Noora, half elf wild mage(still golden; assume dispel will remove at some point)
Ardrouine is helped and then Noora tries her luck against a trio of sirines. One sirine is skull-trapped but a second stands beside a skull to cast charm person - Noora is aura’d but saves (rolls 14 with save at 9) and LMD’s the sirine. A third sirine also casts charm person beside a skull, forcing a second save (also 14) and then manages to hit with a poison arrow. Noora retreats until the poisone subsides, heals slightly then tries a final skull trap. She decides to add another skulltrap but gets some
unexpected help instead, and a combination of distraction, collateral skulltrap damage and a LMD ends the fight.
This approach is far too risky (it should be OK but the vagaries of skulltrap mean enemies can often get away with standing beside them .As soon as an alternate level 3 spell is learnt Noora will ditch it as unsuitable for a no-reload). Two uses of invisibility see Sil, two more sirines and three flesh golems avoided, then she starts identifying the loot cached by Black Alaric.
Noora is by now travelling under invisibility with 24 hour duration, breaking her journeys down to this time whenever possible. A 1 day journey sees a gibberling ambush and a LMD
strangely allows her to escape from her attackers.
Time to investigate Nashkel Mine, using invisibility. A skulltrap clears three kobolds from a bridge while mirror images help avoid the two traps. A pair of spiders experience another
surge then Noora casts invisibility to rest and move on to skulltrap a larger group of kobolds. Two more skulltraps remove more kobolds and a third sorts out a ghoul.
A skulltrap and LMD remove four final kobolds, allowing Noora to scout out the final area of the mine. Another
surge means only one skulltrap can be laid, and a second
surge means the next rest is interrupted twice. Mulahey is greeted with a skulltrap and declines to move so Noora could kill him with two more but that would be unfair. Instead she drags him round a small pond and watches in frustration as he
barges past the other skulltrap (Red dot shows skull & oops, called him Bassilus there). She melees a skeleton to the ground then
skulltraps a group of minions. Three kobolds remain so Noora starts to melee but they trigger the other skulltrap and
explode.
Just Mulahey left, so Noora starts with an
over the horizon round the corner skulltrap. (oh dear, nothing suitable to stop his spells so will either have to run for the exit or cast invisibility if aura is clear). LMD disrupts his first spell, and the one after that. Same for his third and he panics. A fourth LMD is followed by chromatic orb (saved) and the penultimate LMD kills him.
Noora feels sorry for Xan, handing him his sword and a couple of spells to
learn fluff before sending him on his way. With 50% of the Amazons blinded Noora decides to try her luck. A lone skulltrap means only one sighted and one blinded bounty hunter remain and a second skulltrap
finishes them off too. Noora now has two empty level 4 spell slots so needs to go shopping. The Amazons have a pile of loot so the familiar has to walk flap around for now and some unidentified flame arrows are dropped.
After storing Joseph’s ring outside (can’t open the house door) a suit of armour is sold and Berrun Ghastkill takes the holy symbol of Mulahey. With 3 inventory slots left Noora returns for the flame arrows plus a longbow and splint armour. A rest to identify items is followed by a sale so the familar can be backpacked once more. Remove Fear and Shield are cast before approaching Nimbul, then a combination of
chill melee and LMD are used to end his life before he can lift a finger against Noora. More stuff to sell.
Noora, wild mage 7. 173 kills, Greater Basilisk.
