Nice going Serg - keep it up!

After an early failure in BG2 I ran Czarina, another berserker, through BG1.  I started off thinking I would try it as a speed challenge, but a berserker is not really fitted for that.  Also work commitments meant I didn't have time to try it as a single uninterrupted run.  Still, a total time of 2 hours 16 mins to deal with Sarevok wasn't bad.

The run was similar to the previous one, though with most of the minor encounters cut out - fewer than half the kills of the previous attempt.  Points of interest were:
- attacking the first group of sirenes in the lighthouse area at level 6 Czarina couldn't finish the third one off before rage expired, but was still able to do the job while confused (getting to level 7 as a result).  The extra half an attack made the second group of sirenes no trouble and the golems also fell to a single rage.
- a web trap triggered in the cloakwood just after an ettercap attacked (it's annoying the way they do that even when you don't move) and Czarina had to save against poison while stuck in the web.
- arriving at the Candlekeep catacombs I realised something was missing.  Without a scroll of magic protection I went for the potion of magic blocking instead.  It's quite impressive just how much you can do in 5 rounds (about 3 of them with potion of speed active).  In this case Czarina was able to loot all 3 tombs and scoot back across the lightning trap before the potion expired.
- potion of magic shielding protected her against the party in the catacombs and would have done against the basilisks, but she whipped past them too quickly for them to target her anyway.
- for the final battle against Sarevok I again belatedly noticed that I was missing a bit of my usual equipment as I had no means to fireball him from out of sight.  However, an arrow from extreme range (beyond the point his conversation is triggered) performed the same job of pulling him out alone and helpless.
- final stats shown below.  As with Czar, Czarina is rather low on HPs - let's hope she does a better job of looking after them.

I do get tempted to take a run everytime the activity flows here, Alesia_BH :)

Currently the only game that I have found myself playing is Civilization 5, they don't make classics like BG anymore.

It is great seeing the runs can be so different in strategy and style considering people play the same groups. Also, I am impressed to see the shapeshifter accumulate more kills than the Archer for some groups .. a bit eye opening =]

Grats on your successful run, Grond0. Would advise not trying to do a speed run in BG 2, but it's your game...

Another day, another berserker starts on the long road.

Leery has just completed BG1.  I got a bit blase with her midway through and she nearly came to grief several times:
- not putting on Mulahey's boots made the lightning trap in the bandit tent more vicious than it should have been.
- Kysus & Rezdan put up a hard fight at the Cloakwood mine.  I was thinking here I might need to use the potion of magic blocking (wanted to keep it for Daveorn) when Kysus fell.
- I didn't intend to take on Hareishan, but she and all her guards activated this time.  That resulted in a nervous close-range encounter.  Luckily her lightning bolt got absorbed in Leery's flesh rather than bouncing around the walls.

No problems after that.  Just for a change I finished off Sarevok in melee.

I intended to manipulate XP at the end to finish with 161,000, but forgot the hidden 10% bonus given in BG2 so overdid it slightly.  As with both my previous 2 berserkers Leery finished with a disappointing 80 HPs at level 8 (average would be 88.5).

The Avatars: Chapter 1- Candlekeep to the Friendly Arm Inn

Preface- Well everyone, I’m pleased to report that the start save trick worked splendidly:  my version of our crew -which I have dubbed The Avatars- is now up and running. They have sojourned from Candlekeep to the Friendly Arm Inn and are awaiting passage to High Hedge followed by Nashkel.

I’m not sure why, but I’m really excited about this run. In fact, I don’t remember being this enthusiastic about a run since...well...ever. Whether it was reading so many versions of this party’s tale -or knowing that the characters were based on all of you- opening ussnorway's start save felt downright magical. I’m looking forward to seeing how the adventure ends (and hoping that ending won’t come too soon...).

My intention at this point is to cover the run as a first person narrative from the perspective of the bhaalspawn, Alesia. I may switch course later on, but for now I like this idea. If others find it interesting (or in the alternative annoying...) let me know. FYI: The first entry will be longer than the rest- I just felt like setting the mood. :)

Anyhoo, here they are: The Avatars. Wish them luck!

Chapter 1- Candlekeep to the Friendly Arm Inn

If there is one thing you must know about me -one thing at all- it is that I grew up in a library. A library. And not just any library, the stuffiest, fussiest, mustiest library in the Realms: Candlekeep (Yes: THE Candlekeep). Is it any wonder then that I’ve always dreamed of life on the road? Or that I’ve bonded of late with the new arrivals who harbor like dreams? Destiny has a fascination with contradiction: a girl born of books must live by the sword- it can be no other way. That is who I am: I am the girl who reads shadows and blades.

Before the Iron Crisis it was a lonely life for me here. There was Imoen -there has always been Imoen- but the two of us never clicked: Our visions were too different, our temperaments too conflicting- we could never truly be friends. But the “arrivals”: they were something else entirely.

The arrivals began with the Iron Crisis. They all had their tales, but the big picture was the same in every case: they were children of connected families sent to sanctuary here at The Keep in a time of turmoil. That’s not suppose to happen of course- not with Candlekeep’s hallowed rules and eternal mission. But people are people, and when times get tough all the structures and norms break down- it’s just nepotism and pull from then on out: Candlekeep is no different.

Don’t get me wrong, the arrivals weren’t stuffy blue-bloods: they just had a connection to The Keep of some kind. Like Grond for example. Grond’s family had sent their second son to Candlekeep as a reader years ago simply because there wasn’t enough inheritance for two. When Grond was born unexpectedly much later, they tried to send him as well but Tethoril wouldn’t have it. Grond’s brother held just enough sway though to get Grond in on a temporary basis during the crisis. Most of the arrivals had stories like that.

Now here’s the interesting thing. The ones who were sent here weren’t the homebodies: they were the ones who talked of leaving- the ones who longed to join the fray. They, after all, were the ones most at risk, and so they were the ones sent here. That is how Fate brought a diverse group of budding adventurers together in this most unlikely of places. There was Grond of course, the bold and yet insecure archer. Krimlor: son of a Dwarven merchant- an agnostic curiously touched by the divine and now compelled to find his path. Blackstrider: reserved for a Bard, but eminently skilled- seemingly destined for leadership. Pot: quiet, almost taciturn, and yet dependable and skilled- the truest of allies. And finally Cassia- the quirkiest creature I’ve ever met: a Gnomish Shapeshifter bonded to the Were-Cat form. I can't know what has made each of us long for adventure. But I do know it is what has bought us together.

And so when I learned that I would be leaving Candlekeep -and that Gorion's mysterious friend E. had prevailed upon Tethoril to release my new friends with me- I was not saddened: I was exhilirated. I knew my friends would be too.

I broke the news at Winthrop's Inn where the six of us often gathered to talk of adventure. My words were greated with shock and joy. Grond stiffened, puckered his lips, inhaled slightly, and then reached for his quiver- letting his hand gently rest on an arrows end. Suddenly self-conscious, he looked over and saw Krimlor standing proudly and stoutly with hammer in hand. He then followed suit- relaxing, nodding slightly, and flashing a slight grin.

Blackstrider and Cassie weren't as subtle. The two lept down off the ledge they had been sitting on and broke into song. In complete contrast, Pot suddenly seemed perplexed- deep in contemplation. Everyone else noticed as well and became silent- wondering what was on his mind. I nodded to him -encouraging him to share- to which he hesitantly replied: "Should we kill one of the guards for his armor? Or would that be evil?"  None of us answered. But I smiled at him reassuringly, and grasped his hand as I walked forward to hash out the details with my friends.

As soon as the conversation shifted from the general to the specific, we all realized how little we actually knew about the world of adventure- not to mention how completely unprepared we were. Grond had a quiver but no longer a bow: gnawed by a Were-Cat he claimed, but more likely broken in a failed re-tensioning attempt. Krimlor had a hammer but I haven't the slightest idea where is came from and it hardly looked like a weapon to me. The rest of us had no equipement at all- and but a few hundred gold pieces among us. We would be neophytes true: ill-equipped fledglings in a world laden with danger- sheperded by Gorion perhaps, but still far from secure.

It is ironic then that Gorion, the one pillar I clung too -the one whose presence promised some measure of safety- was the first one taken from us: slaughtered by an armored assailant.I and my friends could only run.

And run we did: From the Lion's Way to the Coastway and finally on to the Friendly Arm Inn.

Our first encounter happened on the Lion's Way- accosted by diseased gibberlings. I was nervous of course, but this was something -perhaps the only thing- that we were prepared for. My Sleep spell from neutralized most of them, a Command from Krimlor felled the last: we dispatched them in safety.
Image IPB

The gibberling encounter taught us our first lesson: we learned the value of stealth and therefore travelling at night. On the Coastway we let Grond scout under cover of shadows. And while a mission that ultimately uncovered a ring led to another conflict, the tactics from our first battle worked once again. We arrived at the Friendly Arm Inn soon after.
Image IPB

We are young. And we are all scared inside. But we are learning. Danger is upon us, but the road still calls.
Image IPB

Best,

A.

Note: No level ups to this point of course, combat statistics are hardly worth mentioning. I'll cover FAI to Nashkel soon

The Avatars: Chapter 2- Friendly Arm Inn to Nashkel

While having no clear purpose at first -and inspired only by intuition- our trip to the Friendly Arm Inn was edifying and rewarding: We had learned valuable lessons and -shockingly- had uncovered a pair of immensely valuable rings. Lean of experience though we are, we are now prosperous due to fortune. Our finds seemed incredibly fortuitous- providential even. I asked Krimlor if he had a theory: He shrugged.

On the grounds of the Inn we learned more about the Iron Crisis than we had at The Keep. The Nashkel Mines are a regional focal point it seems and, therefore, a likely place for a young adventuring troupe to find work. Its distance from the site of Gorion’s assassination- and hopefully therefore our would-be pursuers- was appealing as well. The journey would be long, and it would be dangerous, but the destination seemed worthwhile. We prepared as well as we could. And while we hardly felt ready, Tymora heard our prayers.

Acting on a tip heard at the Inn -and on intelligence gathered by Grond- we succesfully recovered a Girdle of Piercing from a hermetic Ogre. Grond's nightime pathfinding -and Krimlor's Command- were once again the keys to our success.
Image IPB

Travelling south to Beregost, we discovered a seller of magical items at a place called High Hedge. We sold the ring we had found on the grounds of the Friendly Arm Inn and acquired a Wand of Sleep, two Potions of Freedom, and 2 scrolls of Invisibility. We then used our wand to complete a pair of minor quest- ridding a home of spiders and uncovering the fate of a fallen merchant.
Image IPB

By this time we had developed a method of safe travel. Cassia -equipped with the Ring of Protection and the Girdle of Piercing- journeyed ahead of us carrying the Wand of Sleep. Upon seeing foes, she discharged the wand and then called in Krimlor to Command any that remained standing. The rest of us then moved in to finish with our ranged weapons. We arrived in Nashkel having sustained no injuries.
Image IPB

Since arriving in Nashkel we have received our first major quest: we have been asked to restore order to the Nashkel Mines. Thrilled though we are by the prospect, we all acknowledge that we are far from ready for such an undertaking. Our task now is to build our resources and capacities: Heroism in the mines will have to wait.

Best,

A.

 The Avatars: Chapter 3- Minor Quests South of Candlekeep (Part 1)

We expected to find work in Nashkel. But we were dizzied by the options available to us. Upon a moments thought , it made perfect sense though: the Iron Crisis has radically increased demand for adventures. And so even novice troupes such as us can find work. Eventually, workers displaced by the depression will seek work on the road, but for now it's boom time for anyone with bow and blade. We are lucky I suppose.

Of all the options we heard -of everything I considered- it was perhaps unwise of me to accept Grond’s idea of clearing the wilderness east of Beregost of the wizard Mutamin and his basilisks.

The cause was dear to Grond: Mutamin had upset the balance of the wilderness pursuing a personal endeavor of pride and cruelty- a garden of petrified adventures. This seemed far beyond our capacities, but Grond’s reasoning intrigued me. With the profits from the sale of our ring, we could buy a Protection from Petrification scroll and a Necklace of Missles. Those items would allow one of us (Grond of course) to dispatch the basilisks in safety. Surely the six of us could then take on the wizard.

I had questions about the first part -and the last part seemed dubious-- but he spoke with such conviction: I had to let him try. I’m sorry I did (Or am I?).

Grond succeeded in destroying four basilisks, but he was detected by the wizard before he could fell the rest. He was forced to quaff the Potion of Invisibility I stole in Beregost and retreat.

Image IPB

Destroying four basilisk is an amazing accomplishment for an archer with so little experience. But in the end, we were left with little to show for our investment. We had consumed a Protection from Petrification scroll, seven Necklace of Missle charges, a Potion of Healing, and a Potion of Invisibility and had naught but paltry gems and unfinished business to show for it. Grond’s plan had failed, and I had failed us by listening to him.

Or so it seems. But I can’t help noticing that we became wiser in our attempt even if we can’t be said to have succeeded. I feel invigorated by what we accomplished even though we failed to achieve our goal: Success in failure-providence once again it seems. I’m not sure what to make of this. Krimlor remains silent.

Best,

A.

Grond0/Gate70 multiplayer attempt 11: Sati (Grond0, protaganist) and Vurro (Gate70).

It's been well over a month now since I reported that Sati and Vurro were on their way down to see Daveorn - see http://social.biowar...65/269#15301611.  Connection problems have prevented further progress since then, despite many hours of our (or at least Gate's) best efforts.  However, Gate's use of a windows laptop running Gameranger has eventually allowed us to see each other again.

In the meantime I inadvertently destroyed our last save so the start of this session involved facing Hareishan again in the Cloakwood mine.  As last time Vurro manned up with a direct assault, which quickly killed the caster, but this time he had to use several healing potions while dealing with the remaining guards.  Sati tried to help, but ended up being chased by a couple of guards herself while badly wounded (I belatedly remembered that as I am running the protagonist it might have been a good idea to use a potion or two myself)!

After resting, progress was quick down to Daveorn.  After pulling back and killing the 2 horrors Vurro rushed Daveorn under the protection of a magic blocking potion, while Sati stayed back watching admiringly.

In the city progress was generally fairly serene as the duo picked up the various tomes, Balduran's Helm, Varci's shield and the Eagle Bow.  The only worrying moment was in getting the gauntlets of ogre power when Vay-ya got a confusion off.  However, Vurro hastily moved back a bit and Sati kept firing at Vay-ya while confused to stop her trying any more tricks.

Vurro continued to pull back on the early lead Sati had in kills during that session.  However, Sati's recent acquisition of the Eagle Bow is a major enhancement so who will end up with most kills in BG1 is still wide-open.
Vurro, cavalier 7, 74 HPs. 187 kills (37 this session).
Sati, archer 7, 60 HPs. 197 kills (27 this session).

The Avatars: Chapter 3- Minor Quests South of Candlekeep (Part 2)

At The Keep my life had never been touched by death. Now on the road but two days, it has been touched twice. Fortunately the most recent one wasn’t permanent: I owe an apology to a were-cat however.

After arriving back in Nashkel, we took one of the more modest jobs we had been offered: rescuing a Northern mage imprisoned by gnolls. This wouldn’t be easy -not by any stretch- but having felled gibberlings and xvarts, ogres and basilisks, gnolls seemed within our capacity now. And so it was: we defeated the gnolls with little difficulty. Getting there and back proved to be the tricky part however.

We first encountered a group of ogrillions. Lulled to sleep by Cassia, they were then slain- one was even killed by Pot in melee.
Image IPB
Pot has, sadly, been the least involved member of our group. I well know that it takes a mage time to discover his power, but the problem isn’t his spells: it’s his weapons. He insists on using throwing daggers. They are heavy, they are expensive- and we are no longer rich. I asked him why he doesn’t use darts like me or even slings: he couldn’t really answer. It is his choice to make though and I suppose I just have to accept it. Some day -hopefully- we’ll be able to afford his whim.

Next we rescued a skittish nobleman from a mountain bear: my Blindness spell won the day for us. We have Cassia’s kitting to thank for the opportunity.
Image IPB
At the Gnoll Stronghold Cassia proved heroic once again- tanking at a choke point while wearing the Girdle of Piercing and using the Wand of Sleep to good effect. She was injured but once: I healed her with new-found powers.
Image IPB
My confidence in Cassia reached dangerous heights when she tanked a pair of Winter Wolves aided by the Boots of the North and a Potion of Cold Resistance. The time of her fall -or more precisely my fall- drew near.
Image IPB
It happened in the Cloud Peaks. Fighting two brutes at the behest of a Dryad, I casually allowed Cassia to tank rather than kite. She was pleased with the chance to brandish her claws -and she was well armored enough for the mission- but what I neglected to notice was just how frail she is. I look frail- and I am frail. Cassia looks fierce in her were-cat form, but she is actually frailer than I am (11hp). She fought well, but was then killed by a single mace strike.
Image IPB

We eventually defeated the clods -and garnered praises from a thankful dyrad- but the memory of the harm I caused Cassia will remain with me. I hope to never let my friends down like that again.

Best,

A.

(Gaming Side Note: Cassia’s death was foolishness on my part. Cassia was a few EXP points away from a level up that would have put her in a position to tank with some margin of safety. I let her start tanking one encounter too early out of laziness. Apologies ussnorway!)

(Gaming Side Note II: Something peculiar happened with the Tome of Leadership and Influence: It raised Alesia's Constituion in addition to her Charisma. I can of course remove the extra con point via near infinity, but I'm curious as to why that happened: any thoughts on that?

The Avatars: Chapter 3- Minor Quests South of Candlekeep (Part 3)

In the wake of Cassia's death and subsequent revival, I found myself inclined towards caution- perhaps over caution. My companions noted the lack of ambition within me following Cassia's fall and sensed what was wrong- eventhough I did my best to hide it. Ultimately they prevailed upon me to set our sights higher once again: we chose to protect the sculptor Prism from the bounty hunter, Greywolf.

Truthfully, I suspect a plot here. I am a rogue -and I am a thief- but if there is one vocation I truly despise it is bounty hunting. For some reason, people who meet me assume that I would be comfortable with bounty hunting. In fact, in Nashkel, the contact Oublek mistook me for a bounty hunter: must be the name he said- apparently a bounty hunter named Alesia has passed through here before. That is not me though. And I have little tolerance for those who would hunt others- depriving them of their liberties- in exchange for mere coin. My sympathies lie with the artists of the world- despite my life in the shadows. My companions knew this, and therefore knew this mission would motivate me- that is why they presented the case so forcefully. I suppose I could be vaguely uncomfortable with the implication of a plot to manpulate me, but I choose to see it differently: I choose instead to thank my friends for trusting me, for understanding me, for inspiring me. I am proud to be among them once again, and hope to do them justice as their companion.

Protecting Prism from Greywolf proved simpler than I might have imagined: Simultaneous Blindness spells from myself and Pot deprived him of his sight and made him easy-picking for our range weapons.
Image IPB

Reinvigorated by our success- and now understanding how empowering it can be to be trusted by ones companions, I decided once again to put faith in one of Grond's plans. This time I wasn't disappointed.

Grond wished to rid the Beregost Temple area of its tainted wolves. As before, this was a cause of conviction for Grond. And as before he had a plan. His research had revealed that the area was plagued by vampiric wolves that could only be destroyed by magical weapons, and could only be safely dispatched at range. With resources tight, it would behoove us to trust the arrows to the most accurate bow: that would be he -and he alone- of course.

I remembered the basilisks, but I chose to trust Grond. He came through. I was proud of him. And more importantly, he was proud of himself.
Image IPB

I am pleased with our recent successes. But importantly, I'm pleased to see us growing together, learning together: becoming one. We are almost ready for the mines: Heroism true is within our grasp.

Best,

A.

The Avatars: Chapter 3- Minor Quests South of Candlekeep (Part 4)

Just off his success against the vampiric wolves- and with some spare enchanted arrows in need of a home- Grond proposed yet another ambitious plan: looting the fabled Flesh Golem Cave along the Sea of Swords.

His plan would take him through dangerous territory- past Sirines and Carrion Crawlers and into a cave of legend. He had done his homework again, however, and I wished to voice confidence in him once more. And so I said yes.

His plan was to let Blackstrider cast Invisibility on him, then walk past the Sirines into the Flesh Golem cave. Once there, the range weapon-less Golem should fall to his arrows- assuming he stayed on the move. I warned him that he was too frail to safely complete such a mission in the narrow passages of the cave. And I warned him that we could no longer spare Invisibility resources on him: once in the cave he would have to rely on his stealth alone to keep safe and make it back past the Dryads. He understood all this, but he chose to proceed nonetheless.

Merely getting to the cave proved a challenge: We were forced to flee in our first attempt- with Blackstrider seriously imperiled.
Image IPB

Upon regrouping and returning, we prevailed where we once could do nothing but run.
Image IPB

It was then time to send Grond off on his mission. We equipped him with all the resources we could spare and sent him on his way. We later learned that he safely passed the Sirines and entered the cave.
Image IPB

We could not know what was happening in that cave: All we could do was wait. And so we did: We waited. And waited. And waited. Suddenly a vision flashed before my eyes.
Image IPB

We wondered what to do. I was at a loss, untill BlackStrider stepped forward.

Poised and in command, BlackStrider calmly explained that he was capable of retrieving Grond's body and completing the mission. He could cast Invisibility, rest, enter the cave, retrieve the body, dispatch the Flesh Golems, and then cast invisibility once again to make it past the Dryads. It sounded like a lot to ask of anyone, but BlackStrider demanded confidence. I let him go.

And he succeeded.

Image IPB

Grond, I have learned, is immensely talented and inventive in his plans- he remains the hero of our party. But there are times when he takes too much upon himself- pushes himself too far and lets the details slip. He must learn to adventure within himself. And I must try to show him the way- even as I stand in his shadow.

Best,

A.

NW: An inventory crash forced me to do this twice.The second time -the time that was saved- Grond succeeded. I've written about the first one simply because it makes a more interesting story.

Spelunking we will go;

We decided that a “Wand of Fire” & “Necklace of Missiles” combo would give us the edge against the Kobolts but the lack of a dedicated trapper meant that Cassia had to eat them in order for us to cross a bridge... Pot helped by casting 'Invisible' on her so that the Kobolts wouldn’t add their arrows in and that’s how our new tactics were born. Basically Cassia moved up all stealthy then Alesia brings the rain with her wand before they know what hit them... worked like a charm. The final three traps are nasty but we avoided them altogether by hugging the right hand wall as we descended the final stairs. Mulahey tried to start a parlay (obviously to buy time for an ambush) but Krimlor dropped him with a well timed ‘Command’ and that was the end of that!

Meanwhile back at the inn;

After resting up and talking the local drunkard out of suicide by adventurers we climbed the stairs to have it out with Tranzig ... as a test... Cassia decided to enlist extra help by casting ‘Charm Person or Mammal’ on Algernon but he turned hostile against us as soon as Tranzig touched him and our rep was badly smeared. We had to do a menial fetch and carry quest for a lazy old man named Firebead just so people wouldn’t start attacking us on sight. A nice looking guy named Sonner asked us to kill an evil Cleric for him but as it turned out the said Cleric was only a little girl and our party is finished killing innocence so we turned the tables on Sonner instead... as it turned out though, Sonner must have had powerful friends because no sooner had we informed little Tenya of his demise than a powerful party of bounty hunters ambushed us.

Close quarter combat is no time to be parsimonious so Pot fired off his final frost bolt (no loot) and we survived... well all except for Grond that is.

p.s. Gotta Love the fact that Photobucket now puts extra encryption into their photos which now means I have to do each link individually despite saying no thanks to their offer of a new trial service... fascism is alive and well it seems. :wub:

Nice updates. I vote for Kobolts being the SCS version of kobolds and the Photobucket changes don't impress me. It wasn't a quick site before and they've featured it up which makes it feel slower still - each link involves opening and closing an extra pop-up unless I've missed the obvious.

The ambushed;

Image IPB  Image IPB  Image IPB

After paying to have our brave Archer returned to us we decided to adjust our travel preparations for a while and sure enough more bounty hunters showed up at the next map crossing but this time we were ready and a simple retrograde motion allowed us to safely dispatch them with fire... Pot still died but that’s par for the course these days.

We ambushed the ambushers;

The new SCS calls in the reinforcements so we decided to slow them down with ‘Entangle’ from Cassia and repeated area effect spells but one elite bandit did managed to sneak up on our flank to get a shot off which killed Pot again... naturally.

Image IPB  Image IPB  Image IPB

After stuffing everything we couldn’t carry into one of the camps containers we trekked off to have Pot raised and returned for a second load which financed a new toy for Krimlor and recharged the “Necklace of Missiles”... we were in the process of selling this extra loot when Blackstrider had a double epiphany ;
1. He can now cast ‘Horror’ as an enate special ability.
2. Perhaps we should work on improving our rep guys?

ps... Just had a interesting talk to Photoshop customer support and it appears that you now CAN elect to turn off their new scramble system by going first into privacy and then account setting... better late than never I suppose. :wub:

@Clarke_W, Welcome back. :wub:

Good deeds are us;

We rescued Samuel, gave Oublek his money back, helped save a Dryads’ tree and returned Drienne’s cat... Yes, yes very heroic but hardly worth a screenshot is it?

Here there be Spiders;

The SCS drop spiders wasted no time before greeting us but Krimlor proved able to tank them because with his new -7 armour score they can only hit him on a roll of natural 20. Unfortunately we needed the Frost wand from Centeol and she managed to kill Pot with it before our opening shots could stop her... Yes, what a surprise I know but more annoying was that Cassia died just as the dwarfs’ Heal should have saved her. O’well we stuffed the loot into the spider nest and trekked back to FAI again.

Note to self... SCS drop spiders spit web so keep Blackstrider equipped with the “Spiders Bane” in case of ambush.

Current location; deep inside Cloakwood Forest.
Blackstrider, blade 6, 92 kills. Seniyad.
Alesia mage 4 thief 5, 81 kills.Lendarn 2 deaths.
Grond, archer 5, 43 kills. Taugosz. 1 Death.
Cassia, were cat 5, 111 kills. Greater basilisk 2 deaths... despite the screenshot she stays in human form so that she can cast ‘Slow Poison’.
Krimlor fighter 4 Cleric 4, Greater basilisk 24 kills.
Pot mage 4, 21 kills. Battle Horror 9 deaths... I’m starting to think that having 50 plus sharp objects on his person might not be a good thing?
