@Serg. Be careful in the Improved Fire Giant Temple. It seem like ATweaks has introduced something that lowers fire resistance. I'm not yet sure what it is, or how to prevent it.
I think they're traps, although that seems strange: Why would ATweaks introduce new traps? Because David's fell cats have been replaced by hell cats that don't lower fire resistance, and ATweaks felt the need to compensate? Whatever it is -whatever the justification- I'm not a fan. Be careful.
It's the salamander nobles. Be especially careful around Imix.

Btw. Taking Anadramatis's scales would have permitted Arkona to forge an overpowered armor set. I deliberately refrained from claiming them. I dislike items introduced by mods. I'm not sure what inspired David to include the scales and armor. It's out of character for SCS. The resistance types are particularly problematic given the tactical structure of the final fight.

There's four dragons. And that took some planning.
It didn't work out the way I intended.
I wanted to make a circular pattern with them, kind of like this:
But since I play at 640 x 480, there just wasn't enough room. I had to bunch them up on top of each other. I also missed my spot with Zirimanat'ryl and failed to anticipate the overlap between Carnifex and Ithy'nassendra. I'll get it next time.
It should be easier to do in EE, due to the zoom in zoom out function. Also, it would be much easier with Anadramatis's necklace, which grants immunity to wing buffet. Next time I may take the necklace for this encounter and this encounter alone. Killing four 600-700 hitpoint dragons -one of whom casts Heal twice, and all of whom run Stoneskins and ProMW- while getting wing buffeted all over the place is kind of a hassle.
Maybe Serg can make the pattern. He should reach the lair soon.

A.

It would be really cool if you could get the black dragons across from each other. You know: black, green, black, red. I think that would look better.
Playing at a higher res should help. You need more real estate

Bartholomew, 3rd BG2 update
Bart accepted comely Aerie's company even after he learned she wasn't a Bard but a Cleric/Mage (decided to Keeper her back to her original class after I found Rogue Rebalancing Bard song was clearly not working).
The duo made a bit of progress yesterday/today, so here's an update. After some shopping (Vecna was immediately secured for Aerie), they decided to confront the slavers at Hendak's behest. They reached the slaver compound via the sewers, where Hobgoblins, Kobolds, Slimes and an Otyugh formed no obstacle for backstabbing Bart. The companions solved a riddle and saw themselves rewarded with Lilarcor, a chatty, unwieldy blade that would end up in the stock of one of the city's merchants.
At the compound Aerie remained invisible (her role for the time being was to intervene only when her help was needed), while Bart and Kitty, took care of several slavers (including a priest) and their captain.
Kitthix, who was still around, and an Aerial Servant that Bart had recently learn to summon were decisive in a confrontation with a second contingent of slavers, one that included two wizards and two Yuan-Ti.
The next day they got into a fight with a boorish Dwarf who was also staying at the inn with his adventurer friends. Normally Bart would have let the Dwarf's insults slip, but he found himself strangely riled up by the warrior's disrespect for Aerie. Had he begun to take a special liking to the Avariel? Anyway hostilities broke out. An opening Holy Smite by Bart blinded and injured several of the adventurers.
At the Council of Six Building, Bart paid a hefty sum of 10,000 GP in order for him to be allowed to use certain enchanted items (which was considered 'spell casting') and for Aerie to cast her arcane spells in the city. The trickster, not at all pleased with this deal decided to try and pick some pockets to lower the cost somewhat. This only made things worse, as Bylanna found him out:
Mishaps like this had happened before, with Imoen on the Sword Coast, and they might happen again. One hostile enforcer followed the two outside. A Fiend might be gated in at a later stage to deal with him, although I'd prefer a cleaner way of getting rid of the guard.
Near the Council of Six Building the duo met a boy named Delon, who begged them to visit his town Imnesvale in the Umar Hills, to investigate mysterious killings and disappearances. With their recent run-in with the law, Bart and Aerie eagerly offered the child their help. They reached the hills in good order and didn't take long in discovering that shadowy creatures were the cause of the Imnesvale's troubles. They successfully defended a local Cowled Wizard against an unruly Golem (thanks to two crits by Aerie!),
They met more Shadows, Wraiths and Shadow Wolves there and, more interestingly, Faldorn who claimed to have changed her ways and offered to join Bart and Aerie.
Importantly he found that a small corridor that led to a square with trapped letters, was empty,
Bart, infuriated and still PfUndead, avenged the sweet Elf, defeating two Liches and a number of Greater Mummies and Skeleton Warriors. All this took some time as Glabrezus and Dark Planetars had to be evaded and the Liches had two or three castings of Stoneskin each.
In his fury Bart forgot that deep in his Wolfskin Bag he had kept a Rod of Resurrection. He only resurrected Aerie after the business with the Liches, Mummies and Skeleton Warriors, meaning that Aerie was now lagging behind a bit in XP.
The two rested in a Shadow Dragon's lair, and left the place invisible. They were no longer PfUndead when ran into the Shade Lord, the architect of the evil that had befallen the Umar Hills. Out of sight of the monster (and other creatures) they each cast a Sol's Searing Orb. Against undead these orbs deal 12d6 (or 9d6 if save a vs spell is made) of fire damage, which is a good damage type against the non-resistant Shade Lord. But what is even more important is that the orbs also inevitably blind undead for 12 rounds or 6 rounds if a save vs spell is made.
First Aerie and then Bart launched their orbs at the Shade Lord, and indeed it got blinded.
The two rescued a captured Halfling named Mazzy, and decided to accept her into the party for the time being after her moving tale of her capture and the death of her friends, including her mate, at the hands of the Shade Lord and its cohorts.

Congrats!
I've never met Grondor. Perhaps someone else can advise.
It always seem like you're fighting dragons, Wise. Everytime I read a BG2 post form you, you're killing a dragon- or dragons plural.
Best,
A.
It's no wonder that you haven't heard of Grondor. I got confused. Krondor is an NPC I am playing and Grothgar is the dragon that I was fighting.
Mix the two names up and you get Grondor.
It is a red dragon and VERY difficult to fight. It is from DSOA. Of course all of these enemies have a weakness. You just have to discover it. ![]()
I had just about given up on defeating a golem when I switched from one axe to a supposedly weaker one and it was easy. It only took me about an hour or so to discover its weakness.
Perhaps I should use the same axe against Grothgar. The supposedly good one (+5) wasn't doing any good at all.

Hello, hello *wave* ... after spending the last couple of weeks in a "Baldur's Gate 2" training camp (just the basics, no advanced dragon corpse draping) Dyara's back to business
.
Installation is the same as before: BG2EE, BP (Ascension+Improv. Fights only), UB (parts), Weimar's Item Upgrade, Rogue Rebalancing (parts), some NPC mods (Yoshimo, Sarevok, Xan, Mazzy), Romantic Encounters, White Queen, Assassinations, Back to Brynnlaw, Sellswords, BG2 tweaks (parts)
While this Dyara had finished BG1 (with SCS installed) solo I will (try to) play her through BG2+ToB (no SCS for now) with a party.
Dyara, elven Fighter/Mage/Thief (BG2 take 2)
Chateau Irenicus didn't proved to be a challenge... Ilyich&Friends became caught in a web and easily killed then...
... one or two hours later joined by Ulvaryl...
In Athkatla then the circus quest was done, Korgan and Anomen joined, the Copper Coronet was cleansed of Amalas and Lethinen and going through the sewers the slavers were driven out of their ship. In the search of the Book of Kaza the Graveyard (including all the tombs) was payed a visit and finally the book was found on a corpse on the roof of the Copper Coronet.
While traveling around the city Renfeld was saved and with some (very minor) problems the first parts of the harper quest was done...
Working for Renal Bloodscalp the party infiltrated Mae'Var's guild eventually killing the traitor...
After taking over Mae'var's position and doing the first quests for Aran Lindvail the party went to Watcher's Keep doing the first level (including the ritual) without any problems - (un)fortunately the party's level was so low that half of the statues were removed. Still one of the statues required +3 weapons and the party lacked in that department (only Minsc wielding Lilarcor and Dyara holding Foebane - while not proficient with the weapon - were able to hit and so Jaheira's fire elementals proved quite useful (but also scoring half of the kills).
On top of Watcher's Keep Anomen received the message of his sister's death and so the party returned to Athkatla immediately. Dyara then convinced Anomen to not revenge and the party - with Xan (F/M) replacing Minsc - went for De'Arnise Keep.
By now Dyara (Blade of Roses+3), Korgan (Stonefire+3), Xan (Moonblade+3) and Yoshimo (Usuno's Blade+4) were wielding +3 melee weapons while Anomen (Mace+1) and Jaheira (Staff of Curing) still were restricted to +1 weapons. On top of De'Arnise Keep the group became attacked by harpers (Reviane) but prevailed. Once the Keep was cleansed from TorGal...
... Dyara claimed it as her second stronghold and after taking the fourth head of the Flail of Ages out of the poison pool at Watcher's Keep level 2 the party returned to Athkatla just in time to pay Renal Bloodscalp.
Name: Game Kills XP/Game Kills/Strongest Kill Name/Deaths
Dyara: 266107/150/Statue/-
Jaheira: 16717/17/Reviane/-
Yoshimo: 28480/30/Mephit Portal/-

Xan: 8800/7/Spectral Troll/-
