Just seen an excellent episode of the IT Crowd with him in - Noel Fielding and Richard Ayoade could be ALL the NPCs between them, and I'd be perfectly okay with that.

Oh I don't know about that - I remember the creator of Doctor Who talking about how they had to address romance so much more in the TV series 'cos they didn't realise just how much sex appeal DT would generate when they cast him. Seriously, every female character who crossed his path basically fell in love with him. Would you want a Sex God Hawke running around in your party?

Well, considering how everybody wants to bone Shepard and the Warden. This wouldn't change anything.

David Tennant is best known for his role as the tenth Doctor in BBC's Doctor Who. While there is many good actors who've played the Doctor over the years, none of them have had performances that have stayed with me as long as that of Tennant.

His emotions adapt greatly to many situations throughout the series as shown in the video below:


This would appeal to another audience (mainly, Doctor Who fans) and attract a different voice than a gruff tough mean guy that most games with voice acting try to go for, he can pull off the various roles that a main character requires without pushing it into weird zone (for example, the Mass Effect 2 romance dialogue from Mark Meer is a little creepy).

Since there's a lot of people saying his voice is too high pitch for the stereotypical warrior voice (I disagree, but that's my opinion) and since there has been a lot of ideas about him being an NPC based off his Doctor Who appearances as a crazy physician or a companion, I've changed the thread to accommodate these beliefs and hopefully drag in more discussion!

Yeah, that's what's so good about Tom Hardy. He's never typecast and can play Bronson mental as well calm and suave Eames among other roles. He would be perfect for the various levels Hawke has to be able to sound.

I would abandon my tradition of always playing a female character if he was doing the voice-acting

if he gave the voice to one of the companions (mage is the class i imagine for his voice), i imagine he would say this in the epilogue:
"you were brilliant"


or his war cry: "Allons-y"

to me, he really gives of that energetic mage feeling.
i'd never swap him out of my party if his voice and mannerisms were there.
