Well played.
Nexus 7:
Blaggerd lays down the Two Handed rules once more, and Jaheira reluctantly erases Flame Blade from her memorised spells. The rest of the Slaver Headquarters is a bloody affair in many regards, with Minsc down to 2hp against Captain Haegan and Jaheira down to 4hp against the remaining slaver wizards. Blaggerd toughs out a poison trap on the stairs to work out how nasty it is, then Jaheira heals the others enough for everybody to survive the effects, Haer'Dalis and Minsc being treated to slow poison spells. Jaheira is getting nancy about Dorn so Blaggerd grabs the potion case from her, but despite her words with the half-orc Blackguard and later words with Keldorn she does not choose to leave (yet, at least).
The amount of one handed weapons and shields sold is raising decent chunks of cash but Blaggerd is thinking the party are doing OK for weapons while reputation hovers around 10.
Blaggerd : Sword of Chaos +2
Dorn : Rancor (2 handed sword +1, chance of additional +1 to hit for 24 hours if an enemy is killed)
Keldorn : Hallowed Redeemer +2
Minsc : Lilacor +3
Jaheira : Staff of Air +2
Haer'Dalis : Two Handed Sword +2

PC...
Blaggerd and the Two Handed gang continue their travels. Suna Seni is cautious but not cautious enough, venturing out after several area transitions. Her ambush backfires badly, with Blaggerd and emerging unscathed. A few more trips sees the same happen to a second group of attackers, and Renfeld is handed back to the Harpers. A bird is returned to Lucette who belatedly realises she is surrounded by large weapons. She still almost gets away despite two sets of poison but a pair of Absorb Healths seal her fate.
Jaheira briefly leaves, only to return asking for a trip to the Harper HQ. Slight buffing outside pays off with the Harpers inside turning hostile. Keldorn has True Sight running but decides not to dispel enemy buffs as the key enemies have been hit with poisoned weapons. With that battle won, Aran Linvail has handed over a stack of stakes for use at some point. For now the next task is to grab an amulet from the weathermistress of Talos.
With no party thief a bit of brute force has the bedside cabinet in pieces without waking the sleeping priest. Blaggerd decides to raid the sewer bank run by Tarnor the Hatchetman next despite Minsc and Jaheira carrying wounds from the Harper battle. For a second or two it looks as if a fair fight can be expected but two sets of Blackguard poison gives the party time to add insults such as Insect Plague and Tarnor is cut down with his buddies.

You only need to add cash to convert the scales, so should be able to get a duplicate. If you want to check on what's needed for items from the original game (i.e. not modded additions), as well as locations to find them, this is a useful site.
Thanks for the info Grond0. However, my current armour is so good that I am dubious that it is better than what I have. The same applies to the red scale armour.
I have solved the riddle of the golden globe. If anyone knew the answer, thank you for not posting it. It is so easy once you put your head into gear. Now about to take on the vampires.

Thanks all re Delilah - I was actually surprised at how easy the paladin run seemed. My experience of them as a class is that saving throws tend to be their Achilles heel, but being careful early on and wearing the Amulet of Spell Warding for much of the game helped with that.
Gate70/Grond0 multiplayer attempt 69 - (1st and final update)
Rehash, dwarf fighter / thief (Grond0) & Ervali, half-elf diviner (Gate70)
The first and final update for this pairing in BG1 represented a triumph as they cruised through the opening game in a single session. The same heading this time regrettably represents a more typical story for us
.
Things seemed promising as the duo made their way through the dungeon, handed Hendak the Copper Coronet and restored the circus to normal operation. Flushed by their success they agreed to seek revenge on the cowled wizards by deliberately summoning them. My prior experience has been that a mage can kill them with very little risk by using stinking cloud / web / cloudkill / skull traps from out of sight of where they spawn. However, once they're aware and active they are dangerous.
We hadn't planned properly what we were going to do and as a result triggered the first encounter with no web or stinking cloud, no cloudkill, only a single skull trap and no summons. However, we proceeded anyway and things looked promising when one of them was killed by three pre-laid thief traps and a second by a skull trap. The third was affected by chaos and the fourth by horror - at which point Rehash showed himself to start working through the stoneskins of the one under chaos. At that point the AI struck back by rather cheesily taking advantage of a major problem with horror - that is that it seems to operate by sequentially telling a character affected to run around, but with short gaps in between instructions. While these are not long enough for a PC to take advantage under manual control, they do allow an AI script to take some actions - and in this case the mage successfully cast PW:stun on Rehash. He had 80+ HPs, which means the stun should last only 1d4 rounds and must have been unlucky on this occasion as he was still stunned when the other mage recovered from chaos and put him out of his misery with a particularly vicious ADHW - which instantly killed Ervali as well as Rehash.

Don't think I've come across that one - is that the result of a mod?
Perhaps. I don't know.
I am having a problem with Krondor. It is a bit buggy, but until now, not a major problem.
I have just got the chance to have Imoen back in the party. Krondor however is unresponsive. Can't access his possessions. As he is my only cleric and none other available this is a major problem. He has full hit points and his dog is responsive but not him.
Sleeping does no good, neither does kicking him out of the party. No sign of any spells affecting him. Any ideas anyone?
Is this a bug? If it is, the only option I have is the auto-save as the party enters spellhold.

You could try ctrl-R (with console command cheats enabled) which should reset any corrupted status conditions. Alternatively killing and resurrecting sometimes works for the more evilly inclined ...

Thanks a lot. It worked. ![]()
Not long afterwards Mazzy got confused by a yua-tin mage and attacked. She must have got a critical hit! Nalia cast web and Krondor cast a healing spell but too late.

Gate70/Grond0 multiplayer attempt 70 - (update 1)
St John, human berserker (Grond0) & Vargus, human kensai (Gate70)
After finding BG1 pretty easy this pair became a bit blase and have struggled at the start of BG2.
In the dungeon there was an early reminder from a golem about Vargus' vulnerability to criticals. It wasn't long thereafter when he got into combat with too many duergar at once and then failed to run away in time to escape some magic missiles. St John then minimised his activities in the dungeon in order to escape quickly and find a temple.
The circus was taken down without alarms, as was the Copper Coronet. However, after provoking an ambush by Suna Seni, the duo struggled to deal with it - and Vargus took his second early bath of the session.
St John had also been taking more damage than he found comfortable and sought out Officer Dirth to persuade him to hand over his plate armour. The session ended with the duo on their way to protect Vargus from criticals by pinching Pai'Na's ioun stone.
Stats:
St John, berserker 9, 108 HPs (incl. 5 from Helm), 287 kills
Vargus, kensai 9, 75 HPs, 209 kills, 2 deaths

Update of Impish Face & Co.
Being aware that during first rest out of Spellhold' dungeon PC will change into Slayer we cast Pixie Dust beforehand so no casualties there. The fact that we all were invisible doesn't stop Saemon, Lonk the Sane, inmates and later Irenicus himself to *see* us and talk so we were able to begin the fight in relative safety. Irenicus summoned our clones and then, for whatever reason, immediately Imprisoned Nalia-clone...
Well, the less mages on the scene, the better. We observed Jon's prebuffs - pro magic energy/electricity but not pro fire, good. Improved Mantle (so arrows of dispelling aren't an option) but not any fire shields - double good! Let's play *Catch a mosquito* game! Clone-Viccy called for Aerial Servant whom Nalia Death Spell-ed as it is quite annoying being enemy. Clone-Jaheira cast her own Insect Plague on Impish Face but he outran it and cast Fire Shield from the scroll. She then brought a Nymph on the scene who Blinded real Jaheira and Viconia. Viccy ran True Seeing at the moment to remove Jon's Shadow Door so was cured and hit him with Flame Strike. Impish Face added some Agannazar's Scorcher from the wand and after one more Flame Strike he surrendered ... for the moment. Then we finished remaining clones as well as Yoshimo and some "murderers":
On the way back to the city we looted Irenicus' room for Doomplate +3, fought some more Aerial Servant and Sirines/Lizardmen. Viccy paid a visit to Perth the Adept, endured his ADHW and lured outside where the rest of the Crew waited near Pirate King's house. Perth Gated a Cornugon but far away from the Crew then followed them inside just to receive a friendly welcome. Found a book of infinite spells in his house and skipped Stinking Cloud for Invisibility at the moment.
Some more pirates were killed but Imoen suffered my impatience inside the Cayia's house obtaining the Pirate Horn (failed to find trap on the closet with 120 in Find/Remove Traps...
).
The ship cast off, was overrun by Giths looking for their sacred Blade and then by some Sahuagin so we ended in their City:
There we got Boots of Avoidance from Spectator's chest, Adjatha The Drinker +2 from Sea Zombie Lord, Giant Hair Crossbow +3 from rebel priestess, War Hammer +1,+4 vs. Giantkin from Imps, killed mad King Ixilthetocal for Crimson Chain +5 and Daystar and were rewarded by Prince Villynaty with Amulet of Power (at last!
). Pretty happy with new-found shiny ones we bid farewells to him and carefully descended into Underdark being almost knocked down by some blurry dwarven figure running (or rather racing) the same direction.
Current state:
Impish Face: Fighter (13) / Illusionist (13), 676 kills (Lea'liyl);
Jaheira: Fighter (12) / Druid (13), 187 kills (Bone Golem); 3 revival
Nalia: Swashbuckler (5) / Mage (16), 127 kills (Unseeing Eye);
Viconia: Cleric (19), 34 kills (Mogadish);
Mazzy: Fighter (17), 192 kills (Adamantite Golem); 1 revival
Imoen: Thief (7) / Mage (14), 10 kills (Rebel); 1 (stupid) revival.
to be continued...

The Two Handed gang ground to a halt in Windspear ruins, 5 of them standing idle while the protagonist killed the genies with fire protection which expired against the last one. He was almost through the fireshield when a flamestrike took what remaining life there was.
To say I am out of practice is an understatement, feeling a lot rustier than say 2 years ago and affecting multiplayer too unfortunately. This may remain the case for some time but intention is to get back on form when other commitments die down. Meanwhile I must try not to get Grond0's characters killed too often...
