That picture is from DA:O. It's in the Prima DA:O strategy guide page 243.
Tis true, I used to have it as my background before Origins came out. It was the picture for the High Dragon on the Origins main site.
She's
here, too.
But there are a few differences.
omg she (mystery lady) must be the risen Andraste! Kolgrim was right! What a fool I was...
LOL
What if Flemeth is actually Andraste? That would be quite a twist!
Anyway, I'm over-imaginative today.
That'd be rad.

Correct me if I'm wrong but aren't the Free Marches supposed to be like the bread basket of Thedas? I'm not sure exactly what they use to make bread in Thedas but I can tell you it sure as hell isn't wheat since you know, I don't see it growing in the arid wasteland constantly being presented to us.
The more I think about it, the more I'm thinking the wasteland stuff in the concept art and everything is actually the Anderfels- just read the Anderfels codes entry- its a land ravaged by 2 blights, basically a barren desert and that one concept art with the mountain/castle overlooking a barren steppe? Sounds like Weisshaupt to me...and to boot, the Awakening epilogue for the Orlesian mentions a possible new Blight beginning up there- maybe that explains the darkspawn in the screenshots?
Although I'd be a bit confused why we'd be at Weisshaupt and the Anderfels when we're not the Warden....

Edit: Oh and, over less combat related skills, but you can increase the power of said skills as you increase in power yourself, basically it was explained that you'll tailor a smaller amount of skills to be what you want through gameplay. So rather then getting a new skills every level you enhance one you already have or whatnot. Sounds intriguing.

That dragon concept art is the same as old Origins art but coloured.
Weird.
The horns are ever so slightly different and kind of match up to the White Haired Mage Lady's hair (or Flemeth if you prefer)...
Old DAO High Dragon:

"New" DA2 dragon:

And the Mage Lady (aka Flemeth) and her peculiar hair which looks an awful lot like the above "new" dragon horns...

And again here...

Even notice in addition to her peculiar hair horns, the little metal spiky thing on her head perfectly goes with the horn on the center of the new dragon's head...

Isn't the game already confirmed to take place in the Free Marches? I'm not sure I see them revealing two completely new countries in one release.

What I'm thinking at least is this- we know the game takes place over 10 years and the way the story is structured, its possible maybe we only see the Anderfels from the perspective of someone there telling the story of Hawke in the present. Then again, its 10 years, so maybe in those 10 years for some reason, Hawke needs to take a trip to the Anderfels?
But yeah, they've only mentioned the Free Marches so far. And I'd be kind of surprised if BioWare blows their load by letting us travel all over Thedas in one game. We shall see...

If it is then i suppose the below is to be taken literally and the landscape changes over the course of the game.
Now, forced to fight for survival in an ever-changing world, you must
gather the deadliest of allies, amass fame and fortune, and seal your
place in history.

Is there a codex entry that describes the Free Marches as a bread basket?
Here is the DA wiki entry for the Free Marches- nothing about the geography really. And here is the in game codex entry:
The Free Marches are not a kingdom, nor even a nation in the most basic sense. People from that region dislike even being lumped together as "Marchers." Rather, they are a collection of independent city-states united only when it suits them; in this respect, they resemble the Bannorn before the arrival of King Calenhad. Because of this, the Free Marches have no capital, and what passes for a central government exists only sporadically, a sort of Landsmeet that convenes only during times of crisis.
I arrived in time for the Grand Tourney while it was on in Tantervale--a remarkable sight indeed. I saw Avvar hillsmen test their mettle against Orlesian Chevaliers, riders from the Anderfels buying Nevarran cavalry horses, Antivan craftsmen selling their wares to Tevinter mages. All of Thedas was on display.

As the 2 screenshots previous provided show, the armors don't look too good when renedered in 3D.

It's been said somewhere by someone, I'm certain of that. But where I honestly can't remember. Damnit now I'm going to go crazy trying to remember. Maybe David will help me out.

The Dwarf is actually Flemeth in disguise.

I never noticed this before... but does anyone else find it strange that Ogre's have littlle loincloths?
Just seems like something a 15ft tall behemoth wouldn't really concern itself with.
Maybe the other darkspawn didn't want to look at hideous ogre wang all day so they made someone cover it up?

Wow......the Dwarves look.......modern. At least their outfits from what I can see. A lot as changed in ten years.
He's most likely a surface dwarf and it would make sense for him to be keen on the local fashion sense. Brown and gray armour might be fashionable for every other thing that moves in Ferelden, but in the Free Marches who knows?

Primary enemy of the game will be some sort of cult (kind of like a larger version of the cult at Haven) and the Dwarf guy is the leader while the chick is the tsundere bodyguard that betrays him for love.
Hawke's beard is just too manly afterall.
The dwarf is telling Hawke's story and is the Narrator we've heard about. The lady is a Seeker from the Chantry and is attempting to learn Hawke's story and his motivations for whatever reason.
If she's from a different organisation, why is he sitting on a throne with the same symbol as the one on her armour on it?

I mean, if was going to interrogate someone, I'd make them sit on a splintery wooden stall, still stained with the blood of the previous person who was interrogated.
And I sure as hell wouldn't give them a drink they'd enjoy.

Because she might be questioning him at the Seeker's HQ? And it could be just a chair for all we know -- the rest of the area isn't shown.
Come to think of it, the scene kind of looks like a fantasy version of an interogation scene.
You know, a character in a dark room with a single light hanging above them. The character could just be a roguish character making light of the situation. I mean look at him.
Edit: Green beat me to it. <_<
