Basically he is a straight fighter dualed at level 9 to a straight mage. In my multi-player no-reload I had a companion built similar and they were a lot of fun, though lost to a computer failure (had to replace laptop).
This is BG 2 only no-reload, not my usual trilogy. I intend to do all the fights I can. And in particular going to try to master the Illithid City. I fully expect to fail this no-reload, a full party needs the city's experience, but haven't been able to beat it no-reload it. If I fail will continue run, hopefully learning all I can with the Illithids.
Wasn't intending a no-reload but made it this far without needing a reload (except a bug which will describe later), so decided to enter him.
Rest of the party status. Here is their main stats and tanking order:
Jaheira - level 9 fighter/level 12 druid -7 AC, 79 HP, Primary Weapon: Blackblood Club
Minsc - level 10 ranger -7 AC, 97 HP, Primary Weapon: Flail of Ages
Yoshimo (to be replaced with Imoen later) - level 13 bounty hunter 0 AC, 82 HP Primary Weapon: Tuigan Bow/Shortsword of backstabbing
Viconia - level 10 cleric, -7 AC, 51 HP, Primary Weapon: +2 sling/+5 warhammer
Aerie -level 9 cleric/level 10 mage -1 AC, 37 HP Primary Weapon: "excellent" sling/+2 mace
Things accomplished:
* Defeated Mencar Pebblecrusher's gang: managed to charm BOTH Orcslicer AND Mencar. Needless to say their fellow thief and mages got crushed. Was easy pickings after that.
* Circus problem dealt with.
* Freed Viconia. Always suprised on how long it takes to burn the 3 fanatics down, but all they could was hurt Jaheira enough she had to use a single extra healing potion.
* Freed Hendak and the slaves. With the battle with the beastlord I had the party at the entrance to the animal cells and had Jaheira open with Insect Plague. This was enough to tip the battle in our favor, not that we didn't take any damage.
* Did the quest to obtain the Lilacor +3 two-hand sword. Don't usually do this quite so early, but since I knew I wasn't going to use Nalia since I was going to be the party's ultimate mage, I need a +3 weapon to kill the iron golem, hence did this quest.
* Accepted Nalia's quest to free her keep of invaders. We didn't let her in the group like I usually do, since next level was going to dual and be the party's mage (was a level 8 fighter at this point) and therefore didn't need her. Fought everything except the umber hulks, I diverted them with the stew. The battle with Torgal lasted a LONG time. However, with protection evil/bless/chant the party tanked him good enough to win without any deaths.
* Cleared the moored ship of slavers and freed the children. Was pretty easy. At one point 1/2 the party was held, but then my clerics responded by holding 2/3 of the enemies. Was smooth sailing after that.
* Tried to find Montaron for Xzar. Turned out the polymorphed bird we found was an assassin. The battle at Prebek's house went pretty smooth. Cast death ward/chaotic commands on Hunter just in case.
* Did the thieve's guild quest. The tasks were mostly minor, the only real one was the battle vs. Rayic Gethras. I had put death ward on Hunter before going up. Good thing as looked like Rayic cast finger of death on him. Fortunately a flame arrow from Hunter was enough to speed up Rayic's demise before he could do too much damage.
* Poor Maevar and his buddies got clobbered by Jaheira's Fire Elemental and Insect Plague. We could win this battle at our leisure.
* Battle with Dao Djinns at Trademeet: I knew one of the Djinns likes to throw around flesh to stone. So put protection from petrification on Hunter and bought some stone to flesh scrolls. Jaheira was turned to stone but the Djinns were defeated. We restored Jaheira, had her join the group, healed her, and left the tent. But bug occured and the game forgot she was in the group (she was no where in fact, not even in the tent). So had to reload.
