I think it's an absolute shame Mass Effect on DVD forces itself to install on your C drive. This is the ONLY game I EVER installed that did not give me a choice for install location. My computer does not have autorun available because I use VMWARE and VMWARE shuts it off.

I am forced to go into the autorun.inf files to see what to execute to get the game started. In that file I saw - autorun.exe

I executed autorun.exe.  I got a panel with asking me to agree to the same garbage every other game asks you to agree to. I said yes.
Next, it asked my language, to which I chose "english".

Next, I was asked for my DVD code. I entered it successfully, and away the install went. Many directories were expanded and I just kept waiting for a screen asking me where I wanted the game installed. No option.  How can that be possible Bioware? You have been making games for a long time - how could you freakin overlook giving the user a choice as to WHERE you want to install the game.

Shame on you. Forcing us to put  YOUR game on the operating system drive. I bought another copy at steam (I've learned my lesson I will never buy a game on dvd ever again) because steam gives you A CHOICE WHERE YOU WANT YOUR GAME INSTALLED.  So I have a DVD here I will never use. 10 dollars plus 3 dollars shipping or 13 dollars and I will ship you my brand new (only opened once to install to my utter disgust on the C drive. I uninstalled it immediately. If you are the type that doesn't mind installing your games on drive C, I have the DVD here for you for 13 dollars. Email me at bobbygr.falcon@hotmail.com if you are interested in the original Mass Effect DVD for 13 dollars (shipping included). I will give you my paypal account - once  I receive payment - the DVD and all packaging including manual are yours.

AGAIN SHAME ON YOU BIOWARE FOR BEING SO STUPID AS TO NOT GIVE YOUR CUSTOMER A CHOICE AS TO WHERE THE GAME WILL BE INSTALLED. VERY POOR DESIGN. YOU ARE NOT THINKING OF THOSE OF US WHO BACK UP OUR OPERATING SYSTEM DRIVE REGULARLY. DO YOU THINK YOUR GAME IS SO GOOD IT DESERVES TO BE PART OF MY OPERATING SYSTEM?

i THINK NOT. YOU ARE GETTING TOO HAUGHTY DUE TO YOUR SUCCESS. IT'S VERY BALLSEY TO FORCE A CUSTOMER OF YOUR DVD TO INSTALL IT ON THE OPERATING SYSTEM DRIVE. YOU NEED TO BE HUMBLED.

1) You should have tried EA first.
2) Ranting and using caps makes it less likely you will get a helpful response. Especially when the rant is non sensical, and shows your impatience, and ignorance.
3) Calling Bioware stupid? You cant even figure out how to install a simple program onto an alternate drive, yet you call Bioware stupid?
4) Never buying a game on DVD again after "learning the lesson"?
5) I have the DVD version, and I had no problems installing it onto my D drive. I did, however, pay attention to all areas of the installation menu choices.
6)
edit: 7) Translate my sig. Hint: its latin
