Russell VII the level 32 Solo Undead Hunter (168 HP) - Update 11
I have good news to report. Irenicus has been defeated..onto the details...
The Tree of Life fight was almost a disaster - I summoned a deva (not being sure I can do that with Pro magic scroll active) and clicked the pro magic scroll, but before it activated Irenicus did a time stop - and cast maze!!! Luckily my action for the scroll activated a split second before the maze hit...close one there...once protected by magic it was only matter of time...LOTS of time, but eventually Russell VII got it done.
Next were the hell trials - the scroll was still active, so Russell VII immediately got to work and cleared out the beholders. He had to do it the good way, which he did for all except the 1st tear. In my install I do NOT get the bonuses if pro magic scroll is active when using tears, so I had to rest to use the 4 tears I had at that point. Incidentally, magic resist is 80 after this. The last tear of Sarevok was easy of course, being immune to his weapon.
Time for the real deal - max buffs of course. Here's the before the fight.
Two GWWs took down the demons really fast. A deva was summoned and scouted ahead, being sure it i seen first. Initially I tried dispelling Irenicus buffs with dispelling arrows then acid arrows - but even with GWWs, the Slayer was only slightly damaged. Fortunately, Irenicus hated the deva - Russell VII switched his equipment around to get 80% magic resist and charged with his Carsomyr - Irenicus ignored Russell VII for the most part and paid the ultimate price.
Ilsaera is extremely easy solo - she gets no help - just equip reflection shield, attack and watch her die.
The 1st challenge was MUCH harder than anticipated. I had a deva and two skeleton warriors helping me. They lasted a while, but then when stronger enemies spawned they got killed. What really gave me a lot of trouble was when Irenicus, Bodhi, and Sarevok spawned. They were killing me!
I was forced to run - RoR heal - run - deva - run - GWW - run RoR - GWW a few times. I even saw a dire charm hit Russell VII (he is not immune) - he saved, but not sure -2 spell saves was automatic or not...Russell VII did eventually prevail.
I'll take this as a warning - I need to take the enemies, very, very seriously. Including doing pocket plane rests a lot, if that's the safest thing to do. Saradush is next. Russell VII is 7.3 million experience - only upgrades/main story line from here on in.

Better luck next time.

@Grond0: Tough break - those beholders have gotten you a lot over the years...truly was there anything that you even needed from the quest? E.g., surely solo you didn't need the experience? I hope you don't say the 5% MR amulet, because you can do that a bit safer by attacking Gaal and the Unseeing Eye directly.

Lilah, neutral evil half-elven mage/thief, update 7
Lilah cleared the Saradush sewers and the prison. She defeated the group guarding Gromnir before going upstairs. With the two opposing mages focused on true sight and other pointless spells thanks to mass invisibility, both were quickly killed, making the rest a piece of cake.
The party left Saradush, fought a part of Yaga Shura's army and travelled to Watcher's Keep. The game crashed while I was clearing level 1, so I had to replay it thanks to a lack of quicksaves. Nothing significant changed gameplay wise, but in my first playthrough, Anomen was affected by a flesh to stone trap (only after all the enemies there were dead, so Lilah could have simply cast stone to flesh - the game crashed when resting at the pocket plane to memorise the spell), and while I tried to replicate this result, he made his save the second time. The only difference is that the Anomen romance is still active now (I think petrification would have stopped it), but since romances don't have any effect on the gameplay at all in ToB (as far as I know), I don't think this is a problem (I actually never wanted to play the Anomen romance to begin with, Lilah always told him that she didn't want to talk now without being rude, but he is pretty relentless - guess there is no nice way to make him stop). If thread consensus is that this does make a difference, I will have Lilah turn him to stone via the spell herself.
Anyway, the party cleared the level again and defeated the first and the second group of statues. Downstairs, the elemental labs were explored and the four sceptres obtained: Air, slime, ice and fire. Valygar died in the ice room thanks to my stupidity, but Lilah's newly acquired paladin bracers brought him back. The chromatic demon was killed in his fire form without any problems.
Next time, Lilah will travel to the Forest of Mir and propably Yaga Shura's temple.

@Enuhal - there is no rule that you must replicate result when reloading from a bug/crash. Presumably you didn't create the bug on purpose - just reload and play your game. Intentionally creating a crash so you could reload and try a different result would not be in the spirit of the challenge, but I doubt very much that is the case here.

Yeah, I'm partial to Thieves and would for that reason be most happy completing a no-reload trilogy run with a solo Thief. My few efforts with single-class thieves haven't been very successful though (Chapter 2/3 SoA at best).

For what it's worth, I agree with this. I'd say that anything between your last save and the bug/crash never happened.

I've soloed thieves numerous times - they all die before chapter 5. Because they only get 1 APR (and bad AC), you really need to use hit and run tactics almost the entire time, and that gets tedious for me. Ironically, enemy parties were easier (fireball from the shadows) then trying to hit and run things like gnolls and such.

Russell VII the solo level 34 (level cap) Undead Hunter - Update 12
Russell VII did very little in Saradush. He helped the mage in the city get back his spellbook from Hectan, then got a key from the Temple Priestess. Then chunked a lot of vampires with turn undead who were in the jail. Devas were used in the prisoner section (remembering Yuledan's death here not too long ago),and straight melee on the guys on the stairs.
Oh incidentally, once the scabbard was found, used soon as possible to forge the +5 foebane, the primary weapon when dual-wielding.
The first party was no problem. Max buffs (including potions) against Gromnir and pals, and this worked out great, the AI did the job even.
The mass of Yaga's solidiers were easy, up until I needed to melee fire giants - even with GWW, they still hit too hard, Russell VII was badly wounded and forced to retreat - RoR and return to battle.
Pro undead scroll at Nylee's entrance - turn undead got some more use, for more chunked undead. Russell VII is currently at the entrance to Yaga-Shura's temple - that first fight is so hard for my soloers (Noywad III nearly gave up here it was so hard for Corey_Russell) - will give it a shot though.

Try a swashbuckler - WW makes a real difference. Dual-wielding Kundane and Belm with improved haste is pretty effective against a lot of enemies as well ...

Guess I should have been a bit more specific - I never get past chapter 5 of BG 1. Thus no WW, Kundane or Belm or improved haste.

Corey, not that it makes much of a difference now (and even less so in later encounters with Fire Giants), but in the area where you fought the Giants (North Forest I believe), there's a narrow bridge of stepping stones in the beginning. Fire Giants can't cross. You could take them down with rannged weaponry if you lure them that way, to save yourself a RoR charge.
Re: Thieves, yes I think Swashbuckler would be the easiest to solo. I have a soft spot for them; it was the first character I completed SoA with back in the day. However, I think my next attempt with a Thief will be with a vanilla Bounty Hunter (I've only played a BH once or twice with the trap revisions mod.) I see that Alesia didn't finish the game with one, at least I see no mention of the BH in the Hall of Fame, but she got pretty far with one I think.

Lilah, neutral evil half-elven mage/thief, update 8
At the Forest of Mir, "Gorion" and his undead were instantly killed by three sunrays. After talking to Nyalee, Lilah travelled to the Marching Mountains, fighting Chinchilla&party before entering the temple. For the fire giant ambush, I simply used the amazing damage output of 5 improved hasted warriors (the main reason for my party composition) to quickly kill the giants before they could do any real harm. Celestial Fury's stun ability certainly helped, as did Sarevok's two instant kill abilites (he'a also using the Silver Blade), and Jaheira with ironskins plus protection from fire can tank a couple of fire giants for a fairly long time. Anyway, all of this allowed the party to quickly progress through the temple, taking on the second fire giant group and all of the opponents guarding the wardstones.
In the next level, Berenn was quickly focused down, and Imix died to one hit of Minsc's Wave halberd. With both of the hearts in her bag, Lilah returned to Nyalee, laying some traps and killing the remaining shambling mounds. At the siege camp, the party quickly returned to the pocket plane to buff, attacked Yaga Shura and killed some soldiers until he returned. The first one to fall was his cleric (while Lilah was detecting illusions, allowing the others to kill the mage), soon the remaining officer and finally, Yaga Shura hmself followed.
Lilah also completed the second pocket plane challenge, first killing Semaj thanks to mass invisibility, and a few seconds later all of the other enemies.
Next time, I will travel to Amkethran.

Bg2 run update 2S1.5,
Chasing our tails; by Sarah,

We kicked Mazzy just long enough to escort / park Valygar at the spear then returned to trademeet and asked Yoshimo to help us do a task for Jan. when that was done Jaheira got a curse dealt with and Mazzy decided to do a spot of pit fighting before returning again to trademeet because her sister got poisoned by a love potion… this brings us to the decision making point;
The shadow thieves or go with the vamps… I’m naturally inclined towards backing the vamps but something tells me Mazzy and Sarah would both jack up if I try to go that way.

Quad multiplayer attempt 1 - (update 11)
Grond0, Dogdancing, corey_russell, Gate70
A few more deaths were racked up today, but that was a fair swap for the significant progress through ToB made by the Quad.
The action started at the Siege Camp where a number of summons helped distract attacking enemies while the team concentrated on Yaga-Shura - he didn't last long. Back at the pocket plane the second challenge was now available and various buffs / summons were used ahead of that contest. With everyone concentrating on Ratic's clone he didn't last long enough to buff and the rest were then simple.
After resting Iskvael made everyone turn invisible for the trip to the Oasis. Enemies there have a follow-me script for the PC so Ratic drew them away with the intention of allowing Anomen to produce some summons. Unfortunately his AI was still switched on and he moved in to the attack. With the large numbers of enemies around Wewa was soon cut down and Anomen didn't last much longer, while even Iskvael was badly injured despite his stoneskins and mirrors. Meanwhile, Ratic was still running to avoid getting trapped and hacking down the odd enemy every now and then. He created a bit of space to use the rod of resurrection and let Anomen bring some summons out and that helped turn the tide. He did later use the rod again on Wewa, but she was unable to get her gear back before collapsing again.
After looting the bodies Amkethran was the next stop. Apart from the odd argument with mercenaries the only encounters there were opening access to the bandit shop by killing some monks and teaching a lich not to meddle with souls.
A sterner test waited at Sendai's enclave. After upgrading the Runehammer the team cleared the initial drow and their friends. The only concern there was when Anomen and Iskvael were both paralysed by gauth accompanying the drow at the grave site - but the enemies were cut down before they could capitalise on that. Inside the enclave proper Anomen found that his saving throw of 1 was not good enough against some of the poisonous spiders, but was able to find a potion in his bag to avoid the problem becoming terminal. Anomen was keen to get more XP so the slavers were allowed to generate quite a few allies before the slavemaster was eventually cut down. That proved a costly decision for Iskvael who didn't have time to react after a number of arrows tore down his stoneskins and shredded him.
Moving on through various spiders, umber hulks and drow offered no real threat on the way to Ogremoch. Some summons and a nice ADHW from Iskvael quickly put a stop to him and Iskvael set a number of traps to cut down a number of the challengers next door leaving the hive mother facing insuperable odds. Captain Egeissag was pinned against a wall by a K'Logorath GWW from Ratic before eventually collapsing and some illithid proved little challenge, although one did manage to level drain Ratic.
After resting the Quad went to tackle Sendai. Most of the statues didn't last long, which actually caused a slight problem at one point when the drow appearing with each statue death stacked up a bit but Anomen brought out a deva to quickly bring them back under control and no one was hurt seriously by the time the real Sendai appeared. She also didn't make too much of an impression with the volume of attacks pouring in on her overwhelming her attempts to heal herself.
At that point Wewa decided that her backpack full of swords had space for one more and led the way to Watcher's Keep. The top floor of that had been looted a long time ago, but the statues were not tackled then. On this visit only the two near the altar were activated by removing the book and they only lasted seconds before collapsing and leaving Foebane behind - that was quickly upgraded in the pocket plane.
The final destination for the session was Abazigal's Lair. The initial assault on Draconis proved tricky when a timestop assault on Wewa looked likely to be fatal, but the warrior made the schoolboy error of only having fists equipped and failed to finish off Wewa's unconscious form. A RoR charge got her back to full health, but she was put down on the floor twice more before Draconis was finally persuaded to change form. Everyone quickly withdrew to the edge of the area where Iskvael had some traps waiting. Those took the dragon to near death, although not until it had done some nasty damage with its breath. Iskvael then threw in a breach while the others attacked with missile weapons to ensure that Draconis would not recover.
Stats (cont. from BG1):
Grond0 - Ratic, barbarian 28, 163 HPs, 1,061 kills
Dogdancing - Wewa, berserker 27, 152 HPs, 641 kills, 10 deaths
corey_russell - Anomen, fighter 7 / cleric 23, 128 HPs, 101 kills, 1 death (Yuledan chunked after 561 kills and 8 deaths)
Gate70 - Iskvael, mage 16 / thief 21, 96 HPs, 230 kills, 6 deaths

Rusell VII the level 34 solo undead hunter - update 13
By some miracle of miracles, Russell VII is still alive. He might have ot change his god to Tymora soon...
Yaga's temple was cleared without too much trouble or near misses. Nylee didn't do much better either. And Yaga himself was simple - GWW of Carsomyr and he had enough.
But Draconis was another matter. It took a while to burn down the mage form, then hardiness and tried to GWW the dragon form - problem though every time would try a GWW, a wing buffet would end up wasting it. And then either the resist fear expired or was dispelled, and Russell VII was running in fear! Is this the end?
But no he gets pinned in, but still alive. But running out of RoR charges to heal...but after keeping trying GWW the foul beast, it does eventually work - close call there.
He then works his way through the lair, without too much trouble. The last part for the BMU was obtained. Geas scroll obtained and used...buffed for ligntning/cold, but wait - Russell VII forgot to charge his RoR! Oops...gotta press on.
Russell VII tries to GWW the human form of Abazigal quick, but it was tough. Eventually gets done...
But wait, Russell forgot to use a haste potion (using boots of grounding)! He does so and resist fear and tries to find a cubby hole which he has heard of somewhere...he doesn't find it. But he finds a spot Abazigal can't melee! Russell VII then uses GWW sling of seeking on Abazigal - LAST GWW finishes the foul beast!!
Last action of the session was to forge the
]Big Metal Unit[/url] - only the 2nd time ever I have forged it.

Russell VII the solo level 32 Undead Hunter - Final Update!
So Rusell ViI worked on the Sendai Enclave. It mostly went smooth, even the Sendai clones. Had a bit of a scare when fighting the drow outside her compound - Russell VII got stunned! Fortunately it was a short stun and he was OK.
Russell used foebane +5/shield for melee and Carsomyr when battling Sendai and her drow - this worked well. Her skeletal warriors were easy to chunk with turn undead...Sendai defeated.
Incidentally didn't fight at all at Oasis just ran all the way through.
However, Russell VII had some trouble outside the Monastery - mountains of monks were attacking him, felt like 30 of them.
The battle lasted for a long time, but the damage kept piling up - I was a bit slow to pause (and do RoR heal) and Russell ViI died.

Noooo, I'm so sorry Corey! This really surprised me, after Russell's memorable victories against Draconis and Abazigal (and to a lesser exent Sendai). Sometimes the 'lesser fights' are harder to concentrate on.
Either way I congratulate you with a very good effort.
