Yes. I noticed that with respect to the first report, regarding the behavior of unmodified saves. I just wanted to confirm that all of the tests were conducted under the same conditions.

Tireless Glorydd was unfatigued.
Noted. Did you check the save modifier of the spell in Near Infinity?
Thanks for suggesting this Alesia. I just checked: no save modifier, but the save is not vs spell (as the readme states), but vs rod/staff/wand. Glorydd's save vs rod/staff/wand is actually better than save vs spell: -1 (her save vs spell is 0).
I really don't know what to make of this. Does it mean that save vs r/s/w mechanics are even more twisted than save vs spells? It sure looks like it. GrimJim said that -1 sufficed for unmodified save vs spells.
Bizzarre.
I think we've established one thing: This isn't going to be resolved quickly.
I think it's time to start a new thread. You can do the honors, Blackraven, unless Grim Jim would prefer to do so.
I'll post a brief update here ASAP to get us back on track.

Aphril in the Planar Sphere- Part 1: The Hungry Hungry Halflings (or Should Have Ordered Takeout)
Aphril, Adara, and Aerie have begun their exploration of the Planar Sphere. The Hungry Hungry Halflings were pleased to hear of new arrivals, but Aphril, Adara and Aerie would not sate their appetite: unless their appetite was for death.
Now that Adara and Aphril have Ruby Ray and Aerie has Globe of Invulnerability, the Hungry Hungry Halflings had no hope of victory. The buffs for this fight were the party's standards with minor adjustment.
Aphril: Stoneskin, Protection from Cold, Protection from Fire, Protection from Lightning, Protection from Magic Energy, Protection from Evil, Chaotic Commands, Resist Fear, Spirit Armor, Spell Shield, Spell Deflection, Blur, Mirror Image, Globe of Invulnerability, Improved Invisibility, Globe of Invulnerability, Spell Immunity: Abjuration, Spell Immunity: Divination, Spell Immunity: Conjuration
Adara: Stoneskin, Protection from Cold, Protection from Fire, Protection from Lightning, Protection from Magic Energy, Protection from Evil, Chaotic Commands, Resist Fear, Spirit Armor, Spell Shield, Blur, Mirror Image, Improved Invisibility, Globe of Invulnerability, Spell Immunity: Abjuration, Spell Immunity: Divination, Spell Immunity: Conjuration
Aerie: Stoneskin, Protection from Cold, Protection from Fire, Protection from Lightning, Protection from Magic Energy, Protection from Evil, Resist Fear, Chaotic Commands, Spirit, Armor, Spell Shield, Blur, Mirror Image, Improved Invisibility, Globe of Invulnerability Spell Immunity: Abjuration, Spell Immunity: Divination
With Globe of Invulnerability added to Aerie's buff list, everyone has a magic number of at least 4. Kayardi, facing two sorcerers, each with 3 Ruby Rays, would have no chance to debuff a member of the team before he'd be debuffed. It's hopeless. He won't be dining on Aphril. He should have ordered takeout.
Since Kayaradi is harmless, the party felt no need to insta-kill him. Nonetheless, they gave it a shot, seeking proof of concept, regarding an execution method. They expected to be able to insta-kill mages with Harm->Laroch's (Vecna), particularly with Autopause: Weapon Unusable set. That isn't the case, as it turns out: Kayardi managed to erect his buffs and evade targeting. Bully for him. We'll need a new plan for Tolgerias.
Between the Harm, two Sunfires and a Holy Smite, the party did significant damage to the Hungry Hungry Halflings in the opening round. Most stayed on their feet though. The party chose to focus on Kayardi. Kayardi focused on Aphril. He targeted her with a Ruby Ray of Reversal. This would be one of two offensive actions he would manage to take in the fight. Both proved futile. Note that as Kayardi's Ruby Ray landed, Adara had one on the way.
Adara's Ruby Ray forced Kayardi into hiding. That, in turn, granted Aphril a free round to refresh her Spell Shield.
Kayardi has spent one L7 and he was still facing magic numbers of 5, 4 and 4 respectively. He's totally not eating tonight.
Actually, I take that back. There's something on the menu for Kayardi: Skull Traps and a heaping plateful of death. We just need to serve his friends...
And clear the table, by removing that GoI. Now, open wide Kayardi!
Taibela and Necre are next.

Everyone: I have made the thread about the save issues that Blackraven appeared to had as well as Grond0. This is the link: http://forum.bioware...g-2/?p=19439627
I used Ruzzel's saves for the test, which was convenient. I used the saved just before Ravager. I found out that Stealer, had a level 8 slot, level 7 slot and level 6 slot with no spells memorized! Doh! Remember, Ravager was gotten to near death - those few spells could have made the difference.
Quick Note on Aphril's Game
Aphril, Adara, and Aerie have proudly completed their participation in Athkatla's Senior Rides program, which gives less than able bodied senior citizens a chance to see the sun just before they die. Due to budgetary cuts, the program has been revised this year. Seniors are now beaten to near death to accelerate their matriculation through the program. Aphril is just happy to be doing good work. It feels good to help.
I'll post a full report on the quest tomorrow.

What contingency have the girls got in place for basic travel?
Nice escape there at Watcher's Keep, Grond0! With all those statues activating, do you think that was SCS perhaps?
I'm sure it was, yes. I couldn't remember what the behaviour was with just SCS and paid the price. I was quite happy to risk party deaths, even with a slight chance that Al could have been one of them, but the chunking was rather a blow.
Condolences on the loss of Bugsy, Grond0.

What contingency have the girls got in place for basic travel?
Since collecting their first L2 slots south of High Hedge, Aphril and Adara have, without fail, travelled everywhere invisible. As a consequence, they always see enemies before they are seen, and can always pre-buff.
Adara and Aphril do not have Contingency. Aerie has a Contingency Helpless- Otiluke's. It has never fired.

Aphril, Elven Sorcerer: The Planar Sphere- Part 2 (or Why Worry)
Some of you may recall that I was pretty worried heading into the Planar Sphere quest. Some, such as Blackraven wondered why. After viewing the screenshots from the Planar Sphere, more people may wonder: Aphril, Adara, and Aerie completed the quest without taking any injuries at all. I'll suggest though that there was a reason to worry, that my worry was justified: If you worry enough then there's a good chance you'll ultimately have nothing to worry about at all. Worry breeds caution. Caution breeds safety. Worry isn't all bad.
Picking up where we left off: Taibela and Necre. Opening double Sunfires quickly removed Necre from the action. Taibela survived.
Taibela's attempt to remove Aphril's Spell Shield was foiled by GoI.
Taibela was killed soon after, once her GoI was taken down by RRR.
Before traversing the PW:K trap en route to the golem head, Aerie took a VT hitpoint buff. As many know, VT occasionally grants way too many bonus hit points. Aerie, I believe, set the record here. Crazy high.
Anyhoo. Aerie tanked the golems, supported by Sunfires and MMMs from Aphril and Adara.
The biggest scare of the quest -and indeed of the run- occurred when the Elder Orb was found to be out of place. Autopause: See Enemy and quick Potion of Invisibility quaffs prevented tragedy.
The Lavok fight was predictably anti-climactic. As soon as his buffs fired, it was clear this would be a two round affair. Lavok had skipped Spell Shield and some Specific Protections, notably Protection from Magic Energy. Even with Spell Trap and GoI in place, that gave him a magic number of 2. And since Adara and Aphril both have Ruby Ray, he could be debuffed in one round. In theory Lacok could debuff a member of Aphril's team in three rounds with Ruby Ray->Spellstrike->Remove, but he's not scripted to do that and Aphril, Adara, and Aerie all had counters available to attacks on their Spell Shields. Lavok had no real chance here. Aphril, Adara, and Aerie opened with Ruby Ray x2 + True Sight. Lavok did get off a Time Stop, but he accomplished little. Debuffed, Lavok fell in the next two rounds to Skull Traps and a Holy Smites. Sadly, I don't have many screenshots here. I was playing in full screen mode for greater immersion (I love the atmosphere in this fight) and I can't take screenshots when running BG full screen. Here's the opening, at least. Note that Aerie took point, since Vecna would allow her to counter attacks on her Spell Shield quicker than anyone else.
The Tanar'ii was taken down by the Avariel Tank of Doom. Buffed, Aerie opened with a Lower Resistance.
She then retreated to cast ProMW before engaging.
She snuck in additional LRs in between Ages wallops, allowing Aphril and Adara to assist her. Here's the finish.
After watching Lavok fall harmlessly, I had no fear of Tolgerias. Nonetheless, I had Aerie attempt a Harm based execution, just to see if it was possible. I was kind of disappointed when it worked. I would have preferred to have fought Tolgerias.
The ice and fire critters were blasted in a Teleport Field. The Noble Efreeti still lives. He seemed like more trouble that he was worth, at the time.
Last hurdle. The Avariel Tank of Doom strikes again. ProMW foiled Clay Golem Cursed Wounds.
And so it was. Mission complete: No injuries. It may now be time to set sail for Spellhold. Question though: With Aerie at 12/12, Aphril at L14 and Adara at L14 will we get the L13 version of Imoen?
Best,
A.

Yeenter the Dwarven Fighter entering BG 2/ToB portion of Trilogy no-reload challenge...
Traveling with: Minsc, Jaheira, Mazzy, Yoshimo, Aerie
Permanently dead: Jan
Restriction: No resurrections this run. Any NPC that dies stays dead. Yeenter believes Hell is life on Faerun, and thus doesn't have the heart to bring fallen party members to this "Hell".
Yeenter made it out of Chateau Irenicus with the help of Imoen, Yoshimo, Minsc and Jaheira. Nothing in particular happened during the escape.
One of the first priorities was magical weapons so Yeenter would be ready to deal with the circus problem. He got a +2 axe in a graveyard, as well as a+1 hammer laying on a table (the house above Copper Coronet has this). The party then easily dealt with the circus problem.
Yeenter wanted to deal with the Umar Hills problem early, primarily to recruit Mazzy. But first, Minsc needs more AC and immunity to hold. So the party got protection from petrification spells for Aerie and Jan and the party then went to Trademeet to deal with some genies - the party heavily buffed and Jan did detect illusions during the fight - success! We got some magical ammo and headed for Umar Hills.
The Immesvale area was no problem for the party. The mimic managed to hold Yeenter, despite his saves being negative/zero - this was probably the same thing as Blackraven, where I didn't have automatic save not being -1. But the party saved Yeenter and we press on.
Umar Hills Temple area was pretty easy for the team, with only a single skeleton warrior in the undead spawns. However, the first death for Yeenter's NPCs occurred here. We were dealing with the shadow ambush and Jan got attacked - he got had good protections, stoneskin and mirror image - but Jan died.
He probably got strength drained, pretty easy for him to die to that since he's weak to begin with.
Originally, we were going to kick out Yoshimo for Mazzy, but now that there's a spot, we kept him. We left the shadow dragon alone, party is too low level/not good enough equipment to risk trying it - not to mention, even if victory good chance of at least one death - will wait for later, when more likely no one will die.
The party also freed Hendak and the other slaves at the Copper Coronet. This was no problem for the party. We have been in a few ambushes, but the party has weathered them well so far.
The last major encounter of the session was battling Mencar and pals. The party won this with direct attack, although Yoshimo's special snares were crucial, as they finished off Brennan Risling for us before Brennan could escape. Jaheira got smacked hard by Orcslicer, partly due to her so-so AC but also her sling was equipped. Then she got confused and could not run away. The party who wasn't confused all attacked Orcslicer and finished him before he could finish Jaheira. But 1/2 the party was confused - a party member might kill Jaheira.
Fortunately, Jaheira survived. We got some heal potions are Watcher's Keep and are considering our next move. Now that Yeenter has Stonefire, D'Arnise Keep seems like a good place to go next, although perhaps we will get the Lilacor for Minsc first.
EDIT:
Party Stats:
Minsc, level 9 ranger, 85 HP, 66 kills
Yeenter, level 9 fighter, 105 HP, 114 kills
Jaheira, level 8 fighter/level 10 druid, 70 HP, 17 kills
Mazzy, level 9 fighter, 88 HP, 6 kills
Yoshimo, level 11 bounty hunter, 78 HP, 17 kills
Aerie, level 8 cleric/level 9 mage, 34 HP, 4 kills
Yeeten the Dwarven Fighter - Update 2
Traveling with: Minsc, Mazzy, Jaheira, Yoshimo, Nalia
Permanently dead: Jan, Aerie
Well the team did more progress - in particular, they obtained the horn of Valhalla, as well as found out Reijek was the murderer in the Bridge District. We then headed to D'Arnise Keep. We got another ambush, and Aerie died - I had forgotten just how often the low HP characters of BG 2 actually die in my runs. I probably should have used a BG 1 trick and had her wear her armor during the travel. Oh well.
So Nalia will take Aeirie's place, as our token arcane caster. We won't have a cleric, but of course that will probably change if any one else dies. Fortunately the characters left have good HP, so as long as I don't let a save or die spell hit my people, they will probably be OK. Time to work on D'Arnise Keep...
Condolences, Corey.
The Aerie in my game world just had a bad nightmare. Coincidence?
Best,
A.
Btw. Am I the only one who thinks Nalia is better than Imoen? I've always found Nalia's thieving abilities to be perfectly adequate and Nalia's Signet Ring is awesomely good. I intend to party with Imoen on RP grounds, but if it were a question of power, I'd go with Nalia. Am I alone on this?

I like Nalia too. And I never had inconveniences with her thieving abilities. Imoen is better (or just more convenient) thief but Nalia is a mage powerhouse.
@Blackraven: sad to witness Glorydd misfortune... I had a hope the Deep Brother will be more kind to her...

Sorry of that as well. Maybe Invisibility will be more safe than mere armor, no? .
@Grond0: Bugsy will be missed... ![]()
@Serg. Can you comment on which version of Imoen we can expect to receive with Aphril and Adara at L14 and Aerie at 12/12?
Best,
A.

@Grond0: Bugsy will be missed...
Aerie did not know invisibility spell so that wasn't an option for that encounter. I could have used an invisibility potion, that would would have worked if I turned off the AI - I obviously should have done that. Woops. Nalia is a fine replacement though.
Nalia better than Imoen - as far as mage power, for sure. In many of my runs, though I prefer to have both so it doesn't matter much then. Though I think Edwin leaves them both in the dust. I had a high level Edwin before, and he had enough spells for two mages.
Nalia better than Imoen - as far as mage power, for sure.
I just love Nalia's signet ring. +2 to saves, +2 to AC, and 50% fire resistance from a ring slot is pretty great- especially since she can still wear protection items. It's not hard to get Nalia's saves into the negative range.
Best,
A.
Quick Note on Aphril's Game:
Aphril, Adara, and Aerie are nearly ready to set sail for Spellhold. They just need to acquire some arrows and scrolls for Imoen. They should set sail this evening.

Yeenter the Dwarven Fighter - Update 3
Traveling with: Minsc, Mazzy, Anomen, Nalia, Yoshimo
Permanently dead: Jan, Aerie, Jaheira
Yeenter and gang have got a lot done. D'Arnise was cleansed of Yuan-tis and Trolls, Trademeet issues have been solved, slavers in the moored ship have been defeated, and also 1st level (including statues) of Watcher's Keep has been cleared.
We had a disappointment doing Jaheira's quest - we defeated Galvery and gang, but the mage with the ring of wizardry disappeared through a wall (he was chaosed and insect plagued) and we coudldn't find him. Nalia will just have to make do.
In an effort to improve Jaheira's armor, the party did a few buffs and engaged Tarnor's gang in a straight-up battle - no deaths! However, to take advantage of the summons before they disappeared, the summons and party then charged the kobolds to the south. Unfortunately for Jaheira, she was held by a kobold shaman and quickly killed before we could do anything.
We replaced Jaheira with Anomen.
At this rate, Yeenter is going to be solo vs. Melissan, ![]()
Yeenter the dwarven fighter - FINAL Update!
Yeenter planned on Anomen soloing the shadow dragon with the AoP, sling of seeking, and a few buffs from the cubby hole. Problem? We forgot the wardstone! So we ran back to Athkatla and brought it back - but guess what! Apparently if you are ever in the dragon's presence without the wardstone, even if you didn't' even do anything, the wardstone doesn't do anything next time. So we were unbuffed. I thought we could take him. We get resist fear up and then try to get a few summons - the resist fear worked but right then the shadow dragon did a wing buffet. And guess who was the only character to resist the buffet? Yeenter! So the dragon does a breath attack, and apparently that's considered a melee attack as Yeenter stopped his ranged attacks and got into melee range. I checked his levels - he was level ONE! I tried to run away but level 1 Yeenter could not survive a single chomp of the shadow dragon, and he goes down.
I am in the mood for solo play and I think Picenon has the best chance of success for a solo trilogy, so going to restart him with his starting save.
