had just forged the Flail of Ages, was time to go into the dungeon level. The spirit troll and large trolls were carefully pulled, haste made short work of them. The umber hulks were also carefully pulled, Wesorc casting damage spells and MMM to speed up the kills.

Initially, Neequan tried to rest/plant snares and repeat to try to get 7 snares - but it was taking a while because his skill is only 40%. But it was all for naught as we got abushed by Yuan-tis who triggered all the traps. Fine! Instead we summoned our summons, Wewa doing a few spiders and berserker horn. Neequan managed to pull just Torgal. Wesorc put haste on the party and we defeated Torgal in record time - giving Wesorc level 12. A lot of good spells, but eventually chose invisible stalkers as they last a long time so could be pretty useful. Since we still had a few summons and haste, Neequan quickly charged the remaining two large trolls, with Wesorc and summons assisting soon as they could - success! We reported to Nalia our success and Neequan became Lord of the Keep.

We sold our junk at Watcher's Keep and had about 27,000 gold. Decided to get Belt of Inertial Barrier for Wesorc, Tasheron's Bow for Neequan (he can help with the golem killing now), and ring of air control for Wesorc. Dogdancing was getting tired and crashed her BG at the same time - so Corey_Russell got the Trademeet quest, rested and the duo will brave the druid grove next session.

Noywad III the solo level 40 dwarven fighter - Update 11 - Draconis

Noywad had an epic, epic battle vs. Draconis. He was forced to use a few GWWs to get rid of the mage form of Draconis. Then the plan was for Noywad III to range attack Draconis, with the invisible stalkers forming a kind of shield. Problem was Draconis never made enough of them and could always attack Noywad III. Noywad III had the sense to wear the shadow dragon armor (for the acid resistance) but the green scrolls of acid resistance kept getting dispelled so they weren't very effective. It was a tense battle with mountains of RoR heals. Noywad III lost a few GWWs because Draconis would go invisible during them and Noywad III dying so had to heal in the middle, thus wasting them. It should be noted that Nowyad is NOT immune to +1 weapons, thus even the stalkers were hurting him, though slowly. After what felt like forever, Noywad III got Draconis to badly injured - Noywad III has ONE GWW - he has to make it count! Despite his life falling, Noywad III presses the attack and the GWW (of +4 sling bullets) slays the foul beast!

NoywadIIIdefeatsDraconis_zps3d3fe7cd.png

The stalkers mopped up, then rest in plane and return. I better call it a night, this was a bit too close for comfort...incidentally this strategy is similar my solo fighter/druid to win, though the fighter/druid had to use like 12 reloads....fortunately Noywad III succeded in none.

Sounds like good progress Corey - keep it going.

Grit - elven wild mage (update 9)

Grit has made a start on ToB this morning.  First up was llasera - she lost out to a planetar to open up access to the pocket plane.  Grit's first challenge there was also simple with summons killing everything except a few ogre berserkers at the end which were cleaned up with a skull trap.  That got Grit to level 25 and her last HLA of comet (I had wondered whether her change of alignment in the hell trials would enable her to get a dark planetar as well, but it didn't).

After making an improved cloak of protection Grit moved on to Saradush.  She opened up access to Lazurus' spells there (using up all her money on spells, including spell trigger and chain contingency) before investigating some vampiric activity in the prison.  She left most of those alone as she moved through into the bowels of the palace - some summons opening up the area nicely.

Before continuing, she had a pocket plane rest and took the opportunity to remove the Claw of Kazgoroth.  That can be swapped for a +2 ring of protection to give her a death saving throw of 1, using the Amulet of Seldarine as well, to defend against banshee wails.  Alternatively a ring of free action can protect against a no-save hold surge effect.

Back at the palace she moved up to the first group of enemies - getting quickly out of sight before true sight triggered.  An incendiary cloud then killed everyone.  The same initial tactics were used with Gromnir and the death of the mages got Grit to level 26.  Gromnir was the only one to outlast the cloud; he was made to run by a skull trap sequencer and a few flying daggers finished him off.

A reset sequencer wiped out all the soldiers attacking the merchants before Grit proceeded on to the Temple of Mir.  A chain contingency (2 x ADHW + a cloud) and a few skull traps killed all the initial group of undead except for a vampiric wraith - the golem helped out with that.  Summons and a couple of wiltings saw off the remaining undead before Grit talked to Nyalee.

At the Marching Mountains Grit headed straight for the temple.  A selection of wiltings and skull traps killed the normal giants at the entrance allowing a mordy sword and planetar to be summoned to finish off the 2 elites (level 27).  She proceeded to clear the lower temple in a similar way - going to rest several times in order to refresh triggers etc (level 28).  I've hardly used chaos shield for quite a while, but did use a minor sequencer double shield in order to cast NRD acid arrows at the fire trolls.  Having got this far I will probably use chaos shields more in future in order to maximise Grit's chances.

On the upper level of the temple wiltings supported summons in defeating Berenn.  Grit then found the stone golem page (which I had forgotten about, so was a welcome surprise) and picked up the 2 hearts.  Imix became a final victim in the temple of the planetar's vorpal.

Nyalee's magic resistance allowed her to survive a wilting contingency, but not a follow-up planetar (level 29).

At the Siege Camp Yaga-Shura was made to run by a first use of the Ring of Energy.  When he returned, Grit tried to use invisibility to get him to chase her into a prepared batch of summons, but he was stuck between his lieutenants.  A skull trap sequencer killed all of those, however, and Yaga's death soon followed

Keep a nice progress, Corey!

And congratulations, Grond0, with taking down Jon-boy!

A little bit more news of Impish Face & Co:

- Solved a murders enigma in a Bridge District. Found a Metaspell Amulet as a result.

- Fought Valeria and her goons. Pitre opened with Greater Command which we fortunately saved and he was immediately shut with Chaos and then Insect Plague. Dacandros left us a very confined space to operate with double Sphere of Chaos (we didn't want to share Cassia's fate here...) but eventually we prevailed. Found Sword of Flame and Ring of Ram

- Eliminated Rakshasa for Boots of Speed and Nalia dealt with Beholder/Gauths via wands in Mustard Jelly form:

th_Baldr072.png th_Baldr073.png th_Baldr074.png

- Set free Haer'Dalis only for him to be enslaved together with other Sigilians by some kind of bounty hunters (didn't entered Planar Prison as of yet). Found nice wands in Mekrath lair. No Yuan-Ti mages this time, only some Umber Hulks led by Elder one:

- Infiltrated the Mae'Var guild. Protected from fire Valygar and Impish Face dealt with Mephits in Rayic's house though Impish Face spent most time being stunned by Steam Mephits. He redeemed himself dealing with Stone Golems and then Nalia went up to talk with Rayic. She said something about wrong door then immediately hit with Death Cloud and polymorphed into Mustard Jelly filling the room with Cloudkills via wand. Rayic found a safe spot and gated in a Gelugon so we fled downstairs to wait him out:

th_Baldr083.png th_Baldr084.png th_Baldr085.png

Rayic then spent some time dancing with Nalia being invisible and under SI:D but eventually was hit by double Secret Word for his Spell Shield and Spell Turning followed by Breach while Jaheira purged his invisibility. He hit Mazzy with Power Word: Blind and in his dying agony killed her with Flame Arrow Sequencer.

th_Baldr086.png th_Baldr087.png th_Baldr088.png

In Mae'Var strongbox we found some documents alone with Ring of Spell Turning and Crossbow of Accuracy. The thieves were of little threat and provided us with solid amount of invisibility and speed potions. For Mae'Var  we called for Fire Elemental and Aerial Servant to deal with his cronies while we could concentrate our efforts on himself.

Another notable randomised loot for this session:

- Spear +1, Halcyon in Prebek house

- The Sleeper +2 flail from Mae'Var

- Cloak of the Stars, Heavy Crossbow of Searing +1 and Mauler's Arm +2 from Mencar's gang

- Ring of Earth Control for the fake illithium

Grit - elven wild mage (update 10)

On arrival at the Oasis Grit's skull trap sequencer killed Jamis before her contingency could trigger.  She grabbed his equipment and left invisibly.

Apart from a couple of encounters with rogue mercenaries the only other thing she did in Amkethran was get access to the smugglers' shop - Carras properly talking to her this time after a wilting contingency helped clear the monks.

On to confront Draconis.  A chain contingency was used to cast triple improved chaos shield on sight of him and summons soon disposed of his human form before evaporating in the dragon death field.   A new mordy sword helped occupy Draconis briefly while Grit used a triple lower resistance trigger on him.  She then used improved alacrity for the first time and started to fill Draconis full of acid arrows (only to remember belatedly that the dragon would be immune to those!).  A mixture of chain lightning and dragons breath did some damage before she tried a chain contingency of wiltings - only for it to somehow miss Draconis and he took the opportunity to heal.

At that point I realised I was late for work and distracted Draconis with a mordy sword while Grit fled to the pocket plane.

Coming back tonight she used another lower resistance trigger and then produced a planetar to discover Draconis when he went invisible.  That allowed her to use PW: blind on him.  She then produced a simmy to provide a bit of additional help while she started spamming attacks under improved alacrity.  With Draconis already suffering badly she went for the knockout with a chain contingency triple wilting - and this time he was unable to avoid it (level 30).

It didn't take long for Grit to clear the tunnels - getting a further golem upgrade in the process.  Then on to Abazigal.  She got her final level while clearing the frost salamanders.  A planetar and mordy sword then eventually got Abazigal to reveal his inner dragon.  A trigger lower resistance softened Abazigal up for a PW: blind, although it took 2 attempts to cast that.  Then improved alacrity allowed Grit to unload his spell book.  Spell turning prevented direct damage spells from taking effect, but a succession of skull traps and sunfires quickly put the dragon to badly wounded - and disrupted one attempt to heal himself in the process.  With him already at near death I was pretty sure this skull trap sequencer (again disrupting a spell) would finish him off and indeed a split-second later the dragon spoke his last.

Nice work there Grond0! It's interesting how closely Grit's an Noywad III's runs parrallel each other. Grit has a heck of a lot of more offensive power than Noywad III -- good thing Noywad III isn't required to kill Grit to get his Bhaal Essence.

Actually, if only Noywad III or Grit can succeed, then I will it to Grit. Grond0's created so many Bhaalpawn wild mages over the years who have encountered so many deaths (think most popular way was petrification) - at least they can rest in peace knowing at least one of their Brethren succeeded. After all, if Grit was named like Noywad he would be something like Grit XXXIII or something. Noywad is only on his III try he can try again later if he doesn't make it.

Noywad III the Solo level 40 Dwarven Fighter - Update 12 - Abazigal's Lair

Some GWWs took out the defenders on the ground floor. Noywad IIi then had to battle some Kua-Toas to get some rope - the image was rather amusing, so thought I'd share it, they all got a line to get killed like we were in some super-market...

NoywadIIIbeatingupKua-Toas_zpsf40b0809.p

Also while here, I got the bronze pantalettes. Also for the first time EVER in my runs, I forged the Big Metal Unit. I decided against using it for Abazigal - I haven't a clue what the heck I am doing, also being large will inhibit maneuverability, so used normal weapons/armor for Abazigal.

While I did have some protection from lightning, I think the more important part of Noywad III's buffs is 125% to cold damage - this meant he can pretty much ignore the frost salamanders and concentrate on Abazigal. They did provide navigation problems, though, so Nowyad III rounded them, went invisible and then only Abazigal chased down Noywad III. At first I thought this was good, but then some GWWs forced Abazigal to change form (interestingly enough, the human form was chunked) - Noywad III got wing buffeted to the entrance and now couldn't move! He was going to have the weather the full brunt off Abazigal's melee. I forgot to mention, I knew that the vanilla Abazigal has imprison in his script - so I put up 100% magic resistance using gear and a potion, this resisted a lot of stuff. Much of the battle went like this - hardiness, RoR heal, GWW, RoR heal, GWW, potion, etc. Was nice Abazigal did an area effect which hurt his salamanders and they were attacking their master! Very helpful indeed...By the way, one nice thing about being pinned was the salamanders couldn't reach Noywad III, so it was just a one-on-one battle with Abazigal.

Regardless, a GWW finally did the job and Abazigal was slain - his salamanders lost interest in hurting Noywad III once Abazigal was down.

Noywad III the Solo Level 40 Dwarven Fighter - Update 13 - Sendai's Lair, Re: Miraculous survival

Someone higher up must be watching over Noywad, because he evaded possible certain death not once but twice. More on that in a bit.

* Captain guarding entrance to the lair - For most of the battles, Noywad III kept the Reflection Shield on so he could concentrate on the melees and magic users and deal with the ranged attackers later - he even managed to kill a few using only the enemies own weapons. GWW and hardiness were sufficient here.

Note Noywad III would use the many invisibility potions that dropped and would skip ALL enemies that didn't have something he had to have (keys, drow stones etc.)

* Drow party guarding the key - Noywad didn't need to use many GWW here, and he was suprised, the Reflection Shield once again worth its weight in gold.

* Lich guarding Drow Ward - Yaga's hammer fininished it off, without it doing anything particularly dangerous to Noywad III. Noywad III went invisible and again skipped everything that could be skipped.

* Earth Elemental Prince - Ronarch's horn and hardiness and girdle of bluntness and high AC setup - took a lot of GWWs but Noywad III didn't take much damage.

* Diaytha and her cohorts - direct attack. Used Helm of Balduran (not sure if that works against a Hive Mother), equipped Yaga's hammer to not be drained and did GWW until the Hive Mother died. Once she was dead, the rest fell pretty fast. Did have to heal now and then.

* Captain - one GWW was enough to win, plus a hardiness. Had to Pocket Plane to rest and resume

* Mind Flayers - Noywad III went to high AC setup and a few GWWs, pretty easy.

Sendai Battle:

I knew this was going to be an iffy battle - partly with the massive adds, and also I just don't know the caster scripts well here. So though I had to sacrifice some AC, used the flesh armor to give a natural 50% magic resistance - did of course at use potion of defense. Reflection shield on always to negate ranged attacks. I can use a potion to get to 100% if needed. I should have done it as soon as a mage Sendai was active - why? Because Sendai cast Maze! Noywad III had a 50/50 chance of avoiding the maze and Tymora was watching him. I get the message though and equip the magic protection potion.

NoywadIIIgetsluckyagainstSendai-50percen

GWW (Greater Whirlwind) works great on the melee Sendai's, but the adds starting adding up and worse, lots of casters hanging about. So Noywad III goes invisible to try to heal up but a caster does True sight, so Noywad III has to painstakingly deal with the adds and casters, takes quite a while to do this.

It takes ALL of Noywad III's GWWs to burn down the adds and Sendai, but finally battling the real thing - however, despite 100% magic resistance and ridiculously low saves (like -10 or less) Noywad III gets held!!! Is this the end???

NoywadIIIgetsheldbyimplosionbytherealSen

I thought for certain Noywad III was dead - but kept my hand over the space bar, he does have 194 HP (and maybe even more with the Foebane extra HP) - incredibly the hold wears off...with ONE HP left!!!!!

NoywadIIIholdwearsoffwith1hpleft-canhesu

I was paused for a long time - I have 3 options, superior heal potion, invis potion or RoR heal. I talked with Dogdancing and realized that Noywad III's aura is clear - he should do superior healing potion, run around a bit and then RoR heal - this amazingly worked and Noywad III is in the fight again!

Noywad III is out of GWWs so gulps a haste potion and works on the adds, and potions as he goes to heal. Once all the drow, spiders and skeleton warriors are dead, Noywad III switches to dual wield (no more ranged attackers) and gets in Sendai's face - Sendai is defeated!!!

What I learned: Presumably the only defense to implosion is free action and I think Balthazar does this. Will dust of the free action ring for that fight - I think implosion does crushing damage too, so will use Ronarch's horn as well. I still can't believe Noywad III lived....

Good to see Noywad III cheating the fates Corey .  Meanwhile, Grit has been paralleling his progress this morning...

Grit - elven wild mage (update 11)

The second pocket plane challenge started less successfully than I hoped when the planetar which had been intended to stay on the sidelines wandered into its own fire storm (turning it hostile despite being immune to the damage).  Dodging that meant that Grit only got his clone to near death before it healed and she then had to run round for a while until the planetar unsummoned.  A mordy sword then occupied the remaining enemies before another planetar, mixed in with some wiltings, to finish them off.

Grit went straight on to the third pocket plane challenge.  For a change no offensive spells were used there, but she just ran the Slayer round while planetars and mordy swords helped wear it down.

Next was Sendai's enclave.  I ran into a problem early on there after attacking the woodcutter with a project image running.  The idea had been for it to dispel itself, but it's attempt to do that surged and an attempt by the planetar failed to shift it - that meant some of the drow had the opportunity to attack Grit while she was helpless.  The image solved that by casting improved invisibility on her and then dealt with most of the attackers with a series of sunfires under improved alacrity before finally disappearing as a result of true sight by the drow wizard.  Grit then moved out of harm's way while the planetar worked through the wizard's defences.

In the enclave proper Grit moved invisibly past the early enemies to the drow guards - they only have normal weapons so a planetar quickly slaughtered them. Invisible again, Grit bypassed some slaves and moved on to Odamaron - he lasted only a few seconds (just until a triple wilting contingency triggered).  After a pocket plane rest she returned to the enclave.  A project image produced summons for Ogremoch - his damage failing to hurt a mordy sword.  Summons had a go at Diaytha and his companions, but were dying quickly, so Grit evened the odds by chucking a couple of incendiary clouds on top of a planetar.  Once that had finished and the (now hostile) planetar had disappeared Grit sent in a replacement planetar to finish off the Hive Mother and Diaytha.  A first outing for the juggernaut golem then quickly smacked down Capt Eigissag.

A planetar took down some illithid, but I misremembered where they were and thought there was another room with Mithykyl.  Instead Grit arrived in the arena with Sendai's statues not really ready for combat - she was tired and pretty low on spells.  She was invisible, however, so just got out of sight of the active statue and went for a pocket plane rest.  After resetting her chain contingency to triple chaos shield she returned.
- project image summons killed the first statue and the spawning drow.
- the second statue was PW: blinded by the image, then had buffs dispelled allowing the summons to quickly kill it.
- the spawning drow killed most of the summons, but a new image refreshed those while the planetar killed the third statue and started on the drow.  The image committed suicide by dispel magic, but did make the planetar's job much easier by also dispelling the statue's buffs.
- another project image (by NRD) appeared and immediately produced another planetar to finish off the last of the drow.  It then went to intercept more of them while the other summons completed the job on the fourth statue.
- a dispel magic got rid of the buffs on the fifth statue, but failed to make it visible.  However, the planetar's true sight did that and the statue didn't last long against the gathered summons.
- the golem proved devastating against the latest drow, while the planetar made short work of the sixth statue.  A few seconds later and the seventh statue and drow had gone the same way.
- the real Sendai appeared and buffed just as the image disappeared.  That combat took a long time, with Grit essentially just staying out of trouble while a series of summons hunted down the teleporting Sendai.  She was on her third planetar and had used quite a few mordy swords and skeleton warriors as well as casting half a dozen breaches.  I was starting to think about possible alternative tactics when finally Sendai stayed a bit too long in one place and was cut down.

After preparing in the pocket plane Grit went to Amkethran to take on Balthazar.  She used invisibility to get past the guards outside and enter the throne room.  After my experience with Balthazar last time I'd made sure to bring along some lower resistance ability and that soon left him blinded - that spell actually surged, but the chaos shield contingency triggered by sight of the guards outside allowed it to cast normally anyway.  Even blinded, Balthazar wasn't that easy to kill - he survived at near death a triple wilting contingency immediately followed by a triple skull trap sequencer.  He responded by desperately trying to heal using potion and lay on hands, but 4 NRD skull traps in quick succession (NRD bypasses the standard 1 spell per round limit) proved too much for him.

@Corey: Glad of Noywad's narrow escape there! Don't tempt the Fate that way anymore.

@Serg: You have to believe me - I wasn't trying to tempt the Fates - things just kind of happened.

@Grond0 - nice work by Grit.

Noywad III the Solo Dwarven Fighter - Update 14 - Balthazar and pocket plane challenges

Noywad III had to battle a large amount of monks to find a key to get into Balthazar's Fortress - took quite a few HLAs, but the Reflection Shield once again was invaluable. Here's a screenie of the action:

NoywadIIIbattlesmonksinAmkethran_zps384d

With all these GWW of the Foebane +5, he got some nice temp hitpoints (363)

Unlike Sendai, Noywad III did excellent planning for Balthazar - Noywad IIII got 100% fire resistance to blunt the fire attacks, massive blunt resistance, free action to negate holds, greenstone amulet to negate stuns - Noywad III actually took only minor damage as you can see in this screenie:

NoywadIIIbeatingupBalthazar_zpsf68e8146.

Balthazar did a nice move to throw his own monks away from the action, then a few more GWW and  he was finished.

Pocket Plane challenge #2 was funny - Kithix managed to web Noywad III's counter-part - this meant the counterpart fell quick. Once the Noywad III clone falls, the rest don't last much longer.

Pocket Plane #3: Noywad III got to VERY high AC (-16) and improved invisibility to boot - The Slayer could only get a hit on a critical and thus had zero chance.

Pocket Plane #4: Noywad III did similar to #3 (get real high AC plus use II), but also a few summon distractions and mirror image, and Noywad III was never in danger - he had an effective -19 AC vs. piercing, so again only criticals can get through.

Pocket Plane #5 (Ravager): Reflection Shield, +4 bullets, running around and staying out of melee range made this a very clean victory.

Only Melissan is left...guess one way or another, Noywad III's run ends tonight.

Best wishes for Mel, Corey - my fingers are crossed for Noywad III

Thanks! You've taken a couple of fighters soloed vs. Melissan - do you have any suggestions? Were the battle between Noywad III and Melissan alone, I am pretty sure Noywad III can win on those terms. What I am not certain if he can do it with powerful summons attacking him at the same time. For example, he could do a GWW only for the summons to surround him and blocking his escape routes while he stays put and that would be bad, needless to say. I have lots of invis potions, I was thinking of leading them somewhere and "parking" them (e.g. going invisible) then attack Melissan from a different vector. This of course will only work if they don't see thru invisibility. The only good summon I have is Ras, but can only use once, and quite short too...

I've used invisibility in the past and found it not helpful.  I've also tried a long drawn-out approach of running and shooting, but that's didn't seem to be promising because Mel heals herself.

I think the most likely way to succeed as a fighter is to take an aggressive approach and try and kill her as quickly as possible.  The FoA is helpful for the slow effect - I think that makes it harder for her to heal herself while under further attack.  If you've found any arrows of dispelling they could be helpful in dealing with stoneskins.  I presume you also have Vhailor's Helm - that should make one of the battles pretty much a foregone conclusion.  You probably don't need to use any HLAs on the enemies in the intervals between Mel, although I seem to remember using one on a Marilith last time due to the difficulty of finishing one of them off with normal attacks while both of them were attacking.
