Congratulations Corey, that was fast indeed.

:D

Thanks! And indeed it was, might even be a personal record, entire BG 1 run in one day.

New entry, Dust, a dwarf Kensai

Baldr000_zpsca440684.png

Kit Revisions changes this kit somewhat, and the changes are:

Advantages:
- At 1st level, gains a pool of Ki he can use once per day to perform various abilities. For every 4 levels, the ability can be used an additional time per day. This ability improves significantly at levels 10 and 19.
- At 1st level, gains a +1 bonus to hit and damage with melee weapons. For every 4 levels, this bonus increases by +1, up to +5 at 16th level.
- At 1st level, gains a +2 bonus to AC vs. melee weapons. At 11th, 14th, and 17th level, this bonus increases by an additional +1.
- At 2nd level, gains a +2 bonus to weapon speed factor.
- At 15th level, can use Deathblow once per day.

Disadvantages:
- Cannot wear armor, gauntlets, or helmets, nor use shields.
- Cannot use missile weapons.
- Cannot use Offensive Stance.
- Cannot use Called Shot.

KI POOL: With this ability, the Kensai focuses his ki for a short time, allowing him to accomplish amazing feats.

KI POOL (KI STRIKE): With this ability, the Kensai gains +4 bonus to attack rolls for 1 round.
At 5th level, the Kensai deals maximum damage on each hit for 1 round.

KI POOL (KI STEP): With this ability, the Kensai can move at twice his base speed for 1 round.
At 10th level, the Kensai can position himself out of harm's way mere seconds before an energy discharge reaches him, and avoid effects such as breath attacks, fireball spells and the like.

KI POOL (KI DODGE): With this ability, the Kensai gains +4 bonus to AC for 1 round.
At 19th level, the Kensai can dodge or deflect all weapon attacks.

DEATHBLOW: When this ability is activated, for one round, the warrior takes a -4 penalty to attack rolls as she searches for the perfect opening. The first successful melee attack made in the round will instantly slay any creature who fails a save vs. death.

Since he cannot wear any critical hit protection up until Cloakwood, I powergamed a bit (solo is probably the easier way to play BG1), doing most of non-combat quests and returning Joia's ring. Also slain Marl after reasoning with him, which got Dust a level 2 and magnificent extra 15 HP.

Killing the Ogre with Girdle of Piercing + Beregost spiders (after buying 3x antidote in temple) got him up to 3rd level, where he got an extra 7 HP.

Delivered the Flaming Fist deserter back to FAI temple, and gotten Scroll of Magic protection from a kind gnome fellow.

Having 37 HP, it was time to kill of Ankheg infestation. Pre-buffed with Potion of Defence, an Oil of Speed, Ankhegs stood little chance; Dust managed to kill 5 of them before Oil wore off (lasts 1 turn with IR). He leveled up to 5 when body was returned to the farmer. (15HP for level 4 and 9 for level 5).

With such a HP pool, and in need of money, Dust traveled a long way south to kill Greywolf. It was a close call, Greywolf even managed to hit him with a critical, but after a brief run for healing Dust emerged victorious.

Baldr019_zpsd0062d5f.png

Further adventures included:

- killing Karlat

- helping out Silke (for 3 Defense potions, yay!)

Baldr023_zpsecf3752b.png

- returning Perdue's sword

- buying Greenstone amulet and killing Tenya

- rescuing a talking chicken (ressurection was a failure)

- killing Tarnesh

- aquiring bracers of defence AC6 from Khalid, a  nice surprise

- killing of the sirens (not Shoal) and aquiring level 6 (13 HP)

- killing Dushai

- almost dying to Battle Horrors ....

Baldr044_zpsc7e1d9d5.png

...but remaining alive at a cost of a lot of potions

Baldr046_zps16e9109a.png

Some basic exploration of Durlag's Tower (top floor Basilisks) netted Dust level 7 (9 HP).

Got lonely a bit, and decided it was high time to finish Nashkel mines.

Cost a lot of potions, but Dust got Mulahey's hide.

Baldr055_zpsfba6e4db.png

Adopted Xan (sorcerer). Finished off the amazons with Skull trap + melee.

Baldr061_zps7732ee1e.png

Baldr062_zps75f8d7a2.png

Gave the stole dagger to Revenant (no magical weapons to hurt him), and gotten Wand of MS.

Reported my success in Nashkel.

Killed Nimbul with Invisibility+Ki strike combo instantly.

Baldr065_zps92639e79.png

Adopted Viconia and Edwin, killed Dynaheir, managed to kill Mutamin despite his Mirror Images, and slain the rest of Basilisk w/o interferance.

Baldr082_zpsf540fcca.png

Lindin, Peter & co were hit by 2 Skull Traps, Dust cleared off 2 survivors easilly.

Baldr085_zpsb7cd83d9.png

We march to Bandit camp next.

Bandit Camp

We march straight through the front door invisible to the enemies. Drank Potion of Defence.

Ki strike connects twice, killing Venkt before his defences come online

Baldr096_zps5ae178a5.png

Few (bloody) rounds later...

Baldr100_zps1d42d62a.png

In Cloakwood we kill Aldeth, join Coran and kill of spiders (had to draw them outside to blast them with Skull traps). Centeol was slain instantly with Ki strike. Lot of potions used, since Dust is taking Skull trap damage as well.

Baldr112_zps437c65dc.png

Got "helmet" for Dust in Cloakwood (spider egg). I decided to let it hatch since I'm curious.

I left the druids be without fighting them, killed Coran's wanted wyvern, returned it's head, and (finally! these were long walks through Cloakwood with much ambushes) got to Cloakwood mines.

First we send some cannon fodder (Viconia's skeletons) to absorb the initial Charm/Confusion/random crap barrage.

Battle was still ugly - no armor is a pain to handle.

Drasus was taken down with magic missiles.

Baldr129_zps6c09f882.png

Xan's Web hold Genthore, giving some breathing room to Dust (he wears Greenstone, so enemy mages are reluctant to spend disables on him)

Baldr130_zps78a682e8.png

Some fast Ligtning bolts leave only Rezdan alive. Coran uses his Trip shot to slow him down, and it connects.

Baldr136_zps0a4c65d8.png

Fin of this horrible battle:

Baldr138_zpsa5cb716f.png

Mines and Davaeorn

We got in invisible, bypassing any and all guards. Dust used Pro Magic scroll, while the rest of the group remained invisible.

Horrors were slain first.

Baldr146_zpsdbab9a6d.png

Soon, guards start to enter through the door. Davaeorn was apperantly angry and a well-placed Sunfire fried his own troops.

Baldr149_zps1b280e71.png

In return, they block him, so he can do nothing but die.  :D

Baldr151_zps7b9707f4.png

Baldr152_zps357c7d44.png

Baldur's Gate awaits us.

First things first, so we gather some loot to sell:

- kill Desreta

Baldr160_zps65c1459c.png

- do some other minor stuff (Basilisk warehouse, kill Talos priestess)

- visit this amazing shop (magical katanas!)

Baldr166_zps7ae00d21.png

Where I spend 9k on this weapon.

Baldr167_zps0c7b3807.png

Back to powergaming, Xan lays waste on any enemy we encounter

Baldr107_zps7dfd414e.png

Baldr108_zps5d9622b3.png

Kill Ramazith in a single hit (he apperantly has no more than 21 HP)

Baldr175_zps22262ee1.png

Iron Throne

Again, we enter fully invisible. Tactic was to use Detonation arrows, run&hide, rinse-repeat. This worked out nice until Coran got targeted by a Flamstrike wand.

Baldr196_zps4a42ebca.png

He did manage to hurt the enemies, so Dust had an easier time mopping up the place.

Baldr200_zpse60abe2a.png

Baldr203_zps6e844b9c.png

Candlekeep

Killed off Iron Throne leaders with 2x Skull Trap and melee.

Baldr208_zpsacd76099.png

Prat

Dust wanted to solo this, but Prat got cocky and dispeled our invisibility. This cost Xan his life, but the battle was won regardless.

Baldr211_zpsbde1588e.png

Baldr215_zps83887700.png

Used up my last Potion of Mirrored Eyes to kill of the basilisks there, rasied Xan, returned to BG and gone invisible again, to tie up some loose ends, and buy a rather nice stock of potions.

Krystin & Slythe

Slythe was killed off in the 1st round, 2 hits were enough.

Baldr221_zps30b9fa8c.png

Krystin almost killed Dust with her summoned Ogres and Flame arrows, but we eventually got to her and her morale broke.

Baldr225_zps1deee34a.png

Baldr228_zps71b29707.png

Lot of big healing potions were used, and I'll probably be using Pro Magic scroll here in the future.

Coronation ceremony

All invisible, Dust goes Shaman first

Baldr230_zps1330c963.png

Greater ones second

Baldr232_zpsf0ae860a.png

Belt finishes of the Assassin

Baldr233_zps414c5dbb.png

Mage dies last

Baldr235_zps322a6418.png

No dialogue could be started, so Dust searches around and finds the last Dope whose morale broke and ran away.

Sarevok finale

Again, we abuse Invisibility to no-end, bypassing any enemies we encounter (I never even spoke with Tamoko :P ).

Enter the temple.

Tactic I wanted to use, same as my previous run, Coran to backstab everyone.

1st step:

Make the enemies waste spells on summons and start the battle.

Baldr244_zps69b0f1c0.png

2nd step:

Laugh as they die to Chaos/confusion castings.

Baldr249_zps1b472a4a.png

All went to plan for a while, until Angelo decides he doesn't want to die before he completely messes things up.

Baldr250_zpsf6b642fc.png

All invisibility spells are now removed from my party, and given that this spell lasts for a while (similar to True Sight) we can't use invisibility for several rounds.

So we fight. Xan's second attempt hold down Angelo (wand of paralyzation). Dust is attacking Semaj.

Baldr252_zpsb2002b8b.png

If you're wondering where is Sarevok, he's chasing Coran around the place.

Semaj dies. He, unlike many other mages, has an absurd number of HP.

Baldr255_zpse77cb0da.png

Coran dies in return, Diramid's arrows are too accurate and too damaging.

Baldr256_zps87635510.png

Edwin almost dies when Angelo finally turns into the skeleton. Sarevok is coming to kill us all. :o

Baldr257_zps5ad605f7.png

Gulp! Edwin's safe.

Baldr258_zpsa73fea5a.png

Dust goes to work on Tazok, since Sarevok is too busy killing skeletons.

Baldr259_zps7c3202c9.png

Apperantly, the "egg helmet" dissapeared, leaving Dust w/o critical hit protection. Be that as it may, I still wanted to see the spider hatch from it. Maybe a bug, but we fight on.

Baldr260_zpsf8b31737.png

Edwin tried some magic missiles on Sarevok, but I forgot about Diramid. Teh Red wizard dies.

Baldr262_zpsaabfdd32.png

While Viconia's skeletons hold Sarevok for the time, Dust dustes off Diramid. No more arrows will be fired this day.

Baldr263_zpsa0d569f1.png

Mano a mano, Viconia uses her Defensive Harmony so that Dust gains the edge here. Unfortunately, this hit proves just how much critical hit aversion is important.

Baldr266_zps5a18ddcc.png

Sarevok kills Xan through his Mirror Images. Shame, shame, he wanted to give dust some breathing room. Sarevok is in near death state, however.

Baldr267_zps87ee773b.png

5 hits, 2 potions and a Cure medium wounds spell later, Sarevok is no more.

Baldr268_zpse368bb55.png

Dust will be entering BG2 No-Reload challenge with 93 HP, 197 000k EXP and level 8.

@ Grond0 - WK is fairly easy solo in the 3rd lvl. It can be tricky in Succubus an Alu room cause of the anti magic room that you have to go through. Ken/thieves dont have to buff to fight so a helm of charm protection will safe guard you

@Corey and Aasim - good luck and that was fast lol

2 days, about 5 and a half hours I'd say. Being ill has it's benefits. :P I did skip a lot of stuff (Bassilus for example).

Teil - halfling fighter/thief (2nd and final update)

At the Bandit Camp the bandits were cleared using stealth shots - that took a while due to the number of them and the amount they move around.  Some of those without distance attacks (like Taugosz) were backstabbed.

Inside the main tent Teil stealthed, tossed a fireball and restealthed before the enemies went hostile.  A stealth shot on Raemon and a quick exit resulted in Hakt following - more stealth shots for him.  Another shot at Raemon and this time Britik followed to his doom.  A third shot killed Raemon and then Teil was able to remain in the tent and restealth to finish Venkt off.

In the Cloakwood he couldn't detect the web traps, but his stealth was good enough to allow him to just run through them.  At the mine he backstabbed the bridge guards before a trio of fireballs killed the mages.  He then successfully stealth-shot Drasus several times (which requires precision due to his speed of response), but then failed to hide again and had to run off the map.  On returning he got another shot in, but failed to hide again (it was daylight now, so far more difficult) and did another runner.  Drasus was now at the edge of the map himself so Teil finished him off with a backstab before doing the same to Genthore.

After sneaking down to Daveorn Teil disarmed the first two traps, but couldn't see any more.  He had a potion of power from the amazons that might have helped with that, but he decided to just use a potion of magic blocking to trip them.  That also warded off a lightning bolt and a dire charm before Teil switched to backstabs - he attempted three of those, with the last two going through mirrors to chunk Daveorn.  After resting (to get his second Bhaal horror) he flooded the mine.

After selling stuff at High Hedge Teil started doing reputation quests.  I made an immediate error when I mistakenly thought he was stealthed and tried coming in for a backstab on the chicken-loving wolf - realising the problem and moving away again just too late to avoid the wolf attacking.  That was the first time in the game so far that something had attacked Teil, but the wolf missed.

He also did some high earning encounters like Bassilus (stealth to avoid spells being targeted).  At the Lighthouse area the sirines were stealth shot (not easy because they move around a lot), while the golems were just shot.  On the way to Ulgoth's Beard he stole the ankheg's treasure, although the ankhegs themselves were left alone.  That meant Teil had almost 80,000 gold when he arrived at Ulgoth's Beard with reputation at 20 and could buy everything of use to him.

I'd been finding progress in that last bit rather tedious and, as a consequence, taken some unnecessary risks and that approach found Teil out when leaving Ulgoth's Beard.  He tried backstabbing Dushai, even though he gained nothing by doing so.  The backstab succeeded but didn't quite kill him and, rather than run, I tried to finish him off with a LMD - but his magic resistance kicked in and his return attack hit Teil for 1 HP!

Rather than continue with that run I think I'll retire Teil there and take a break for a bit.

@Grond0 - sorry to hear you retiring Tiel. I hope your break can inspire you to come with a new concept that will get you excited about playing again. Congrats again on your recent successes, and especially solo of the 3rd Melissan Battle, as those slayer shadows so often maul my parties...

Best of luck with your new run, Mr. Goldbeard. So is your INT for your sorc for lore? You know INT pretty irrelevant for sorcs, as they don't memorize spells like other mages. Also, are you intending to dual some of your characters at some point, if not why all human?

A 9 for item usage : wands, scrolls, etc. You never know when you need two fireball wands launched at the same time. I dont intend on dual classing any of them, since its a pretty well balanced group as it is. Thank you by the way.

Mordred, Servant & Black Guard of Asmodeus.  @ the bidding of my lord, I headed east to Gullykin, as always, not knowing his plan or purposes for my being there. My Bard/Herald/Sage rebuffed a Hobbit named Gandolar who inquired about my intentions in Gullykin & then my Berserker Sergeant blew off a female Hobbit that was also sticking her nose into my business.  Once I got going reconnoitering Gullykin, I moved around the village & immediate area clockwise.  My group stumbled onto three Ghasts. I directed my subordinates to use their ranged weapons but my Enchanter got a little too brave & was Held & subsequently killed. I finished killing off the Ghasts, three or four Kobolds & two Dire Wolves before retiring back to Beregost to raise my Enchanter (I needed to sell some things before I could do so & there is no market that I know of in Gullykin).

The trips back to Beregost continued twice more as I continually needed to unload loot.  On return, it was Kobolds, Xvarts, three Ghouls, two Dire Wolves & two Wolves & maybe some other things I forgot now

Key Event I’ve come to realize, that as Asmodeus orders my footsteps, he brings me increasingly to challenging battles between hours & hours of tedium & ho-hum. I am learning never to let down my guard b/c every time I do, he takes shows me that I can be gone in the drop of a hat. I was leading my subordinates thru Gullykin killing the usual suspects & getting complacent when suddenly I was face to face w/four assassins, one calling himself Molkar. I gave the order to tear them down one @ a time, starting w/the leader. So I cast Doom; my Conjurer Melf’s Acid Arrow; my Enchanter, Hold Person; my Illusionist Blindness & my Bard/Herald/Sage, Magic Missile. Meanwhile, my Berserker Sergeant was ‘Enraged’ b/c someone ‘over there’ was casting spells our way.  ‘Molkar’ was dead in no time & I turned our fury on the second member of the quartet, leaving the spellcaster to my Berserker Sergeant. The Hold Person spell had actually Held two of them so my Enchanter used Charm on one of those two & ‘BINGO’ he was charmed. My Berserker Sergeant had taken Melf’s Acid Arrow himself & was fading quickly. He quaffed a Potion of Healing before heading back to friendly lines where I handed him an Elixir of Health but he was out of the fight after that. By then all but the enemy spellcaster were dead so I focused all final attacks his direction &, soon, he fell too. Victory. Praise Asmodeus.

I rolled a Blackguard yesterday after Norros Woodsoul's death, and it got very far and continued playing it today, so I'm going to enter it into the challenge.  Solo No-Reload.  I'm back tracking since yesterday.

Grith'atzu - Chaotic Evil Blackguard - HP Now : 96

Starting Stat                         Now

STR : 18/96           -             19

DEX : 18                -             19

CON : 18               -             19

INT : 15                 -              16

WIS : 10                 -              12

CHR : 14                -              15

Grith'atzu was just one of those dudes that just beasted everything it came across.  Mulahey was slain in seconds and with the blackguard aura his little minions just barely scratched him.  Tranzig didn't even get to turn hostile before he died.  Grith'atzu bursted with tremendous speed going through the bandit camp and the entire cloakwood (I hate cloakwood, so much, but i had to get the sword, but i skipped wyvern territory).  The mine was done with ease as he lured each of the BH's out and killed them, followed by a quick run to the surface for rest.  Dave was slain by the bolt of bitting + bolt of lightning with the poison applied, Dave never even got a teleport off, One crit with the lightning, then the biting with poison applied just ate him away.  The only time I had to down about 7 potions was at the first encounter of the Iron Throne building, being complacent and not paying attention always is my downfall, but luring them down the stairs did just fine, along with popping a bolt with poison before charging up to them works very well also.  The candlekeep area was kinda tricky, as i had forgotten to grab a potion of mirror eyes, but thankfully i had a potion of invisibility to bypass the gazing lizard.

And here i am.  I really need to learn to get my screenshots on here, if anyone can give a little insight on how to transfer them onto this forum that would be very helpful, I know how to take them, and i know where they are stored, I just can't seem to figure out how to get them from my comp to the forum.

Grith'atzu - Blackguard LvL 8 - 218 Kills - 96 HP

;).  That's the trouble with playing too much with wild mages - genders just blend into one.

And here i am.  I really need to learn to get my screenshots on here, if anyone can give a little insight on how to transfer them onto this forum that would be very helpful, I know how to take them, and i know where they are stored, I just can't seem to figure out how to get them from my comp to the forum.

You can't post screenshots directly onto this forum - you have to put them onto an internet hosting site somewhere first.  I think Photobucket is the most popular for this purpose, but there are quite a few that offer free accounts.  You can then type directly the information to make the post, but it's normally much easier to use the functionality of the host site.  So for Photobucket:

- if you want to embed a link in your text.  Highlight the text you want to store the link and click the green button with a cross.  Switch to Photobucket and click on the 'Direct' link (if looking at an individual picture there that will automatically copy the information; if looking at thumbnails you'll need to use ctrl C or right-click to copy).  Switch back to the forum and paste the information into the link box.

- if you want to embed a picture directly.  Put the mouse cursor at the point you want the picture (normally best to have a full line at least left empty).  Switch to Photobucket and copy the 'IMG' link.  Switch back to the forum and paste.

Iron Throne
Again, we enter fully invisible. Tactic was to use Detonation arrows, run&hide, rinse-repeat. This worked out nice until Coran got targeted by a Flamstrike wand.

So Coran was killed by...you? :)

Nice reports, especially the one for the final battle. Some carnage!

I have put my Totemic Druid Martha on hold for a bit, and will instead mix up Eileth's progress in BG2 with a goofy challenge here, a Sorceress with completely random spell picks. Needless to say, I do not expect to live long. Since it will be so hard, I chose to reroll for a while and redistribute stats. Ended up with 'Imoen quality' stats (total 87):
Glasya001_zpsbe75a45c.jpg

The 18 CON is to leave some room for my Imp familiar to fight and die a couple of times without me getting any permanent HP penalties (provided I survive the sudden 12 HP loss, of course). I chose to stay away from Good alignment to protect myself from Unholy Blights, and I really want to see what the imp's polymorphing can do for its fighting ability.

Imoen and Glasya have not been waylaid yet, and we made it to the FAI (found the FF scroll that is located where the Ring of Wizardry is in vanilla; and we fought the hobgoblins for Joia) and then to Beregost. Karlat and the spiders are defeated but the belt ogre has not been fought yet. Glasya rolled a 4 on her level-up (so a whopping 18HP now!) and Imoen has rolled a 6 and a 1 on her two level-ups. No idea about my future party, but I think I'll have at least one arcane caster that can keep Glasya invisible most of the time (especially during travels).

Glasya's initial spell picks were Burning Hands and Friends.

New start, new character :)
Please meet Aya Quyllur Warma:

These screenshots were taken just yet. When I started playing her yesterday, I didn't think of taking any level 1 screenshots. Didn't even know whether I would enjoy her enough to continue to play with her.

Aya is the daughter of a half-elven shamanic priestess from Maztica, who had come across the Trackless Sea to Faerun after her community was foretold of the Time of Troubles in a collective vision. As a healer/protector Aya's mother had been gifted by Mother Nature, and she considered it her responsibility to lend her hand to those who needed it the most. She met with Gorion (and other harpers) on the Sword Coast, and when it turned out their interests in doing good were mutual, they became friends. Unfortunately, Aya learned from Gorion, Aya's mother wouldn't live to see the Time of Troubles through, as she died while giving birth to Aya. Gorion has never told Aya much of her mother other than that she was a good woman and that Aya's surname Quyllur Warma means child of the stars, as she was born during a starry night in the High Forest, while she and Gorion were on their way to Silverymoon to visit some of Gorion's elven Harper friends. Aya wonders whether Gorion has told her everything he knows. (Actually Quyllur and Warma are the Quechuan words for 'stars' and 'child'. Quechua is a language spoken by indigenous peoples in the Andes.)

In Candlekeep Aya never received any type of education to become a druid, and she never even aspired to be a druid, but growing up, she discovered a strong, innate affinity with nature. She has a telepathic understanding with plants and trees which at first frightened and embarrassed her, but over the course of time she's learned to embrace this quality. Also, at a young age she discovered her ability to heal other people and animals. All it takes is to lay her hands upon a wounded creature. She spent most of her time with the Oghman priest in the infirmary, and exchanging stories with Imoen, her best friend.

Aya is of Neutral Good alignment. She's kind but somewhat aloof. On the one hand, she's good-looking, attractive in an exotic way, and pleasant with other people, causing them to enjoy her company. But on the other hand she's not the most sociable person, as she'd often prefer silence and meditation where others in her situation would share an ale or a tale with a friend or a stranger. Either way anyone in need of her help can count on her, even if she'd rather be doing something else.

Game rules:

- No-reload
- SCS/Ascension
- Core difficulty, with max hitpoints for all creatures in the game
- Not sure yet whether this is going to (remain to) be a solo venture. I might want to try out the Xan romance, and Kivan, Coran and possible Faldorn would also be interesting companions.

I patiently re-rolled to get some great stats to boost her survivability. I would have liked her to have slightly higher INT, but that's her only dump stat really (next to STR, which I maxed mainly for weight allowance issues since I can't see Aya meelee'ing much).

***

This journal isn't going to be as extended as other journals I've written on here, though truly interesting battles and roleplay aspects will still get detailed attention.

In Candlekeep Aya did all the possible chores except killing the rats in the storehouse for Reevor, whom she didn't speak with. She even killed two bounty hunters who had wanted her dead, in melee combat. She took two hits but she was more damaging with her staff. A 12 damage critical was sufficient to kill Carbos in one hit.

The day after Gorion's decease, she was joined by Imoen and later Xzar and Monty. They picked up any loot to be found near Gorion's remains and returned to Candlekeep to arrange for Gorion's burial. There she parted with Imoen, insisting she wouldn't have her involved in the mess she was in. She also said goodbye to Xzar and Montaron, who unlike Aya, were in a hurry to get to Nashkel.

She travelled south to the High Hedge Area to take a shortcut to Beregost. In the HH area she encountered many foes, of which the skeletons with their throwing daggers were the most dangerous. Aya had decided to wear no armor, as the only armor she was allowed to use as an Avenger was leather armor which is counterproductive in protecting the wearer against missile attacks. One skeleton had her quaff two healing potions before it went down. She fled from the other undead, southward, until she faced a zombie and a wolf (thankfully not simultaneously). In killing the wolf she turned out to have saved Melicamp the chickenated apprentice from certain death. Aya travelled with Melicamp back to the HH area, to Thalantyr who restored Melicamp to his human form, helping Aya to level 2. She then travelled to Beregost where various peacefully resolved quests (Marl, Dudley family, Firebead) and the killing of four huge spiders rose Aya to level 3. From that moment the Web spell became available to her, making her much more dangerous in battle than she'd been before, and much more confident travelling to ther places. Web helped her kill two Ogrillons south of Beregost for example, Neira in Nashkel, a rogue Ogre who had stolen Unshey's belt, and Tarnesh at the Friendly Arm Inn. Aya would cast web and slay her foes with Chromatic Orbs and missile attacks (darts).

She had more difficulty with Karlat, who quaffed an oil of speed before he attacked her. She had to flee, and when the potion's effect had worn off she fought him with darts and Chromatic Orbs since casting Web inside the Red Sheaf would be very dangerous for her so long as she didn't enjoy Free Action. One of the Orbs blinded Karlat which made it significantly easier for Aya to finish him off with her darts.
Another dangerous foe was Zordral, at the Nashkel Carnival. He had a number of Charms she could only protect herself against by fleeing inside one of the tents. He also hurt her with Magic Missiles and successfully cast Blindness on her. It was only after he'd ran out of all his spells, that a still blinded Aya managed to finish him off in melee combat, with a critical hit.

Aya is now a level 5 Avenger. She's still without armour (apparently in my setup Avengers can't use Ankheg Plate Mail) and she uses mundane weapons for lack of anything better. She does own a Helmet of Charm protection, a purchase she did after haveing dealt with Zordral the Enchanter, a Ring of Protection +1 she received from Mirianne, and the Stylish boots of the Cheetah.

Her next plans are killing the evil cleric Bassilus and Mutamin and his basilisks, for Keldath Ormlyr in Beregost.

They never could, they can't even wear studded leather. Anyway, GL&HF.
