I have tested the problem regarding my paladin and have discovered that my paladin becomes fallen whenever his reputation goes UP to 14.

 

I am wondering if this is a bug in the crusader kit. It wasn't a problem in BG1. It should be easy enough to test as I can use Shadowkeeper to boost reputation and see what happens when the reputation goes above 14 with a variety of kits.

 

If anyone knows the affect or state in Shadowkeeper that makes a paladin fallen, I would be pleased to know.

 

EDIT

 

Further testing proves that either Crusaders are MEANT to fall at reputation 14, or there is a bug in the kit.

 

I will continue on with the game as I think doing the paladin quest should sort things out. If it doesn't, then it will be my last crusader as PC.

Blaggerd scowls as Cabrina finally turns up with a job in the desert, telling Hexxat this can be done soon. First though, Cromwell. Shadow dragon armour for Hexxat and Red dragon armour for Viconia. Then down into the Temple District sewers to deal with (the?) Alhoon. Return the goblet to Sir Ryan Trawl. Upgrade the Berserker Horn. Hand in Neb's head. Upset Sir Sarles.

Blaggerd short-cuts the Planar Sphere golems

Dorn is making inroads too, using the Wave Halberd whenever salamanders appear, but without a vorpal animation. A Tanar'ri is almost dead but Blaggerd still finds time to vorpal it too.

Protection from Fire wears off but that doesn't prevent two further Tanar'ri getting their hearts ripped out.

Tolgerias gets Remove Magic > Breach > Poison.

The fire room sees Blaggerd vorpal an imp as Dorn Waves two salamanders and an efreet.
The cold room sees more of the same, while the golems in the engine room have a much better time and force Blaggerd and Dorn to stand off while Hexxat finishes a Clay from distance and Imoen deals with an Adamantite until Blaggerd returns to vorpal it.
Blaggerd and Dorn unceromoniously drag Lavok by the ankles until he can see the sky at night (hour 5), and rob him of his ring of Acuity as his eyes glaze over.

Blaggerd spots Travin loitering near to the Planar Sphere exit, meaning the Dawn ring can be found and returned to the Lathander temple.

 

Off to the Graveyard district before Hexxat can start to complain. Blaggerd swears Edwin had protected him against fire, but apparently not. Maybe Dorn got two lots instead?

Blaggerd is caught out by the statue he is carrying, as it suddenly weighs 1000lb. Then Edwin uses mirror images to traverse undetectable traps, releasing a furious genie which immediately petrifies him. Blaggerd has a stone to flesh scroll somewhere, and uses it.

 

(I can't remember this specific bit, how to shut off the traps or enable the container nearby, after finishing it I suspect I needed to put the lamp of oil somewhere as the fine silk in Badiat's statue didn't seem to to anything)

 

Blaggerd is getting a bit angry and impatient, so shoves everyone across the repeating traps after smashing the two remaining statues. He upsets three people in the next room, using poison to cut them down as Viconia uses True Sight to remove their Mirror Images. A floor puzzle is next and after one minor mistake everybody is safely across.

Dorn places his hand inside another statue. Some questions, for which fourth time lucky (I should pay attention). Blaggerd grabs the shroud from Raffiah and agrees with Hexxat that it is time to leave.

 

The de'Arnise Hold is next. The exterior and ground floor are quickly cleared, Dorn then insisting on a rest before heading upstairs. Blaggerd suspects the half-orc intends to snaffle the dog stew while everybody else is asleep.

Having tried to discover whether or not Æthelstan the Brave fell as a result of a bug or whether it was intended, I decided to just carry on and find out what happened.

 

Together with Nalia they defeated Tor Gal and are now in the process of sorting out some problems at the thieves' guild. Æthelstan the Brave got badly injured but survived against Tor Gal. :)

Blaggerd forgot to post his adventures from much earlier today (yesterday). Firing up the game and checking the save order & journal nudges the memory somewhat. Imoen has ~1m xp but Blaggerd, Dorn have 3m each, Viconia 2.9m and Edwin 2.5m so the party found it easy going but need to make sure complacency doesn't rush in.

 

De'Arnise Hold 1st floor.

Spent a bit of time checking bags for the ring of human influence before remembering it disintegrated with Korgan.

Tried a couple of dispels and removes on Glaicas instead. Hexxat considered a dominate but Dorn Reavered him instead.

Golems were done with minimal or no damage.

 

De'Arnise Hold basement.

Warmed up a few trolls, then fed the dog soup to the umber hulks. Dorn obviously enjoyed fishing out the dog meat overnight.

Pulled TorGal back without any buffs and killed him without taking injury.

Dorn moved too far ahead of Blaggerd against the 2 giant trolls (plus 2 spirit trolls and 1 spectral troll). He ran around until they focused on Blaggerd.

Took stewardship of the Hold, unlikely to return.

 

Trademeet.

Killed the Dao Djinn (spirit armour gave enough protection against flesh to stone so no need for improved invisibility).

 

Druid Grove.

Troll mound was taken on in groups rather than trying to draw one at a time.

Defeated the trolls and druids.

Killed Kyland Lind after he surrendered.

Hexxat spilled the beans on the potion seller so no choice but to cut off the rakshasa's head even thought the djinn aren't around to take it.

Spore colonies were no danger.

The three druids were no real threat but Blaggerd decided to try out the Fallen Deva. Dalek Dalok was exterminated.

Blaggerd may have arrived first but Dorn makes up for his lateness after talking to Neeber by Reavering Rejiek Hidesman and Darsidian Moor.
 
The Alikkbar and Lurraxol families are killed off, and Blaggerd considers what is left. Ah, yes.

Blaggerd has reported in after destroying the Unseeing Eye, and done a bit of shopping, including reluctantly handing over his strength girdle for the construction of Crom Faeyr. Hexxat has obtained her first HLA and switched to Carsomyr +5.

After defeating the invaders of Nalia's home we decided to interfere with the thieves guild. That was a mistake. Nalia was uncomfortable about it, and rightly so. The gods were clearly not happy about it as Nalia is no more. :( . When fighting a mage that we were sent to kill by Edwin, we were both panicked which was bad enough, but then finger of death wiped Nalia from the face of the earth, never to return.  I took this as a sign of displeasure from the gods and so did not take on the guild as requested.

 

The death of Nalia is a great loss, and Saerileth joining me does not make up for it.

Along with Saerileth we went and killed the dragon in the Umar Hills.  I must have been positioned perfectly as I was able to kill it without it wounding me once. :)

 

We then killed the Shade Lord. To my surprise, we had to kill a number of liches on the way. They were far harder than the Shade Lord, and Saerileth had to consume numerous potions of extra healing. Even I had to take some despite being much stronger than her. I had been a bit concerned about the altar, not being able to use a sling or bow meant that inflicting the highly effective fire damage, would not be possible, however we did have sufficient ability to finish the task.

Blaggerd may have missed the odd bit here and there, heading down to the vampire nest he briefly detoured to the crypt king (1 hit from Dorn and a vorpal from Blaggerd) to pick up the Namarra sword.

 

Bodhi is occupied with a Fallen Deva while the party eliminate her minions, and although she almost kills it her health fails first. Blaggerd rushes to finish her off but Dorn is quicker so Blaggerd has to make do with staking her instead.

 

Suldanessellar is approached lazily, Dorn taking heavy damage against golems unles Blaggerd vorpals them or Viconia slays them with Crom Faeyr. Raamilat should probably have finished Dorn off but fails to do so.

A trio of rakshasa's are cut down before they can kill the priestess Demin.

 

On to the black dragon.

Blaggerd and Dorn move further apart from each other so the insect plague can only target Blaggerd - his cloak failing to keep them at bay but high hit points and lack of a nearby dragon means they are only a minor irritation.

Imoen replaces her elven chain with the Bladesinger Chain, and adds Boots of Elvenkind shortly afterwards. After killing another group of Rakshasa Viconia warns that she has been found. Blaggerd casts Draw Upon Holy Might as Dorn casts Hardiness and the Handmaiden of Llolth and her Yochol are cut down before Viconia can take too much damage.

 

The House of the Horn is the only remaining building that needs to be dealt with, Viconia Cromming the Clay golem. The Avatar of Rillifane has to wait for Blaggerd to deal with a Maharajah outside and Suneer inside.

Ellisime senses Blaggerd is nearby and directs him to three giant parasites. The first calls up a pair of Fire Elementals to be Waved away by Dorn. A second calls up two Air Elementals - one Reavered by Dorn and the other Vorpalled by Blaggerd. The third has two Earth Elementals, both killed by Blaggerd. With two parasites dead, Blaggerd pauses briefly to examine the third (I might get to do a bit more later tonight).

Thanks Blackraven. One party death due to casual buffing.

 

Blaggerd considers getting Hexxat to lay a series of traps but decides this enemy deserves a fair trial more personal death even if it means the demise of Blaggerd too. The party scatters, leaving Blaggerd facing Irenicus who immediately casts Mislead. Viconia has already started casting True Sight and the illusion is dispelled just as a Time Stop is activated.

 

Prismatic Spray > Time Stop > Maze > Absolute Immunity > Wilt. Then switching to Viconia with Power Word: Kill (there were plenty of Death Wards to go around so I should try and remember to protect everyone in future).

Result: Blaggerd is fine, his cloak and Chaotic Commands protecting him. Viconia dies mid Time Stop.

 

Edwin and Imoen cast Remove Magic and Khelben's Warding Whip, followed by Ruby Ray and Breach. Blaggerd gets a hit with his Dragons's Breath Halberd. Blaggerd and Dorn both poison their weapons, the half-orc moving back in but Irenicus puts up another Mislead. Imoen casts True Sight and it activates just as the Blackguards destroy the image.

More debuffs are required, but Irenicus has de-buffed Blaggerd and mazes him. Edwin and Imoen try more as Hexxat nips in with Carsomyr. Dorn lands one hit before Irenicus gets PfMW up again, so Hexxat returns again. Dorn kills Irenicus while Blaggerd is still mazed (he returned as the dialogue activates so may be scripted that way).

Moral: If you want something doing, send Dorn in.

 

Hell Trials.

Viconia is already restored, pausing briefly to pick up her gear.

Pride Tear. Blaggerd lets the dragon live to provide some immunity to fire, cold and electricity.

Fear Tear. Who needs a cloak? Blaggerd equips the Peridan sword in case his innate resistance to fear doesn't work. Immune to +1 weapons or less.

Selfishness Tear. A chance to get rid of Dorn and gain -2 to AC? Blaggerd chooses 10% magic resistance instead. 

Greed Tear. Yeah, Blackrazor is great but +2 to saving throws is unmissable.

Wrath Tear. +2 STR, although +1 CHA is tempting. Reputation drops to a more managable 14 too. Blaggerd returns to human form mid battle.

 

Wraith Sarevok was in for a bad day, with Blaggerd immune to his weapon. How could it possibly be worse?

Irenicus wants to battle for one last time. Blaggerd reckons his party have buffed properly for once, although no summons were deemed necessary. The two Blackguards risk melee against the Balor's (think they are vorpallers).

Edwin realises his Wilt worked well, so starts to cast a second. The second Balor falls (and I click party members, losing Edwin's spell for him). Never mind, the two Glabrezu only take a hit or two each and scrollback indicates Dorn was hit once for 17 by a Balor while Blaggerd got 12, 14, 17 and 17 from 3 Glabrezu hits.

 

The Slayer illusion is dispelled by Viconia's True Sight. Edwin has cast Improved Haste on Imoen - seems an odd choice but has been working well as her Gesen Bow is highly disruptive. The Slayer Irenicus gets a taste of this.

He Misleads, Edwin decides not to wait for Viconia's True Sight and casts Remove Magic at Vecna speed. This de-buffs the Slayer enough for Dorn to land a poisoned blow and disrupt a spell. Not looking good for the Irenicus Slayer but best to keep the pressure on. Viconia casts protection from fire/cold on herself and moves in with Crom Faeyr. The Slayer is barely injured at this point.

Scrollback. The Silver Sword is ineffective, so +4 weapons are required. Blaggerd switches to his Dragon's Breath halberd, Edwin has nothing good enough and Hexxat switches to Carsomyr. The Slayer is already injured, and as soon as a Blaggerd hit registers he uses his first Greater Whirlwind. Irenicus gives up then teleports to his third location (died early hehe) and from there into the fiery hells.

 

Blaggerd: Blackguard 20. 824 kills, Kangaxx the Demilich.

Blaggerd needs to change the party around for ToB. Dorn has to stay for firepower, Edwin and Viconia for buffing. That leaves Imoen and Hexxat, and Blaggerd is thinking Imoen should perhaps stay and Hexxat should leave.

Someone approaches. Dorn and Blaggerd summon Skeleton Warriors as Viconia protects the party from fear. A lazy buff intended to occupy Illasera while her Black Reavers are Reavered.

Blaggerd loves Retribution. Murder some peasants. Murder some Knights of the Order. Murder Ellisime. No sign of Aran Linvail or a Duke though. :(

 

Sarevok gains five levels from this, and after a brief conflab with Imoen he reaches 100% in Set Traps and the remaining points go towards Move Silently. The party rest and then head into Saradush, where they are accosted by a group of Il-Khan soldiers until Edwin and Imoen double-wilt them. Sarevok is pleased to see rules of the battlefield obeyed so clearly, anything of value being bagged for financial gain. He's gained another level from this encounter, reaching 100% in Move Silently and starting on Detect Illusion.

 

Imoen scares Viekang into leaving while Lazarus is convinced to re-open his store after Hectan tries and fails to leave town.

Blaggerd had found five pairs of speedy boots, Edwin having to dawdle behind for the time being. Various junk items are stored in the Pocket Plane while loot is categorised into treasured items or sold. A few Stone to Flesh scrolls are added to the half dozen Freedom scrolls then the naughty group hide behind a pew in the church and tell Imoen to get some drink a key from Sister Farielle before returning outside.

 

A fireball is incoming, so Imoen picks a lock and everybody nips inside the nearest building. The Orog inside tells the party to get out of the Barracks and Blaggerd declines. He and Dorn play a game to see which guards will survive long enough to be Wilted.

Edwin and Viconia swap boots, her Ring of Free Action nullifying the speed effect for her. Kiser Jhaeri and his defenders are easy pickings thanks to Imoen using a True Sight then helping Edwin de-buff the mage. Her 92% Detect Traps is shown to be troublesome after she fails to detect one upstairs and is partially Wilted. Dorn steps in to a second room as she fails to find two more traps, he gets an Incendiary Cloud and another ill-effect.

 

Down into the sewers, Chaotic Commands being the only buff Dorn and Blaggerd require to eliminate Phyldia and her undead vampires. The prison is full of unscrupulous backstabbers, and something else much worse

The only thing that stops it is the duration of stay, so Edwin summons a second.

 

After clearing the prison and basement, Imoen discovers an entrance into the sewers. Sarevok is keen for experience so the party investigate. Or more precisely, Dorn and Blaggerd take a Dark Planetar for a walk while Sarevok tests his Detect Illusion to guard the rest of the party.

 

Time to assault the castle. A few buffs are done and the party targets an Il-Khan battle mage, Edwin using Remove Magic after a few moments and the mage dies within a round of this. The remaining enemies are easy victims and Blaggerd retreats to the Pocket Plane to review spells and buff for Gromnir.
