Note: Edited Disappointment 1 so people will udners tand more clearly what I am coming from.

Honestly, I was ready to gouge my eyes out with a spoon waiting for info on DA2. And now, I am enraged at what Bioware has done. See, I don't have Mass Effect 2 registered because I don't have the game. I played the Demo, and was honestly not impressed.

My biggest disappointments are:

1. Your character is not a Grey Warden, hello Grey Wardens are one of the main foundations of the DA universe are they not? The story is built around the Blights, the fall of the tevinter imperium and the rise of the chantry were greatly contributed to by the first blight if I read the codex entries correctly. The Blights and the Grey Wardens have a signifigant impact on what is going on.

2. I don't get to see what happens to my character after Awakening, that was what half of my anticipation was for DA2. When I played DA:Origins I felt like I was the character and my own morality often played into my choices of my characters actions. It was like reading a good book thats sequal was scrapped.

3. ME:2 was not a game I can get in to and if DA2 ia anything like it I'm probably not going to waste my cash on it and put more money into games like Halo Reach and CoD Black Ops.

4. I honestly wanted to fight darkspawn, or do something along those lines as a race of my choice. I honestly dislike being a human, in DA:Origins my favorite stories were those of the Dwarves.

5. It won't be DA anymore. Honestly, I would at least like to create a character of any race and go through any origin story I wished or continue the quest of another one of my characters or their children, descendants, w/e. In my opinion DA2 is going to be a huge flop...

Discuss?

1. No, Thedas is the foundation of DA world.

2. Possibility of another Expansion. Bioware said they are not done with the 1st DA just yet me thinks.

3. Devs said Hawke is not Shepard. Hawke does not have preset character like Commander S.

4. Too bad.

5. Too bad.

If Grey Wardens/Darkspawn were actually the only things of any relevance in Dragon Age, the world would get very stagnant, very fast.

I made an edit, I realize I used bad wording with it which seems to have led to misunderstandings.

Sorry to seem like an ass. Wasn't trying to be one. Srsly. A hug? Posted Image

I was just trying to be to the point. There is nothing I can say about the last 2 points. We all just have to live with it.

I understand this much, but I would like at least some involvement of the Grey Wardens or Darkspawn to impact the storyline in some way. The origin being excluded of course. My biggest fear is that they will make a ME remake with Dragon Age 2 however.

Yes, really. It may be just a habit due to the hostility I am used to showing in the Bungie forums however.

Sigh.......... I love it when people write stuff off without ever trying it or even waiting for more than a page of info to be released on it for that matter.

Sorry. Its simply comments like that, are what I typically see in the Bungie forums and they are primarily used by people in an attempt to anger others. Sorry if I show any hostility, I am not used to this forums community yet.

Listen, the truth is your already ripping on a game that has been announced like 2 or 3 days ago. We don't even know what the gameplay looks like and the story is still somewhat vague to us. And always showing hostility on forums isn't very healthy ya know.

I am simply writing about what will be disappointments as of now. I will wait for information but typcially from what I know it seems like they are making DA into a ME remake. Besides, from Biowares lack of service or any form of care for the DA console version I don't expect much.

It's alright. Bungie forums, eh?

I suggest you'll try to be patient and see where DA2 is heading before dismissing it. The first day I saw some of the info I was : "Eh, they cut out origins" Posted Image. When I saw more info I was: "Meh, seems ok" Posted Image. When I saw even more info I was: Posted Image. And then I saw the dark-armored Lady: Posted Image.

For me, it is getting better  with each day, despite my initial disappointment.

It's a different game. Different locale. Different character. Different story.

It's in the same setting, and the rules are probably mostly the same. That's what makes it a sequel. All that other stuff is what makes it a different game.

The Blights and the Grey Wardens have a signifigant impact on what is going on.

Yet this isn't a story about the blights and the darkspawn, it's a story about one (wo)man's rise to power in the Free Marshes. Thedas as a whole is filled with fresh storylines, remaining with the darkspawn would make the storyline wear out and become overused really quickly.

If anything, the storyline in Dragon Age: Origins wasn't really about the Blight but more about the people as a whole and the civil war going on; darkspawn were just backround threats.

2. I don't get to see what happens to my character after Awakening, that was what half of my anticipation was for DA2. When I played DA:Origins I felt like I was the character and my own morality often played into my choices of my characters actions. It was like reading a good book thats sequal was scrapped.

DLC / Expansion packs might come in the future and bridge the future of the Warden, maybe we'll never really know and the Warden just walked off into the sunset and was never heard from again.

3. ME:2 was not a game I can get in to and if DA2 ia anything like it I'm probably not going to waste my cash on it and put more money into games like Halo Reach and CoD Black Ops.

That's your choice, not ours.

or do something along those lines as a race of my choice. I honestly dislike being a human, in DA:Origins my favorite stories were those of the Dwarves.

They took the storyline to involve a human, this creates a more personal and integrated storyline for Hawke rather than leaving everything general and flat to involve the character in. You'll probably have a lot more personal moments with Hawke than the origins.

5. It won't be DA anymore.

Still in Thedas? Yes.

It's Dragon Age, alright!

go through any origin story I wished or continue the quest of another one of my characters or their children, descendants, w/e.

Not only would this create such a burden to the staff considering all the possibilites and such between all the characters, it would be boring and negate a lot of fangirl dreams (Alistair / Warden cannot have children together).

The plot would be locked into one storyline too, you're just the kid of the Warden. Not much different from Hawke's purpose and a lot less interesting.

In my opinion DA2 is going to be a huge flop...

That's your opinion and you're entitled to it.

I'm entitled to say wait and see.

Deal with it seriously. We have so little information and you're already going up in arms like the rest of the nerd ragers.

Am i afraid of some of the changes? Hell yes i am, but i am waiting for more information to come out before making a conclusion.

My biggest disappointment at the current moment is that the trailer video (of actual gameplay) isn't out yet.

On a serious note some of the announcements have made me teensy bit concerned, but they are all probably marketing hype language and I am saving my disappointment for something more substantial rather than a few lines and screenshots.

To the OP: Not that your concerns are less valid, and I wholly respect your right to have and express them.

I would rather have an "ME remake with Dragon Age 2" than an endless rehash of the main plot of Origins over and over and over again. The story of the Wardens is done. The story of the darkspawn is done. It's time to move on, friend.<_<
