Luminoso has finished her adventures in BG1.
In the city she just obtained the tomes -
Marek thought an invisibility potion would keep him safe, but missiles were already on their way. After sneaking through the Iron Throne she was sent to Candlekeep. Again she took a minimalist route there, but still nearly died. Normally I use a scroll of magic protection as the easy way to protect against traps, but that doesn't protect against spike trap damage, so I decided to use Luminoso's jelly form this time. That worked fine against spikes and
lightning, but failed to protect against one of the fireball traps.

She had no fire resistance up at the time as I wasn't expecting a fireball trap that bypassed magic resistance. That seems a bit of a mean trick - I wouldn't have been pleased if Luminoso had gone up in smoke there!
Back in Baldur's Gate she called on Cythandria. No trouble there, though needed to be a bit
careful not to activate the Iron Throne party that was still hanging around just out of sight. Down to the Undercellars and the joy of facing Slythe with a
character that can eat him for breakfast , instead of worrying about the possibility of a vicious backstab ending things. Luminoso did put up a scroll of magic protection just to make sure that Krystin
couldn't try anything funny.
The palace fight was more difficult than I expected. The plan was for Luminoso to buff up with her spells and take the heat from the dopplegangers, while picking them off with magic missiles and MMM. However, I was surprised at how easily the dopplegangers hit her. She had an AC of -8 against them, but they were getting big bonuses for attacking against an unarmoured character and went through her stoneskins and mirror images in 2 rounds. Luckily she wasn't completely surrounded and was able to run away when she started taking damage.

All the remaining 4 dopplegangers followed her upstairs and, with the extra space available there, Luminoso had no trouble
picking them off.
She sneaked through the maze,
carefully tiptoeing around the traps, and eventually found herself in the temple. The plan here was to get Sarevok in a corner and then deal with his minions separately (Sarevok stays where he is when there's no-one in sight). Things went pretty smoothly:
-
Luminoso disappeared on cue.
-
Fireballs from a distance accounted for Semaj and Tazok, who stick close to Sarevok, while their skeleton warrior successors
were mobbed by summons.
- Angelo was eventually triggered to appear to attack some summons. He proved to be very good at it, but they
kept coming and coming until he finally got tired and lay down to die.
- The only one I was a bit wary about was Diarmid because his arrows can do so much damage. However, with him left on his own I was happy to pull him out and
set more summons on him.
- Last, but not least, Sarevok faced
his own ultimate destiny.
During the temple fight, in addition to her own spells, Luminoso used 25 charges from the wand of fire and 30 from wand of monster summoning. She had plenty of other options in reserve and it wasn't exactly an elegant method of winning the fight, but it was an almost zero risk way to get access to BG2.
One oddity about an earlier fight. Strange things sometimes happen when dispel magic is cast on a polymorphed character. For instance it's common for a monster's natural attack (like spider claws) to be dispelled (this is not much of a problem as can be fixed by recasting the polymorph spell). However, Luminoso suffered a more annoying bug in fighting outside the mine when the haste effect from her boots of speed was dispelled. This has changed the boots themselves, so bringing another copy into her inventory does not help. I used shadowkeeper to equip Drizzt's version of the boots, but these are not removeable so she can't swap to other boots (such as grounding) when desired. I'm not sure if it is possible to repair the original boots in shadowkeeper - anyone know how this could be done (other than by reinstalling the game)?
Edit: it appears not to be the boots themselves that have changed, but something in Luminoso's character file that stops her movement rate being reset.
Edit2: deleting everything from the "affects" tab in shadowkeeper worked and Luminoso is now ready to go on another journey.
