So that means dragon lady is probably Flemeth, and not OGB. Thank God. Hears to Bioware saving OGB for a role as a protagonist.
Where as Hawke is merely working towards the aquisition of power and fame, OGB as a protagonist could be a quest for near godhood. Or of course, OGB could become a grey warden, and use his archdemon powers (sans the madness) to kick ass and stuff.
don't put your bets on the OGB yet remember some people didn't do the dark ritual.
Many believe that the DR has been canonized.
I guess i'll have to agree to that, i mean there more to go with the OGB than without it i would think, but i'm still not putting my bets on it yet

Here's the statement regarding Flemeth for all those who are wondering: "This dragon is more than it appears. After swooping down and grabbing a darkspawnin its talons, it transforms into a familiar figure: Flemeth. Still holding the dead darkspawn in her hand, Flemeth walks through the flames and approaches Hawke, saying "Well, well, what have we here?" (source: Game Informer Article)
I wonder if Flemeth is the reason Hawke escapes Lothering.

said something in another topic about it. Here's what i said:
"well if you read the article it says that the dragon transforms into a familiar figure, which is Flemeth. By saying familiar figure it could mean that she didn't "die" yet which could mean that once you do meet her it is when you are escaping Lothering which also then means that the game starts at the destruction of Lothering (source game informer article). So yea she could be helping Hawke, but for what means, that might be the big question."

Well unless Game Informer was wrong, the dragon screenshot was captioned "Flemeth," so yes she is back, and so is something to do with Morrigan.
If she is a party member - we're way over powered, IMO.

Have you guys seen the picture of the seeker for the Chantry. Isn't she a little dark to be with the Chantry? I've been thinking a little and what if that seeker is actually Morrigan? She might just be a seeker, but there's more than meets the eye with this seeker i think.
It was posted in another thread that the Seekers are "Internal Affairs" for the Templar. I'd imagine they wouldn't project wam and fuzzy feelings when they are on the job.

Or accept apostates in their ranks.

Except it hasn't been. Not yet, at any rate. It still could be canonized, but until BW actually comes out and says that the Dark Ritual is the official way the story goes, then it's nothing but fanon. Since the sequel has already caused a great deal of jaw-dropping to those that assumed, despite all the cautions from devs, that The Warden would the protagonist for DA2, I'm still hoping for a game that allows for every ending available to DA:O to be possible.

Okay, DA:O takes place about 30 years into the current Age. What time frame is DA2 set in? Any clues? Curious as to the age of Morrigan/Flemeth.
If the game starts during the destruction of Lothering then I would assume it would start sometime between 30-31 and will cover until 40-41.

To be honest, it would really bother me if the DR was canonized. I'm not sure how any self-respecting "good"-aligned character would ever consider going that route from an in-character perspective. To ignore your duty as a Grey Warden (either the PC, Alistair, or secret companion, whoever ends up making the killing blow) and in the process risk possibly the archdemon rising again for another Blight? I remember the first time I played through Origins...Morrigan's offer seemed *really* shady to me, whether you were romancing her or not. I refused without a second thought...and then I had to find a new mage. I didn't think she would actually leave, haha!
To get back on topic, from what we know so far, I find it highly likely that in DA2, Morrigan *is* Flemeth. Think about what we know about Flemeth/Morrigan from Origins:
- Morrigan believes that by obtaining Flemeth's true grimoire, she can defend herself against possession by Flemeth. Yet, when you do Morrigan's personal quest and encounter Flemeth, you don't even have to fight Flemeth! She's perfectly willing to just hand over her true grimoire to you. Clearly, she has no fear of Morrigan getting her hands on such "sensitive" information.
- Due to the above, I would guess that whatever plans Flemeth had for Morrigan were already in motion before she sent Morrigan off with the PC and Alistair after Ostagar. Flemeth knows that whatever Morrigan uncovers from obtaining her true grimoire will do her no good. Morrigan eventually getting possessed is already a "done deal" by this point.
- When you meet Flemeth in Origins, she's a very old lady who's likely going to need a new body in the near future. Part of DA2 taking place during the events of Origins (and then spanning 10 years) makes it likely that Flemeth switches to a new body (a certain scantily-clad one with lustrous black hair) sometime during these events.
- Could be a coincidence, but check out the dragon shown in the concept art pictures just released today. What colors are the dragon? Red and black. What colors are Morrigan's outfit? Red and black.
Ahh, the joys of speculation...

Morrigan is the best character in DAO by far so it's good to know we'll see her again though she's probably the white-haired horned woman we've seen in the concept art.
Well it would certainly explain the indignant -itch face.
