Yikes! Well Grond0, you managed to do the same thing Gate70 did (Gate70 did call shot on his archer in the Underdark, and his 3 arrows came right back at him and killed him - Elnar I think the character was called). Guess you can melee the duke next time, perhaps ranged attacks isn't always best...

Indeed. Melee would no doubt be the way to go, if I remember of course! Although many enemies had fallen to his hammer, Thrain's standard attack was melee and that was accounting for around 80-90% of victims. The hammer was partly used in that encounter due to me trying to have a bit of fun by dodging the insect plague while the remaining enemies were finished off, rather than just killing them as quickly as possible.

@Grond0: Quite an exotic way for samurai to perform seppuku - not by the sword, but by the hammer...
I think, this is because of him lost his true way to be one with his sword and thus bite the consequences ... Sad news indeed...

Daranth, 9th BG2 update
Well, we finished the Ilithid lair with no difficulties.
There was one instance when a number of them started Dimension dooring around, but we survived easilly.
Master Brain was a joke. He mazed my archer once, and died soon after.
Next, Demon knights. Some ugly level drain happened a few times - Daranth got reduced to level 9 in this battle. That's all Demon Knights had, and were vanquished. No loot here for paladins however.
The battle with the Drow guarding the exit is ugly. I lost sorceress and cleric here (they tend to die often
)
But after must powerful spells were spent, drow were rather easy pray.
We parlor with Elves, and go for Bodhi immidiately. No problem there - I don't have SCS vampires (even so, I don't think it would make much difference at this point). She quickly gave up and was pierced with a stake.
Now, item forging and visit to Temple district - there are beholders waiting to be slain. Daranth soloed the entire area.
The problem were the clerics. Huge damage from Unholy Blights had both the archer and Inquisitor gasping for air.
Still, after that was gone, clerics still lacked a decent puch to finish us off. Nobody died.
Gaal wears this - IR version of Girdle of Fortitude - Dalanth gets it, for the rest of the game.
It's a very nice belt.
Now, Holy Avenger (sword is quite a bit nerfed with IR, but it's the Red Dragon scales I'm really after). Despite huge buff to Firk's HP pool, he doesn't really stand a chance. He did dispel us twice, but paladins are tanky...My archer doesn't really care about his AC anymore - he usually auto-hits everything. He now wields Firetooth, even if he doesn't have GM in crossbows yet; just so my WizardSlayer can have unlimited ammo. This should be fixed soon however, when we find him a decent enough throwing dagger.
Next, Planar prison. I was very reluctant to fight the Warden, he already ended two or three my No-Reloads. Things started of perfectly - by killing the mage before his buffs kicked in.
We work our way around slowly dispatching the oponnents. Warden was kept busy with his slaves, while Yuan-Ti mages approached us. Bad call since my sorceress simply dispelled them all in a single shot - leaving them wide open for target practice.
Now we summon - Golem, Kitthix, and 2x Aerial Servant. I was hoping Warden would use his Time Stop on them, but no. Inquisitor goes in, and Dispel is succesfull!
Few arrows hit, and an Aerial Servant does him. Cool.
Now some Questpack content - finishing Shadow Thieves for mr. Chief Inspector Bregga. This took ages - there's about a hundred of them, including level 14 mages. We were well pressed for our resources - most important, True Seeing, Remove magic, and Haste.
You can see the nubmer of theives' bodies here. And they kept coming!
Aran managed to kill my archer with an ADHW, but once he died, the battle was over. We reported back to Bregga for 37K exp each. Lovely.
Now we should either finish Suldanesselar or kill Chromatic demon.

Daranth, 10th and final BG2 update
We kill Chromatic Demon fairly easilly. Now, to levels below, where demons await us!
Tahazzar won't parlor with LG characters (nor would I parlor with him) and due to a dead magic zone we fight w/o buffs. Result - disaster. In 1st round, soceress is PW:Stunned. Demons, spiders, and undead all gang her and she's killed. Next target was my cleric, who got stuck in between them and couldn't move. 2 down, and not even a scratch on oponnents!
We do manage to kill a few (I focused Succubus 1st, then Glabrezu if Inquisitor managed to get a True Seeing off due to permanent Mirror image they have) - namely, 3 or 4 Glabrezu bit the dust that day. Then Cloak of Fear send Inquisitor running. My Cavalier has Remove Fear memorized, but has no time to use it. Tahazzar is desperately teleporting around to kill my ranged duo.
Garthuk, my Wizard Slayer, gets below PW treshold. Adios, my dear fellow. At least Inquisitor regains her senses.
Seeing how his comrade in ranged combat fare, archer drinks Freedom potion and finally has room to breathe. I wanted to give him Strong arm bow, but I switched his armor for Shadow dragon and now he can't wield it anymore. He's stuck with his crossbow. Paladins are holding strong. We shall not falter! Any attempt at buffing is immidiately countered by Remove magic (apperantly they have limitless amounts. Wtf?)
Things go quickly now. Two hits get Inquisitor below PW treshold and she's toast the next round. 1 remaining Glabrezu is now nearly invurnerable with his images. Crap. Even worse, Tahazzar teleports near my Archer and vorpals him!
Now, it's do or die. Daranth holds firm ground for one round, then sees he cannot move anymore - he's locked in place due to large number of enemies. He drinks a potion of healing - the big ones are on dead people around. He kills a skeleton or two, then gets below 80 HP. PW coming...I should have never taken Ring of Free action off him...
And then it was done.

Upon his return to Athkatla, Nymand did some of the smaller quests/encounters there, such as:
Nymand rested and went on to test himself against Thaxxy. Any hostile action, including the setting of traps, makes Dragons go hostile in my setup, but the bounty hunter nevertheless managed to set all his traps out of the dragon's sight. They severely injured the dragon, but they didn't kill it. Nymand then used different summons to distract his foe while the rogue himself would try and hurt it. His most powerful ally, Kitthix, was unfortunately removed with a Death Spell, but the Efreeti and later Ras especially, with some good immunities, allowed Nymand to shoot arrows (those of Dispelling failed to work), deal some decent Ring of the Ram damage, and get in the occasional melee hit. Haste, a Bhaal-DUHM plus a (Rogue Rebalancing) vial of poison to coat his weapon in, enabled Nymand to finish Thaxxy off in melee.
I was surprised that Nymand didn't get level drained, which was my main fear for this fight, and would have caused me to get Nymand out of the dragon's lair. Maybe SCS changes this, I can't remember, or could it have to do with the fact that Nymand relied heavily on stealth/invisibiliy (and non-detection)? I noticed that Thaxxy saw through Nymand's invisibility, but perhaps it couldn't cast spells at hidden/invisible Nymand? I think the only spells that hit him were Remove Magic, Greater Malison, Slow and a few Chromatic Orbs.

Sorry Aasim, I was hoping our Archer would get you into the Hall of Fame...

That was my original plan, yes. The problem was that in order to survive Irenicus in Hell Timestop+Melee whacking I wanted at least 1 HLA (Hardiness). Without it, it can be rather nasty to survive, especially if some damage is taken before Irenicus finishes casting it. Thinking of it, if my sorceress had level 18 (we all missed 1 level to get HLAs), Chain Contingency ADHW-ADHW-ADHW would do serious damage...
However, there was no more XP to be gained, at least not 250k worth.
The fight against demons there is (imo) the hardest fight of WK, you can't prebuff with spells, Glabrezu are incredibly annoying and hard to kill, + PW:Stun at will means that effectively HP pool is cut in half. Being stunned in this battle is the same as being dead. Ah well. I'll go with a party of 4 next time, and I think I have an idea of how it could work...

Something that is often forgotten, if you have a thief with UAI you can use Mazzy's default short sword, which provides immunity to stun.

Hmm that's a very good tip. Thanks!
I did install the BG2 Fixpack tweak that makes Free Action include stun protection, but the Ring can only be acquired in the Asylum. Besides, if I can raise my reputation to 20, I can get Cromwell to upgrade the sword:
Sword of Arvoreen +5 (requires Sword of Arvoreen +2, Reputation 20 & 15,000 Gold)
- Free Action.
- Target must save vs. wands or be slowed.
- Grants +1 STR, +75 exceptional STR.
Guess Nymand will return to the Temple Ruins to release Mazzy ![]()

Right. In vanilla Free Action doesn't cover Stun, so it's even worse than in my game!
With Spell Revisions, Free Action does grant this immunity. But no prebuff is very annoying to handle. I should have used potion buffs. I'm kind of reluctant to use them and always save them "for later".
The problem is, later never comes it seems...
P.S.
I think you only need to be a halfling to use it, regardless of class.

It's a common mistake. I can imagine my BH being overly reluctant to cast spells from scrolls if he gets UAI.

True.
Is this upgraded Mazzy sword a vanilla Cromwell item or a mod?
It's a component from the Item Upgrades mod.

Bg2 run update 2S1.20,
The Eyes have it; by Sarah,
I’m courting the church for help against Bodhi by investigating this new cult. A paladin asked to join us but we didn’t need him so we moved on to Kill the shade lich… and another one?

Beholder bashing is easy if you have a Hakeashar but we can only Summon Nishruu and skeleton warriors which have limited tanking abilities… still we managed to slay the beast and even remembered to return the artefact to the temple of I with masturbating statues so as not to die on the way out.

As for my students, they failed to make the ‘Mislead’ scroll but wanted to try a staff of power… I put a stop to that quick smart. This ended the contract and I won’t see them again until their graduations but they all survived and that’s the main thing.

First, near the 'fire pool' he was made familiar with Greater Mummies' ability to paralyze victims with fear.(This must have been aTweaks PnP Undead at work. I didn't know about the ability. PnP Undead is not explained in the readme.)
This is indeed an aTweaks Greater Mummies' ability and it is explained in the readme - just follow the links *More information is available online.* / Aura of Fear. BTW this is not their only dire ability - there is also a very nasty Disease :

Duagloth Dyrr the drow cavalier enters the fray.
He is already quite a powerhouse, so I am not that disappointed that he missed out on the tomes in the Secret of Bonehill and the Greywolf mods.A bit more intelligence would have been nice, but he has to have SOME weaknesses!
Str 20, Dex 20, Con 19, Int 13, Wis 17, Cha 18.
Already he was vying with Drizzt Do'Urden for the title of most popular drow. He did have a reputation of 20 and was exceedingly well equipped. All that is gone now however.
He soon discovered that without his equipment he was nowhere near as powerful, a part of bugbears stripping both him and Imoen of half of their health points.
He spent a full 24 hours sleeping in order to recover, but then remembered to use DUHM before sleeping.
The next group of bugbears we came across, Imoen summoned an ettercap that took the hits, and then blasted them with two fireballs. The last one was then easily disposed of.
The olyughs have been breeding there were three of them, must have been asexual reproduction though.

Gate70/Grond0 multiplayer attempt 66 - (update 2)
Chanter, half-elf cleric / mage (Grond0) & Tuori, halfling shadowdancer (Gate70)
In between work and kensais, Gate70 and I also managed to make some more progress with this odd couple yesterday. They're both powerful in their own way, but not really well suited as a MP combination. Chanter needs to do quite a lot of summoning and buffing to take advantage of her skills (while Tuori twiddles his thumbs). Tuori, on the other hand, can deal with most enemies using stealth and backstabs, but needs to spend a fair amount of time running and hiding to do that while Chanter should really stay out of sight (to avoid enemies chasing her when Tuori disappears in front of their eyes) - she struggles to resist the tempation to help / hinder, however
.
The start of the session was made more difficult by extreme lag, meaning it was difficult to know what our characters were doing, quite apart from the enemies. To give a feel for the effect there were gaps of around 10 seconds between Chanter casting a spell on Tuori and seeing the effects. That contributed to us taking rather more damage than expected after the Beastmaster died in a stinking cloud, but both just survived the animals and successfully helped Hendak.
The Suna Seni ambush stood little chance as Chanter and Tuori were hidden when it sprang and they soon arrived at the Temple District. In the sewers there the rakshasa proved difficult for Tuori to hit, but his backstabs eventually did the job. After opening up the Unseeing Eye quest the duo waded through various yuan-ti on their way to the bridge. The last of those (a mage) confused Tuori though and he ran through the prismatic spray trap before fortunately stopping on top of the bridge just before going into sight of a gauth. Expecting there to be beholders behind the gauth Chanter threw in a cloudkill, but in fact there was just the one gauth waiting in ambush and a couple of skeletons were mainly used against the undead nearby.
Back in the sewers the plan was to buff up to take on Tarnor and his gang. However, that process was only half-done when some odd pathfinding took Chanter into sight of Tarnor - meaning the skeletons didn't make much of an impression on the enemies. Tarnor chased Chanter and took her low on HPs with his throwing axes before she got away. After ganging up on Tarnor (unfortunately too near Roger - turning him hostile), Chanter left the others, such as Gallchobair, pretty much to Tuori's backstabs. That was until he tried one too many of those on Gaius and was held for his pains. Gate70 has been somewhat infected by my refusal to use healing potions, so Tuori didn't have many HPs at the time and an acid arrow looked likely to kill him even after Chanter successfully finished off Gaius. Herself near death she tried a last-ditch dispel magic on Tuori, but to no avail and she had to be content with ferrying the body upstairs to find a priest. On the way out of the area Chanter tried to get a bit of work out of Sir Ryan Trawl, but was told that nothing was available for such disreputable types.
The session ended by seeing if we could make a cleaner job of another dwarf-led party. There was an improvement there with Tuori taking down the mage early and skeletons preventing Brennan Riesling from making a run for it before Mencar found himself on his own and stuck in place.
Stats:
Chanter, cleric 9 / mage 10, 70 HPs (incl. 5 from Helm), 63 kills (138 in BG1)
Tuori, shadowdancer 12, 73 HPs, 56 kills (128 in BG1), 1 death (2 in BG1)

Diary of Duagloth
The two Cambion did us quite a bit of harm, but we recovered.
Later on I was level drained by a wraith.
There were ogres and an Ettin at the exit, but by that time I had Jaheira and Minsc in the party.
Yasaena, another Drow joined us at the exit. She is a half decent fighter who I am keeping since as a drow, I find life a little lonely. Yasraena should understand.
Minsc is a Fright of Liches, a type of paladin. (Changed by Level 1 NPCs)
Upon exit we went straight to the temple to remove level drain.
I will now drop off Jaheira and Minsc until later.
