Blaggerd puts down his journal, realising that Hexxat has cooked in the sun while he was busy writing up his adventures (oops). He returns inside and rests until she elects to appear again.

Bodhi is pleased with progress and asks if Blaggerd is ready to set sail for Brynnlaw. Blaggerd wants to trade goods first, but returns empty handed when he sees the prices (reputation 6). Off to Brynnlaw then.

Ginia is helped before Perth is killed. The co-ordinator in Spellhold turns out to be Irenicus, and Blaggerd loses his Bhaalspawn abilities. There are a few close calls escaping the first part of the Spellhold maze (umber hulks killed Dorn, bone golem almost killed Hexxat and Blaggerd, skeleton warrior almost killed Blaggerd and pit fiend almost killed Blaggerd). Time for a break.

Gate70/Grond0 multiplayer attempt 80 - (update 5)

Evan, halfling shadowdancer (Grond0) & Porril, human ranger (Gate70)

Our latest session to travel round the world in 80 attempts started with clearing the remainder of Firkraag's dungeon - with the exception of Big Red himself.  The main obstacle there was an adamantite golem, but Porril fared better against that than in similar combats in the previous session - the slow effect of the FoA meaning he only had to retreat once to heal up before coming back in for the final blow.

Spoiler

Next up was Umar where some initial quests saw Porril bag Ilbratha.  That proved useful in fighting the large groups of undead in the dungeon - levels were still too low for liches and Porril had no problems with the melee combats.  The Shade Lord was struggling to hold on at near death from an initial whack or two and just had time to see oblivion coming in the form of a sunray.

Spoiler

Our cautious streak continued with the decision to also leave Thaxy for another day.

Back in Athkatla the duo used Valygar's decomposing body to grease the locks on the Planar Sphere before heading to the Temple Sewers.  An initial backstab on Gaius nearly killed him, but Evan's attempt to retreat using his shadowstep ability failed to trigger for some reason and he took quite a bit of damage while retreating before being able to go back into stealth.

Spoiler

Porril led a second assault to finish the mage - the others then went down pretty quickly.

Spoiler

Mekrath's PFNW wouldn't have helped him against Porril even if he hadn't been webbed by Kitthix anyway.

Spoiler

His umber hulk guards did a bit better, confusing Porril for a while, but didn't hurt him significantly with Evan blocking the chasing pack using stealth.  The local illithid were also tackled.  This area has caused us problems in the past, but a potion of invulnerability provided enough protection to prevent Porril being stunned or dominated and his decent AC meant the illithid struggled to hit him.  The ones in the second room did manage to get him down to intelligence 6, prompting a brief retreat, but the final room was cleared without incident.

Spoiler

After finally getting around to buying the Ring of Air Control, the next target was Mencar's gang.  Porril's improved hasted attack was much too quick for Brennan to have a chance of escaping, but his comrades put up a better defence and Porril actually resorted to a couple of healing potions before finishing Mencar off.

Spoiler

The final action of the session saw Sir Sarles departing in protest against the quality of the local sculpturing materials, after Evan had avoided the distressing sight of the child spirits by one-shotting Neb.

Spoiler

Evan also backstabbed Borinall to get the Dawn ring for the Lathander temple, after getting tired of waiting for Porril to get past a rat in the doorway to come and talk to Borinall.

Stats:

Evan, shadowdancer 18, 77 HPs (incl. 7 from ioun stone), 201 kills

Porril, ranger 14, 125 HPs (incl. 5 from Helm), 470 kills, 0 deaths (1 in BG1)

Blaggerd sends Dorn in to the painting statue room, all that is left are three paintings on the floor. There is no sign of the previous party member, Blaggerd's suspicion is that they have been disintegrated (& confirmed via a NI check). Various items have also been lost forever.

Spoiler

Having told Imoen to make her own way home, Blaggerd has no choice but to continue with a party of 5.

Blaggerd realises a few items have duplicated (the 3 paintings). All 21 tokens are found, providing Dorn with Boots of Speed and Viconia with Boots of the North.

Lonk the Sane takes two critical hits before a hit from Blaggerd chunks him, meaning the party buffs will be carried through into the confrontation with Irenicus

Spoiler
Irenicus is immune to poison so only badly injured by the time everybody retreats for Wanev's Timestop
Spoiler
Irenicus is then immune to the Blackguard weapons so the party retreat and throw up the berserk warrior, Kitthix and a wyvern. Dorn and Blaggerd get some nasty spells thrown at them (flesh ti stone, disintegrate but death wards active) so they retreat. Viconia fails to save against Finger of Death but Edwin has used Remove Magic and Breach so Blaggerd and Dorn move back in

Blaggerd hands Dorn the Rod of Resurrection to save unequipping potions, and the half-orc raises Viconia. Once she has re-equipped the party heads upstairs, Edwin having taken the opportunity to fill his newly acquired level 6 spellslots. Dorn is chomping at the bit about his next patron quest - for all the good it will do him while stuck in Spellhold, Brynnlaw, the City of Caverns or the Underdark.

Hexxat loots Jon's room as a stone golem moves past Saemon Havarian and into the swords of Blaggerd and Dorn. Saemon offers to help make good an escape and Blaggerd accepts. After stealing a pirate horn a battle ensues, followed by another battle with Gith and Sahuagin. With their ship floundering, the party are transported to the City of Caverns. Edwin ransacks a sahuagin store to pick up any cheap scrolls he can obtain, and then sniffs out other items of great magical interest. Blaggerd decides to put up with this behaviour and is ultimately rewarded when Dorn and he are surrounded

Spoiler
and
Spoiler

Blaggerd has so much fun killing the Sahuagin King and Prince that he almost forgets to loot their treasury and has to traverse the city again before descending into the Underdark.

Hexxat reports three mind flayers ahead and suggests fair or foul means to deal with them. Blaggerd goes for foul, two skeleton warriors, an invisible stalker and a nishruu with haste, chant and protection from evil. Hexxat uses her Tuigan shortbow to snipe from a safe distance.

Edwin purchases all four Freedom scrolls from Carlig, fluffing the first but memorising the second. Two spares...

A group of drow priests are tackled, then the occupants of a soul gem machine are released, although only one (Bedlen) is spared.

Gate70/Grond0 multiplayer attempt 80 - (update 6)

Evan, halfling shadowdancer (Grond0) & Porril, human ranger (Gate70)

Porril uses his ranger skills to point out some recent signs left by Blaggerd's progress - you know the sort of subtle things that only a ranger could spot, like large heaps of bloated and decaying corpses.  Keen to follow the trail Porril quickly led the way to the Guild Contact - killing him quickly, but not quickly enough to recover both invulnerability potions.

Spoiler

Moving on to the vampire hide-out Evan taunted a sword spider into following him and then disappeared - the enraged spider then attacked Haz, causing him to run in terror and refuse to acknowledge that all his enemies were dead.

Spoiler

Not to worry as Porril knows the routine anyway and he soon cleared the top level of vampires with the exception of Tanova - at which point Haz recovered his senses and sent a message saying he's buggering off (annoyingly taking the staff mace with him).  Venting his frustration Porril took only a single blow of his mace to destroy Tanova

Spoiler

and the various undead downstairs fared no better.

Spoiler

Only the efreeti was available for use against Bodhi, but with Porril using Gaxx improved haste for 9 APR that proved to be plenty.

Spoiler

After upgrading the MoD and purchasing the Shield of Balduran the duo set sail for Brynnlaw.  The first test there was passed with flying colours - Perth being unable to get his stoneskin up before 2 whacks from Porril had rendered it useless.

Spoiler

His book though proved a disappointment - 3 copies of fireball and a burning hands being left to decorate the floor.  Evan also got into trouble there when his detect traps seemed remarkably slow and failed to show the danger of opening a chest there - luckily the result was just a harmless stun.

Spoiler

In Spellhold Evan had a fight with Bhaal.  He had tried to avoid losing some intelligence by fake-talking to the genie outside, but couldn't quite finish Bhaal off before the genie remembered it was supposed to be applying a deduction.

Spoiler

Imoen was then told to take a hike before the duo started fighting their way out.  Some umber hulks confused Porril, but the game surprisingly allowed Evan to run away (it was unlikely the 2 remaining umber hulks would have been able to finish him off anyway).

Spoiler

The lich didn't last long against the iMoD,

Spoiler

while the SoB was pulled out of a backpack to ensure the beholder was helpless.  Porril saw some remaining traces of an unfortunate experience for Blaggerd in the painting room and wisely used the RoAC and protection from fire there.  There was one oddity when Evan's gem bag disappeared from his inventory.  It took the recently acquired ring of free action and a ring of fire resistance with it along with a few other things, but we decided that wasn't important enough to justify a reload.

While exiting the asylum Porril was confused again by a myconid and Evan hastily did the required conversations before Porril could attack anyone.  Lonk died quickly following a backstab to leave the route open to Irenicus.  Evan couldn't see in that battle where Porril had jumped to and was left briefly exposed to a PW: stun,

Spoiler

but Porril used the RoAC on him and provided a guard until Jon decided he had had enough.

Spoiler

The duo finished the session by failing to jump off a sinking ship and being taken down to Fish City.

Stats:

Evan, shadowdancer 21, 83 HPs (incl. 7 from ioun stone), 229 kills

Porril, ranger 16, 131 HPs (incl. 5 from Helm), 618 kills, 0 deaths (1 in BG1)

Viconia has cast Free Action on Blaggerd and Dorn, stopping them from being stunned but slowing their attacks down. Dorn has switched to a non-proficient quarterstaff as the only spare +3 weapon available, and it is starting to look like over-confidence in not starting with summons may catch them out. Blaggerd steps back briefly to gulp a healing potion, as does Hexxat soon after moving in. The Balor turns to Dorn and Blaggerd immediately returns to kick the Balor back down the hole.
Spoiler

The Western Tunnels.
Hexxat locates a beholder and two gauth, allowing Viconia to send in a sacrificial berserk warrior. Once the death spell has been used three hasted and blessed skeleton warriors attack with a nishruu sent moments later. The summons clear the room, and make decent inroads into the next room of kuo-toa until Edwin gets bored and drops a death spell into the mix. As for the Demon Knights, Edwin makes a slight mistake by casting Improved Invisibility before Improved Haste so Blaggerd and Dorn have to settle for an ordinary Haste. No matter, here's Blaggerd landing the first blow against the geared-up Demon Knight.
Spoiler
.

Blaggerd takes the Str-21 girdle while Dorn takes the Soul Reaver +4 sword. A quick check is required - Blaggerd starts with a THAC0 of -2 and ends up with a THAC0 of 6 after 4 hits. Edwin moves slightly behind Viconia and Hexxat as the menacing front-line just got a bit more menacing. Blaggerd and Dorn are shredding lizards left and right but Edwin and his Death spell are determined not to let them have all the fun.
Spoiler

The Kuo-Toa Prince has his regeneration put to the test with two sets of Blackguard poison bloating him before the staggering summons can join in the fun.
Spoiler

Only the drow party remain. They manage to confuse Hexxat, but once they are dead Edwin dispels her affliction.
Spoiler

Viconia suggests the beholder and illithid tunnels are optional, Blaggerd stares at her. Leave something alive?? Viconia sighs, suspecting this attitude will be the death of him, no doubt sooner rather than later.

Æthelstan the Brave

Having defeated Sarevok, I somehow ended up in a dungeon in Amn. The dungeon could not hold me, and I killed all enemies with the help of Imoen. I was level drained by a wraith which caused some problems, but I emerged safely. The first place I went to was the temple of Ilmater to regain my levels. You would have thought that Ilmater’s servants would have offered this at a lower price. Daylight robbery, I call it. 750 gold pieces! That was a large proportion of my wealth and I still have decent armour to buy. At least a Djinn gave me a half-decent sword.

Kuo-Toa block the way forward. Edwin has protected Blaggerd and Dorn from fire while Viconia has cast chaotic commands on Dorn, and this combination sees them safely through. Edwin only gets three kills from a Death spell and is already dreaming about how to learn something more deadly.

Into the beholder lair, and a hasted run with 2 invisible, 1 sanctuaried, 1 improved invisible and 1 stealthed character. Straight into a group of drow fighting a beholder which gets several eyefuls of poison. Once the drow are down the berserk warrior is sent back to the entrance, followed at a distance by three skeleton warriors and a nishruu. They deal with the Elder Orb and beholder, and a gauth further into the lair. Another beholder is doing better so Hexxat lays traps and gets a skeleton warrior to draw the beholder in.

Outside to rest, returning for a second pass. The area is cleared, although Edwin shows himself twice. He gets away with it first time around but his chaos spell has no effect, a second attempt at cloudkill sees him killed. Viconia raises him as Hexxat retrieves his gear. After that, he decided to wait until the skeleton warriors had done the hard work although Hexxat can't help sticking the sword from Renal Bloodscalp into anything that is alone and near death. By the end two skeleton warriors remain imprisoned thanks to the two Elder Orbs.

The illithid lair is calling, but Blaggerd is having second thoughts. Maybe sleep on it and see what a new day brings.

Blaggerd, Blackguard 13. 394 kills, Balor. Lilacor.
Dorn, Blackguard 13. 212 kills, Bone Golem. Soul Reaver.
Viconia, Cleric 14. 19 kills, Alchra Diagott. Sling of Seeking +1.
Edwin, Conjurer 12. 60 kills, Drow. Boomerang dagger +2.
Hexxat, Thief 17. 34 kills, Beholder. The Shadows Blade +3.

Blaggerd decides to stay up late, heading into the illithid lair. He's bet Dorn that he can kill more umber hulks in the arena than the half-orc. Both tear into the hulks as Hexxat hits for 32 - only for Edwin to chalk up all three hulks with another Death spell. This is starting to become a habit.

The second battle sees the kuo-toa foiled with poison, cloudkill and spirit armour. Hexxat picks the arena door lock and the hapless ogre outside only hits Blaggerd once as Dorn piles in with multiple Reaver blows.

Blaggerd once again elects for the wall of moving skeletons to keep any stray tentacles shooting up his nose. Edwin is chuckling about being able to try his Death spell out on new foes but a psionic blast holds Viconia and him long enough for Blaggerd and Dorn to clear out two rooms of illithid. Eventually he wails, discovering the illithid magic resistance prevents him from toying with them.

On to the Master Brain, Hexxat and Edwin being stunned in the doorway. This leaves Dorn inside and Blaggerd outside. Viconia steps back and has to choose which of the two stunned people to cast remove paralysis on. She chooses to free Edwin, just as Hexxat dies (didn't see any brain eaten icon so not sure what the death was).
Spoiler
.

One flayer was entirely behind the open door and untargetable, but as Edwin is released he scoots sideways and Blaggerd helps Dorn kill the other flayer and turn to the first. Meanwhile Edwin has found his Death Spell is good for Master Brains - until he reviews the evidence and curses a skeleton warrior.

Simyaz really doesn't get it. Blaggerd and Dorn want the Silver Sword more than he does and their opening negotiation stance is to start with poisoned blades. It's over almost as soon as it starts, with the gith cut down before they can manage a single spell. Truth be told, it takes Blaggerd longer to find the path to Adalon's cave (I can never find this path easily, usually leaving it to Grond0 in multiplayer).

Hexxat has scouted out an ideal ambush site and laid seven snares. Dorn shakes his head, pointing out that the plan is to head north into the cave and then into the city. Blaggerd has a good think about it and suggests the party can fall back to this area if heavily outnumbered. Dorn remains unimpressed.

Adalon disguises the party as drow, even Dorn.
Spoiler

The Ust Natha gate guard challenges the party and Blaggerd feels his true name bubbling uncontrollably in his throat but fortunately the guard only has ears for the words of Viconia, and so the party gain entrance to the subterranean city. Blaggerd quickly seeks out Solaufein and obtains a mission to be undertaken outside the city. The party set off, only to hear wild screams and shrieks. Even from the city gate the keen ears of Hexxat pick out the agonising deaths of a war dog, Pitch, N'ashtar, Boz, a skeleton, Simbja and Chandrilla. No sign of Damien though.

Solaufein suggests preparations for battle should be undertaken. Maybe a couple of chaotic commands then, and some Spirit Armour. Oh, and four snares.

Blaggerd curses as Dorn spills a drink on the journal, losing what must be several minutes work as the ink washes from the page. He thinks back, trying to remember what they'd done. Ah yes...

Dorn was in a bad mood, having to kill a beholder when Hexxat placed some snares badly. Blaggerd had blackmailed the aboleth and no matter how much he tried to break down Qilue's door afterwards, found he was unable to do so. Phaere had granted 3 days rest and with time to kill Blaggerd gravitated to killing time in the fighting pit.

Laosonar. Immune to poison. Not immune to repeated blows from Lilacor.
Chalinthra. Forgot to pack her poison-proof pants. Chunked with a critical for 50 damage.
Drow mage. Cast Hold Person on Edwin, who saved. Edwin summoned a nishruu and invisible stalker then used the Boomerang Dagger.
Drow mage 2. The nishruu and stalker are still present.
Drow mage 3. The nishruu and stalker are still present. The nishruu times-out, allowing the enemy mage to cast one. Edwin runs around until he eludes it, fires in a remove magic, two breaches, a dispel, death spell, slow, haste and uses his Boomerang Dagger.

On to the animal pit.
Umber hulk. Falls to Blaggerd and Lilacor.
Nabassu. Dorn joins Blaggerd.
Sahuagin prince. Dorn and Blaggerd.
Beholder. Dorn and Blaggerd, both with DuHM > poison.

After another rest the next job is outlined. Grab a swirf helmet. Simples. Then kill Solaufein, only Blaggerd decides not to do so. Phaere may require evidence so Hexxat loots everything nearby as Blaggerd borrows the Pifwafwi cloak. Not much worth looting though.

Phaere demands a night of unbridled passion, so Blaggerd obliges by keeping his boots of speed on. Viconia has a chuckle.

The drow Matron Mother demands one of three items be found for her. Blaggerd has the 'Jewson lot' but pretends otherwise so he can fit in a sideline or two. Dodgy in more ways than one. Visaj hands over his magical rope under duress but first Blaggerd must deal with the Ghaunador worshippers - or what is left of them (remember Hexxat's 'badly placed' snares).
Spoiler

Liches are dangerous enemies, reasons Blaggerd. So dangerous that a little cheating is in order.

A lich tooth and a house wardstone. What can it mean, other than the road to riches and revenge. After looting the lich tower, Blaggerd returns to House Jae'llat and kills everybody inside. They put up a good fight but poison and absorb health suffice.

After returning the three items to the Matron Mother, 'Veldrin' is asked to return to Phaere's quarters. On the way Blaggerd stops off to purchase some slaves and equips them for a trip to the surface. Talking to them first is a mistake, meaning the reputation (1) and reward (7500xp) are received twice. Blaggerd will settle for an average reputation of 9 for the time being.

Two egg guards and five golems are defeated, even though Blaggerd and Dorn are tattered from the Jae'llat encounter. Dorn borrows the regeneration ring from Edwin, handing it to Blaggerd just as the summoning ritual is about to start. Blaggerd decides to banish the Lesser Demon Lord after it flames both the Matron Mother and Phaere, and returns the eggs to Adalon. A brief skirmish later, the party emerge from the Underdark and in the searing daylight Edwin immediately (and I mean immediately) translates part of the Nether Scroll.

Elhan has a rant about Hexxat and Viconia, finally relenting on the former but demanding a geas be placed on the latter. So vampires are to be trusted more than drow.

Drizzt and co are encountered on the way back to Athkatla, Blaggerd deciding he needs no help from them with what lies ahead. Kruin the gith wild mage is waiting at the docks and Blaggerd realises the party have not rested and Edwin cannot cast spells without having Cowled Wizards turn up. Viconia leads two Knights a merry dance as Edwin dodges them to throw daggers at Kruin. Blaggerd is picking on a Warlock while Dorn is Reavering Kruin and Hexxat melees a Captain. Viconia parks both Knights onto Dorn so she can start her divine intervention.

Dorn realises he has a poison left, down goes Kruin and he turns to help Hexxat with the Captain. Blaggerd also realises he has a poison left and the Warlock is poisoned then critical chunked for 36. Viconia casts Finger of Death to injure one knight, Dooms the other then Holds both. A gish gulps a potion of invisibility, then everybody realises Blaggerd is having a nap. Scrollback reveals he is unconscious from a psionic blast.

Dorn and Hexxat have eliminated the knights, while Viconia discovers Remove Paralysis doesn't wake Blaggerd up. An Anti-Paladin makes his presence known by trying to hold Edwin. Dorn saunters over to him as Hexxat guards Blaggerd, only to be poisoned. He gulps a healing potion but the poisoned hits keep coming and Dorn is down. Edwin quickly draws the Anti-Paladin away as Viconia casts Dispel Magic and Blaggerd wakes up...

The Gish has also been revealed by the Dispel and is killed by Blaggerd and Hexxat as Edwin brings the Anti-Paladin closer. Viconia is raising Dorn from the dead. Edwin takes a second hit and is poisoned, Blaggerd just reaching him in time with a green potion. The Anti-Paladin switches to Blaggerd who uses his Boots of Speed to keep safe while Dorn picks up some essential equipment. The ensuing Anti-Paladin sandwich quickly collapses and Viconia slows the poison Blaggerd picked up in the closing moments.

Dorn switches to Sewer Troll form on the way to Cromwell's forge as Viconia starts to heal Edwin then Blaggerd hands the mage the regeneration ring. Cromwell forges the Equalizer Sword, Silver Sword and Wave Halberd.

Edwin reads a bit more of the Nether Scroll to get in touch with his feminine side and Cabrina is offering an all-expenses trip to Shou Long to see the Crypts of Durkon. There is another Gish straggler near the Docks entrance but being all alone is a short life sentence.

Blaggerd is struggling to hold all his two handed weapons so enlists the help of the man with the golden hamster. Welcome back Minsc.

The Crypt of Durkon is soon cleared, and on returning to the Graveyard it is night. Blaggerd fends off the inevitable vampire attack without anyone being drained (Viconia is not whisked away either despite her romance being active - a quick check of variable indicates the romance has not progressed far enough for this to happen).

After clearing out the Harper HQ Blaggerd decides he doesn't wish the company of Minsc, so the party drops back to five.

I ususally only see Simyaz and his group use Maze and it often takes a few rounds to appear - they were too slow today.

Chaotic Commands is on my frontliners most of the time now, it lasts a long time, it blocks maze and most enemies in the standard game don't strip defences so it remains active.

After rescuing Aerie, I went to the slum area where Jonathan wanted me to rescue his sister from kidnappers. This I did and gained a reputation increase of 1 up to 14, but I became a fallen paladin!! :?

I think this is an "Unfinished business quest. Can anyone explain?

"Further research has turned up evidence of two other encounters, as well.

One involves some muggers in the Slums" From readme_ub.html.

Am I supposed ask for alternative payment?

I killed Amalas and rescued all the slaves at the Copper Coronet. I had to rest and return after each major grouping since being alone, I was always getting badly hurt. For the trolls I used a potion of firebreath to kill two of them and a potion of explosions for the other. For the last grouping, I used several potions of explosions.

I have now agreed to help Nalia. She is accompanying me, however I will first take her back under the Copper Coronet to open the chests which I was unable to open.

Wise, I haven't used UB much but I don't recall anything about a Jonathan.

Blaggerd talks himself into trouble with Ur-Gothoz by pretending he broke  the patron-link, meaning Dorn is ordered to attack (oops).
There remains an option to mention Azothet which Blaggerd does in desperation.
Ur-Gothoz is interested enough to cancel the order (phew - why do I explore unfamiliar dialogue in a no-reload).

There is no sign of Cabrina (and no journal entry to remind when she was last seen) so Blaggerd agrees to accompany Dorn to Resurrection Gorge. A variety of wild animals attack but are no threat and merely serve to highlight how often the Silver Sword vorpals happen. Addictive.

Treadsoft is ordered to let the party go, as if Dorn and Blaggerd hadn't cut him up enough already. Yarrow tries to dissuade any further incursion towards the Great Tree but Dorn is having none of it and she relents. Winterbrook is trying not to crumble under Dorn's gaze and eventually Blaggerd convinces her to return a Summoning Stone. Blaggerd and Dorn explore the cave anyway, vorpalling a spore colony and myconid to boot.

Viconia casts True Sight, revealing Xachrimos, then starts to talk about Bhaal before Xachrimos can open his mouth. When he eventually speaks it is not enough to save his miserable hide, and he drops an Abyssal Blade as well as a second stone. Dorn backpacks the sword, preferring to keep Soul Reaver. The Magnificent Fil almost cuts a deal but Dorn is not receptive and attacks - Fil quickly handing over a third stone to save his life.

Several corrupted ankhegs have Blaggerd in trouble but an Absorb Health and one healing potion are enough for him to slay them and retrieve a fourth stone. Half a dozen attempts to rest are interrupted with more corrupted ankhegs so the party buffs and enters the summoning circle.

Ur-Gothoz is duly summoned and slain, Dorn discovering his Blackguard powers yet remain. Azothet appears and Viconia laughs as Dorn is revealed to have freed himself from a Glabrezu only to be bound to a Marilith instead, showing even more front than Edwina. Blaggerd knows the right course of action is for Dorn to free himself while he still has the opportunity, but selfishness intervenes and he convinces Dorn that retaining a patron will be the best option. Dorn falls for it. Yarrow appears outside, returning the party to the Great Tree and the party leave Resurrection Gorge. Dorn has a new patron and a new sword with a bound ex-patron, while Blaggerd has a purple crystal in case he ever needs to... romance a faerie dragon?

STILL no sigh of Cabrina, so Blaggerd decides to ransom Lady Elgea and go for a lesson.
Spoiler

Dorn kills Maferan and both Blackguards apply a second poison coating to their blades before Blaggerd fells Stalman. After looting the area, Blaggerd heads to a temple and pays for Viconia to be raised.

Blagged has relented, spending cash at a temple to improve reputation (10). Worse, he's allowed Imoen back into the party and got the Gesen bow forged for her.

Viconia isn't sure quite what she sees in Blaggerd. Take, for instance, his approach with Kangaxx. Has he got balls, or is he crazy?

The approach seems reasonable, until written down, where Viconia and Hexxat are laughably unprepared.
- Blaggerd selects his Dragons Breath +4 halberd. * in halberds plus ** in 2 handed style.
- Dorn sticks with Soul Reaver.
- Edwina has no suitable weapon so stands back to observe.
- Viconia switches to the Mace of Disruption. (After the event, realise this is not upgraded and only a +3 weapon so wasted).
- Hexxat equips the Equalizer. (After the event, checked and saw it was also +3. Daystar was bagged - what a waste.
- Imoen keeps the Gesen Bow at a safe distance, with 470k xp she'd be an easy victim of any spells.

Hexxat lays 3 snares, thinking that would suffice. Plus 4 more a bit further away in case the party runs. Unlikely.
Spoiler

As Kangaxx is restored, the 3 snares only wound him and he has chance to get a timestop in and remove magic. Blaggerd immediately pops up a Death Ward and swings his halberd to defeat the lich. Kangaxx then reveals his true form.
Spoiler

A Demilich Howl is enough to send Hexxat back to her casket. Blaggerd hasn't noticed that the Berserk Warrior has been imprisoned (text feedback earlier and still in progress), nor has Edwina but she's summoning something else anyway.
Spoiler

Blaggerd keeps swatting the demi-lich as the nishruu is imprisoned. Edwina is summoning an invisible stalker now.
Spoiler

One more hit.
Spoiler

A review of the combat log shows the Berserk Warrior imprisoned as the Nishruu appears and the Nishruu imprisoned before the end.
Spoiler

Viconia decides Blaggerd has balls and is crazy, not a good combination. She has no idea how nobody was imprisoned there (me neither).

Dorn and Blaggerd are in agreement. If there is one thing that disgusts them, it is fallen paladins. Anarg and Reynald are cut down while two others of their number are vorpalled (hehe, I'd like a vorpal counter please).

Neb cannot hide from the True Sight of Viconia, and while Blaggerd could turn his head in for a reward it is more tempting to carry it around for a while. Viconia decides the illithium should be added to the Mace of Disruption - Sir Sarles can go jump. Cromwell is asked about forging Crom Faeyr and rudely points out that Blaggerd has no single part of it - added to the "to do" list.

Degarden is waiting at Umar, searching for Edwin. It is tempting to turn him/her in, but Blaggerd resists. Two liches are residing within the temple ruins, the first killed relatively easily by Blaggerd but when the party try to help with the second it fries Edwina and Imoen moves just in time to avoid a second wilting which would have been fatal to her also.
