The only BG2 successes listed in my section were:
Wierdo - page 134
Anatole - page 136

Anatole has already been added.  Wierdo's introductory post, confirming BG1 has been completed and listing the mods used, is on page 40.

Couple of edits.

Sounds OK to me although at that speed I reckon we should sub-contract to Bondari Grond0 - does the man not sleep!!

We could link to the start and/or successful completion of each if there are so few, what do you thing THINK.

I've made a start, checking pages 151-173. Vessen is on page 151, while Enahul completes a SoA/ToB run on page 154 but mentions two earlier trilogy runs for which he has details if PM'd.

(won't be looking any more today so if Blind_Visionary fancies picking up from this point that's fine by me).

Wow! We've made quite a lot of progress already.

I'm glad we've confirmed that Weirdo's run was a trilogy: I thought that might have been the case. In fact, my suspicion that it was was what motivated this audit.

Just to make things easier for Corey, be sure to report any new runs you find in the format used for the master list.

EX.
Character: Alyssa
Race: Elf
class: Mage/Thief
Difficulty: Core
Notable mods: SCS for both BG 1 and BG 2, Ascension
Entered by: Alesia_BH

@Corey. I've noticed that we've added Weirdo: wonderful. Now we just need to add the mods to his entry. They appear below:

Notable Mods: BG1- aTweaks, SCS; BG2- aTweaks, Ascension, Randomiser, SCS II, Weimer Item Upgrades

@Everyone else. I quite like the idea of adding links to the initial and final posts on the master list. Ultimately, that's a decision Corey should make though since it would require additional labor as he adds new runs to the list.

For now, collect the links and hold onto them in your personal records.

Russell II entering Trilgoy no-reload challenge...

Yes, I love my paladins. I had a paladin before named Russell, so for lack of a better idea, I have named this character Russell II (Russell the second). Last time I had 5 paladins, this time I have 6, to better be able to handle chunked characters, as that was a big problem on my all paladin run that made it to Melissan (but failed). They might have been able to beat Melissan if they had full team.

Setup:
EasyTutu
Tales of the Sword Coast Expansion
Core Rules at all times
"gore" on (characters can get chunked)
no mods

Special conditions for this run:
All key story fights (Sarevok, Tree of Life fight, Hell, Melissan) will be conducted by paladins only. Non-paladin NPC's might join, but only on a temporary basis (quest, need NPC for help. etc.). Paladin NPCs can join permanently.

The Story:
Well, this is actually Russell II the second e.g., the first iteration was eaten by bears outside of Candlekeep. Fortunately I had made a save immediately after character creation so I didn't need to re-roll, but of course had to do the Candlekeep quests again. The 2nd time around I left the animals in the first area alone, and made a bee-line for Nashkel. This obtained us a plate mail and ankheg armor.

South of Nashkel we helped a "boy" get his dog. This got the party to level 2, so we headed to FAI to turn in Lendarin's stuff and get/sell the wizardry ring. Decided would invest in full plate for Hanna, and upgrade the rest of the team as funds allowed, this worked well.

We've cleared Gnoll Fortress, Krumm and his brother's area, Argain's area, South of Beregost, and Xvart Village. We have necklace of missiles and all party members  now have a magic melee weapon.

The party is level 4 and we are ready to press into the Nashkel Mines.

Pris, halfling kensai (first & final update)

Gate70 wrote...
Sounds OK to me although at that speed I reckon we should sub-contract to Bondari Grond0 - does the man not sleep!!

In between reviewing old forum pages in the wee small hours I quickly ran a kensai through BG1.  I wasn't entirely sure I wanted to keep her - in fact I considered switching to a wizard slayer dualling to thief, which I noticed I had tried before on one of the pages I read.  As a result I took a few risks with Pris, but she survived so I reckon she deserves her chance at BG2.

I didn't keep notes of her adventures, but the early stages were pretty well-worn territory, with most enemies being taken down by throwing axes.  Some screenshots taken during the later stages of her adventures follow:

- by the time she had reached level 7 she was at reputation 20 with plenty of money.  Purchases included the green amulet, which was used to defeat the sirenes.  I took a bit of a risk allowing her to go into combat with the golems - here's the last one exploding, with Pris possibly vulnerable to a critical.

- with the constitution tome in hand she went straight on to Durlag's Tower to get the tome there.  She had the ring of invisibility at this point, but chose not to use it as I wanted a bit more XP to get her up to 8th level before commencing the main quest.  The first battle horror fell quickly, but the second hung on grimly (as did Pris, who chose not to retreat).  She was definitely vulnerable to a critical at this point, but she was the one that got one.  Note that as with other recent characters I did not allow her the use of any healing or regeneration potions (or antidotes), though she was allowed to use her Bhaal healing power.

- approaching the Nashkel mine she was not quite up to level 8, but that was easily solved.

- Mulahey was taken for a wander round his pond, but never got the chance to say if he was enjoying the walk.

- similarly, Nimbul failed to speak - his boots proving no match for throwing axes.

- Tranzig was force-attacked and I thought he was probably a goner when hit with an opening kai critical.  Fortunately he survived that and was able to tell Pris the location of the bandit camp before being chunked.

- with Claw of Kazgoroth and Cloak of Dispacement equipped as well as Nimbul's boots the bandit archers were no problem.  Taugosz didn't appreciate the potion of absorption, but Pris was a bit disappointed to see that her firebreath potion only killed one of the main enemies.  Not to worry though - a single kai attack sliced through Venkt's mirrors and went on to chunk both the others.

- in addition to throwing axes Pris was using 2-handed swords and therefore wanted to get Spider's Bane.  She felt obligated to lug his brother's body back to Tiber, though that meant leaving most of her equipment in the spider nest in the meantime.

- at the Cloakwood Mine the mages fell to necklace of missiles fireballs.  I thought Drasus would struggle to get through another potion of absorption.  However, he hit Pris with 2 criticals in quick succession to nearly kill her again, before she struck the final blow.

- Pris used the ring to sneak down to Daveorn and then decoy the battle horrors away.  A potion of magic blocking protected her while she smacked the mage down.

- after collecting the tomes in the city without problems Pris sneaked through the Iron Throne and was sent back to Candlekeep.  She used a scroll of magic protection and storm giant strength to loot the tombs and then layered in a few more buffs to confront Prat and his gang.  They did not enjoy the reunion.

- potions were again in evidence against Slythe, who did fairly well to get 2 attacks in before becoming part of Pris's redecoration programme.  Although still slightly injured Pris chose to use the same buffs in the palace fight.  The dopplegangers put up a surprisingly poor fight here, with even Liia surviving.

- against Sarevok Pris drew him out with an axe attack.  His position was then tactically hopeless, with the main threat to Pris being that she had no lightning protection, so had to be careful not to run too far back and forth across the temple and trigger traps.  However, she made no mistakes and judged her moment well to come into melee.  Sarevok got one attack in, but a single whack from Spider's Bane sent him on his way.

- Sarevok was defeated this morning, but Pris still had to make it safely back to report into Duke Belt.  Remember when I said she had no lightning protection - probably would have made sense to be a bit more careful coming back through the maze then.  She took a potion of invulnerability after the first lightning strike which made sure that she would save for half damage from the second.  However, she was relieved to find that there was not to be a third.

Here's her character record on reporting in to Belt.

 Multi-player No-reload
Coretrue Level 7 Paladin (protagonist) 81 HP, controlled by Corey_Russell
Wewa Level 9 thief, 60 HP, controlled by Dogdancing

Coretrue and Wewa continue to make progress. Their initial objective this session was to end Davaeorn's threat once and for all. Wewa de-trapped the first 4 traps, then Coretrue charged Davaeorn, using only magic shielding buff. Coretrue was also wearing fire resistance ring and boots of grounding. Davaeorn tried a few fireballs, but that didn't stop Coretrue. He tried to hold Coretrue, but of course that had no effect (spider's bane). Wewa's arrows were taking a toll, and in fact Wewa got the kill shot. The duo was filled to the gills with loot, so we left the area, sold, banked and moved on.

The duo hadn't dealt with the 3rd tomb in the Valley of Tombs, so we did so. Coretrue took out these ghasts with the spider's bane. Wewa tried to backstab, but Coretrue was killing them too fast.

The duo need lots of experience still, so they decided to be a bit adventerous and headed to Durlag's Tower. Coretrue did heroism, fire resistance (scroll) and fire giant strength. Wewa did acid arrows and together they managed to clear out all the enemies on the surface.

Next the duo tried the inside. We only worked on the first two levels going up. Various ghasts were defeated easily enough, but the main event was the Durlag's friend, the ghost. The ghost jumped around and Coretrue was JUST about to activate his greenstone amulet, but got chaosed! Wewa saved and tried to use her arrows, but she had a really hard time hitting the ghost. Coretrue wandered around, an invisible stalker followed him but Coretrue killed it. Wewa stayed alive and eventually Coretrue shook it off, buffed with the greenstone amulet, and charged the ghost with his spider's bane - success! The duo can't loot anymore, inventories full, so cleared out and sold our junk.

The duo finally arrives in Baldur's Gate and obtains the DEX tome for Wewa, since that will her help her thief skills and range skills. Dogdancing's neck was hurting at this point, so the duo ended their session at Sorcerous Sundries.

Gate70/Grond0 Multiplayer attempt 19 - (first & final update)
Gambit, halfling fighter/thief (Grond0) & Roseblade, half-drowhalfling fighter/thief (Gate70)

This duo had started promisingly, but eventually fell victim to a communications error.
Image IPB
Image IPB

The majority of maps had been explored, with no deaths despite quite aggressive tactics.  The area where I remember having most trouble was when attempting to kill the bear troubling the merchant.  There is an encounter spot near there that is easily tripped and a few enemies spawned before we got to the bear.  Running round caused more to spawn ... and still more.  This was particularly a problem as Gambit was out of arrows, so relying on Roseblade's trusty sling.  However, the clean-up operation was eventually finished and the 50 gold reward from the merchant pocketed.

It was quite interesting trying out thief tactics for a bit, given that's something we've not used much in our runs.  Most backstabbing worked well, although we still needed to refine things to try and get simultaneous attacks.  Towards the end that was complicated as Gambit was attacking with the martial staff (speed 0) and Roseblade with Greywolf's sword (speed 3).  However, there were several occasions when dual backstabs worked nicely.  Here you would have thought Zargal would be a bit more cautious in his language given his companions had just evaporated in front of him.
Image IPB

Both characters were also playing with traps.  In the early stages Roseblade had not learnt much about this skill and was much more likely to hurt herself than enemies.  However, by the end she was becoming pretty adept at it.  One nice example was the main bandit tent.  Three of the day's four potential traps were successfully set and proved enough to kill everyone there - regrettably I missed the screenshot of them jerking under multiple impacts.
Image IPB

At the Cloakwood Mine backstabs were attempted on the mages.  Kysus went down, but Rezdan escaped.  That shouldn't have been a problem given that Gambit had the green amulet, ring of invisibility, potion of clarity, potions of invisibility ...  However, as she ran from Drasus she heard Roseblade shout that she would wait for Rezdan's mirrors to vanish.  She interpreted that as meaning that Rezdan had stopped chasing and turned to fight Drasus near the western edge of the map.  With Drasus at near death she decided to use the wand of magic missiles to try and finish him off - just at Rezdan turned up.  She tried to run and glug a last minute potion, but her aura was clouded and she was duly horrified.  From that point there was only ever likely to be one outcome.  Rezdan tagged her with an acid arrow and it looked to be a choice of whether she would die from that, a thumping from Drasus or a thrown axe from Genthore.  However, Rezdan stole more glory by ignoring a last minute attack from Roseblade and finishing things with an LMD.

@Grond0, Gate70 - tough break there guys. Two thieves working together sounds interesting. Based on your description Grond0, sounds like you were trying to backstab at the same time, but wouldn't placing each other opposite be easier to coordinate? E.g., Gate70 backstabs someone, that someone turns around to attack Gate70 now their back is to Grond0 and Grond0 then backstabs them again.

Interesting account regardless, thanks for the write-up.

Coretrue - level 8 Paladin, 94 HP (protagonist), controlled by Corey_Russell
Wewa, level 10 thief, 68 HP, controlled by Dogdancing

The duo gets their last levels of the game. All it took was Seven Suns quest, clearing the ogre mage/carrion crawler problem (used arrow of slaying on the ogre mage), wiping out mages on top of Sorcerous Sundries, Basilisk in the warehouse, Deserta and Vay-ya (divide and conquer), and last but not least Razamith's Tower. We are at our level caps (161,000 experience).

We did one more important task, and that was to pick-pocket Quenash's Cloak of Balduran for Coretrue, putting his AC  to -8

Only upgrades left to get is to do the poison quest for the shortbow for Wewa, and get the large shield upgrade from the Priest of Tymora.

Dogdancing was really physically tired by this point, so we saved in Beregost - our "bank" is a barrel there.

The only scary moment was the duo was going up Razamith's Tower and forgot the ghasts were next and neither duo member had free action items equipped. However the duo had the sense to pause and get their free action items active, and then there was no problem.

One kind of funny thing that happened was that after looting the mages on top floor of Sorcerous Sundries, we had a little trouble looting what we wanted (we are vanilla BG 1 so there are no containers). In an effort to free up a spot, Wewa equipped one of the unindentified rings - which was cursed! It dropped her DEX from 20 to 10. So the duo had to stop by Beregost Temple and pay 500 gold to remove her curse - not surprisingly, Wewa quickly dropped the cursed ring. It's worth 50 gp, but that's hardly relevant, as we have 74,000 gold and will get even more at Candlekeep.

We also tried that, disadvantage is that someone like Taugosz would be able to hit back as the first stabber has to stay rooted otherwise the second ends up chasing the enemy around. Much easier to co-ordinate in single player where micro-management isn't such an issue & pausing is easier. Also the unidentified sword said speed 5 so not sure which would apply, and I think Gambit may also have had pips in 2 handed style.

I've not been screenshotting much recently so also missed the bandit tent assassination, however I did snap a couple of after-effects to capture the progress.

Coral, LG female elf stalker
(Episode 1; Why stalkers shouldn’t be stuck inside reading romantic novels)Image IPB

** quarterstaff
* long bow
* two handed weapon style
(**) two weapon fighting

Gorion is worried; not only is my life in danger but he fears the containment within Candlekeep is affecting my sanity. Instead of foraging around he says I have become immersed in the library and my head has been filled with romantic “Foundry and Blessing” romantic novels. The very notion.

I shout for him to cast invisibility as we are ambushed but he is already dead, so I escape into the night alone. The next few days see me eke a meagre living out of the woodland, taking essential items such as a ring of protection, ring of wizardry and ring of Joia. Then I head south of Beregost and try to obtain some boots of stealth, but after three failed backstabs a dozen or so hobgoblins are gathered together and I kill the wrong one - they all look the same in the dark. After failing to hide several times I aim my bow instead and the second guess proves right.

Noober gives me the best experience of my life so far. I suspect he’ll tell more people about it than I will (+7hp).

Drizzt the tall dark stranger drow gallantly asks for my help so I shoot a gnoll that I’ve just backstabbed and drop a second too - I don’t think Drizzt is trying. I almost bag a third but he’s killed the rest and it chunks before my second arrow can connect. We trade a few words but my ardour is lost on him.

A brief encounter with Brage sees me leave him at the altar when he proves to be more attached to his sword than to me. Samuel is dumped at a second altar when I realise his excesses of the stag night are a portent of what is to become. Both took exception to my refusals, saying they had no such intent but I’ve read enough books to recognise denial on their part. Samuel in particular may have taken exception to my magical tyrst with Hafiz while he lay dying in my backpack, or even scared from my discussion with Mirianne on what a good husband should cover in a love letter.

I have to tell Joia I’m not that sort of lady nor into that sort of thing, and she covers her tracks by asking what I’m talking about. It’s a rather upsetting experience to be honest (+13hp, 2nd * in 2 handed weapon) and I stumble outside and hide myself away only to find Tarnesh standing outside the inn. Luckily for me he has memory problems and is repeating the phrase “Collect the bounty on Coral and pay off my debts”. A backstab spreads him across several steps.

Coral, LG female elf stalker
(Episode 2; From flightful romance to working for a living)

Coral has woken up to the fact that true love is not as written in books; rudely discovered when flirting with the delightful and considerate Khalid. His wife showed exactly who wore the trousers and how rival attention should be dealt with. Even two days later Coral is discovering insects in places she never knew she had and has decided to earn a crust instead.

She soon rejects the hardships of being a washerwoman; these pantaloons are going to take months to clean and, worse, she now knows where some noblemen keep their weasels. Instead she hits the road and finds she really likes saving chickens from wolves but there doesn’t seem to be much repeat custom there.

Thalantyr wants to experiment with the chicken and asks for a skull. Coral has one rattling around on her quarterstaff so hands that over and is amazed to see Melicamp transform. Thalantyr notes this response and suggests she become his lackey apprentice but Coral doesn’t fancy becoming a chicken or having to do dangerous work. There was one apprentice she read about in the library - he seemed to spend all his brief life in the infirmary while his step-sister sidekick always seemed to avoid a similar fate.

Caldo and Krumm are taught a lesson while the dryad suggests Coral become a troubleshooter (+10hp). There was nothing in Candlekeep about troubleshooting so Coral decides it involves backstabbling dire wolves and fishing cats out of waterfalls but draws the line at dancing with winter wolves after one bites her. Still, the pelt sells in Nashkel for a reasonable sum and at this rate Coral can soon start to pick and choose her jobs.

Coral, LG female elf stalker
(Episode 3; the accidental hero)

All Coral had meant to do was scare the worgs off and now Ardrouine was singing her praises. As for the final part, any fool would rescue Nathan for Farmer Brun (reputation 20), while the tome of leadership was all common sense apart from the bit between the covers.

(Episode 4; this page intentionally left blank, although it would read as below)

A reputation like this must be upheld though, so Coral purchases a greenstone amulet, cloak of displacement and quarterstaff +3 to maintain her appearance. A green scroll purchased at the carnival has instructions on how to reach a rock garden on the reverse and Coral heads there next only to find the many corpses of backstabilisks beside various convenient rocks with shadowy overhangs (+10hp, +4hp, to ** longbow). A gnomish mage called Mutamin took two backstabs without getting a word out too.

(Episode 5; the collectors edition)

Hoarding is the name of the game here, starting with a spare girdle (piercing). Potions of defence and invulnerability are grabbed as Silke takes a beating (two actually).

(Episode 6; a whodunnit)

Nashkel mine is the location but nobody knows quite how two huge spiders, two gray oozes and Mulahey met their end. Emerson insists a stranger called Laroc arrived to have a look around but nobody believes him. Anyway, the mine is back in business and the mayor is stumped as to what you call a ranger with 114% stealth (nothing, you can’t see her).

Appendix a refers to the details; where Mulahey was dragged around a lake and the decisive weapon speed allowed Coral to hide after a backstab and before Mulahey turns hostile. A second backstab is fatal.Image IPB

Nimbul is chunked after casting mirror image, horror (saved but a distance away and too late with the amulet yet again) and two sets of magic missiles.

(Episode 7; a tale of 4 potions - hill giant strength, heroism, clarity and speed)

Three sirines plus Sil and two more sirines take two backstabs and numerous hits.  Three flesh golems are hit and run victims, or at least two of them are as the first vanishes while Coral positions to attack - how unfair to hide away like that.

She turns to leave as Melicamp asks her how to make the thaumic circle crystalline run clockwise - try putting the cheese carrot on the other side of the miniature giant space hamster wheel? Or just ask Thalantyr.

(Episode 9; back to reality)

Meilum may be the master of swordsmanship but takes a lesson or three in chunky quarterstaff backstabs before Coral heads into Beregost for a vaguely fair fight with Tranzig. As the mage casts armour Coral hides behind the doorway and backstabs him into a scared and rejected submission, following up with an arrow and a second chunky backstab. All that is left of him is a magical ring, a wand and directions to the bandit camp.

(Episode 10; It's close to midnight, Something evil's lurkin'in the dark)

Coral is lurking more than the other lurkers and the bandit camp numbers are rapidly diminishing. Single backstabs account for 14 of them while 3 more (including Ardenor Crush) require a second hit and Taugosz Khosann takes three. Credus is slightly too quick to lose tonight so gets 2 whacks in the face instead.

(Episode 11; the day Venkt stood still)

For a mage this guy is reasonably hardy and Coral considers shooting an arrow of biting before hiding to backstab. Instead she attempts a double-tap and succeeds.Image IPB

Nobody follows her outside so Raemon is next for a backstab, slightly less vicious than Venkt (36 instead of 38) but enough to kill him. Again nobody steps outside - they’re damned if they do and damned if they don’t. Hakt is dropped with a 34 and the sylphlike Coral hides behind the central pillar to wait for Britik to soak up 28. She fails to hide behind the pillar so does a gentle circuit of the room to hide at the second attempt. She misses, hides and misses again then realises she’s picked the bow up from Hakt and is backstabbing with arrows. The next attempt is a solid 48 and far more than Britik can take.

Thalantyr is pleased with the regular supply of second-hand goods and asks if Coral wants favourable terms. Certainly, she replies. For starters have you got anything that will get rid of these blasted insects. Thalantyr isn’t certain so takes a look and proclaims that the bite marks are in a pattern resembling elven runes, if he’s not mistaken you’re covered in “stay away from Khalid”.

Coral already knew what the bites were spelling out and winces when she realises Thalantyr does too. She’ll pay extra if he can just sort it out. NOW! Pleeeeeaaaase.
