BlackStrider, am I completely imagining things, or is your game using the original BG1 character models? At least, they look different to me somehow. If so, which mod does that?

Yep, this is one more awesome mod from Erephine (author of 1PP) - Infinity Animations (restored BG1 character animations component in particular). For me it's a must have no doubts as they much better than BG2 ones. You can find it here:

I found it very diffcult to accurately portray their stats/classes in 2nd edition rules so I did the best that I could. Hopefully everybody likes how I depicted them. As far as the story goes, I'm going to bascially make this up as I go...
-All their stats are naturally rolled reflecting what I thought they should be
-Core Rules
-Using G3 Fixpack and Tweak Pack (Using the most common components)
-Using additional equipment and the dual wielding component of the rogue rebalancing mod (So Artemis could have 3 pips in dual wielding)
-Will give Artemis a bag of holding
PROLOGUE
The 2 partners in crime had just left the town of Memnon that morning. It was night so they setup camp and were finally glad to get some much needed rest after the events that unfolded barely a day ago. Artemis looked over at his bald companion, who returned his look with a wink, and just shook his head as he the thought back to all the trouble that damn drow has put him through. "Ahhh, at least I can get some sleep," He thought. As he and Jarlaxle drifted off, both caught glimpses of shadowy figures coming towards them yet they couldn't awaken. They just got sleepier and sleepier. Was this a dream...
BGII THE BEGINNING
Artemis wakes up at the sound of some girl opening up his cage. He had no idea where he was and how he got there. Yet there's this girl in front of him going on and on about her head hurting and someone "doing" things to us. He didn't recognize her at al yet she new his name! "Well the hell is happening!", he thought. At this point he didn't have any choice but to trust this bossy little girl. She freed him after all. He had a massive headache and couldn't seem to remember anything. All he thought was "Jarlaxle, what did you get us into this time?"

Tough breaks there, Grond0 and Delinphius. As for you Grond0, perhaps it time to rename BG 2 for you to the "Grond0-take-down-game". Have you even ever made it to Suldanessar?
For what it is worth, I respect the approach you've been taking to the game Grond0.
It's my understanding that Grond0 has never played BGII with reloads. This means there is a lot of content he hasn't seen. Further, he is using mods that make the game much more difficult and often opts for classes that aren't necessarily the most powerful (like the Wizard Slayer here).
The BGII deaths aren't a commentary on Grond0's abilities to my mind: they're easily understood in terms of the gaming context. Grond0 might suggest that his concentration could be a little more consistent. I'm not in a position to comment on that though- that's something only he would know. Regardless, Grond0's BG1 play is excellent.
Best of luck in your next run Grond0!

Finally free, Artemis freed his drow companion and started looking around to get a better sense of their surroundings. The young girl that freed them was also no where to be seen. They found a room to the north that had some armor and weapons along with some kind of a golem that kept warning them to go back to their cells. Otherwise it just stood there. Very odd indeed. It pained Artemis that his prized Charon's Claw and especially his jeweled dagger had been stolen from him. Payback to the person responsible couldn't come quick enough at this point. Jarlaxle, on the other hand, was his usual jovial self. If there was adventure to be had, Jarlaxle would make sure he was right in the thick of it. He smiled and gave one of those annoying bows as they kept looking around. After finding everything they could use they went back to the main cell block area and heard shouts at the upper end. The partners in crime came across a crazy ranger named Minsc. Clearly this man was unstable and dangerous. Jarlaxle thought it be wise to leave him where he was. This 'Minsc' didn't like the idea. All of a sudden the crazed ranger broke free from the cell and attacked Jarlaxle. The duo did what they had to. "Well that was unexpected", Jarlaxle laugh. Artemis wasn't smiling. Anyhow, they found another prisoner close by. They freed a half-elf druid named Jaheria who insisted on coming along. Jarlaxle seemed utterly taken back by this Jaheira's beauty. Look's like 3's not a crowd. Artemis just shook his head and the group moved on...hopefully to an exit. Artemis wanted to get to the bottom of this and find out who was behind their capture. He looked at Jarlaxle who was just smiling and enjoying the company of our newest companion. Artemis couldn't believe the events that just unfolded. Deciding to ponder on it later, the group moved on.

The trio continues down the hallway which is littered with dead bodies. The corridor turns to the right into a small chamber. Artemis and Jarlaxle stealth into the room and find some large lightning rod in the middle of the room that shoots mephit-producing bolts. Artemis notices a panel on the wall that seems to shut the contraption down. He heads over to it while Jarlaxle takes care of the lone beastie. As they continued north they come into a large cavern of sorts. "This place is not what it seems", Jarlaxle commented with a laugh. All of a sudden a djinn named Aataqah appeared out of no where and confronted the startled group posing a riddle. Not sensing any immediate threat from the djinn, they went ahead and answered his question. Feeling more and more uneasy, the assassin went to the shadows as the sound of laughter faded into the form of an Ogre Mage. With ridiculous speed, Jarlaxle pulled out his twin blades. Before he could attack, Artemis Entreri sprang from the shadows and poisoned the orgre. Jarlaxle sprang to action and duo cut the mage down. Jarlaxle chuckled at their unfortunate events thus far. Artemis gritted his teeth and group continued on.
They saw a winding corridor to the west. As they rounded the bend, they heard the sounds of goblins. "Whosever behind this has an army of monsters under them", the frustrated assassin remarked. "I know, isn't this great!", remarked the, always jovial, drow. They jumped out of the shadows and slaughtered the pathetic creatures. Further on, they found a door and within was a room full of tanks which also held some sort of creature within. "Looks like he was doing some sort of experiments", Jaheira finally chimed in. Artemis had a bad feeling and knew that the half elf was right. Even Jarlaxle had sense of dread on his face. Who was this mad man behind all this, he thought. They headed out of the room to another door across the way and found a sewage golem that, once again, stood motionless and kept asking the group if they were its master and if it should perform its duties once it had the activation stone. Intrigued, the group headed out. "We have to find the stone", Jarlaxle said. Artemis just gave him a nasty look upon hearing the blatantly obvious statement. Continuing deeper they stumbled upon some golem sentries that they quickly took care of. Directly in front of them was another door. As they approached the door, they smelled the wonderful stench of goblins. Jarlaxle charged forward, and Artemis appeared from behind as the duo cut the helpless creatures down. Not wanting to alert any more monsters to their prescence they entered the doorway quietly and came upon another one of those tanks. As they came closer, something inside of it started talking to them. Rielev was his name or at least it used to be. This creature was neither alive nor dead. Utterly confused, Jarlaxle freed Rielev from its torment. "This just keeps getting better and better", the bewildered assassin said. On a table nearby, they found the activation stone. From there they returned to the sewage golem. Jarlaxle took the stone and strutted up to the motionless golem. "I am your master golem and you will do as I command." The drow dropped a wink back at the disgruntle assassin and Jaheira. The golem asked for the stone and darted off outta the room. "Lets hope that was a good idea", Jaheira said. "Me too", Artemis responded back. Fully impressed with himself, Jarlaxle led the group out of the room and they continued on coming into, what looked like, a library. The duo hid in the shadows as they entered the room telling Jaheira to stay behind. Things were getting better alright. As they ventured further into the libary they saw a small contingent of goblins as well as another mephit. Jarlaxle darted off towards the goblins without a word. Artemis shook his head and stealthed toward the waiting mephit. Their timing couldn't have been better as the assassin's poison hit the mephit and the drow's dance of death cut the goblins down where they stood. "Think we should plan our attacks AHEAD OF TIME!?", the assassin barked. "We won didn't we?", the ever-smiling drow responded.
After searching through the library and picking up any valuables, the group headed through a southern passage. At the end of the long passag they came across an open door. Once again, the group approached slowly and listened. They heard the sounds of a creature within. They peeked around the corner and saw an Otyugh moving about. "You have got to be kidding me", the assassin whispered. They hit the shadows and approached the creature cautiously. With pinpoint precision they attacked the creature at the same time killing it. Unfortunately, Jarlaxle got diseased from the creature. Jaheira cast some healing spells to help him. Afterwards they looked around the room some and then set up camp. They were exhausted and hopefully, with a little luck, their presence would be unknown to any of the other denizens that might be walking or crawling about. Artemis decided to stay alert anyway. He didn't trust lady luck.

Lichhunt went quite smooth. They simply can't stand against Mazzy with Azuredge. Vs Kangaxx she used Protection from Magic scroll, Sunray from Daystar, Viconia helped with Firestorm (which dealt amazing damage) and lend her Mace of Disruption when Kangaxx turned to Demi-Lich. Even unproficient Mazzy smashed the flying rotting skull in second hit (oh... how I miss Morte here. He'll definitely have had amusing comment on that one) and Jaheira got her betrothal ring:

Next was Guarded Compound. Nalia hit with Death Spell on first floor - all but Glabrezu died. Viconia and Mazzy dealt with him in few rounds. The rest were no match:

Now onto Windspear Hills.
to be continued...

Methias' stats: STR:18/84 DEX:19 CON:16 INT:11 WIS:14 CHA:8
Akatoshi's stats: STR:14 DEX:18 CON:16 INT:18 WIS:3 CHA:8
The party at present: Jaheria, Yoshimo, Minsc and Aerie
We have completed both the dungeon of Irenicus and the circus.
The only mishap thus far was Akatoshi miss-aiming a fireball and killing herself.
We have headed into the slums and have began chapter 2.

After recruiting Korgan, I noticed he had the wrong proficiencies, and three less of them than he should have. Shadowkeeper to the rescue again.
With Korgan now in the proper fighting condition, we rescued Viconia:

Then we went to get the Book of Kaza for Korgan:

On the way back, we ran into another bug with a slaver ambush. Hador put the enemies to sleep with malison+emotion, but the mage got right up after being killed and proceeded to lbombard the party with spells. Being already dead, she could not be stopped. I could have run for it, but I decided to reload to see if I could replicate the behavior, and indeed, it happened again:

The culprit seems to be Viconia's spider-venom: it not only woke up the unconscious slavers, but also - again - the dead slaver wizard. I managed to circumvent the issue by first CTRL-Q:ing the mage to join my party, and then CTRL-R-healing her, which finally made her death take.
Afterwards, we fought Korgan's old party (in the process of which, Hador got a stern warning from the Cowlies):

Where Korgan had a ridiculous amount of XP yet was only level 7 or something and didn't have the correct amount of proficiency points. Also that Red Wizard that comes for Edwin ... or Edwina, wouldn't die either, his status said 'Dead' but he kept on casting spells and utterly destroying the Copper Coronet. I don't know if this is because he sustained too much damage too quickly or what, but reloading and killing him again did the trick.
I think the problem with Korgan may have had something to do with Level 1 NPCs. When I encountered his problem, I went into Level 1 NPCs and made him a Berserker myself, I then reloaded before I'd entered the CC and he was fine.
Edit: from looking at your WeiDU I saw you used L1NPCs to alter Viconia and Mazzy, I'm assuming you turned Mazzy into a Paladin? But what did you turn Viconia into out of interest?

Not to worry I thought - mephit stunning doesn't last too long. Indeed she soon came out of it and started to run again - only to be stunned again almost immediately. Starting to be a bit concerned now, but she still had around 50% hits when she recovered for the second time and tried to cast invisibility - only to be stunned again! Really concerned now as HPs were down at dangerously low levels so considered carefully what I would attempt when she recovered this time - needn't have bothered as she was stunned again before recovering and finished off.
Just prior to that she had reached level 10 and chosen sunfire as a 5th level spell. Perhaps next time I'll run round the dungeon blasting things from invisibility!

Bad luck, Grond0, especially to get stunned several times. The randomness of the mephits (though some of them are of a fixed type) can be extremely dangerous. I always go invisible for the last mephit since it tends to spawn as the stunning type.Grond0 wrote...

At the very least you should always explore while invisible and only decide what to do after having figured out what type of mephit you're dealing with.

Viconia is a Cleric/Mage, as she has been in my last few runs. I mostly wanted to try something a bit different with her, C/M was a class I'd been meaning to experiment with, and Aerie's personality doesn't appeal to me, so it all seemed to fit together nicely.
(Mazzy was a Paladin, yes. I changed my mind on switching her afterwards, though, but the difference was so minor I didn't bother updating the WeiDU link.)
Besides, Viconia has better all round stats than Aerie, so makes a better Cleric/Mage than her anyway, plus her 60% magic resistance is just brilliant. It's funny how devastating she came become later on, especially with the robe of Vecna and other spell casting speed enchancements, which are great for slow Cleric spells.
Edit: did you make her a specialist Mage per chance? I usually make her an Necromancer ... seems to fit in with being a Cleric? It's the only specialist mage class I can think that would make sense in a role playing point of view.

Yep. The only problem will be choosing which of my characters gets that robe, given that my PC is also a magic-user. Well, assuming I get that far - in my game, Vecna's robe is in Watcher's Keep.
Still, even without fancy equipment, she's quite powerful already. Spell triggers, particularly, offer interesting options for a C/M, like turning into spider form and then buffing yourself with precast triggers and sequencers: Stoneskin + 5 APR w/poison + Cleric combat enhancements (+ Improved Haste once I get it) = spinning murder top.
Of course, Viconia is my favorite character, so I'd probably take her along even as a single-class Beastmaster...

No, mostly because I wasn't sure how such an "illegal" combination would access game balance. I did consider it, as well as installing Divine Remix and trying her as a NightCloak of Shar.
