Aliira is in Amn! She is very, very afraid though. Since she defeated Sarevok, she was kidnapped, drugged and tortured. Her clothes are a mess, her face is a mess and Sune does not approve. Neither does Aliira.

Spoiler

*She got exported to the wrong kit, the holy strategist, so I had to keeper proper abilities. I tested it with giving her xp in console and she seems to be leveling fine so I hope there's no problems*

Edit: Here's the weidu

Spoiler

I'm not using pnp monsters from atweaks since I couldn't in BG1 and since mephits are super annoying.

Best of luck to Aliira!

Good hunting!

Btw. Be sure to check out Grim Jim's fixes for SCS v30/Ascension.

Btw II. I respect you decision to refrain from installing the ATweaks creature improvement. I really like some of the things that the ATweaks creature do for the game world, but the balancing isn't quite right. FYI, Arkona used all the creature improvements. Adele is using just the mephits and the elementals. The elemental component is in danger of being removed if I can't find a way to preserve the vanilla/SCS elemental princes.

Condolences, realmuzzy.

The ATweaks identification component does seem silly. It's a shame to see Aliira go like that.

I hope you'll try another run!

@Blackraven: After finding out what is supposed to happen in SCS install from another SCS player (and your own tests), it definitely seems you died to a bug. I would say reload is justified; Bodhi is not supposed to hang around so long, that you revert back to your normal form, which is what happened to you.

I don't think anyone objects in your continuing Bart.

Thank you. I'm still happy though, she had a good run and she will be remembered.

Characters rarely pay in the game for having low stats so I can't complain too much. It's sort of just in a way.

Adele, Half-Elven Fighter/Druid: The Slaver Quest

Screen%20Shot%202015-08-27%20at%2012.19.

After restoring order to the Carnival, Adele observed a guild fight and then engaged another. ATweaks hamadryads proved helpful (too helpful) once again. This was their second to last fight in Adele's service (Corvhale and Bregg was the last).

Spoiler

The loot from the guild war fights -combined with the items Adele recovered from Kalah and the Chateau- left Adele well off. She Immediately invested in gear, choosing the Ring of Air Control, the Reflection Shield, a Potion of Firebreath, and a Potion of Freedom. She was ready to leave for the Slums.

At the Copper Coronet, Adele met a vacant thief named Hexxat, along with a well dressed mage named Nalia. I'm glad EE decided to change the NPC avatars so that they match the portraits. Nalia looks great here. Imoen, Minsc, Jaheira, and Yoshimo were on the mark, too.

Spoiler

Onto the Slaver Quest. The beast master was destroyed with the assistance of a charmed winter wolf, a pair of summoned bears, and a pair of vanilla (non-ATweaks) nymphs. Note Well: To recover the vanilla/SCS nymphs, I had to uninstall PnP Fey in addition to the Revised Call Woodland Being component.

Spoiler

Adele started this fight with a scimitar in her off-hand, since that suits her style, but she quickly realized that the Reflex was a better choice

Spoiler

ATweaks Divine Wrath helped with the finish. I'm content with the balancing of Divine Wrath. Vampiric Touch is arguably more powerful, but Divine Wrath has some unique uses. In particular, its great for escaping box-ins.

Spoiler

I was a little worried that Hendak might lose his battle with Lethinam once Lethinam landed a critical, but Hendak struck back with a critical of his own. Part 1 complete.

Spoiler

Having just leveled up, Adele entered the sewers with a new addition to her tactical tool kit: fire elementals.

Fire elementals are a little silly. Any early BG2 summon that is immune to non-magical weapons is a problem. My inclination is to use the fire elementals, but to fight along side them rather than let them do all the work. I was a little worried that ATweaks would make fire elementals even sillier than they are in vanilla- especially after my experience with the hamadryads. So far, they've been fine, however: I'm enjoying them and haven't found them over-powered (yet).

They're basically uncontrollable, which is good, IMO. I prefer autonomous summons- even if I would like to give instructions from time to time.

Spoiler

The otyugh and the jellies were able to hurt the fire elemental. As an FYI, the ATweaks fire elemental are immune to healing spells. Adele came to the rescue here.

Spoiler

After clearing the rest of the sewers and resting to replenish her spells, Adele was ready to take on Haegan.

The buffs were Iron Skins, Chaotic Commands, Armor of Faith, Protection from Fire, Resist Fire/Cold, RoAC II.

Adele waited for the cleric to initiate a divination casts. She then broke invisibility by casting Conjure Fire Elemental. With the cleric's aura clouded -and with Adele wielding the Reflex while running Iron Skins- there was no way Adele could be interrupted.

Screen%20Shot%202015-08-27%20at%2010.29.

Adele's next task was to destroy the cleric. With him out of the action, the elementals would be invulnerable.

Spoiler

The slavers were wise enough to attack Adele instead of the invulnerable elementals. A box in forced Adele to use Divine Wrath.

Screen%20Shot%202015-08-27%20at%2010.31.

The slavers were finished soon after. All except Haegan, that is: he had left the building as soon as the fire elementals were summoned.

Fortunately, it was easy enough to lure him back in. And once he met the elementals, he died quickly- although he did find time to murder a nymph first.

Screen%20Shot%202015-08-27%20at%2010.36.

Just the trolls now.

Spoiler

The kiddies were free, the slavers were dead, the rewards were rewarding. It was a good quest. The kind Adele likes.

Adele is currently in the Temple District chatting with Roger. She'll resume adventuring later today.

Best,

A.

Adele, Half-Elven Fighter/Druid: The Tanner Murders

Screen%20Shot%202015-08-27%20at%201.26.4

After purchasing the Boots of Grounding and filling out her defensive potion collection, Adele paid a visit to the Bridge District. There she defeated the muggers, solved the the Tanner murders, and recovered the anhkeg shell. The battles went smoothly- although an old friend did put a kink in some of Adele's plans.

Against the muggers, Adele opened with RoAC II->Conjure Fire Elemental.

Spoiler

That's basically game over, of course, but since Adele planned to rest before tackling Reijek's basement, she decided to toss a few extra spells for style points.

A nymph to the north, a fire elemental to the south, Call Lightnings all around. That's what a druidic battle should look like. Fun.

Screen%20Shot%202015-08-27%20at%201.29.4

Adele was just about to finish the fight when she was rudely interrupted.

Spoiler

The mugger wouldn't attack during the Neera cut scene, but his hold effect did wear off, as did Adele's recently cast DUHM. This was annoying. I like Neira. And I like the EE NPCs that I've tried so far. You just have to accept the fact that they'll alway feel slightly out of place. Seamless, no. Tolerable, yes. I've yet to try Hexxat and I probably never will.

Spoiler

Most of my characters save the Reijek's basement for later, but Adele seemed more than capable of handling it. The buffs here were Iron Skins, Chaotic Commands, Protection from Fire, Resist Fire/Cold, Armor of Faith, Strength of One, True Sight, RoAC II, DUHM. The fire elemental handled the ghasts while Adele took down the rune assassin.

Spoiler

Kudos to the rune assassin for cutting through Adele's Iron Skins and forcing a potion quaff. I'm not certain, but the ATweaks fire elementals seem to have poorer THAC0s than their vanilla equivalents. They get the job done nonetheless. I still haven't noticed any balancing issue with them.

Screen%20Shot%202015-08-27%20at%201.41.5

Adele's last task in the Bridge District was to collect the ankheg shell. A Strength of One cast was suppose to let Adele cart the shell to the Docks, but guess who messed that up?

Spoiler

Sigh. Nonetheless, I do intend to check out Neera's Wild Forest. It sounds like a theme park attraction, doesn't it?

I'm not certain what will be next, but I'm guessing Suna Seni.

Best.

A.

Noooo RealMuzzy, way too soon :( I feel your pain...

Alesia, nice start. Keep it up.

Bartholomew, 7th & (this time for real:) final BG2 update

Sad news  :(
Bart, Aerie, Mazzy, Jan, and Imoen survived the remainder of Spellhold, relying on summons to deal with Golems and Minoraurs and on traps to survive the Trolls. For some reason I couldn't rest or save until the party was back in the asylum. I constantly got the 'There are enemies nearby' message. They entered Irenicus' room where they got their gear back, and then went and fought a fantastic battle against Irenicus. Honestly the best I've ever done there. Unfortunately due to Bart's death afterwards I can't be bothered with typing an extensive battle report.
Everyone was buffed to the max, and long enough to be safe for the e. Irenicus was initially untouchable due to his high level protections, so the companions focused on the clones, and one by one the clones fell, except faux Aerie (who lasted till the end). After a few turns Irenicus perma-killed Mazzy with heavy magic damage from Comet and ADHW cast in Time Stop. The others were never in danger though. Jan, Imoen, and Bart took no damage; Aerie just a little. When Irenicus became vulnerable to Pierce Magic / Breach / Staff of the Magi, the friends forced him to surrender. (Bart had switched to his Flails.)

There was however one problem. Aerie had cast an Earthquake at some point, antagonizing a Planetar that had been gated in either by Wanev/Dradeel or by Bart's Deva (without me knowing it). When the dust of the battle had settled, the Planetar was still hostile, and it vorpaled Imoen while the companions were trying to flee from it. The companions closed the door behind them and dealt with the Murderers in the corridors.
Bart and co waited a few in-game hours but for some reason the Planetar was never unsummoned. (Perhaps this was a feature of the P&P Celestials mod. If so, not a feature I like.)
After the epic battle I wasn't as focused, and besides I had to leave for work. I couldn't save, even though the Planetar was not within visual range of the companions. Bart was wearing the boots of speed and tried to enter the room to get Mazzy's and Imoen's loot, hoping to be able to leave, rest and save. Well, Bart got vorpaled as well by the Planetar who was waiting for him by the door.

Should have used Jan or Aerie with PfMW or gone downstair and load the auto-save, but as I said, I was running out of time and became a bit reckless because of that.
I could complain about how ridiculous I think it is that a Planetar stays around for ages, but it was my choice to try the P&P Celestials mod, so too bad for me. It's only a game, but I'm sad. This has been one of my funnest playthroughs.

Below a couple of screenshots:

Spoiler
If I'm to do a new playthrough, it will be a slower one (because of girlfriend and traveling to Europe next month), and a simpler one (probably EE with just SCS and Rogue Rebalancing).

Btw. Best of luck setting up an instal that you're happy with.

As an FYI, here's my current Weidu log. I'm generally happy with this, even if I am concerned about some of the ATweaks elemental features (overpowered Aerial Servant summons, possibly underpowered elemental princes)

I don't know what to say Blackraven - except to re-iterate, a successful no-reload requires knowing your install forwards and backwards, and so far, the installs you have been choosing, haven't been real helpful to your success or your sanity. I agree with Serg's assessment, your problems isn't your skill.

I hope the new simpler, install you intend does the job for you.

Adele, Half-Elven Fighter/Druid: Suna Seni

Screen%20Shot%202015-08-27%20at%202.59.2

Good news: Suna Seni happened. I was hoping it would.

After taking down Officer Dirth, Adele was faced with a difficult choice: 1) sell Dirth's full plate to finance the forging of the more stylish anhkeg plate, or 2) go practical and use the full plate. Adele rightly chose 3) none of the above: mug Suna Seni, sell Arbane, and keep both armor sets. That worked out nicely. And Adele is now clad in her oh-so stylish anhkeg plate. She almost matches her portrait photo again. All she needs is two magical scimitars and an ioun stone.

Spoiler

You can probably guess where Adele is headed next, huh?

Anyhoo. Here's the Suna Seni fight.

A Potion of Firebreath will win the fight for very nearly any class. Adele chose to forgo the potion, however, in favor of a druidic approach.

Adele arrived buffed with her long duration buffs: Iron Skins, Chaotic Commands, and Protection from Lightning. She opened with RoAC II. The potion quaffing here is seriously toned down compared to Arkona's v15 install, but Suna did quaff a Potion of Magic Shielding.

Spoiler

Adele's RoAC II was quickly dispelled. That was a problem, since Adele needed to isolate herself to get off Conjure Fire Elemental. Happily, a Potion of Invisibility did the trick. A summon battle ensued: Adele's fire elemental and nymphs versus the mage's spiders and monsters. Adele's summons won.

Spoiler

Credit to the mage for forcing a Healing Touch cast with a Magic Missile Minor Sequencer, but Doom->Hold Person (nymph) ultimately finished her.

Spoiler

After a healing session lead by the nymphs, Adele and her team were ready to engage the remaining foes.

Spoiler

The plan was for Adele to engage Suna Seni, in order to keep Arbane away from the fire elemental. Credit to the well scripted nymphs for charming Eldarin. That was their idea. I wouldn't have thought of that.

Spoiler

Suna falls. Time to turn on Eldarin.

Spoiler

Last slaver.

Spoiler

Ok. Time to collect that Ioun Stone.

Best,

A.

Thanks everyone for their kind and instructive words.

Alesia, I'll be going with a similar install, except fixpack. Don't have that in BG1EE and so for consistency's sake I won't use it in BG2EE either. I might install P&P Free Action though. Do you have a link to JimFix?

Corey, Serg, while I don't consider myself that skillful (Bart could have easily died to the acid trap in Mekrath's lair for example), I agree that simplicity would be a good thing.

At RealMuzzy, I can see myself do a Rogue Rebalanced Bard (kitless or Skald) or a crew of four Halflings (one of each kit). Can you believe that? Anyway thankd for your kind words, and I hope you too find inspiration for a new attempt.

Free Action Protects Against Stun is a good call. Without it, Stun is overpowered.

That's the primary reason why I used the Fixpack in an EE setup.

Adele, Half-Elven Fighter/Druid: Pai Na

Screen%20Shot%202015-08-27%20at%204.37.2

After forging her anhkeg plate, Adele heard rumors of an ioun stone evil druid in the tombs beneath the Graveyard District. Seeking to complete her ensemble restore balance, Adele went to investigate.

Adele was nearly ready to take on her evil counterpart. All she needed was a second L6. Happily, killing spiders alongside her fire elemental furnished the needed experience.

Spoiler

Perfect timing, huh?

Spoiler

So: why did Adele need two L6s? Pai Na isn't dangerous, really, but two things can go wrong in this encounter: 1) you can get tagged with insects 2) you can get boxed in by spiders. What Adele needed to do was thin the spiders quickly while also disrupting Pai Na. Why not kill two birds with one stone? Or one seed? That's where that second L6 comes in.

The buffs were Iron Skins, Chaotic Commands, Protection from Fire, Resist Fire/Cold, Armor of Faith, Strength of One, DUHM, RoAC II.

Pai Na's spiders charged. Her buffs fired soon after.

Screen%20Shot%202015-08-27%20at%204.28.3

Using a fire seed, Adele took out the eastern batch of spiders and disrupted Pai Na's opening spell.

Screen%20Shot%202015-08-27%20at%204.28.3

One more seed.

Spoiler

Time to bring a fire elemental into play

Last fire seed, last batch of spiders.

Spoiler

Nymph for disabler support.

Spoiler

Pai Na falls.

Adele is looking like herself again. All she needs is some magical scimitars.

Understood. I'm glad it worked out for you!

Insect Plague didn't meet my needs.

Insect Plague is slow: it has a casting time of one round, and it also has a slow traveling projectile. Additionally, in SCS, Insect Plague allows a save to avoid casting failure

Pre-cast Fire Seeds, in contrast, can be tossed instantly and leave the aura clear to cast another spell. They allowed Adele to disrupt Pai'Na and kill the spiders while also leaving her free to cast Conjure Fire Elemental. Fire Seeds were the right tool: they allowed Adele to achieve three tactical objectives within one round.

Yes. Casting times are critical- especially when solo.

In a group of four, having the druid cast Insect Plague would make a lot more sense.

In this battle, the idea was to disrupt Pai'Na so that she would not have a chance to disrupt Adele's Conjure Fire Elemental cast. We needed to be quick on the draw.

That doesn't sound like an entirely safe strategy to me.  The fire seeds won't necessarily disrupt a spell - nor would one be at all guaranteed to even kill all the spiders in the area of effect (leading to the possibility of movement being blocked at least briefly).  If you wanted to be safer then going in invisible and producing summons out of sight of Pai'Na would be an option.  Insect plague could then be cast at your summons before you showed yourself - negating both the long casting time and slow projectile and leaving your aura clear for another spell of your choice at Pai'Na.
