Entering the BG1 no-reload challenge, Eydan a solo Elven Assassin:
I went for what I think is my favorite archetype, along with the vigilante, i.e. the mercenary. Picked Assassin because I think it's not a very straightforward class to play what with the low skillpoints, and with the allegdly decreasing effectiveness of poison and backstabs later on (late SoA and ToB). I play on core difficulty, but maximize hit points. Installed Rogue Rebalancing (in addition to most of SCS) but not its revised Thief kits component. I did install the proper pnp dualwielding implementation component, which will allow Eydan to place 3 pips in TWF, and additional equipment for Thieves and Bards.
Got a good roll for pretty much optimal stats. Since Thac0 was likely to be an issue I went with Elf and spent proficiency pips in long swords and short bows as Elves get a +1 to hit bonus in those two (and in short swords), but not in other blades such as Scimitars in EE. The first 40 skill points went straight to Set Traps, a skill that would be developed a bit more in the course of the game, so that they would become a semi-reliable secret weapon.

Eydan, ever the loner, had no interest in traveling with Imoen or seeking out Khalid and Jaheira. He stubbornly decided to do the exact opposite of what was expected of him: he traveled southwest rather than northeast. He had first hostile encounter alone on the unforgiving Sword Coast when he faced Shoal, a Nereid whom he knew not to trust in the least. Rather than going for the kiss, he went for the kill. It allowed him to reach level 4(!). Skills developed were HiS/MS and Set Traps; a proficiency point was placed in single weapon style.
Further south Thalantyr failed to anti-chickenate his former apprentice Melicamp, but other relatively low-risk quests had Eydan grow steadily toward 20k XP and thus level 6. It mainly involved working as a hired hand for people he would meet in the inns and taverns of the Sword Coast smaller urbanizations. Feats included: bringing Mirianne a letter from her husband, fetching a book for his old acquaintance Firebead, pacifying Marl the mourning drunkard, killing Karlat the Bounty Hunter, bringing Perdue his lost Short Sword, and killing Huge Spiders in Beregost; slaying Ghasts and Hobgoblins south of Beregost (with the Boots of Stealth as a nice reward), dispatching Tarnesh the bounty hunting mage, bringing Landrin a number of possessions from her home in Beregost, killing more Hobgoblins to return a ring to Joia at the FAI; providing Charleston Nib protection against bandits and helping frenzied Brage on the South Coast; dispatching Greywolf the Bounty Hunter so that Prism could finish his sculpture of Ellessime, executing Zordral at the Nashkel Carnival for the murdring of an innocent woman; winning a duel against Meilum, bringing Samuel the injured Flaming Fist deserter into Gellana Mirrorshade's care, and surviving two Winter Wolf ambushes.
I call all these undertakings low-risk ventures because poison (and to a lesser extent traps) were generally very reliable.
Meilum was the exception: failed poisonous backstab and ranged attempts and the intervention of Kobolds had Eydan leave the area and return to finish the job. Meilum's gauntlets were well-received (anything to improve Thac0...).
With the gold received from Bentley Mirrorshade in exchange for Ankheg Armor, a Ring of Wizardry, two Rings of Protection +1, and other random loot, Eydan purchased the Shadow Armor at the Thunderhammer Smithy and the Red Ioun Stone (+1 DEX) from Thalantyr. At this stage of the game Eydan's reputation was very high thanks to the help he'd given to so many inhabitants of the Sword Coast.
Eydan's next victims were Mutamin the murderous Gnome and his Basilisks, a commission for Keldath Ormlyr, of the Lathander Temple in Beregost. Eydan's HiS failed suddenly when he was behind Mutamin, ready to strike. The two had a little chat, and after it Eydan managed to hit the Gnome with his poisoned Varscona. It didn't keep the devious little runt from blinding the Elf, but thankfully that was all Mutamin had to offer before he fell.
I normally have my charnames tackle this area much earlier. Nevertheles clearing it helped Eydan gain another level (7) at roughly 45k XP. Find Traps, Set Traps and the Stealth skills were all reinforced.

Eydan then proceeded to rake together circa 25k more XP in order to reach level 8, before the Nashkel Mines were to be tackled. In the Lighthouse Area (where Sirines never saw Eydan sneak past them), Flesh Golems and the Tome of CON were Eydan's first quarry. He saved against spell to avoid any damage from an apparent Glyph of Warding trap and dismantled all other traps in the cave. The Golems fell to Eydan's non-multiplied backstabs.
Further south, also on the coast he discovered a Gnoll Stronghold. He never received any commission for dealing with the vermin, so he left them to their business. He did pick up a tome that increased his CHA (to a mediocre 10). From there he traveled back toward Nashkel, via the Cloud Peak Mountains, running a number of minor errands for some of the curious inhabitants of that beautiful but generally desolate land. He reunited a dog named Rufie with its owner Albert (a demon), and Pixie the cat with a girl named Drienne. He also protected a Dryad's tree from the harm that two knuckleheads were about to cause it, and he slew some Gnoll named Ingot as well as two bandits, Vax and Zal, which yielded him a pair of Bracers of Archery.
Up north Eydan lent a young girl named Tenya a hand against three thieving fishermen. Alas no reward was received yet. Not sure about her Thac0 and damage scores, but Tenya could have possibly slain the Elf had she followed him inside her 'land home' where her Hold Person took effect. She must have decided against entering the place, expecting Eydan to strike at her from the shadows should she get inside.
Eydan further slew numerous Ankhegs, relying heavily on his poison weapon ability, and brought farmer Brun the heavy corpse of his son who had gone missing.
Further north even, in Ulgoth's Beard, he met a gnomish lady, Dushai, a retired adventurer who showed him her Ring of Free Action. She wouldn't part with it when asked, so Eydan quaffed a single potion of master thievery and tried to pickpocket her for the ring. The plan worked; he acquired the ring, along with a couple of potions. She would become hostile soon after, because Eydan's first pickpocket attempt had failed, but the Assassin simply left the area with the goods.
Then came the Nashkel Mines, an assignment he'd been given by Berrun Ghastkill, the mayor of Nashkel. Eydan discovered that the mines were infested with Kobolds. Having little interest in facing hordes of the critters (who generally haven't anything of worth with them anyway), he used stealth to venture deeper into the mines, undisturbed, until he found the mine operator (contaminator), a Half-Orc Cleric of Cyric. Eydan poisoned his arrows and with them the priest, who would fall soon after. The hardest part came after that: Eydan got surrounded by Mulahey's Skellies and Kobolds, and had to fight his way out. He was more than a little dismayed with his amateuristic work, and relieved to make his way out of the mines.

Good luck Blackraven. I must admit I haven't very much luck with assassins at all (solo or otherwise), the skill points is definitely an issue. In party play, I always have a 2nd thief to make up for that. But BBMorti has shown it can be done - here's hoping you can duplicate his success.

thanks Corey for your wishes :) I might have to look into BBMorti's exploits in Amn... Best of luck to you and DogDancing as well, in your duo run!
For now some more progress in BG1:

Back in Nashkel Eydan was rewarded by Ghastkill and attacked by an assassin not unlike himself. Eydan, an opportunist, called the guards who were evidently on his side after his work for the community in the Nashkel Mines. Eydan kept to the back and saw the guards fight well, but it was he who got the kill.
In Beregost, Tranzig, the Assassin's contact was poisoned with Eydan's venomous arrows, and further north, in Ulgoth's Beard, Eydan had a run-in with Dushai again after he had done some shopping at the local store. He slew the Gnome and noticed a drop in his reputation as people started treating him less kindly than before.
As the number of  attempts on his life started to increase for some reason unbeknownst to him - once by an Ogre Mage whose motives he wasn't sure about, and twice by parties that expressly communicated to him they had been sent to dispatch him - Eydan decided to investigate who wanted him dispensed with. The corresponce he had found on the Nashkel assassin's contact led him to the Wood of Sharp Teeth, a vast forest with a remarkably strong bandit presence, the majority hostile. He had a pair of Boots of Avoidance from the Nashkel assassin, a Cloak of Displacement bought in Ulgoth's Bears and a Girlde of Piercing he had pciked up a while back from a rogue Ogre. The items protected Eydan against some of the hostile bandits who tended to rely on archery.
Eydan wasn't aware of having crossed any bandit collective, so when he met a relatively friendly group leader named Raiken, he told him he was willing to join their ranks. He was led to a Bandit camp, where a meeting with their leader, a Half-Ogre by the name of Tazok, didn't bring him any further. Before leaving from the camp he decided to have a peak in the camp's main tent after one of the less enlightened guards told him important documents were inside, stored in lightning-trapped chest. Near the entrance he placed two traps, just in case things would go south.
Stealthily he entered and went straight for the chest. The bandits took notice and predictably they didn't appreciate Eydan looting the chest. He quickly quaffed a potion of magic blocking to prevent their mage from hurting him. As he failed to finish off the mirror-imaged wizard, he drank an invisibility potion andgot out as quickly as he could.
The bandits outside apparently hadn't noticed yet what had transpired in the tent, allowing Eydan to escape without worrying much. Back at the FAI he studied the documents from the bandit camp, and conferred with Elminster the famous wizard he kept running into. The Cloakwood was to be his next destination, more specifically an Iron Throne base hidden in it, because the Iron Throne seemed to be the organization that was behind both the iron crisis plaguing the Sword Coast, and the attemps on his life. Getting to this secret base was difficult. At one point he almost gave up his pursuit, as he ran into countless spiders of different varieties and ettercaps. He had to retreat once, and when he came he managed to best his opponents with an ultimate effort, using all he had: his poisons, traps, an oil of fiery burning and a potion of fire breath.
A bit further ahead, lots of running around and reluctant use of invisibility charges from a ring he had bought in Ulgoth's Beard helped him prevail in a similar situation.
The remainder of Eydan's trek through the forest was relatively uneventful, except from a critical backstab killing the vile leader of a group of aggressive druids that had been bothering him: the Shadow Archdruid Amarande (which yielded him the Club +2, at level 8 Eyvan's 4th proficiency pip had gone into Clubs; my Assassins refuse to use staves).
The entrance to the Iron Throne base, a mine, was guarded by four Throne hirelings who had been ordered to kill him. Traps and poisoned acid arrows and backstabs killed two of them, the warriors, one of them dropping a pair of Boots of Speed Eydan picked up. The Assassin then snuck past the other party members, two wizards.
Inside the Mines, Eydan used the same strategy as in the Nashkel Mines. Stealthily he made his way downward till he reached the big boss, who from a distance warned that the Elf's devices were no match for his magic. But Eydan cast Protection from Magic on himself, turning the roles around. He had two watch out for the wizard's Battle Horrors and guards, and heal time and again, until Davaeorn fell, the Battle Horrors disintegrated, and the guards wandered off.
With that piece of business out of the way, Eydan traveled to the city of Baldur's Gate, where's he currently busy trading at the various shops and carrying out a few assignments he had agreed. So far he's acquired the Cloak of Balduran, Tomes of INT, DEX and WIS, a powerful short bow (Sparkburst, a Rogue Rebalancing item) and a lot of ammo and useful potions.

Salira{3} - human monk (update 1)

After one lot of gods cruelly decreed Salira's last incarnation to have been a failure another lot (well me actually :P) decided she deserved a further chance ...

Playing quickly before I had to go to work, Salira has:
- killed Shoal and then the basilisks to get some levels
- stunned Mulahey
- sneaked into the bandit camp
- fireballed Drasus' group and stunned him
- used a green scroll of magic protection to take down Daveorn and rested to get her second Bhaal horror ability
- ran through various reputation quests to get that up to 20 and bought all desired items
- recovered the 3 tomes accessible on the Sword Coast

The only time when I thought she was at all in danger was when I chose to draw both battle horrors away from Daveorn at once and use the necklace of missiles on them.  Dodging and hiding from both at once is a bit more difficult than with just one and I carelessly let Salira get hit once.  If she had been unlucky at hiding behind the partition things might have become problematic, though she did have a potion of invisibility in reserve, but in fact she proved pretty good at getting into the shadows.  Finishing those battle horrors off got her to level 7.

She has just arrived in Baldur's Gate ready to run through her remaining tasks next time.  Her HPs are rather low, but she'll just have to rely on not getting hit ...

Thanks Corey - she's on her way ...

Salira{3} - human monk (2nd and final update)

Salira picked up the tomes in the City.  The only potential problem there was being poisoned by a hobgoblin arrow on the way up Ramazith's Tower, but she had plenty of time to run to the nearby temple to get healing.

After sneaking into the Iron Throne she returned to Candlekeep and looted the tombs there.  I was careless against the phase spiders and Salira was attacked once; she had no poison protection so that could easily have been fatal, but the attack fortunately missed.

Back in the City she went after Slythe.  She was hit twice while running / hiding and throwing stunning darts, but not particularly hard and CLW and lay on hands kept her HPs up (she had also used a potion of power to prevent the possibility of a one-shot critical).

At the palace she added giant strength and engaged the dopplegangers.  They didn't have much luck and she didn't bother using her second horror after the first scared two of the dopplegangers.  The last active one did manage to kill Liia with its final attack, but Belt was never in danger.

After using stealth attacks to clear the maze Salira sneaked into the ruined temple to find Sarevok.  A blast from the wand of heavens only tickled him, but did its job of bringing him out alone to chase her in vain around the pillars.  The XP from that combat was sufficient for level 9 and, after travelling to Jon's dungeon, she took that level - a welcome 9 HPs bringing her to 57 (still 5 below average).

Corey_Russell/Dogdancing Multi-Player No-Reload

Protagonist (Dogdancing) - Tcos, CE gnome,level 6 fighter/level 6 thief

Companion (Corey_Russell) - Zaxxon, CG gnome, level 6 fighter/level 5 mage

The duo made some more progress today. We decided we would attempt the challenges at the Balisk map.

But first, when we arrived at the carnival, two ogre berserkers were giving us some trouble - we did eventually win - they got some good licks on Tcos.  We came here to get the protection from petrification scroll, since she will do most of the killing, plus it's more reliable than spell. We also realized we better get two mirror eye potions too, to insure we would survive a basilisk ambush (High Hedge).

We then arrive at the basilisk area. Our first goal was to eliminate Kirian's party. Some hiccups along the way. The plan was for Tcos to go invisible, then Zaxxon would fire web, fireballs (from necklace of missiles), Tcos would then throw her fireball potion, and then bow away. Problem was we encountered a cave bear while Tcos was invisible. She had to watch, while Zaxxon did a lot of running and shooting - Zaxxon has no bracers or armor at this point, so tanking was out of the question. He did get the job done.

Ok, web and fireballs, then bow - Kirian's party was completely unable to offer resistance. We had a lot of looting issues, but we did what we could.

Next challenge was Mutamutin. Zaxxon pulled by himself, then two on one (plus getting a hit thru his mirror images)  made that quick. The duo then cleared a little bit but Zaxxon ran out of protection from petrification spells, so Tcos had to clear the rest of the map by herself - she did it fine though.

After selling, Tcos was very close to level 6 fighter. Therefore, the duo headed to Ulcaster School. We didn't do much at the surface, but we had tough time at the entrance. Zaxxon did a web and pulled the ghouls - he encountered some lag though and got held! Tcos managed to kill it in time - oh, here comes another one! Zaxxon still held, but Tcos still kills it in time with her bow - he is low life. When unstuck, Zaxxon heals and uses his magic missiles on the last ghoul. The kobolds weren't any problem. But problem is low blue potions and not a lot of inventory space (Zaxxon forgot to bank some things too).

Zaxxon would have suggested leaving to sell and return, but during the hectic battle, Tcos went in the dungeon for a sec and came back up. In my installs, once you go into the dungeon, you have to loot everything or the stuff disappeaers after a few days (the stuff on the floor, which there's a bit of that). That was no good, especially since item-wise we wanted the fireball wand.

Therefore, we pressed on, though we had only 3 blue potions between us. Our first battle was the jelllies, and this nearly the end of our run. Tcos got hit very hard, and was poisoned to boot! We paused and talked about it for some time. Eventually, Tcos did a elixar of health, as that heals and removes poisons - we only had one and Zaxxon had it, so he had to give to Tcos. We did that - Tcos then ran to try to heal up, while Zaxxon kept the jellies busy. It took quite a while for Tcos to heal, but Zaxxon managed to tank the jellies ok. Little problem though - ZERO blue potions! We had another big issue too, which we were soon to find out.

Zaxxon recommended the duo both use shields - with the higher AC, should take less damage, and that might be enough to compensate for the lack of heal potions. Corey_Russell also knew there some blue potions as loot. So the duo did this.

First battle was 4 dire wolves - there's normally only two here, hmmm. Next battle was TWELVE huge spiders (uh, oh). Apparently that quick in/out that Tcos did earlier DOUBLED the spawns! But the duo pressed on, using shields seemed to be helping quite a bit. We were able to loot everything we wanted and survived the vampiric wolf. Incidentally, we bought a freedom potion earlier, so that Tcos wouldnt' be held. We will need to get Dushai's free action ring soon...

Dogdancing was hurting in RL so we saved and ended our session here.

Salira{3} - human monk (1st and final update)

An early start this morning provided the opportunity for Salira to make good initial progress in Amn after finishing off the Sword Coast.  After generally very smooth progress though things went sour on her in an instant.  Encounters completed included:

- escaped from the dungeon. There was one potential narrow escape there when she was slept by the radiant mephit, but she had destroyed that portal an instant before.
- restored the circus.
- sorted out the Copper Coronet (level 10).
- triggered the scripted ambushes from stealth.
- returned Renfeld, looted the harpers and successfully took revenge for Xzar on Lucette.
- cleared the Graveyard tombs using a green scroll (level 11).
- punished the kidnappers and released Lady Elgea.
- killed Pai'Na and cleared the Southern tombs (using another green scroll).
- cleared the top floor of Watcher's Keep (no vampiric wraiths - level 12) and bought the potion case.
- killed the sewer rakshasa, helped Roger (level 13) and bought his potions.
- picked off Tarnor's gang one by one.
- opened up access to the liches (warned by the cowled wizards for using the RoAC to protect against the petrification trap in the Bridge District).  Then used another green scroll to get the Ring of Gaxx.
- started Mae'Var's tasks by obtaining the necklace (level 14).

At that point Salira went to the Bridge District to get the berserk warrior with the help of a potion of magic protection.  While her magic resistance was over 100% she also went to call on Captain Dennis.  That fight seemed to be going according to plan, with nearly all the enemies dead.  However, I got a bit surprised when Dennis hit Salira twice in quick succession taking her down to low HPs.  She turned to run, but got hit again (I suspect Dennis must have been hasted during the battle as the 3 attacks came so close together).

Ay Grond0, what a shame! (Wouldn't your last post be more suitable for the BG2 no-reload challenge thread btw? Not that reading it here bothered me in ny way.) The good thing for you is that BG1 has become pretty much a cakewalk for your Monks it seems, so I've no doubt that Salira the 4th will reach Amn soon if you want her too. Rinse and repeat until bang!, Melissan lies dead upon the ground :D

As to Captain Dennis, even without True Grandmastery, he may have 5/2 APR (supposing he's level 13+), which if I'm not mistaken means he gets 2 APR one round and 3 APR the other etc.

By the way I left my Assassin in the city of Baldur's Gate and went for another Wizard Slayer run. With my Assassin I 'discovered' a PfMagic scroll, locked away in Ramazith's tower. Does anyone know how much STR is required to bash that lock? 18/00 doesn't suffice, but I can imagine that the second time in the city, DUHM and 20 STR might work. Would be great to know, so that I can plan the uses of those scrolls a bit, but if no one knows I'll simply try it myself...

I see. Well, humor Tiax with his world domination dreams, and maybe he could pick it for you, then say, oh Tiax, changed my mind - good luck with your "quest".

EDIT: If you have a strict "solo" rule (no NPCs allowed to join), then you wouldn't be able to get the tomes in the Candlekeep Crypts either as WS. Not that they are necessary.

Bgee run update S1.1,

Hear text as mp3,

Sarah and Puk alternate attempts but I have a strict rule on rerolls so she will only have mage as an option for dual… Puk of course rolled nicely and gets by on his wit/ charm… leaving the details up to Sarah. Starting stats for Puk (84) and Sarah (76), just a basic bgee run with no other mods to make bug fixing simpler and speed things up a bit.

The temptation to race ahead was nicely tempered by my fear, Gorion is ok for a foster-father however the only man I really trust is Puk but it’s not like that… we are just friends!

s-baldr001.jpgs-baldr002.jpg

Mods; none... testing basic bgee.

p.s. I have to move some bandwith around to make space for Sarah so I'll start playing tomorrow.

Interesting, I have been tinkering with a solo Assassin dualed into mage somewhere in Amn, in my mind. How high are the odds that you might dual Sarah, ussnorway?

Sorry to see your previous run came to a half at Irenicus in hell, was a great run.

I don’t play solo--- I would want detect traps for solo play and suggest shadow dancer / mage for that as the point restrictions of assassin are too high. I picked assassin for the poison and was looking to backstab but she rolled very low so entering melee range with her (until much later when she gets good magic buffs) is out--- as a range character I’d say the odds of her taking the arcane option are very high.

I need Sarah to have at least 100 points in detect illusion (level  5 i.e. 10,000) and at that point she can go mage (at level 6 i.e  40,000) to recover her abilities before arriving at bg2. Mage is very easy to recover in bg because the wands are much more powerful than what a caster can hope to match.

Unfortunately my two latest attempts stranded in the Nashkel Mines (held by Mulahey) and at the Ducal Palace (failed to keep the Dukes alive after the Doppelganger Mage succesfully confused the Fist Officers).
Btw I did manage to bash the lock of Ramazith's drawer with 20 STR through Duhm.

Both defeats had me continue my Assassin run, of which the following is a final update.

Eydan received a number of lucrative propositions in the city of Baldur's Gate including a couple of jobs for the local Thieves' Guild, the theft of a telescope at the Hall of Wonders, the assassination of a Nymph and, for Duke Eltan, investigation of the Iron Throne. He decided to prioritize his business with the Iron Throne, that had been an annoying distraction from his work. Attempts to infiltrate the Throne proved fruitless, as two guards somehow recognized him immediately. Eydan discreetly cut their throats before any alarm bells would ring and continued toward the upper floor, where according to a Halfling employee of the Throne some important meeting was going on. The first creature he saw was a shapeshifting Doppelganger right in front of him. It told him those people, about 7 or 8, were up to no good. The Elf descended one of the two stairs, and placed two traps by the other stairway. Then he drank an oil of speed, and when he saw two Mages in the group, a potion of clarity, before he whirled through their ranks, leaving a trail of destruction with his poisoned backstabs and arrows of dispelling.
Interrogation of their sole survivor made it clear to him that the true Throne leaders were on business in Candlekeep. Eydan reported this back to Belt who promptly teleported him to Candlekeep with an expensive tome to provide him access to his former home. Four Ogre Mages awaited him, hoping to claim a 10,000 GP bounty on his head. Eydan drank one of his many potions that protect against (hostile) magic, dispelled the monsters' protections and slew them one after the other.
In the Candlekeep library he never got to speak with the Iron Throne leaders; they were killed and he was framed for the deed. Thankfully Tethtoril looked Eydan up in his cell. He agreed with the Elf that Sarevok was the probable culprit. The old priest helped Eydan escape judgment by setting him free in the catacombs below Candlekeep. Although urged against it by Tethtoril, the Assassin couldn't help but investigate the tombs and chests. It yielded him some extremely valuable loot, such as tomes that would make him stronger and wiser, an enchanted ring, potions, scrolls etc, but it also nearly cost him his life when he ran into a web trap and was severely injured and poisoned by Phase Spiders before he got free.
(This was on the way back. I was playing for a moment with no volume, and didn't hear or see the web traps still active.)
Back in Baldur's Gate he got a tip from a woman named Tamoko, who was apparently well-informed of Sarevok's dealings, to seek out two assassins in the Undercellars, Slythe and Kristin, that were going to kill some of the Dukes for Sarevok. Eydan cast a scroll of Protection from magic on himself. With the edge of his blade coated in poison, and with two potions of invisibility Eydan managed to kill Slythe. He found a letter in which Sarevok explicitly instructed Slythe to kill the Dukes of Baldur's Gate, and an invitation to a party at the Ducal Palace for the occasion of Sarevok's inauguration as the new Grand Duke of Baldur's Gate. Eydan didn't bother with Kristin but went straight to the Ducal Palace. Once it became clear that most of the noble guests were Doppelgangers, a fight broke out between the two Dukes present, a number of Flaming Fist officers, and Eydan on the one hand, and the Doppelgangers on the other. Sarevok chose to keep up appearances, so he could'nt fight alongside the Doppelgangers. With his arrows of dispelling Eydan dispelled the haste effect that all the Doppelgangers were under. After that he focused mostly on disabling a Doppelganger Shaman and a Doppelganger Mage, using his poison weapon ability and his Horror Bhaalpower. He was content to see Belt and the Fist make good progress and he conttributed his share as well, teaching a Doppelganger true assassination.
Both Duke Belt and Duchess Liia Jannath survived the fight, until Eydan presented the incriminating letter to Belt. An enraged Sarevok slew the Duchess and would have done the same with Duke Belt if it weren't for the intervention of one of Sarevok's henchmen, a wizard who teleported away with Sarevok. Divination taught Belt that Sarevok had escaped via the Thieves' Guild and teleported Eydan that way as well. The Elf followed suit through a heavily trapped maze until he reached the Undercity below Baldur's Gate and a temple that appeared to be Sarevok's hideout. Eydan rested near the entrance, cast Protection from Magic, Protection from Poison, Protection from Acid, and Protection from Undead on himself, and then he engaged Sarevok and his last followers. (Poison/Acid would protect him against Diarmid's arrows, and Undead against the Skeleton Warriors that would rise from his enemies' corpses.) Arrows of dispelling, oils of speed combined with his Boots of Speed (for superspeed), poisoned arrows of biting, potions of power, and backstabs made the final showdown a realatively easy fight even though the presence of the Skeleton Warriors made it impossible for Eydan to hide in shadows.

Nice duo you have there ussnorway, and rather suboptimal stats (for a no-reload run). Looking forward to seeing your progress :)

Thanks Blackraven, Well done! That image in the catacombs... is that two potions of thieving or some kind of luck spell?

p.s. the last image is in need of repair.

Well done with the assassin Blackraven, but I'll look forward to more wizard slayer adventures in due course.  I noticed in your final screenshot by the way that Sarevok seems to have trouble distinguishing between himself and others!
