Sorry to hear that Epsil0. Did you have the Greenstone Amulet?
Sorry to hear that Epsil0. Did you have the Greenstone Amulet?
Well, that didn't last long. BG:EE is broken (in my humble opinion) without SCS. Hobgoblins just watch me shoot down their comrades because they can't see me past the fog of war? Nope, not satisfactory. So I'm rebuilding my rig to give the fodder a few extra brain cells. I'll enter my next character shortly.
Looking good Grond0. Great job vs Davaeorn - chunk death isn't rare there with SCS.
My rig now includes a couple of minor quest additions, RE, NPC Project, randomiser, aTweaks, and SCS (all intelligence included, none of the tactical challenges)
New Entry: Gwyneth
Female Human Sorceror
Stats = 89 (max DEX, INT, WIS, good on other attributes)
Spells = blindness, magic missle
Gwyneth left several disappointed suitors behind when she left Candlekeep. It was hard to think about romance when she was bleeding from a dangerous, poisoned stab wound inflicted by a pesky assassin who had infiltrated her bedchambers. Maybe the wilderness would be safer? (Fled from both Carbos and Shank. SCS spices things up!)
As Gwyneth approached the Friendly Arm Inn, another assassin attacked. The two of them fired off simultaneous spells. Tarnesh was blinded, and Gwyneth put to sleep. Fortunately, Tarnesh never stumbled upon her motionless body, and she and Imoen awoke in time to sort him out.
To be continued...
- ... as well as a tome of dexterity in a cupboard. Esher looked longingly at that, but eventually gave it to Shar-Teel.- ... In among the piles of loot was a strength tome - once more Shar-Teel was the lucky recipient of that.
Maybe you mentioned it somewhere, but I can't find an explanation for why you did this. I'm quite curious.
Gwyneth recruited J. and K. at the Friendly Arm. They went south toward Nashkel. Unfortunately, the party met its end entangled in a messy battle between Thayan wizards and a wild mage... (I didn't realize EE added the Neera encounter here. I had dropped off my party to soak up XP from the spiders quest, and... it didn't work out well). Goodnight Gwyneth.
On another note, randomizer must have taken the find familiar scroll that used to be in the FAI tree in SCS. ... OK. Can I step up my game?
Illian begins. Half-elf Sorceror. 87 stats. Mods: SCS, aTweaks, RR, RE, some quests. Additional self rules: No resurrection.
Illian recruits Imoen, Jaheira and Khalid...
... Khalid dies in Beregost at the hands of the Thayan wizards chasing Neera. Neera takes his place. Illian wonders if this might be a bad idea...

Does the following line from my Weidu log give enough of a clue?
~SETUP-BGTTWEAK.TP2~ #0 #1805 // Import more NPCs into Shadow of Amn: Sharteel: 11 (5 Feb 12)
... Khalid dies in Beregost at the hands of the Thayan wizards chasing Neera. Neera takes his place. Illian wonders if this might be a bad idea...
What could possibly go wrong - at least for someone who likes to live on the edge
?
Lightbringer, a Tiefling Vampire Slayer enters the fray.
If it had been my choice, I would have been a paladin, but because of scars inflicted at the time of my birth, that was never going to be an option.
I will just have to do the best that I can and hide both my disfigurement and the fact that I am a tiefling by always wearing a full helm.
At least I am well able to do the job that Gorion suggested.
EDIT
After his death, I ran, heading southwards, trying to avoid as much trouble as possible. I did a few kind acts on the way and to my surprise, by the time that I left Nashkel, I had a ring that improved my charisma no end and I was a hero! It looks as if my trail is now cold, so I will have to decide what to do next.

Knew nothing about that scroll.
Re-entering with a weird concept: the wild Cleric. The method I'm doing this with is starting with a Wild mage before dualing to cleric at level 3, forcing wild-surge rolls as well as spell level increases and decreases for my cleric spells. Along the line, I might end up using NRD to cast higher level mage spells, but not during BG1.
Jin-Quan, wild mage, introduction:

He just left Candlekeep after successfully casting Call Familiar. The plan is to get level 3 from Shoal before waiting for the basilisk area for casting Protection from Petrification to dual.
Very interesting concept, Epsil0 - good luck with it!
And it seems as if doesn't work: I've yet to see a spell-level shift or a surge from casting divine spells, even after dumping my entire spell book. I'll do a couple tests, but... I might be starting a different character instead.

Sounds like fun - I'll keep an eye out to see if he gets stoned by a basilisk or does it to himself!
Edit: or perhaps not. Would it make a difference if he's high enough level to get his wild mage abilities back?
Yes, due to the way I ran through the basilisk area, I didn't actually have any priest spells until after reclaiming wild mage castings back. Arcane magic was still shifting spell caster level up and down, but priest spells didn't, even caster-level dependent spells. The point's moot, though, as I accidentally didn't save into a hard slot and overrode both the quick save and autosave with a different character...
New character then!
Taggar, Gnome F/I, Introduction:

I didn't quite get the shot at level 1, but all we've done is hit Shoal so far.
Congrats Grond0 - have fun in BG 2!
Diary of Lightbringer
After reaching nashkel, I was at level 3 and decided to return to Beregost. There I was attacked by spiders, so I enlisted help using the ring Lord Foreshadow had given me. The spider killed my ally and so I waded in to get revenge. It was not long in coming. I then picked up the cloak and charmed some servants of Lathander who were scattered around Beregost. The other spiders ganged up on them and killed them whereupon I charmed the spiders.
I then talked to Garrick who took me to Silke who turned nasty. I used my spell of invisibility and Silke turned her attention to the spiders killing one of them before running into a nearby building. Creeping up behind her, one blow was enough to finish her off.
I then charmed the ones that Silke wanted killing and set them to fight the spiders.
They lost.
However they did hurt the spiders.
Kalat was then enticed out of the Inn whereupon he was set upon by the spiders. He killed one before being killed himself. I killed the final spider.
It was then time to go and pick up all the goodies which included lots of good armour and war hammers.
Going north, I collected some belts, went invisible and ended up at the Friendly Arms Inn.
After sleeping I charmed a caravan guard who killed Tarnesh for me, though he himself was badly hurt.
We then went to fight some hobgoblins who surprisingly were strong enough to kill the guard, but not me.
The guard had both a good sword and some mithril chain armour. ![]()
Headed north and killed the zombie husband of his distressed wife.
@Wise: With all that charming you're doing, don't be surprised if karma happens and your game ends because you got...charmed. ![]()

Diary of Lightbringer
At Level 4, I went to help some fishermen, but upon learning that they had decieved me I changed sides.
I then headed to High Hedge and tried to help Mellicamp.
(I have been unable to help him in all of my games with this set-up so decided to do a test. "20 times in a row I was unable to help him. This makes me think that perhaps I have a bug. Any suggestions?)
@Wise: Essentially the game is flipping a coin - while getting heads 20 times in a row is very unlikely, it IS quite possible. Computers are notorious for being lousy random generators. They are even worse, if the programmer doesn't properly seed the random generator with a variable seed (such as time). Also, code-wise, I don't know when the random number is generated e.g., could it be done when you first meet melicamp? Without knowing a lot more, it's hard to say.
I would suggest making a new character, go straight to Melicamp and try reviving him - if that one succeeds, then your current character was just destined to not.

Just done what you suggested with 8 different characters. With all of them he died. As I mentioned earlier. He has not survived in ANY of my games with this set-up.
Tried to create a sorcerer and there was no antichickenator spell there. In previous set-ups there has been. Wondering if it is due to using a different tutu installer. Used to use USoutpost. Now using the most up-to-date version. ![]()
ANYBODY KNOW THE NAME OF THE ANTICHICKENATOR SPELL?
