@Grond0. Thanks, I decided to let Imoen do the hard work after 3 surges in a row. Good job too as he only had buffs and fireball left. Edwin had 4 mm's left and 3-4 other spells so looking forward to BG2, particularly when Imoen dual classes too (either in no-reload or minimal reload thread as I intend to run this one to the end).

Also I am curious about the debate you had about the CON tome. How did you resolve it? Did someone threaten to involve their mafia friends or what?

Nawgrim/Gate70 and Peer/Grond0. Session 6 (run time 1h45. Total 9h)
Varci Roaringhorn gives Peer a large shield +1, +4 vs missiles.
Sunin is made to hand over a ring of wizardry.
Thaldorn has a quiet conversation with a sanctuaried Peer.
Duke Eltan sends us back to Candlekeep.
Koveras gives us a magical ring of protection +1.
Gatewarden arrests us for the murder of Rieltar. Framed.
Tethtoril teleports us to the secret library.
Peer uses a scroll of protection from magic then a potion of cloud giant strength to loot a tome of wisdom, ring of fire resistance, and a few other items. He reaches another tomb to loot, but finds he can't cast DUHM while under the magic protection spell.
Some discussion here with concerns that the final tome is locked away from us. Eventually we decide the scroll lasts for 10 rounds, as does the potion which was glugged a short while after the potion was cast.
10 long long rounds later Peer casts DUHM and breaks open the tomb to retrieve the 8th and final scroll.
Silver lining postscript. This has identified a flaw with my end-game plan, not sure if it affects how Grond0 intended so will need to discuss. Can see a way around my issue but may be a better solution.
Prat and gang fall to a fireball melee combo, with Peer protected by two spells.
We could sanctuary/invisibility past two greater basilisks, but a green protection from petrification scroll would be wasted. Nawgrim protects Peer and we kill the basilisks.
Slythe is out-meleed and magic-missiled.
Sarevok is thwarted at the coronation with both Belt and Liia surviving.
Winski is waiting for us at the end of the thieves maze,, but is in no state to fight. We call it a night, intending to sneak past Rahvin and his gang at a later date.
Peer, fighter 7 / cleric 7.

@Corey, Squishy group: I think so, have dumped Minsc and Jaheira so dungeon could be tricky. Viconia is an excellent BG1 tank (and I ran a lot of games with her in this role 2-3 years ago so knew what she could do) but a bit fragile in BG2 where she can be one-shotted. Thinking I could do with some serious melee muscle too. Korgan is the obvious choice but I used him last time so thinking of other evil options.
There is always Anomen, the Chaotic Neutral (fail his test)... I can't stand the guy myself but he does have Fighter hit points and better weapon options.

Resting would have removed the strength potion and we only packed the one, DUHM from 18 STR wouldn't get to the required 24. Planning eh. Edit: & that's what happens when you start a response then go have tea, Grond0 nips in
I like the Anomen idea, will have a think about WIS 10/14 and could prioritise the gauntlets of dexterity.

Rahvin can wait. We're invisible and sanctuaried.
Tamoko is absent.
We check, nothing has been forgotten, overlooked or missed. Game on.
Sarevok is fast eh. Nawgrim has used a scroll of protection from magic on Peer. The dwarf waits while the gnome deals with a drink problem (potions of mind focusing, fire resistance, heroism, absorbtion, invulnerability and an oil of speed.
Peer wanders around in his boots of speed, irritating Sarevok and his cronies. Nawgrim has moved up the left side but requires two arrows to dispel haste on Sarevok.
Nawgrim targets Angelo next and Peer hammers the life out of him but takes some hits in return as Sarevok and Tazok wallop him. He takes a bit more damage than intended.
Aside. Did we check everything?? Grond0 realises his clockwork mouse needs winding up again as Peer refuses to respond. Gate70 waits patiently, his ancient stringy mouse at the ready. Grond0 upgrades to batteries +1 and our action continues.
Peer circles our enemies as Nawgrim de-buffs Semaj. Peer has glugged a blue potion and attacks again. Semaj is quickly hammered into oblivion before Nawgrim can target magic missiles.
Peer loops around again while Nawgrim casts greater malison. Tazok saves but Sarevok does not. Nawgrim adds slow and then starts dispensing his 11 sets of magic missiles interspersed with arrows of piercing.
At this point I failed to keep track of who killed who.
Tazok is next to fall, then a battle horror that Peer has invited to the party.
Sarevok takes a series of arrows, magic missiles and hammer blows before finally collapsing to the floor.
We make our way back to Belt to tell him it is over. I'm writing this journal while speaking to three captive nymphs....but that's a story for another night.

After shoping in Ulgoth's Beard (Greenstone Amulet, Cloak of Displacement, Wand of Heavens and some spells) Band rescued Viconia and invited her into the now fully complete Crew. Joined forces then cleared coastal areas, tied up some loose ends and finaly went into the mines:

Whilst Mulahey was no threat even in SCS (or may be we just were lucky), Nimbul proved to be a worthy opponent (MGoI, Mirror Image, StoneSkins prebuffs, Enfeeblement and Blindness on Khalid and Viconia) but he also fell to skeletons swarm and amnish guards. Jaheira toasted Neira and Dynaheir magic-missiled frightened (by Imoen) Tranzig:

Before storming the Bandit's Camp Grim Face recharged his trustworthy machine-gun (Wand of Fire) and Necklace of Missiles, which obviously helped a lot. Main tent fight went smooth as sail cos Imoen mastered her frightening skills:

Still under minor spell deflection buff Dynaheir detraped the chest with documents and now The Crew are on the way to the Cloakwood.
Current state:
Grim Face, Sorcerer 6 (lvl1-Shield, Sleep, Blindness, Magic Missiles; lvl2- Mirror Image, Web; lvl3-Skull Trap), 269 kills, Doomsayer
Jaheira, Fighter 5 / Druid 6, 261 kills, Sirine
Khalid, Fighter 6, 438 kills, Greater Basilisk
Imoen, Thief 6 (inactive) / Mage 5, 75 kills, Winter Wolf
Dynaheir, Invoker 6, 23 kills, Tranzig
Viconia, Cleric 6, 27 kills, Ghast
to be continued...

The first iteration of Coremonk got wiped out by a winter wolf ambush. So I re-rolled him, and then got experience until he was level 3. THEN I did Minsc's quest and lo and behold, Coremonk survived! Hence entering him into the Trilogy no-reload challenge.

His initial start was a bit bumpy. He wanted to recruit Khalid and Jaheira right away, but he knew in EasyTutu (er forgot to mention: setup is EasyTutu no mods, Core rules at all times and gore on) the going to FAI is rough, so temporarily recruited Montaron and Xzar. We got way too many enemies in the area between FAI and Beregost,

I had to use everything I had to keep everyone alive, lots of heal potions, and lots of magic missile wand charges, but amazingly the party prevailed.
I got to FAI, rested and dealt with Tarnesh. Then kicked out Montaron and Xzar and picked up Khalid and Jaheira. Thanks to the ring of wizardry sale, we were able to equip Khalid and Jaheira with plate mail. Then we headed to Nashkel...
It went pretty uneventfully, then we recruited Minsc and dealt with Neira. Neira managed to kill Khalid, so resurrection time. Before helping Minsc, I wanted to get a few more levels for Coremonk so he could survive the possible ambushes, so we headed to the area just east of Candlekeep. This went well, except Khalid got eaten by a bear - resurrection time again. We got the belt from the ogre nearby by having Khalid run in a circle while the people with range weapons unloaded.
Finally got level 3 for Coremonk, we then headed straight to the gnoll fortress. This went pretty smoothly, but just when we were fighting our last enemy, the carrion crawler held Imoen and killed her rapidly, despite Dynaheir trying to save her with magic missile scroll. Another resurrection...
Nevertheless, the party returned to Nashkel, raised Imoen, and we are ready to continue our adventure...

Coremonk and gang tried to clear the area just south of Beregost - but the ghasts kept killing my front-liners. It was good experience, but thanks to the resurrection costs, just not worth it. So instead we worked on the Nashkel Mines problem first.
But actually we had to deal with Greywolf first. Dynaheir did blindness (which connected) and haste potion on Khalid - it was all moot, however, as Minsc got a critical and finished Greywolf.
The mines went pretty smooth..well at least until we got to Mulahey. Yet again the frontliners got held (good thing Coremonk using his sling at the moment) -- Jaheira helped a little by entangling the minions - this allowed Khalid to live, but it wasn't enough to save Minsc. Minsc wasn't chunked though. It did mean though we were done looting, as we had to loot Minsc's equipment.
We headed to the carnival to sell and rest. Then we headed to Nashkel to report to the mayor the good news, as well as raise Minsc yet again...
We met an assassin named Nimbul. Jaheira had the foresight to resist fear and bless before the battle. Minsc and Khalid meleed while everyone else ranged attacked. Khalid got hit with one set of magic missiles, then Coremonk got a critical despite Nimbul's mirror images being up and slaughtered Nimbul.
The party rested and is considering their next move, likely the contact at Feldeposte's will be our next stop.

While clearing the area near Beregost Temple Imoen obtained level 5. Our intention is to dual her at level 6. This means I need to head to bandit camp straight away, so we can use her thief skills before she duals.
So in the vein, we headed to Larswood. We encountered a crazed druid who blamed us for his fellow druids' deaths -- we had not choice but to slay him. We saw another druid battling a bear, so we helped him kill his bear and talked to him. The druid (Carsome) admitted that he needed our help and proceeded to attack us. The party concentrated fire...but then Carsome got behind a pillar and the ranged attackers couldn't hit him! Uh, oh - yep sure enough Minsc and Khalid got held! Coremonk moved up, as 3rd string melee, activated his stunning blow...and got held! Uh, oh, and now a cave bear is headed directly for Coremonk! And Carsome is still alive and right nex to Coremonk! The remaining party members only had seconds to act, and so in desperation, Dynaheir cast web, AT OUR OWN PARTY, ON PURPOSE, which resulted in the following situation:

That's right both enemies and the entire party is webbed! And the fighters in the party are also held to boot, as if webbed isn't bad enough! Nothing to do but wait...Dynaheir broke out of the web a few times, and eventually killed Carsome with burning hands...then the party members, when they got unstuck concentrated on the bear. The fighters are still held. Jaheira tried to heal Coremonk, but she failed her save vs. web a lot. Uh oh, the bear broke out of the web and attacked Coremonk! Coremonk finally broke free of hold persons and web, and this was situation:

If this were vanilla, Coremonk would certainly be dead - but it's not and he's a monk! So he used his monk speed and managed to run away! I was curious just how close to death he was so took a screenie of his life total - as you can see, hard to get much closer to death...

Later on the same map, Dynaheir got slaughtered by some archers. Time to resurrect her and sell. We came back and joined the bandits and they led us to their bandit camp. We looted the place blind.
As for Tazok's tent, the hobgoblin archer slaughtered Dynaheir again - poor girl, we just don't have the cash for the robe of the good arch magi yet. We did avenge her death, however. We were full after looting the tent, so headed out to sell again.
We returned to the bandit camp once more, only because we need that full plate Khosann is wearing. We positioned ourselves to the left of the tent under Tazok's tent. Jaheira opened with entangle to the left, Dynaheir web at Khosann's position and Imoen a bottle of explosions (obtained at this very camp!) to the left. Next round Dynaheir webbed again to the left.

Then the ranged party members just got to work. This went very smooth...full plate to Khalid.
Glad the run is still going, but didn't mean to cut it so close...Ulcaster School will likely be our next target, to use Imoen's thief skills while we still have them.
