Taking a break from BG2  and i am picking up nwn again. (its time for my 4 year rotation)
I checked the links at the old forums almost all of them are dead links =/ .  I would like to become involved in a pw again so if anyone could kindly point me in the right direction I would be extremely happy.  I used to play on higher ground but all my old friends from there have left for parts unknown. A pw with 20 +/- people would be cool if one even exists.

 Thanks in advance.:wizard:

Check out NeverwinterConnections. They have a lot of multiplayer events that are held on PWs with active DMs.

I think your question is a little bit contradicting.

You ask for a good PW but then instead it seems what you really are asking for is a popular PW.

If you want a PW with 20+ people on at all times it is really easy. Just start the game. Go on the server browser sort on players and voila. You have probably succesfully narrowed down your search criteria to a few servers.

On the other hand..if you are looking for a "good" PW there are a hell of a lot others that I would like to recomend. Check out my X-Fire guild page for starters.

Sorry for the slight rant but popular does not always equal good.

Sure...it takes some more time to get people together on the less populated servers..but its worth it.

You might like other action PWs:
The Three Towns - loot server, full pvp but its not arena here, also no PK around, pvp is fine there; also no haks required
Dungeon Eternal X - full pvp, PK around, guild pvp at lvl 40, however quite silly leveling; I think they dont use any haks, but not sure
Shadow Mountains - I don't know this server very well, but there was review LINK; they uses CEP2
and Land of Larinia / unearthed - its not very populated server, but it was fun to play there, if you got someone to play with, you will enjoy there; no haks

all should be under Action PW or Action game style

Thanks for the reply. Not really looking for "popular"  My idea of good is one that is still chugging away with enough people on it that I can make friendsand slay dragons & liches.  I am a man of simple needs.

coralzombie,

I'd highly recommend that you check out the World of Aenea!  I am a longtime player and sometimes DM, and I can tell you that it is an absolutely fabulous place to go!

Check out this post for more info from the creator himself, The Amethyst Dragon!

And whatever you decide, welcome back to NwN - we're happy to have you!

Agreed. Although a server with a high population is good in many respects, I much prefer seven great RP/good people than the zerg guild type any day. Quality over quantity. :)

As stated above, definitely give World of Greyhawk a try. You'll rarely find 20 on at one time, but it's a great challenging world, constantly being updated and improved. Mostly an action server, but not the kind of action server where you can just run around killing things easily. If you just charge around, you'll die alot. Some RP goes on occasionally, but is not enforced. PvP is pretty much non-existent. Some of the great builders from NWN forums like to play there (Dwarflord, Cinnabar, Kail, etc.) often (or as RL allows them, anyway!).

What the others have so eloquently stated. What we have here is authentic frontier gibberish.

Regardless of the spam here from Greyhawk people. (Apprently they all are here and not playing on the server.Posted Image) There is numerous servers of numbers still on the Gamespy list. Since Higher Ground is on the action server I am assuming that you are looking only there where yes, Higher Ground does indeed dominate like a Lumberjack at a Bulimac Convetion's All-You-Can-Eat Buffet.

In Role Playing there is Forgotten Realms Cormyr, Aerlith, Amia I think it is called.

In Persistent Story there is City of Arabel.

If you are just looking for a server to play on then you can follow the white rabbit of course but in reality i suggest you look around in the PW section and post your question there with some other notes of intrest.

You know, that's not very nice, nor accurate.

In all seriousness, World of Greyhawk is probably one of the best servers I've ever played on. The DM's have done a great job of recreating the world that got many of today's players (me included) hooked on D&D in the first place, and are constantly talking with the player-base to determine how to grow the PW. In addition, they have created an environment that manages to balance magic setting, XP rewards and challenge.

Come give WoG a go. It may have a smaller player-base that what you're used to, but it is a very dedicated and friendly (see above!) one,

WoG sucks!

Disclaimer: the above opinion was reached after only 10 minutes on the server and in no way should be construed as either nice or accurate.

I now play almost exclusively on Noctar's Noble Realm, which is listed under 'Story'.

Balanced play with challenging beasties generally requiring a party, and many quests and areas to explore as well as a regular player base many of which have been on for years.

Also it is continually being developed and updated and there is usually a DM on.

So many good servers have just disappeared in the past year or so, it is really sad.

My login there is TM5000 also.
