They used Samuel L Jackson in San Andreas, far too recognizable, ruined the game. Same problem with Tennant. Want unknown or better yet, text and no Commander Shepard.

Hey, maybe I'm living under a rock or something, but he's not that recognizable, is he? Certainly not comparable to a guy like Samuel L Jackson. Besides, his voice is nowhere near as distinctive as Jackson's, so I don't see how it would ruin the game. Besides, a good voice actor can change their voice to sound like different people quite easily.

Not in the states, certainly. Though he was in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.

Jackson is a midget compared to Tennant.

Well, he was Doctor Who, which is known to Sci-Fi fans, which often overlaps with Fantasy fans, both of which are the type who would tend to like BW games....

Speaking stereotypical nerd, of course. Like myself.

Claudia Black was also on Stargate and that certainly didn't ruin the performance in Dragon Age even though her voice wasn't any different in both performances

Tennant would certainly be a valuable addition to the cast. Either as a companion or more minor NPC. I really don't think he's suited for Hawke, though.

No, this guy was too quirky and methodical for Hawke.

Two words:

Russell Crowe.  (Hawke, Crowe )

I'd honestly prefer a highly experienced voice actor to a tv or film actor for Hawke.

I honestly don't see Dave's voice coming out of Hawke without it looking silly.

Depends on his class, I think. I could quite happily see DT as a rogue or mage, but not a fighter, really - or a stereotypical fighter type anyway. But, then, I'd struggle to think of an actor who could convince me as all three.

I don't mind who they use, so many good suggestions in this thread already, but I trust BioWare to get the scripting and voicing done well even if they screw up on the gameplay a wee bit sometimes.

My vote goes for Richard Armitage if it has to be a well known actor though, with David McDonald as a companion mage and Ross Noble with a lot of lines. If they cast Jonas Armstrong or anyone else from that stupid Robin Hoody show (apart from Armitage) unless they die horrible in a fiery death I shall burn every copy of the game I can find before embarking on a campaign of terror against BioWare.

I like the voice of the fellow who is the pilot in ME/ME2, Seth Green. He's mighty cool, it'd be awesome if he could do the voice of Hawke, or at least one of the major characters.

He's good for a comic relief character, but it'd drive me nuts he did the entire VO for the main character.

If Bioware want to spend megabucks, Christian Bale in "Reign of Fire" mode could be good. (That film also has Dragons and beards, so would be a perfect fit imo:happy:)

David Tennant may be a tad bit weak for Hawke, but I would definitely love to see him in the cast of Dragon Age 2.  I really liked that idea of being a character called "The Physician" that I read about earlier in this thread.  If he was brought into the cast of Dragon Age 2, I would completely ignore all of the less popular changes that have been made in the sequel.

Unless I'm mistaken, a foolish idea like "Blasto the Hanar Spectre" actually made it into Mass Effect 2 because it was a big thing in the community.  I support David Tennant as our apostate apothecary in Dragon Age 2.

*Glares at Bioware*  Make it happen people.

I'll be fine with this provided that each dialogue option has a button that makes him kick the people into wells.

I just literally snorted coffee all over my PC

Well played sir, very well played.

*snort.* I can totally see this happening, too.

Hawke: Hello, [insert NPC name here.]! What brings you here to the great land of Kirkwall?
Messenger: I bring a message from our lord, King Frankenbean.
Hawke: Frankenbean? Isn't he that crazy Mr. Bean brought to life?
Messenger: ....No.
Hawke: Oh, right. Well then, go on.
Messenger: He sends a message. Ahem. 'To you, my least helpful, and most aggrivating antagonist, I send you this threa-'
Hawke: He's sending me a thread?!
Messenger: ....You didn't let me finish. I was going to say threat, not THREAD.
Hawke: ...Carry on, then.
Messenger: 'Join my kingdom, or parish!'
Hawke: Parish? NEVER. And just to send you a message, I will kick your messenger down a well!
Messenger: What? But..this is blashpemy! This is--oh, sod it all, I'm standing by a well, aren't I? Oh so very convenient. Also, how is killing the messenger sending a message at all?
Hawke: .....Madness? This is-
Messenger: HOLD ON. WAIT A MINUTE. WAAAIT A MINUTE. Please, you must reconsider! I am only the messenger! Also...isn't this a little bit silly?
Hawke: Not at all. THIS IS KIRKWALL. *kicks Messenger down a well!*
Messenger: Oh for the Maker's sake I knew I should've listened to my mum and got that job as a blaaaaack smiiiiiiiiiiiiiith!
