Indeed. With a full party, I have to spend at least a week, sometimes two on a single run.

@corey_russell well done.

@Enuhal I usually go with ‘Defensive Harmony’, ‘Farsight’, ‘Protection From Lightning’ & ‘Free Action’ but for soloing you’d probably get better mileage out of ‘Holy Power’… drop the ‘Farsight’. I assume that you do put up ‘StormShield’ because that is the best part of being an evil priest… well ‘Turn’ing paladins is pretty cool but that comes later.

Update for Paragon and his power party

The group continued on their travels.  They have completed all significant encounters in areas prior to the Cloakwood (except TotSC areas).
Paragon, Fighter 5 / Illusionist 5, 38 HPs
Exos, Wizard Slayer 6, 69 HPs
Avaunt, Fighter 5 / Cleric 6, 51 HPs
Jack, Fighter 5 / Thief 6, 49 HPs
Exhorter, Bladesinger 7, 47 HPs
Arcana, Sorceror 6, 24 HPs

They regard themselves as normal, but not everyone agrees.  Some of their more exciting encounters were:

- Exos followed too far towards some webbed sirenes and got caught himself (the short range for darts is a significant problem).  Avaunt thought he had saved him with a remove paralysis, but was disappointed to find this spell had no effect on web and Exos expired soon after.
- Paragon summoned some ogres to help kill Icharyd as Paragon himself was the only one with any lightning protection.  As it proved Exos was the only one hit by call lightning as Icharyd was killed so quickly.  The Ulcaster wolf fared little better.
- At the Firewine Ruins I was taking no chances this time.  Exos pushed forward using a scroll of magic protection and the 5 darts of stunning from the ankheg nest were sufficient to stun both Lendarn and the ogre mage.  Emerging into a kobold burrow they were also successful in killing Jenkal (I find doing that solo virtually impossible because Jenkal script disappears when in trouble, but the greater firepower of the party did the trick).
- Got a lift to the bandit camp and demonstrated to Tazok their fighting prowess.  Tazok would have got away if he had kept running in the same direction, but turned back here and was finished off.
- The bandits themselves suffered under the effects of web.  By the time it expired only a couple of bandits were left at a cost of 1 healing potion and a couple of charges from wand of fire (to help deal with Venkt quickly).

congratulations @corey

I'm using poison and cloak of fear right now, and sometimes protection from evil 3m.

Update for Shairazad, now level 8 priest of Talos:

Shairazad travelled to cloudpeak mountains, killing Sendai&co, Vax&Zal, some winter wolves, caldo&krum, returning a dead cat and a dog etc.
Next, she obtained the charisma-tome from gnoll fortress before returning to Nashkell and entering the mines.

There, she fought her way through level 2 with skeletons and used stormshield+lightning bolt for the final group before entering Mulaheys lair, summoning skeletons and holding the priest (his ring will be useful).
Next, while her reputation was still high, Shairazad bought the Necklace of Missles and the Ring of Invisibilty before killing Unshey to regain her belt and to gain minor drain again.
Back in Nashkell, the priest was attacked by the first group of assassins, and she used her new invisibilty ring. A hasted Morvin was commanded, some other enemies held and, with the help of some skeletons, Shairazad entered melee combat and wasn't even hit.

Also went to firewine bridge to hold Meilum for his gauntlets before getting ambushed again by the amazons at FAI. Again, the ring was used to run inside, but the party followed her. Eventually, she managed to summon skeletons upstairs and lure the enemies to their doom. One of them got away, I didn't manage to find her again.

Next, Shairazad went to Larswood, talking to Teven and calming Tazok, entering his tent buffed with storm shield and using the necklace of missles - two charges and two swings with her hammer later, everyone was dead. Still buffed, the lightning trap couldn't hurt Shairazad and she used her ring to sneak out of the camp. She's currently resting at FAI, after buying some potions at High Hedge.

Mrtyudasa with his pack of rogues returned to the fourth level of Durlag’s Tower.

Party killed some spiders and answered statue’s questions correctly. Then, Mrtyudasa forgot to position his fellows as far as possible before talking to another statue, confused east with west and brought a fireball upon them. He was properly protected himself, as well as Imoen, others, however, were not. They didn’t have any adequate potions ready and could only run. Alora and Skied made it, while Eldoth and Safana were engulfed by fire. Safana have died, but Eldoth survived, despite losing 45 HP. It took him quite a long time to stop running around, screaming ‘It burns! It burns!’.

Posted Image

Mrtyudasa retreated from the Tower again. After the funeral and some drinking, he went to the Jovial Juggler Inn to invite Garrick to his doomed cause. Bard’s low intelligence proved useful for once, as he agreed to venture into the Tower. But first, as the two bards looked so much alike, some changes had to be made. Mrtyudasa returned to the basilisk area to extract a certain belt from Xzar. He gave it to Eldoth. Garrick took the Heavy Crossbow of Accuracy (the reason why Aldeth had to die) while Skie armed herself with the Crossbow of Speed again. Party felt a lack of good backstabbing weapons, and gave Slythe and Kristin a lesson in their own trade. Party tested new weapons on some spiders on Durlag’s Tower first level. Eldoth scored a critical hit dealing 74 damage.

Back on the fourth level party encountered no more difficulties, as Mrtyudasa didn’t have to answer another tricky geographical question. Later, when faced by a demonknight, he resisted an urge to backstab him, and stabbed a mirror instead. Sadly, Eldoth forgot about casting her invisibillity spell, and was attacked by one of the creatures that had appeared (the ettercap-like). Brave Garrick rushed to aid a damsel in distress with a backstab (Backstabbing the beast, not Eldoth. I thought I should clarify this, as the bards were not fond of each other). When he delivered his backstab, he was spotted by another creature (same kind). He was hit and poisoned twice, then died.

Posted Image

It was really an embarrasing matter as the enemies weren’t exactly dangerous. Then again, for someone woth 22 HP and no helm everything is dangerous. While demonknight was dying, fighting with his reflection, party easily killed other creatures.

Party status:
Montaron, Coran, Tiax, Safana, Garrick – dead
Mrtyudasa, Imoen, Skie, Alora, Eldoth – still alive

Posted Image

As I have run out of rogues, I decided to continue without filling the spot.

Well done Corey.
Bluestaff wasn't quite so lucky. Failed at the top of the Iron Throne. Cynthandra used chromatic orb, which must have stunned me and the next thing I saw was that dreaded hand.
I assume that may rage had expired without me noticing.

Am now trying a Drow Fighter/Mage, Staff of Valour. Charisma minimised, everything else maximised except wisdom of 17. Got tired of waiting for a better throw. So far have got to FAI and killed Tarnesh except it was the guards who took advantage of my blindness spell and killed him. I think that my archery skills were hampered by daylight. All proficiency points were put in quarterstaff.

It was nice to go sans armor and just relax after clearing the Nashkel Mines and interrogating/killing Tranzig. The Red Shief can be a rough joint but no one messes with us, especially after the Tranzig execution @ the Feldepost Inn & our battle with the Amazon Assassins in front of the Burning Wizard!

                                                          Beregost, Nashkel Carnival (Chapter 3)

We returned to Beregost to catch Tranzig if he could. He was & we pummeled him w/spells & steel but not before he gave us info on the whereabouts of Tazok. Later, we took the ore sample & the mysterious vials of fluid to have them examined by Taerom & Thalantyr.

We decided to take a break & return to Nashkel to the carnival. While there, we walked in on a mage who was about to kill a woman. We confronted him & he turned hostile. We quickly killed him. The lady, who turned out to be a mage herself, was grateful. Later, some clown tried to pick our pockets in one of the gaming tents.  He’s now a member of the ‘dirt nappers’ club.  We’d earlier come upon a Gnome that was selling scrolls to free a petrified woman. Jaheira convinced him with a ‘THWAACK’ to give us the scroll w/which to do so. We also killed 12 Kobolds just north of the carnival.

We left & went to the Temple in Beregost where Jaheira purchased scrolls of R/Dead (RD) & Cure Critical Wounds (CCWs) (she’s bought 4 RD, 5 Stone to Flesh (StF) & 2 CCW scrolls).  We then recon’d the area near the temple where for the 2nd time in as many days we freed a petrified woman.  Later, we came across a mixed pack of about 10 wolves, including 2 Vampiric Wolves.  We had a long, difficult battle but finally killed them all.  From there we headed back to Beregost to rest and heal before continuing.

Key Event: Following our rest, we came out the door & were attacked by a band of Amazon Assassin’s.  As in Nashkel we were bunched up in the door. Unlike Nashkel, we weren’t able to disperse. Khalid & Dy cast Shield & Jaheira ‘Blessed’ us. The rest of us concentrated on the leader & killed her. I turned on another that was casting a spell while Minsc got tangled w/another. The spellcaster dropped a bunch of skeletons on the steps so now so everyone but Minsc & I were bunched up there. I almost had my opponent when she got me with ‘Rigid Thinking’ & left me flailing aimlessly. Eventually Minsc came to my aid but then fell victim to a ‘Sleep’ spell Dy tried on my opponent. The others finally killed the skeletons on the steps & one of the other two assassins. Imoen was injured so she & Dy moved back into the Inn. Somehow when they did Dy miss aimed a blow & it killed a commoner. Suddenly our sterling reputation was average. I finally gained my senses @ about the time Minsc woke & we quickly finished our amazon & then the other

RIP, Garden (M G F/I )

Working through Baldur's Gate, things went well. No real challenges for any of the side quests: one death (Dynaheir) happened at the top of the Iron Throne from a failed Confusion spell.

The catacombs under Candlekeep showed more "user error". Immy didn't ever find the lightning trap on the way to the STR tome and ended up triggering it multiple times, killing four (Imoen, Branwen, Xan, and Dynaheir). Minsc and Garden finished the catacombs, but Prat killed off Minsc before he and his party fell to Garden... making for a long trip to the temple in Beregost.

After returning to Baldur's Gate, a visit to the Iron Throne continued with an unpleasant encounter with Cythandria. This battle at the top of the Iron Throne was tougher, but again winnable -- but with three deaths this time (Imoen, Xan, Dynaheir). My squishy people tend to get squished if the party gets Confused as a whole.

The battle at Duchal Palace went well enough. Greater Malison, Doom, Summon Monsters II, Spider Spawn, Haste, Slow, Protection From Evil 15' Radius, Defensive Harmony, and various other personal defensive and offensive spells made the (non-improved) doppleganger fight fairly easy. One side note: Both Spider Spawn and Summon Monster II tend to summon evil creatures, so laying Holy Smite on top of everything was a really bad idea. As I did multiple times.

The Thieve's Maze was a non-issue. Invisible Imoen removed traps and the party just blew out the monsters.

The battle with Rahvin and company was done solo. Stoneskin, Fire Shield Red, two Rings of Fire Protection, Mirror Image, Blur, Protection From Evil, and then Fireball spells (replaced by Wand of Fire when the spells ran out) meant the enemy was getting a heavy, regular dose of fire damage from both Garden and the enemy's Arrows of Detonation, causing massive damage and spell disruption. For this battle, I used the Greenstone Amulet for the first time ever, although it went well enough that it probably wasn't needed.

For Sarevok's Showdown, I prepared in much the same way, and approached the platform.

To my surprise, only Sarevok was visible (remember, SCS isn't supposed to be installed). Must be a BGT thing. Sarevok kicks off the dialog, and we open with a Fireball spell.

Someone on stage counters with Remove Magic (or similar), which drops the spell protections. Some other spell effect fires from somewhere near Sarevok.

Game Over.

Much internalized swearing results. Not letting a player even see the log of what killed him and ended the game is unfortunate game design.

So, in order to find out what happened (thought maybe I triggered some trap on the stage, or who knows what), I go back and reload. This time, approaching with Dynaheir ( just Spider Spawn x 2, Mirror Image, and Stoneskin, we attempt to recreate the battle.

Nope, not a trap. I see text to the effect of Spell Trigger, Contingency and Tattoo of Power, which (among other things) cast Greater Malison, Death Spell, and Flesh to Stone IIRC. Dynaheir gives up the ghost, as expected.

I don't know who changed the default behavior for the Sarevok battle in BGT (assuming that is what changed it), but it's very different (and substantially more difficult) than what I recall the BG1 climatic battle to be, even with TotSC.

I even went and ran the SCS installer to make sure the SCS tactics section didn't have the improved final battle, but it did not. As a result, I guess I'm going to have to take Garden's party and play the final battle a few times to try to figure out the battle strategy and weakness.

*grumbles*

@After5CST: Consolations there at your loss. I noticed some spells you are using and the enemies are using (Death spell) are BG 2 only -- are you doing a tweak that allows BG 2 arcane spells for yourself and opponents? Because that might be the only difference...just a guess. My Sarevok battle never has the death spell is why I mentioned it. (I'm just EasyTutu no mods).

I don't know. I did poke around and find the relevant script (Semaj), which confirms the opening gambit:
IF
  Global("SemajBehavior","GLOBAL",0)
  Allegiance(Myself,ENEMY)
  See([PC])
THEN
  RESPONSE #100
    DisplayString(Myself,74447) // Contingency Released
    ReallyForceSpell(NearestEnemyOf(Myself),WIZARD_DEATH_SPELL)
    DisplayString(Myself,74447) // Contingency Released
    ReallyForceSpell([PC],WIZARD_GREATER_MALISON)
    Wait(1)
DisplayString(Myself,74448) // Tattoo of Power Released
    ReallyForceSpell([PC],WIZARD_FLESH_TO_STONE)
    SetGlobal("SemajBehavior","GLOBAL",1)
END
That's some nasty stuff for a 12th level caster. I'm guessing the dispel effects is coming from Angelo, rather than a Remove Magic.

I have a virtual machine which has bgt-weidu with bg1npc installed (but never been touched by SCS), and it also has the above spell block in it. I'm guessing it's BGT that adds the extra behavior/challenge.

Sorry for your loss, After5CST. This never happened in my BGt installations, so I wonder if the program might be lying to you. This also scares me greatly, since I allow mages to use BG2 spells - if my enemies will use death spell and flesh to stone, Shairazad will easily be defeated.

Shairazad, level 8 priest of Talos - Cloakwood.

After killing a few Tasloi and Druids (storm shield against call lightning), Shairazad entered the 2nd map - no problem with her free action ring, she used skeleton against the spiders and entered Centeols Lair - 2 necklace of missle uses and a few attacks and the battle was done. With DUHM, the body was brought back.
At the next area, the cleric good into battles with some shadow druids, including a rather long one with the shadow arch druid (I was extremely careful since I don't know his spell list). No problems, though.

Drasus' group was torn apart by luring one of the mages away by running and reentering the area. He was eventually killed by skeletons (though it took a LONG time), and Drasus himself was held. The remaining enemies died, the mage fell to a single lightning bolt which bounced in a very lucky way (killing him while he was invisible). The priest returned from cloakwood to buy some stuff: Potions of mind focusing from FAI and Wand of Heavens from Ulgoth's Beard + some more potions from high hedge.

Shairazad ran through the first and second level with sanctuary. She had to fight at 3rd level, which wasn't a big problem thanks to hold person.

For Davaeorn, skeletons charged, trying to lure either the doomguards or the mage away, but eventually the skeletons were killed by fireballs and somehow during this the doomguards went to injured (maybe due to cone of cold?). Shairazad, with storm shield and greenstone amulet active, charged, but she still got webbed thanks to me forgetting the amulet doesn't protect you from that, and she was almost dead when the effect faded a second after this screenshot. I actually thought the run was over, but with boots of speed she managed to run away while drinking potions. Doomguards followed her, and now it definetly became clear that those two were somehow bugged - or are they supposed to be immune to every damage type but blunt? Also, they didn't move anymore and didn't defend themselves, so Shairazad could just beat them to death with her war hammer (otherwise I had the wand of heavens ready, but it didn't deal any damage to them).

Shairazad rested, reentered, summoned skeletons and activated stormshield before attacking Davaeorn again, this time with more success. With wand of heavens, a potion of magic protection against his magic missle spells and some attacks, he was eventually defeated, and the cleric could finally enter Baldur's Gate.

By the way, since this is my first time entering BG with SCS installed, is there something I should be especially careful about that changes a lot?

The SCS script requires Daveorn and the doom guards to act as a team.  If the doom guards go onto a different level without Daveorn then their script paralyses them.

I can't think of any major changes in BG that you won't already be prepared for (like improved spellcasters).  The one component that might surprise you, if you have it installed, would be the relocation of the group of ogre magi bounty hunters from the house they were in in vanilla.

I thought I'd posted these questions already but I see they aren't there.  Hmm.

Anyway, here they are.

1) I always take the 'mysterious vial' and the ore sample to the Thunderhammer and High Hedge like Berrun Ghastkill recommends.  Thalantyr and Taerom always accept them and say they'll look into it but I never figure out how to bring it to close.  When I go back to Nashkil I can't even find Berrun anymore and when I go back to them they never seem to bring it up again.  Is there a way to 'close out' this quest?

2)  Another one I find is that in my journal it says something like, "A merchant in Naskill was VERY eager to help me solve the iron crisis" (or something to that effect).  What is that?  Is that from the Nashkel store?  Can you 'close out' that quest?

Thanks, CKT

Congratulations Corey.

Condolences After5CST. I can confirm these are standard BGT changes and have been there for at least 2-3 years. I had at least two major rants on these forums about it since then, even went back to EasyTutu/vanilla for a while as a result.

The only reliable solution I have found to this is to use a scroll of protection from magic, and buff after the remove magic is cast (it drops potion effects and special abilities despite the scroll being active). Having read Coreys EasyTutu run I am tempted to try two potions of magic protection (outside the no reload challenge that is because I have a feeling it won't work in BGT).

Otherwise remove magic (you could be right that Angelo casts this) strips protections then the malison, flesh to stone and death spell usually suffice. Interesting to see the script behind it.

Update for Paragon and his power party

The group have now cleared the Cloakwood and just arrived in BG.
Paragon, Fighter 6 / Illusionist 5, 45 HPs
Exos, Wizard Slayer 7, 74 HPs
Avaunt, Fighter 6 / Cleric 6, 59 HPs
Jack, Fighter 6 / Thief 6, 55 HPs
Exhorter, Bladesinger 8, 52 HPs
Arcana, Sorceror 6, 27 HPs

Normally my solo characters go through the Cloakwood very quickly, but Paragon took on all comers.  The druids caused no problems directly (none of the main druids getting a spell off),  but Paragon did take a nasty hit in one battle when a brown bear wandered across from a nearby random group and backclawed him.

There was no mercy for Drasus & co.  A web from each of the 3 arcane characters kept things locked down while the opposition were butchered.  Inside the mine Natasha is another enemy I tend to avoid because of the lack of places to run.  A couple of invisibility 10' spells let the party get the drop on her and her attempted response (probably a sunfire) fizzled as a result of Exos' wizard slayer ability.  A bit further on Jack demonstrated another ability that I have almost never used in the past as he lurked invisibly around an ogre mage dispelling improved invisibility and other illusions.

Daveorn himself is no real challenge if you're prepared to make use of the exit.  Paragon was and Daveorn followed upstairs to his doom.  Jack looted all Daveorn's treasure, so the first stop in the city will be to sell stuff.

I sometimes use potions of magic shielding as an alternative.  Just make sure that the person you want to protect has not used any recent actions when combat starts and it's then easy to take the potion as soon as the remove magic hits.

Weavel, TN human male shapeshifter. Travelling with Imoen,Minsc, Viconia and Jaheira.

Imoen reads a tome of dexterity. Viconia silences Vay-ya and obtains gauntlets of ogre strength. A temple visit is needed to raise Minsc after dealing with Jardak and his butler.

The wrong words see both Ragefast and Ramazith dead, freeing Abela the woodland nymph. Helping Varci Roaringhorn also means the death of Jalantha Mistmyr and Marek. We sell a nymph cloak for an outrageous sum, allowing a few unusual items to be procured, then head to Durlags Tower.

Imoen is unable to deal with the traps up the tower, so we wait for a dire charm to wear off before approaching her. Another tome for me to read though.

The Iron Throne HQ. Imoen suggests we're not ready to investigate but Minsc is raring to go and suggests I stay out of his way and cast some spells instead. I borrow the dagger of venom from Jaheira too.

We buff and head upstairs, only to be attacked. Minsc retaliates while we add entangle, silence and doom.
Posted Image

Naaman, Alai and Aasim resist the silence so Viconia gets the first two with a repeat incantation while Imoen shoots arrows at Aasim. He manages to flamestrike Viconia before stepping back and becoming entangled.

Minsc is confused and in trouble, while Viconia is badly wounded. She decides to summon skeletons instead of healing while I send insects to Aasim then call up two woodland beings. Viconia casts hold person and summons more skeletons.

Jaheira dooms Gardush then aims her sling at a concealed Naaman. Zhalimar Cloudewulfe hits Minsc for 17, sending our frontman crashing to the ground. Things look grim.
Posted Image

Viconia completes her dead summoning, switches to the Ashideena warhammer and retreats from the doppelganger as I cast horror gamesaver moment here as only Alai and Diyab resist then kill the doppelganger.
Posted Image

Imoen almost has Naaman but a skeleton kills him. Alai has killed a nymph, Viconia dooms and commands Diyab while Jaheira and Imoen hit him with missiles. He saves two commands and a hold but not the arrows fired by Imoen.

The skeletons are attacking somebody while we deal with a scared and held Gardush. Alai moves in, having killed the skeletons so Gardush will have to wait. I doom Alai as Imoen and Jaheira aim their missiles. Viconia dooms him and starts to heal herself as the entangles start to expire. This is my chance to shapeshift.

My first strike kills him outright so we turn on Gardush, Viconia killing him with a bullet. Zhalimar Cloudewulfe is running scared so we chase after him and I kill him with my bare hands claws. I stuff what we cannot carry into a wardrobe and get Thaldorn to squeal.

800gp sees Minsc breathing again, we return to pick up more loot and then rest.

What's wrong with this picture Gate70? Your group barely survives against the 5th floor Sarevok acolytes, yet Detman destroyed those same guys with his battle axe protected by a magic by himself? Would Detman be a "boss" if your current party encountered him? (he was -8 AC base AC, +11 to missiles and +3 to blunt about 91 HP).

Without doom, command, horror my party would be blitzed, no golden girdle to blunt an axe either. They're fairly low level at 40-46k xp which is usually asking for trouble against these mercs.

Minsc fighter 6, 44hp. AC -6, THACO 9, 1.5APR. 2HS so rolls of 17-20 would hit?
Weavel shapeshifter 7. 49hp shifter, AC -4. THACO 12, 2APR. Claws, but criticals only.
Imoen thief 7. 33hp, AC 2, THACO 11, 2APR. Arrows so criticals only, probably better to backstab with dagger of venom but would need a critical again.
Jaheira, fighter 5 druid 6. 43hp, AC 0, THACO 14, 1.5APR. Bullets so criticals only.
Viconia, cleric 7. AC -5, 37hp, THACO 14, 1APR. Criticals again.

The obvious mistake was not to protect Minsc by sending him berserk but I had a feeling he'd carve the party up instead (he's more like the berserking sword than Korgan, all an enemy has to do is get chased into the party before dying and Minsc will start on whoever is closest).

Nice analysis Gate70. By melee at least, Detman could carve you guys up. As an undead hunter I am immune to holds, though not commands or horrors, so his success is by no means certain. Would be a fun fight, too bad we can PvP in BG lol.

You could if you really wanted to - just start a multi-player game and let the argument commence :)

Update for Paragon and his power party

Normally once I reach Baldurs Gate with a solo character they have already been at XP cap for a while and I don't bother with many encounters.  This time, with the party still not close to their caps, there was more reason to and Paragon undertook all the quests and encounters in the city.  Only thing left at this point is to explore the Iron Throne building.

Most encounters were pretty easy.  Here are a few highlights:
- the ogre mage in the sewers had quite a few pets and Exos borrowed Spiders Bane for a while to help fight them off.
- Vay-ya in the Low Lantern had her illusions dispelled by Jack and then was stunned by the last of Exos' darts.
- Ramazith wasted time using a detect invisibility spell and I expected that to be the end of him.  However, he seemed to have an inordinate number of stoneskins and also ignored Exos' wizard slaying ability in managing to get a couple of spells off (though they didn't help him).
- normally I just kill the mage's daughters guarding the components the Halruuan wants, but Jack was so successful in hiding and stealing that Paragon let them be.  I had forgotten that one of them had a necklace of missiles so the party now has more of those than they can use!  On reporting back to the Thieves Guild the party was a bit slow in getting into action and Narlen claimed the kill.
- a use of invisibility 10' allowed the party to sneak up on Marek.  They were all set to pour in firepower when Jack forestalled them with his best backstab to date.  As Marek died without talking that broke the quest line and I had to change a global variable to turn the poison off.
- the only hard fight in the city was against Degrodel.  The party had already taken damage against his minions when I chose the wrong conversation option with him and got into an unexpected fight.  By the time Degrodel was eventually finished off 2 of the party were dead.
