Seeing the screenshot I tought the trap got Dylan. Why tackle the cheesy cursed Beholders?
@Golden, afaik only SCS versions up until v21 contain the Improved Irenicus in Hell component; more recent versions do not. I doubt whether SCS v21 is compatible with the EEs. It's a fun but very hard fight though.
I second Serg's suggestion to play wth Ascension, both for the story and for the entertaining battles. You would have to install the Big Picture mod though (selecting only the Asenscion component unless you want other components as well).
I think you can install Tactics Irenicus and then SCSv30 over it. It should work, but the results may be very cheesy (Tactics isn't the most fair mod out there). I wouldn't vouch for it in any case.
And yes, I'm with Serg & Blackreven on Ascension. No Ascension- no play for me.
I'm bit busy making a little mod of my own (all my spare time for BG is going there now), when that's done it's (finally!) play time.

Going on above comments I decided to do the non-ascension improved Irenicus that BR did, and the BP Ascension for TOB if I get there.
Thanks guys, Cheers!

Welcome Hansefar. I look forward to seeing that inspiration turn into success for your own run
.
Yeah, well, I always avoid no-reloads, but maybe I've changed my mind because of this thread - Who knows? ![]()
Lets see what time I can find.

O damn they didnt include the improved Irenicus battle in Hell in the latest SCS2 version, meaning I dont have it!
When I challenged Irenicus as a test to see what would spawn (I will do an episode report for u guys up until that final battle soon), only demons spawned.
Im kind of in doubt now, beat Irenicus with vanilla scs or try to get an older version of scs? What do you guys think?
Cheers!

It's decent (hard) enough even with "only" Demons.

Hey Golden, like I said (but you may have missed that), SCS v21 is the last version that still included the Improved Irenicus in Hell Tactics Hybrid; newer versions don't have it. I'm pretty sure SCS v 21 is not compatible with the EEs. The same goes for the original Tactics mod (which also offers that battle): not available for EE.
I agree with Aasim that you could simply decide forgoing that battle (it's very hard; Norgath the Bounty Hunter has been my only Charname to survive it).
If however you really want to include those elements, then your only option would be to download Big Picture. Install only those components that aren't touched by SCS. For example. Ascension and certain Tactics components like Improved Ilych, Lich in the Docks, and the Improved Irenicus in Hell that you're after.
As regards install order, I think you'd have to uninstall SCS, install BP Ascension and any Tactics components you're interested in, and then SCS. That way SCS scripting should apply to the Ascension and Tactics components.
FYI I added the following Tactics components to my BGT install (and installed SCS over them):
These components plus Improved Ilych all offer something extra that SCS doesn't cater for. Note that I didn't install Improved Ilych because apparently that component conflicts with Baldur's Gate Trilogy, but you should be able install all these BP components plus Improved Ilych plus Improved Irenicus in Hell (which I installed via SCS v21). Some of the components won't matter to your current Eren though, as he's already nearly done with SoA.
One disclaimer though: if you really think this is your last run (which I certainly don't hope), then maybe you should consider not installing any of the above components. It would increase Eren's likelihood of survival.

Dear BR,
Thanks for your help. I am already standing before the eyes of Bhaal, so the final battle is the only one that concerns me right now. Let me get this straight:
1. If I want Ascension TOB, which I want, I need to download TBP mod, un-install SCSII, install Ascension parts, Re-install the latest SCSII. So I need to do this ANYWAY if I want Ascension. That means I might as well install the tactics improved Irenicus part, right?
2. I am taking in account both you and Aasim saying any part from Tactics is cheese btw, so im still thinking about wether its worth it to risk a cheesy end..., Since you are the only one who finished it with a no reload solo bounty hunter, which is amazing btw, could you talk a little more about how cheesy this fight is?
And your last question: yes this is my last run, Ive exhausted all builds and run out of ideas for BG 1 and 2.
Cheers!

No particular reason. I'd been working hard for a few weeks and didn't really have energy to think about what to do next so just let Dylan follow his nose. The mistake wasn't so much with the choice of target as with the tactics though - he could have just kept destroying the beholders safely from out of sight (even without resting he could have used the Necklace of Fireballs to finish off).

You're welcome.
And yes, you might as well install Improved Irenicus in Hell. If you want e.g. SCS scripting to apply to Ascension components or for example to the behavior of Irenicus' demons in Hell, you'd have to install SCS last. Take a look at this post on the Beamdog forums. It explains install order, and it includes two small fixes that I'd recommend you to copy into your Override folder.
This link gives you a good impression of what to expect. Quoted from there:
"SCS makes an adaptation of Tactics' version of the final fight against Irenicus. One of the key differences between the SCS and Tactics versions is that Irenicus will no longer steal certain items like the Amulet of Power or the Cloak of Mirroring. Either way, it's a much improved take on the final battle of Shadows of Amn. Irenicus no longer shows up right away as a Slayer who stands around passively while the party routinely wastes his Demon helpers, as per vanilla BG2. Instead, he brags that he made far better use of the same tests you have just completed. He has sundered his spirit into five separate entities, each of which embodies the vice or sin associated with each of the five tests. Each merits an individual description.
- Dragon of Pride – A beefed up version of the Shadow Dragon. It is only harmed by +3 or better weapons, meaning the Dragon Slayer can’t touch it. Like the Shadow Dragon, his breath weapon drains levels but with an area of effect comparable to Firkraag’s fire breath.
- Wraith of Wrath – A Sarevok look-alike that can’t be touched by magic, hits for plenty of damage, and drains strength with a touch.
- Sword of Greed – Sort of like Mordenkainen’s Sword, and it won’t get harmed by physical attacks. It can also drain levels with its physical attacks. It is vulnerable to magic damage though.
- Orb of Fear – A Beholder that can temporarily drain Constitution at a distance. Can actually kill a party member outright if enough Constitution is drained.
- Selfish Jon – The same David Warner-voiced Irenicus that we’ve all come to love and hate. Two important differences to note here. One is that he can recharge himself at will, meaning cheesy ‘drain his repertoire’ strategies won’t work. He can also ‘shatter magic’ (dispel your protections) at will."
They spawn at the exits to areas of the Hell Trials they represent. (E.g. the Wraith of Wrath spawn in front of the northwest Hell Trial exit, where you battle Wraith Sarevok. The Orb of Fear spawns in the southeast, etc.)
I was especially wary of the Beholder (or Hive Mother) with its ranged CON drain ability, and would therefore recommend you to get rid of that one first, for example with a bunch of Spike Traps (maybe three). You might want to move your entire party to the southeast so that some enemies don't see you right away. The sword can easily be dealt with using magic damage (e.g. sequencered Magic Missiles and a Horrid Wilting). Sarevok requires Stoneskins/PfMW or ranged weapons because he hits like a truck. I've seen Eren do very well against dragons, so you probably know what to do with the Dragon of Pride. And unfortunately I can't say much about Selfish Jon (he didn't do much last time a character of mine faced him).
And your last question: yes this is my last run, Ive exhausted all builds and run out of ideas for BG 1 and 2.
You like dualclasses no?
Have you tried Assassin 9 -> Fighter? You get a grandmaster fighter with 3 doses of poison per day, quadruple backstab damage and two Thief skills for you to pick. Very badass. Or a Kensai->Druid with Barkskin/Ironskins to make up for the lack of Armor, and with multiple APR, and lots of summons.

Hmmm br your link to the install order doesnt work...
EDIT: nm I found it myself
http://forums.beamdo...guide-and-fixes
I will finish the game on vanilla first and keep the savegame as I read on multiple forums that using TBP mod midgame can seriously screw it up.
ps: my first action after all this is write up the second to last episode up until the eyes of bhaal today or tomorrow ![]()

Wow, what a bloody affair Golden... Congrats on pulling through, and on effectively completing SoA!!! (Regardless of what you'll do with Tactics.)
Potty is right btw. The component that you want is called Improved Irenicus. I didn't know about the Improved Trials component, but that must be about the Hell Trials you do to collect the Tears of Bhaal, before facing Irenicus.

Thx for the congrats
