Hey Vaclavc,
Man I'm looking forward to reading your adventures. I'm a big assassin fan so good luck to you. I had 2 questions for you: Where did you get your character portrait? It's fantastic! 2nd, how do you pronounce your character's name? I totally dig the name; just want to make sure I say it right...lol. Is it...Low - koo - rin?
Thanks a lot. Yes, assassins have high coolness factor and this is the first time I actually managed to pull a thief character successfully through BGI no reload. I hope he will be as effective in SoA as he was in the first part.
Your pronounciation of the name is almost right

Hmmm, I might have to start a no-reload challenge. When I can work out what to play.
May I suggest a Bard? Extremely funny and versatile class (any kit) to play.
Brief update on adventures of elven assassin Lokuryn:
Lokuryn and Jaheira solved Circus Tent quest. In Copper Coronet, Lokuryn killed Almanas in arena fight.
In Bridge district, Lokuryn and Jaheira solved Tanner quest, in Government district, they helped Jan Janssen and Viconia DeVir.
They were also involved in some Harper business – they saved Renfeld, cleared Prebek’s house and caused death of Xzar.
Lokuryn: L11 Assassin 61HPJaheira: L9/12 Fighter/Druid 82HP
As you can see, I am starting up slowly, completing easy quests first.

Some mods are still in the process of being updated, so you might want to check whether you have the latest versions before installing them.

Imoen is a Swashmage as well in this game (a bit inconsistent with my BG1 run, but what the heck), so I'll need my thieving abilities a little longer than usual. However, I intend to dual into mage as soon as I get Yoshimo to handle traps.

Unfortunately, Lokuryn died during rather simple fight with rune assassins. Three critical hits in rapid succession were too much for him.
Ah well, back to the drawing board...

Hey bud, how did you post your screenshot at that size? I'm going to start a no-reload here soon myself and I can't seem to post my screenshots where they're big and legible.

Anyway, as said, Irenicus' dungeon went well enough in the beginning. Yoshimo backstabbed duergar to great effect:

"Argh, my spleen!"
Well, not always that great of an effect:

"Argh, my pinky toe!"
We also experienced a truly ignominious defeat at the hands of Mephits, of all things.

"Jaheira did not survive, but at least she didn't have to see Khalid's mangled corpse."
Being able to rest only once in the dungeon and having no healing spells apart from Minsc's, we had no choice but to sneak out of the dungeon with Hador's newlyfound familiar's mass invisibility. That was pretty shameful. No Sword of Chaos for us, no Ring of Protection +1, no Girdle of Bluntness. Fortunately, we didn't have a bard with us yet, so we could all agree that nobody ever had to know about this.
Outside, however, we sold our loot and got just enough money to buy some potions of Master Thievery and a potion of Genius, with the former of which Yoshimo cleaned out the promenade spell shop. Hador gulped the latter, temporarily kicked Minsc and Yoshi out of the party, and regained his Swashbuckler abilities by studying spells. Yoshi also swiped the Ring of Regeneration from Ribald - he was still thieving masterfully. so why not.
A sad and cheesy start, but now we can get to the real meat of the game.

I'm going to write it like a journal from the perspective of the character, should make it more interesting.
The diary of Delinphius; Day 1.
Imoen is gone. Gone to gods only knows where at the mercy of that mage. Irenicus was his name. Not only that but Gaelan Bayle has the gall to demand that I pay 20'000 sovereigns before I even get the chance to rescue Imoen. At first the sum seemed utterly absurd, now as I write this the absurdity of cost passes. We already have 5'000 gold it shouldn't be hard to gather the rest. The circus in the centre of the city, we heard had ceased to operate. I lead the party to the circus though the guard at the door had no idea as to what happened. I told him that we would sort out the disturbance. We headed inside and encountered a genie guarding a bridge. The thing asked a riddle, which I could not comprehend. It asked another that was simple enough. The genie let us pass unharmed, through a cloth canopy. A giant ogre stood before us although it spoke with the voice of a female and it was capable of speaking words that consisted of multiple syllables. Apparently the ogre form was an illusion which I believed. Ogres are stupid creatures, what stood before us however was not. It told us that the key was a sword held by a peasant, that was not a peasant. Truth be told it turned out that this 'peasant' was actually a werewolf. We killed the creature and released Aerie -the ogre now revealed to be an elf-. She informed us that the building we were in was an illusion crafted by someone known as Kalah. We found Kalah and slew him breaking his illusion. As promised we rescued Qualye for Aerie. In turn she offered to join us which I gladly accepted. We need all the help we can get. After a long day we headed towards in a inn for a long overdue sleep. Only time will tell what tomorrow brings.
Imoen I swear I will find you.
End Day 1.
I have actually progressed further freeing hendak and the slaves but I shall update that later.
The party at the present moment; Delinphius, Anmoen, Aerie (Dead-as in we can revive her), Nalia, Jaheria and Minsc.

Anyway Jug, Jaheira, Imoen, Minsc and, eventually, Yoshimo tackled the dungeon. As I don't normally have a party there I decided I should take on all comers and complete it without resting. That was nearly costly as the battlemage that fights the vampire there hit Jug with a repeating lightning bolt. Only a potion between strikes saved him.

To add insult to injury the vampire turned gaseous and escaped with her last few HPs intact, so not even any XP there.
Largely thanks to the battle mage the party left the dungeon in a bit of a sorry state. Jug used his 19 strength to carry the dead bodies of Minsc and Yoshimo, while Imoen was almost dead on her feet. Here are Jug's stats on exit.
I've fought the aTweaks mephits a few times now and had no problems with them this time. I do have sympathy with Gorthaur X though - that stun effect came within a few HPs of ending a solo a couple of runs ago.
Since the dungeon there hasn't been much of interest. I belatedly remembered I was supposed to be showing the opposition no mercy in this run and so indulged the party by allowing Yoshimo free rein in a stealing spree - everyone is now well-equipped! They have cleared the graveyard - picking up a ioun stone from Pai'Na in the process and had the first 2 ambushes (but not yet returned Renfeld - he will be next up). There was one nasty moment against the mad cleric at the docks - he hit Jaheira with 3 successive criticals and made her run for her life. Since then the party has been expanded to 6 - Minsc, Jaheira, Yoshimo, Nalia and Jan - though I might change things a bit to incorporate NPCs used in Jug's BG1 run.

I have to admit through all the times I have played the game I have never had it so easy in chapter 2. Minsc, Anomen and Delinphius are killing the enemy faster then a slayer hyped up on steroids and throwing in Minsc's beserk abilty and Delinphius's Draw from holy might abilty serve to make a cakewalk. When it comes time to fight the vampires they aren't going to know what hit them. Delinphius' negative 5 AC doesn't hurt either.
Anyway onto the write up of the events of days 2 - 4.
Day's 2 - 4
Truth be told though I am saddened at Aeries sudden death at the hands of that damn bear, this is no time for sadness. We must press onwards. We must find Imoen, and that evil mage Irenicus. I do suspect that Irenicus is using Imoen to lead us into a trap but I cannot and will not leave her in the hands of that monster. I cannot abandon Imoen. The sum of money required is still a while of though the party is slowly gearing up in better gear. Though it pains me to say so we cannot be foolish and rush after Imoen we need to be prepared.
The last few days have been eventful. We shut a slaving ring in the sewers which brought me satisfaction. Nalia reminded me again of my promise to save D'Arnise hold. We head there now, t hough not before a rest and a stop at the shop to purchase supplies. We were ambushed by a group of brigands. At first they had the advantage having surprised us, though a gnome I had met and allowed into the party by the name of Jen Jansen casted haste on the party and we quickly dispatched the enemy. Onwards we head towards D'Arnise keep.
End Day's 2 - 4
The party as of now consists of; Delinphius, Minsc, Anomen, Jaheria, Nalia and Jan Jansen. At the present moment I plan to replace Jaheria with Mazzy and Nalia with Imoen -after we get to spellhold.-
Someone please educate me; how do I take screenies?

I wish thee luck Grond0. (That's a NWN portrait you're using, correct?)
Press the Print Screen key at any point. That will put a screen shot into the ScrnShot sub-folder of your game directory (this will automatically be created if it's not already there). You can then use Photobucket, Imageshack etc to upload to internet and link from there to posts if you want to do that. To check the coding for this you can quote someone's post and then press the BBcode key to see the text instead of the picture itself.Someone please educate me; how do I take screenies?

Delinphius met a disastrous end. The party buffed in preparation for the fight with the Yuan-Ti mage in D'Arnise hold but it was in vain. The party could hardly damage the trolls and the died one by one. Delinphius managed to barely escape but without the money to revive his party let alone replace all the lost equipment it was only delaying his death. At the moment I shall have to withdraw from the challenge, as the only way Delinphius can continue is to reload.

Band made it through Limited Wish Adventure (Valygar can now use Boomerang Dagger along with a shield) and upon return to Athkatla were intercepted by messenger from Teos. As it becomes clear soon enough it was an ambush from anti-magic fanatics. Battle in tight quarters is fun with Teleport Field:

After that we freed Haer'Dalis from the wizard Mekrath and helped Raelis Shae in her little drama. All went quite smooth except some nervous moment with Master of Thralls. Valygar led Fire Elemental and Aerial Servant under stealth but Master of Thralls spotted him and paralized both Valygar and Aerial Servant. Then he began to spam with Vampiric Touch and Death Gaze at a machine-gun speed hurting Valygar badly. We can't cast Remove Paralysis on Valygar but can cast it on Aerial Servant who once freed smashed MoT with furious critical (*dust to dust, dirt to dirt...*). Warden fell soon after:

Now we think about some lich hunt and then Windspear Hills awaits.
Current Band Of Six state:
BlackStrider - lead guitar, vocals (growling) - Cleric 12 / Illusionist 12, 162 kills, Mae'Var
Jaheira - bass guitar (*boss* temper) - Fighter 11 / Druid 13, 238 kills, Shade Lord
Nalia - keyboards - Mage 14, 110 kills, Mogadish
Viconia - lead (clean/screaming) vocals - Cleric 14, 20 kills, Tanova
Valygar - quitar, kantele - Stalker 12, 113 kills, Valeria
Mazzy - drums, percussion - Fighter (wanna be paladin) 13, 196 kills, Unseeing Eye
to be continued...

The De'Arnise hold has a lot to answer for - Jug has also come a cropper there. After clearing everything else the party successfully split up Torgal, giant trolls and umber hulk elder from the yuan-ti mages and finished the former group off without much trouble. However, in trying to clean up the mages Jug appeared to be stoned. He was right at the back and the mages ignored the fighters beating them up and the casters flinging spells at them, so it was pretty mean targeting. I know there were lots of ways I could have finished the encounter safely, but:Delinphius wrote...

- endless buffing seems tedious
- leaving the main character out of the action entirely seems cowardly
- resting to regain spells (such as insect plague) effectively in the middle of combat seems poor RP
I don't think I have the patience anyway to take a party through the game, so will probably try again with a solo character.

We saved the circus from Kalah, and recruited Aerie in the process. She's not going to stick around, but while she's here, she saved us a few hundred gold by resurrecting Jaheira. Afterwards, we were feeling pretty good about ourselves, and decided to take on Mencar Pebblecrusher and his merry men immediately. This was in part because we woke up at 11 pm, and wanted some excuse to expend our abilities and rest until morning.
Brennan Risling was the first to die. Good for us, since that guy often flees the scene entirely after taking a bit of damage. He must be playing a no-reload game, too.

Hador cast Greater Malisin, Emotion, and Chaos. Only the wizard was affected, but that was well enough. He was the most dangerous enemy - even his familiar put Minsc down with an Emotion of his own.

Finally, only the dwarf himself remained. Yoshimo scratched his back a little, even though he never scratched Yoshi's. Because that's Yoshimo: he's just a giver.

Then it was just a matter of time before Mencar fell.

"A pretty long time, though, I'll grant him that."
I also ran into an odd bug. After heading into the slums, I noticed that Hador's AC was three points lower than it should be - and, upon further investigation, his thac0 and damage were illegally good, as well. For some reason, he'd regained his Swashbuckler abilities twice in the dual-classing process. I managed to figure out which affects were responsible and removed them with Shadowkeeper, and they haven't made much of a difference in the game, as Hador's only physical confrontations have been with Brennan, Mencar, and Amalas at the Coronet. However, he had a slight advantage in those fights regardless, so I'm mentioning it here in the interest of honesty.
I also recruited Korgan, and the next thing will be to drop Minsc & Aerie for Viconia. Yoshimo probably won't be needed either, given Hador's thieving skills.
