Bob the Biffer II (update 12 - Into the Underdark)
Grond0, you should consider making a video. "BGT in 5 seconds".
Good luck.
Well done Grond0. A most entertaining run. ![]()
Congrats on taking down Irenicus, Grond0 - getting close, keep up the focus. And if you are tired/distracted, play your run another day.

Thanks all. I don't think I actually did anything wrong, but Bob has biffed her last ...
For Draconis she ran round for a while until the dragon came out to play then ran round a bit more getting Draconis to use up an invisibility before bringing out Ras. That engaged the dragon while Bob put in a GWW from the rear until she was buffeted away. Coming back again she attacked again and, despite Ras disappearing, felt she had a chance of finishing the dragon off with another GWW when this happened.
Her saves were all high in minus figures. I'm pretty sure she hadn't been malisoned, but even if she had been her saves would all have been good enough to prevent any instant death attacks. Looking at the screenshot it looks like her body has been displaced from her equipment which suggests she might have been buffeted at the end. However, she had over 140 HPs when engaging so I'm struggling to see how Draconis could have legally insta-killed her. I'd checked she still had acid protection at 50% before engaging a second or two earlier, but even if that had been dispelled right at the end I don't think even a full dose of acid in conjunction with a buffet could have killed her. However, irrespective of my feelings one thing is clear - that is a dead parrotBob.
Edit: thinking further about it, Draconis' acid stream is quite capable of hitting a character multiple times if they are moving or close to a wall that can reflect the acid. If Draconis was somehow able to breathe acid at the same time as using a wing buffet that could account for her being hit more than once by a single breath ...
Wow Grond0, you seem to have a patent on mysterious deaths.
I'm very sorry about Bob's inexplicable demise. She had been steamrolling through the game...
Grond0, just as a point of record I HAVE seem characters hit multiple times at once by his acid breath. He's gotten rid of my acid protection before too, if it's not equipment.
Condolences, Grond0. I was just about to login and chide you for going too slow (Hurry up, Grond0! Bob's hungry: she wants a grand slam!), when I saw Draconis, preening, victorious. Bummer.
Can we look forward to a hermaphroditic Bob the Biffer III?

The combination of a high framerate setting and a speedy install likely accounts for Grond0's monopoly on murder mysteries.
Judging from the screenshot, I'd say it was Mrs Plum with the candlestick.
Truthfully, I suspect that Grond0 has it right: the breath weapon. Draconis's breath weapon can kill solo characters quick if they are running without 100% protection. Unfortunately, a kensai who eschews potions and isn't willing to take a helping hand from a friendly mage can't reach full immunity.
The bummer is that Bob's death ends our would be winstreak at one
. Hopefully Eyesore and Danya can get us started again.
Go Eyesore and Danya!
Best,
A.

Yes: He has a remove in vanilla, IIRC.
I typically nudge him into wasting his remove while my characters are out of range. SI:A is run when its available. I also keep scrolls, potions, and or spells in reserve in case of a mistake that necessitates rebuffing.

Not just one remove magic, but many (possibly infinite) in this install. I have in the past gone through a whole heap of scrolls against him, but this time was trying to keep the battle short and take advantage of the kensai's strength on the offensive. Even so, Bob was on her 3rd acid protection scroll at the time she died ...

I've had the same thing happen to me. Which is why I always give the shadow dragon armor to my PC, unless he can't use it.
Condolences, Grond0. What might have happened is that in non-EE games dragons sometimes (Thaxy being the prime example) use breath attack twice simultaneously. This would hit Bob for 12d6 x 2 acid damage, presuming both saves were succesfull, + 12+1d8 crushing from Wing Buffet.
Still doesn't ramp up to instakill with 140HP unless you're terribly unlucky, and is impossible with 50%Acid resistance... ![]()
@Blackraven: Looks like Glorrydd is making good progress - with any luck she can follow Corarcher into the Throne of Bhaal.
Thanks Corey! There's still a long way to go for her in SoA, but she's had a good start

Noted. How does the targeting mechanic work does he target on self or the player? What's the AoE?

Agreed. If I don't have Abjuration spells, I use the Shadow Dragon Armor in that fight. Bob, of course, didn't have that option.
All told, it sounds like a tough battle for a Kensai.
Tragic end aside, nice work with Bob, Grond0

It's targeted on the player. AoE seems to be standard for remove magic as far as I can tell.
Go Eyesore and Danya!
Regrettably they've gone ...
Gate70/Grond0 multiplayer attempt 73 - (8th and final update)
Eyesore, gnome illusionist (Grond0) & Danya, elf fighter/mage (Gate70)
There was a promising start tonight when Abazigal concentrated too long on a mordy sword and Danya was able to pummel him from the rear. As expected the Slayer was then never competitve in the 3rd pocket plane challenge.
Moving on to Sendai's enclave the drow captain and his cronies were subject to a surprise attack and failed to put up much of a fight. Various opposition in the enclave proper was either bypassed or smacked down - though Ogremoch did come quite close to embarrassing Danya. In the final fight with Sendai's statues things went quite well initially, although one planetar was sent hostile by an encounter with a pit fiend and had to be put down by Danya. However, the real Sendai proved to be a different matter. The current planetar chose to unsummon early on, exposing Danya to attack and she was tagged by harm. A couple of blows from Foebane got her up to 9 HPs before Sendai landed another killing blow. After she was resurrected a final planetar was sent into the attack, but it lasted only seconds before becoming another harm victim. Trying to put an end to Sendai's antics before her summons became too overwhelming Danya then tried a GWW assault - and once more was subjected to harm (I don't think she ever learnt spell immunity and spell turning had been dispelled a while before). This time though the immediate follow-up blow was too much for her constitution to stand and the shattered fragments of her body disappeared into the ether.
Eyesore continued the battle for a minute or two, but he had no easy way to win and soon resigned himself to the fact that there was no way forward without his companion.
