@Grimwald, what you might try is to cast a Teleport Field near the entrance to Candlekeep. Maybe it gets you into the citadel for free (just a thought really, never tried this myself).

@Grimwald - sorry to hear about your party member attacking the guard. That's happened to me a few times, such as when I saved the dukes, but he went hostile after giving him the evidence, which meant he never unlocked the Thieve's Maze - thus, though my PC wasn't dead, my game was effectively over.

And to answer your question - you can immediately talk to the guard and get teleported inside Candlekeep.

@Corey, thanks for your good wishes :)
Here's a first update (no major progress yet).

Scintilla, Gnome Cleric/Illusionist (first update)

After Gorion's shocking death on the Lion's Way at the hands of a warrior-led group of brigands that were after her, Scintilla ran into Imoen and brought the well-meaining but impetuous girl back to Candlekeep, and made arrangements for Gorion's burial. The Gnome herself was not welcomed back into the citadel, so she traveled to Beregost to meet with her old acquaintance Firebead Elvenhair. She would have preferred living in the woods, but her knowledge of herbalism, foods and potions was insufficient for that due to having lived a cloistered life for as long she could remember. Instead, she followed Firebead's advice to deal with four Huge Spiders for his neighbor Landrin, a Gnome like herself who had taken refuge at the FAI. She put the Spiders to Sleep easily enough, but found herslef exceedingly slow at killing them, so she asked her rabbit familiar Gale to help out. He did so reluctantly.

Spoiler
Scintilla did a number of simpler errands, including enabling the reclusive mage Thalantyr to restore his chickenated apprentice, and then traveled to the FAI with some of Landrin's possessions.

On her way she put a rogue Ogre to Sleep, and at the inn she encountered an evil-looking wizard in front of the entrance. Scintilla walked past him, Sanctuaried. Inside she was dismayed with the fact that the otherwise friendly inkeeper Bentley dispelled her Sanctuary with an Oracle. (I understand that enemies can do this sometimes as well. A frightening thought, and a phenomenon I don't agree with.) She met with two old friends of Gorion's but politely declined their offer to travel with her. She then handed Landrin's belongings to her fellow Gnome, had a brief chat, and left again. She was astounded to see that the man was still there waiting at the entrance because hours had passed. It turned out he had been waiting for her. Like the bandits on the Lion's Way, this man wanted her head.

Spoiler
She was low on memorized spells (hadn't rested), but found herself almost instinctivley cast Blindness on her foe while he was in the process of casting a spell himself.
Spoiler
This resulted in the wizard's spell being cancelled and in a race that ended with Scintilla silencing her opponent for good.
Spoiler
North of the FAI, Scintilla retrieved a bowl from three evil fishermen for a young cleric named Tenya
Spoiler
before she traveled south again, this time all the way to Nashkel. There she slew another Bounty Hunter together with Gale.
Spoiler
She also accepted a commission for the Amnish guard: to bring back their former captain, Brage, who had gone on a murdering spree. She found him west of Nashkel, close to the shores of the south Sword Coast, after she helped an archaeologist there and after she slew Brage's hostile cousin (due to a misclick on my part)) with a Blindness and two Hold Persons. It yielded her an enchanted Small Shield. Brage himself was remarkably calm, and willing to return to Nashkel with her to atone for his actions that had been the consequence of wielding a cursed greatsword rather than manifestations of his own will. Another job she completed was to retrieve two stolen emeralds from an artist named Prism, after defeating a contender for the bounty, Greywolf.
Spoiler
This took a long time, because Scintilla and Gale failed to kill Blinded and then Held Greywolf before the Hold effect wore off. It caused still Blinded Greywolf to run around a lot.

The same strategy worked better in Beregost's Red Sheaf inn against yet another bounty hunter, Karlat, thanks to the confinement of the inn.

With a good reputation plus Friends she acquired a Helm of Charm Protection, a Sling +1, a Shield Amulet, a Necklace of Missiles and three containers (potion bag, scroll case, gem bag) at very reasonable prices. At Thalantyr's Scintilla purchased a number of scrolls, but she scribed only spells of the Illusion/Phantasm school (which thanks to her being an Illusionist required no INT buffs for 100% certainty of successful copying into spellbook). Her most important new spells are Invisibility and Mirror Image.

South of Thalantyr's abode, Scintilla ran into Bassilus the murdere of whom she had heard mention in Beregost. She Silenced, Held, and Blinded him, interrupted his Sanctuary with the last charge of her Wand of MMs, and pelted him with sling bullets until he went down.

Spoiler
The only spells Bassilus managed to cast were two Unholy Blights but they didn't affect Scintilla. She took the priest's enchanted Warhammer and his holy symbol, and then returned to Beregost where she received from Keldath Ormlyr the Morninglord a 5000 GP reward for having dealt with Bassilus.

Character record and inventory screen:

Spoiler
In my playthrough with Kathlen I had her specialize in dualwielding (possible with BG2 Tweaks) and use various items upgraded by Thalantyr (Thalantyr item upgrades mod). This time I want to take a more vanilla approach, at least in BG1. So no Thalantyr items, and no more than one pip in TWS. For this reason, Scintilla's third pip (after her starting profs of Clubs and Slings) went to Warhammers, for the Ashideena. Her robe of choice will be the Robe of the Neutral Archmagi. In BG2 I do want to get Cromwell to craft ItemUpgrades' Fulcrum Club +4, because it such a cool weapon (sets proficiency in clubs to grandmastery, and deals extra damage depending on alignment in the same way the Equalizer does).

I don't think that teleport field is available in BG1. Please correct me if I am wrong. Would dimension door work? I think it only works for one person, but could well be wrong. I am no expert in that spell.

@Grimwald, it seems the same goes for my install. I thought Kathlen had that spell at the end of BG1, but I just checked and she didn't. Your only option would be a Sorcerer NPC (if you have one in your install).
No idea about Dimension Door. You could give it a shot, would be a cool solution.

Sorry to hear about your guard trouble Wise.  :(

Teleport Field can be selected by sorcerers in BG1, however, Teleport Field wouldn't work since it is party friendly. You'd need an enemy to cast Teleport Field for you.

If your PC could cast Dimension Door then he or she could use it to clear the wall, however, the party would be left on the other side. Killing the party and raising them inside would be a potential solution. Note that this would only work if the PC could cast Dimension Door.

The only way over the door that I see is console use. It's up to you to decide whether that would be appropriate. If it were me, I'd consider this run over and start a new character, but there are other ways of looking at it.

Best of luck going forward- whatever you decide.

Best,

A.

Drizzt cannot cast dimension door, therefore I think it is game over. I don't want to cheat my way through.

Gate70/Grond0 multiplayer attempt 76 - (update 1)

Deana, half-elf transmuter (Grond0) & Rhunn, half-elf sorcerer (Gate70)

After Ruff and Justice fell prematurely yesterday we rolled up a fresh couple of lambs to the slaughter.

The random choice of character classes this time produced a couple of arcane types, which will need a fair bit of looking after.  That was immediately shown in Candlekeep as both of them took damage - Deana being forced to seek some healing at the temple to avoid dying during the cut-scene with Gorion.

Spoiler

Shoal was blinded for easy execution and blind was also used on Silke while doing a number of other tasks around Beregost.  Karlat just survived all the spell damage they could dish out from their own resources, but a LMD scroll proved to be the straw that broke his back.

Spoiler

Hentold handed over a decent dagger to Rhunn and Deana managed to blind Meilum to get his bracers (by that time having learnt invisibility to make travelling around easier).

With the green scroll of PfP in hand they then went to the basilisk area, but found progress there to be difficult.  The basilisks seemed to be switching to melee attack on Rhunn quite frequently (possibly due to him using a dagger and therefore getting close to attack them) and he had to use healing potions against being poisoned by the southern greater basilisk.  He didn't heal in full when the poison ended though and that proved costly when he was hit again.

Spoiler

That could easily have been the end of the run, but Deana just managed to get round the end of a rock pillar before the basilisk could focus its gaze on her.

Spoiler

After a trip to the temple Deana decided to let her familiar tank the basilisks - but that proved to be a bad idea!

Spoiler

In theory all familiars should be immune to petrification, but either the quasit is an exception to that or, more likely, the protection is affected by a MP glitch.  Back again with a new familiar, PfP scrolls were used to finish off the southern basilisks (Deana can't learn PfP).  Korax was then recruited to sort out the northern lot, while Mutamin chased Rhunn in vain trying to get a word and only succeeded in getting acid arrows and magic missiles.

Against the party Korax succeeded in paralysing Kirian before dying.  Baerin was blinded, but with Peter still a danger the duo ran to the north to try and get Lindin on his own.  That appeared to have worked until Kirian decided to turn up (I think her AI still reacting to the intention to attack implanted before she was paralysed, as she crossed nearly the whole map to find us) and a painful lightning bolt was launched before Deana could go invisible.

Spoiler

Kirian was already badly injured though and spell damage finished her off before she could try anything further.  Lindin also died before the duo had a rest - allowing a newly-learned stinking cloud to render the other 2 helpless.

Spoiler

We're running a spot the difference competition between our characters (which were independently generated).  Don't you just hate it when you turn up to a party to find someone's already there wearing the same outfit as you ...
Deana%20L5_zpsy4fvockf.jpg
Rhunn%20L5_zpsme06cx0o.jpg

Stats:

Deana, transmuter 5, 36 HPs (incl. 12 from familiar), 27 kills

Rhunn, sorcerer 5, 24 HPs, 33 kills, 1 death

Little Bully re-entering the fray but called Sapper Steelskin this time. For those who do not remember him, he is an evil svirfneblin Fighter/Illusionist.

He is solo this time and has an aversion to killing. He has vowed that he will never kill anyone, though he doesn't mind being responsible for deaths, a bit like those responsible for safety at the Bhopal Gas Plant.

I think of him as like a person that I knew who made his millions playing the stock market. He felt guilty about it so to ease his conscience and make himself more popular, gave quite a lot to charity, but not enough to risk his lifestyle. He doesn't want to think of himself as evil, but knows deep down that he is and would like to change. Perhaps he will. We will see. :)

In other words, self-centred but with a longing to be liked. A lot of people like that! :(

Str 18/53 Dex 19 Con 17 Int 19 Wis 14 Cha 1.

Being svirfneblin gets 30% reduction in experience, 50% magical resistance, Blur Invisibility and Mirror Image once per day. +1 to dexterity and wisdom, -1 to constitution and -2 to charisma. +4 bonus to AC. +20% to stealth (Not really applicable for a fighter/illusionist.) +1 to hit v kololds, goblins and hobgoblins.

To avoid over reliance on Algernon's Cloak, I am using the self-imposed restriction of limiting its use to charming one creature/day.

I will try and use other tactics as much as possible. Charm spells, Lord Foreshadow's ring. The natural antipathy of some creatures towards others (Hobgoblins and guards/ Mine Guards and Greywolf/ Karlat and Silke, etc. etc.) This to stop the game becoming boring.

Diary of Sapper Steelskin

I tried stealing one potion too many and as a result the guard came to sort me out and the cleric who had given me one potion turned hostile. I ran away to the training room closely followed by irate enemies. I was injured on the way, down to 1 HP so I took a potion of healing and of oil of speed from Deder and used them as quickly as possible.

I asked to leave the room before the fighting started in earnest and with my newly found speed I was enabled to empty a couple more chests without being caught.

I then went to talk to Gorion and it was then that everything started going wrong for he was killed by a group of assassins. Fortunately I escaped to Candlekeep where I arranged for his burial. However, they wouldn't let me in, so I returned to the ambush site where I found some containers and an identify scroll.

@Grond0/Gate70: Your pairing looks tough in the early going, but could easily end up very powerful Mid-SoA - try to make it! And watch out for jellies...

@Alesia_BH: Best of luck for your Swashbuckler, though I know you try not to rely on luck. Your character must go through a lot of darts...

Scintilla, Gnome Cleric/Illusionist (second update)

Scintilla continued her exploration of the Sword Coast and her search for clues as to why there was a price on her head in some of the less obvious regions (but then, the most obvious place to look, Baldur's Gate, had been locked up).
She had Gale disarm a number of traps in a pirate cave on the coast in order for her to loot its treasure, used Skeletons to deal with Basilisks (and their master),

Spoiler
stole a Tome of Understanding from Durlag's Tower (where more Basilisks fell; MSD allowed her to go through a trapped hallway that led outside at no risk), witnessed her Skeletons defeat a big-mouthed but Blinded fighter near the Firewine Bridge,
Spoiler
and used many Sleep spells to eradicate an Ankheg plague.
Spoiler
In Ulgoth's Beard Scintilla bought a variety of higher level spell scrolls, an investment for the future, as well as a Cloak of Deflection, and near Durlag's Tower she purchased a Wand of Fire from a fence.

She used that wand to purge the Nashkel Mines.

Spoiler
The lands surrounding a secret mine exit also received a cleansing from Scintilla. Protected by Free Action she rid those lands of its undead denizens,
Spoiler
except of course her own Skeletons (gotta remain pragmatic), who were instrumental in the elimination of an evil wizard and his summoned Mustard Jellies.
Spoiler
Back in Nashkel, she was thanked and rewarded by the mayor, but attacked by an assassin. The Gnome retreated and asked the Amnish guards to help her out, which they did. At one point the assassin panicked, which Scintilla took as a sign to appear to finish off her foe, but her appearance seemed to help him overcome his panic. He went invisible and cast MI, but Scintilla, more or less aware of his whereabouts, fried him with a Fireball (from wand).
Spoiler
A letter on the assassin's corpse led her to a contact of his, residing at Feldepost's in Beregost. The contact was more interested in killing her than in revealing any information. She Scorched him (wand), he then Enfeebled her, and she in turn countered with a Strength of One, allowing her to finish him off with her hammer.
Spoiler
More correspondence made it clear to her that the ones who were after her, were also the ones that had set up the Iron Crisis and the bandit plague. She still needed a name though.

Somehow those people knew that she knew, it seemed, as the number of ambushes by bounty hunters and assassins increased. Even remote areas such as the Cloudpeaks or a Gnoll Stronghold became unsafe for Scintilla.

Spoiler
(This was funny: Lamalha & co spawned at a point where they couldn't reach Scintilla. They only managed to summon Skeletons on the bridge, while Scintilla threw Fireballs at her opponents.) On the North Coast she had violent dealings with an evil Ogre Mage and its lying accomplice, a Nereid. Scintilla successfully cast Emotion on the Ogre to finish it off with her Skeletons with no trouble.
Spoiler
Instead of looking for a place to hide, the Gnome eventually decided to seek out her enemy. It meant first locating their Bandit Camp in the Wood of Sharp Teeth. She thought to foist herself into their ranks via a bandit named Teven she met in Larswood, but this Teven and especially his superior, a Half-Ogrish brute named Tazok, turned out not to trust her. (This was a nice surprise. Normally I tell Teven in Larswood that I like the killing or Raiken in Peldvale that I know which way the wind is blowing. This time I didn't get the option to tell Teven that I like the killing, and I was taken aback by the fact that Tazok would not be sweet-talked with Charname's usual lines.
Spoiler
I actually stressed a bit here, because in my BGT install Tazok can insta-kill the PC from a distance, without actually hitting them.)Tazok applied an oil of speed and attacked (the others didn't, yet). Scintilla also applied an oil of speed so as to keep her pursuer at a distance. She saw her attempt at paralyzing the warrior with her wand fail due to her foe's well-timed quaffing of a potion of freedom, so she decided to go invisible as soon as she could. She snuck into one of the tents and found it heavily guarded. She buffed with two potions of fire protection, and various spells (MI, Shield, MSD and Remove Fear), and then paralyzed a wizard. A couple of Fireballs later,
Spoiler
Scintilla and an elven prisoner were the only ones standing. She released the Elf and he gave the name she wanted to know: the Iron Throne, with a hidden base in Cloakwood.

In the vast Cloakwood Scintilla had run-ins with Spiders and their mistress Centeol (I did this to get the Wand of Frost from Centeol, which would become an important tool not much later),

Spoiler
and with Amarande the Shadow Archdruid. The latter wasted various spells on her in his treehouse where she would descend the stairs and eventually leave the premises in order to avoid his magics. Her buffed Skeletons (PfE 10' Radius, Strength of One, Defensive Harmony) meant the end of Amarande. (Again, this encounter was chosen for an item Amarande drops: the Root of the Problem +1, +3 vs unnatural creatures, +1 acid damage; good against Doppelgangers.)
Spoiler
When she finally found the Iron Throne base, a hard battle awaited her. She approached four guards under the cover of Invisibility and Sanctuary in hopes of making her way past them and surprising them from the back. But an Oracle cast by one of two wizards dispelled both the Invisibility and the Sanctuary (I repeat that I don't think Sanctuary should be vulnerable to detection spells, but soit). The four immediately went after the unbuffed Gnome, one of them at an extraordinary pace. Scintilla applied an oil of speed; her foes buffed themselves as well. The warriors both drank potions of magic shielding, the wizards spell-buffed with Shields, PfNMs, MIs, Stoneskins, MGoIs, Haste (Kysus) and IIs or Shadow Doors. Scintilla managed to go Invisible right in front of her foes,
Spoiler
but saw that effect removed almost right away.
Spoiler
She applied a second oil of speed to get away from her attackers. A Chaos coming her way she thwarted with a potion of magic shielding.

Invisibly, she started to look for her foes and found them in pairs (the mages together and the warriors together) looking for her in different places. Away from all of them, Scintilla summoned Skeletons and buffed them as well as herself (PfE 10' Radius, Strength of One, Defensive Harmony), and she further buffed herself (MSD, Remove Fear, II). The Skeletons did little more than absorbing the wizards' spells before they fell, but an Emotion put one of the wizards to rest.

Spoiler
Two well-placed (wand) Scorchers did the other wizard in; the former was slain with the Ashideena.
Spoiler
The hasted warrior was Scorched as well (and relieved of his Boots of Speed of course), and the other warrior was Held before Scintilla smacked him down.
Spoiler

In the Iron Throne base, a mine, Scintilla met lots of slaves. She decided to try and release them (even though she knew that would cost her a couple of Invisibilities). To do so the Gnome had to free the slaves' spokesman from a prison. She had difficulty getting to that prison under the effect of Sanctuary because more and more guards came after her. When their numbers began to look dangerous, a triggered lightning trap somewhat assuaged her plight,
Spoiler
but the Gnome nevertheless had to go a long way round to access the prison and release the inmates, and confer with them on an escape plan.

On the final level of the mine, Scintilla faced the Iron Throne executive, a wizard called Davaeorn and his two Battle Horror minions. She was buffed with PfFire, an oil of speed, MSD, and a potion of defense among other things, but Davaeorn removed those protections.

Spoiler
Scintilla considered casting PfMagic on herself from a green scroll but decided to suffice with another MSD. She then used a couple of charges from her Wand of Frost to finish off the Battle Horrors and to injure Davaeorn.
Spoiler
Slaying the wizard with that wand would be a waste of his loot, so she summoned two Skeletons and dispatched him with old-fashioned fistycuffs.
Spoiler
Scintilla looted Daveorn's coffers, and with the help of one of the slaves she flooded the Cloakwood mine. She then traveled to Baldur's Gate, the seat of the Iron Throne's local headquarters, and was pleased to see the city gates opened.

Dyara, elven Fighter/Mage/Thief - take 14 (update 13)

Day 123 (3 Eleint) - Ulgoth's Beard

Some weeks ago when they were on the werewolf island Neera had asked Dyara to seek out an old wildmage named Adoy for he could probably teach her how to control her magics. And so they set out for 'Adoy's Enclave'.

Day 127 (7 Eleint)

It took them four days the reach the Firewine Bridge but unfortunately a big bug was blocking their way so they had to take the route through the Valley of the Tombs. Finally close to midnight they arrived at Adoy's Enclave. Adoy however was captured by some goblins reigned by a hobgoblin. But that reign was ended quickly and Adoy was released.

Day 128 (8 Eleint)

But then unfortunately Ekandor appeared, trying to capture Adoy and Neera - unfortunately for Ekandor that is, because he and his lackeys went down easily.

Spoiler

Neera got a belt from Adoy while Dyara found a scroll of stoneskin on Ekandor. Once their business there was finished they set out for Baldur's Gate hoping that perhaps the events at candlekeep were forgotten by now.

Day 129 (9 Eleint)

At the Friendly Arm Inn they said good-bye to Neera.

Neera: 9,037 XP, 12 kills, Vampiric Wolf, Wildmage(5), 14/20 HP, died 1x

Day 130 (10 Eleint)

As they stepped through the city gates Dyara had to realise that nothing was forgotten, they still were wanted. They also learned that Scar was killed and Duke Eltan was diseased. At the docks they were attacked by some dark moon monks and only moments later they were hunted by a flaming fist mercenary. They ran away... just into another flaming fist mercenary but that one hadn't recognised them. They fled into the sewers only to become attacked by Ratchild and his kobolds.

Day 131 (11 Eleint)

After fighting some more dark moon monks they learned about a dark moon temple on the cloud peak mountain.

Day 132 (12 Eleint)

Dyara met Tamako in front of the Flaming Fist Headquarters. Tamako told her about Slythe and Krystin, two assassins who had killed Entar Silvershield and who would probably kill the other Dukes as well. While there Dyara tried to rescue Duke Eltan...

Spoiler

Unfortunately Duke Eltan called the guards when Dyara tried to save not just him but also his belongings.

Spoiler

There was no chance to save the Duke, so Dyara had to leave without him.

Dyara helped the bard Rinnie and was rewarded with a scroll ... and with a potion of invisibility she took from a chest on the 2nd floor. In front of the Blushing Mermaid they met Husam who revealed himself as a shadow thief. He told them of the two assassins in the undercellars also.

The party rested in the Splurging Surgeon and in the morning for the second time Dyara tried to rescue Duke Eltan but he was still guarded by... guards. So instead Dyara agreed to help Rasaad by searching for the monastery of the dark moon monks.

Day 133 (13 Eleint)

At the Friendly Arm Inn they took Kivan in.

Day 134 (14 Eleint)

At High Hedge they bought all the invisibility scrolls, also a flame arrow scroll to scribe for Xan (he had refused to scribe the spell for quite a few times).

Day 136 (16 Eleint)

At midnight they reached the cloud peaks. Fighting Dark Moon monks and Ice Trolls Alora gained her final level-up. Inside the monastery Kivan reached level 3. Also the party found a potion of invisibility. To Rasaad's surprise his brother Gamaz wasn't dead but had turned to Shar and her dark moon monks. Rasaad hat to kill his brother (well, actually Dyara did because it would had taken forever for Rasaad to do it on his own).

Day 139 (19 Eleint)

At midnight they reached Wyrm's Crossing where they were attacked by Imanel Silversword who was send by Tazok to kill Kivan. In that fight Dyara became paralysed by a vampiric wolf (but no problem as Xan immediately had casted invisibility on her).

Day 140 (20 Eleint)

For the third time they went for the Flaming Fist Headquarters to rescue Duke Eltan. Dyara had told her group to wait for her in a nearby house but in the chosen house they became attacked by Wiven and her thief friends. After dispatching them Dyara went into Duke Eltan's room and fortunately the guards were gone. Dyara took the Duke (and his belongings) and brought him to the harbor master. After resting in the Elf Song they went for the Undercellars where they found (or were found by) Slythe and Krystin...

Spoiler

Dyara uh um... decided to play along perhaps to get some more informations from the two assassins.

Spoiler

While Dyara learned a few things neither did she gained any new informations about the planed assassination of the two remaining dukes nor was she able to convince Slythe and Krystin to abandon their plans. So a fight was inevitable.

Dyara used one of her two potions of invisibility, buffed herself (potion of strength, oil of speed, mirror image, blur, minor spell deflection), backstabbed Slythe and some moments later he was dead.

Spoiler

That made Krystin drop out of invisibility. Dyara lured her out of the small room into the hallway where she became the target of Dyara's companions as well.

Spoiler

On Slythe's body Dyara found some important papers and an invitation to the duke's palace. From Cythandria they got Sarevok's diary and two letter send by Slythe to Sarevok.

As the inauguration of Sarevok was about to take place in the evening Dyara and her group still had some time ro rest and prepare for whatever was to come.

Just as they entered the palace the ceremony was about to start...

Spoiler

... and became interrupted...

Spoiler

Immediately Sarevok caused his doppelgangers to attack. But a 'chaos' spell by Xan made then attack each other and so they were easily killed.

Spoiler

Both Dukes survived with only minor injuries.

Spoiler

Sarevok himself then attacked and killed Rasaad but was teleported away by Winski Perorate.

Spoiler

Duke Belt revealed the destination of the teleportation and teleported the group there as well... unfortunately as they hadn't taken Rasaad's items so they had to go back to the palace the get the things.

After buying some more equipment, for example Alora got the Sparkburst bow from Black Lily, it was time to say good-bye to Rasaad and Kivan.

Rasaad: 12,998 XP, 41 kills, Wolfwere, Sun Soul Monk(6), 42/48 HP, died 4x
Kivan: 7,635 XP, 12 kills, Greater Doppelganger, Ranger(4), 36/40 HP, died 1x

The remaining three then went after Sarevok...

Dyara: 645,546 XP, 1357 kills, Aec'Letec, F(6)/M(6)/T(7), 59/69 HP
Xan: 67,305 XP, 176 kills, Greater Wyvern, Enchanter(9), 22/36 HP, died 3x
Alora: 85,384 XP, 94 kills, Imanel Silversword, Thief(10), 38/60 HP, died 4x

... to be continued.

But then unfortunately Ekandor appeared, trying to capture Adoy and Neera - unfortunately for Ekandor that is, because he and his lackeys went down easily.

Unfortunately Duke Eltan called the guards when Dyara tried to save not just him but also his belongings.

Very entertaining stuff. The second quote had me LOL, very recognizable.
Also interesting business with Slythe and Krystin...

Anyway, wishing you the best with the maze, the Iron Throne henchmen (if you fight them) and Sarevok & co of course!

@Golden, looking forward to reading about your new Eren.

Eren first and final update BG1
Berserker (/cleric or druid soon)

This is going to be the shortest BG1 report I ever made, with only 3 screenshots. I will report on the most important things in this 4 hour- 'speed'-run. I'm describing the steps I took. All in all it was kinda close in the end..

Schermafdruk%202015-04-15%2013.40.33_zps

-I decided to do things as fast as possible without much roleplaying, starting with getting the clarity potion, diamant and rings, and doing the basilisks. I got hit by a basilisk but Eren saved and he had to rage when mutamin cast charm at him. Otherwise no problems.

-From there Eren went to buy invisibility scrolls, potion case and some potions, scroll of PfM, and 40 acid arrows. I got plenty of money by selling the rings, (actually getting 9000 free gold the first minute of the game is kinda cheap, but whatever :)). Really, Thalantyr has just everyting I need.. I also picked up Kivan.

-Then I went to the carnaval for the fireball necklace, which I cant live without, pick up Edwin and the ankheg armor which is sold.

-Then grab the ice-wand from nashkel mines, do greywolf and prism, and go all the way back to the top of the map getting the ankheg treasure (fireball wand!)from the lair and slaying 3 or 4. Identify the wands and here we go!

-Do the mines invisible and fireball Mulahey. Do the camp invisible. Then do Edwins quest invisible without slaying a single gnoll.

-Kill the 5000xp nymph and her sirens, kill the pirate sirens with web and clouds and loot the cave, kill the golems with acid arrows. I also avoid all ambushes.

-Next is Daeveorn. Kill Drasus and co with fireballs, get to the mage invisible and do the scroll of PfM with fireballnecklace thing. I noticed a weird thing where all the summoned guards seek out Daeveorn which make him and them very easy targets :S.. A bit too easy.. Still a hairy fight because of the elites which are more powerfull with SCS.

-Kill bassilus and wyvern, collect 7000 GP and kill the priest and his sirens.

-Collect books and 6000 GP in Baldurs gate, do minor shopping, kill the eight with fireballs, sell their stuff.

-Adopt Coran in the team. Collect books from candlekeep with his 100skill lockpics. Do the rest invisible.
(ogre mages were a pain again.., but I stomped them down as they dont do much damage).

-Kill Slythe with ranged fire and spider fodder. Kill dopplegangers with Kivans and Corans superior firepower from distance at the ceremony, do last shopping for potions and arrows, do the maze with a pfM scroll, running to the end invisible.

-Kill the last iron throne party with fireball tactics, buff up and challenge Sarevok and his 4.

-This is where things got hairy. Kivan and Coran were only level 6 and 7, pathetic really.. So even buffed they didnt hit much. On the other side, Diarmid hit every time with arrows of biting. This isnt the biggest problem because of buffing and healing on my archers, but being low levelled ment their moral broke sooner then normal im guessing.. So Coran got scared and got gunned down by Diarmid, and then the exact same happened to Kivan.
Now thats lame... :(
(On a side note I used Edwin to cast an inspire courage at the scared archers but of course it didnt work because of the scrolls of pfM.. He got slain in seconds with arrows and a lightning bolt).
(also, Angelo at one point cast a CHAOS AT INVISIBLE EREN.. Im serious, this seems like a major bug. Eren got confused and attacked Diarmid, but I made Kivan and Coran shoot EREN WITH DISPELLING ARROWS, which worked.. He gulped an invis potion immidiately). Close as hell.

-So all my men were dead except Eren. I used two fireball neclaces (one you buy at the carnaval, one at an inn in east area BG) to kill the mages and shot down Tazok with acid arrows.

-Eren had some trouble with fire-immune Diarmid but buffed and 19 strength ment 7 thaco so the biting arrows did connect on occasion. I did had to go through almost all potions by then ha ha.

Schermafdruk%202015-04-15%2018.23.12_zps

-The skeletons took way too long to kill with acid arrows so Eren flailed them down by drawing them out.. he is a powerful berserker after all :).

-When only Sarevok was left I shot him and fireball necklaced him down. I tried to hit him with my flail but just couldnt and he hit for 25 damage at the least. So it took a while because Eren had only 1 gimped attack per round with a slooowww longbow. And the haste potion run out. But after a while and by casting DUHM twice doing about 14 damage per hit, the big armored guy fell.

So this was very close and it took all my resources and skill.. But it was fun nonetheless! Eren is only a measly level 7, but on the other hand it only took me 4 hours so its worth it. Im looking forward to BG2. I want to take Valygar and either Korgan or Mazzy, and Im thinking Jan or Neera.
More importantly, I dont want to die, so I wont take many risks.
Thanks for reading.

Cheers!

@Blackraven: Good luck to you (and Grimwald, Grond0/Gate70, Alesia as well). I just hope I've finished before you do :D.

@Golden: Congratulations :).

Gate70/Grond0 multiplayer attempt 76 - (update 2)

Deana, half-elf transmuter (Grond0) & Rhunn, half-elf sorcerer (Gate70)

This pair of sorcerous sundries made further progress through the Sword Coast yesterday.  At level 5 most enemies were already pretty easy for them as they travelled round boosting their reputation.  Screenshots taken were a bit haphazard, but the following show:

- the end of Tarnesh (he was blinded before being mercifully put to death).

Spoiler

- Teyngan woke up in a stinking cloud in time to chase Rhunn, but he cleverly skirted the cloud causing Teyngan to run into it again and collapse.

Spoiler

- the Doomsayer got a final burst of magic missiles from Deana after just managing to survive Rhunn's onslaught while Deana ran him round.

Spoiler

- the only intended assault which looked a bit dodgy was on Bassilus.  He avoided an initial blinding attempt while some of his undead survived his conversation and targeted Rhunn.  He was mirrored and acting true to his name, but could still have easily been in trouble if he had failed his saving throw against a hold person.

Spoiler

- Zal being bemused that his friend had not warned him of danger (Vax never got close enough to talk to us).

Spoiler

There was also a somewhat comical chase sequence in Zal's area when Rhunn started running from a group including a winter wolf.  He intended to pick them off over time, as he'd often done successfully before, but this time he kept running into more and more enemies.  Deana was stuck on the other side of the map and just received the occasional astral message along the lines of "you might have to come and pick up the pieces".  However, a few healing potions kept Rhunn going until the duo eventually managed to join up again.

With reputation at 19 the duo went to the ankheg area.  Deana was keen to test her mettle (and her sleep spells) against the ankhegs, but Rhunn wasn't delighted about big gobs of acid being fired at fragile mages and led the way out after only a couple of ankhegs had been killed.  Farmer Brun provided them with a final good word allowing some cheap shopping at Ulgoth's Beard - even managing to afford the ring of invisibility.

The Nashkel mine was passed through invisibly on the way to find Mulahey.  He was offered a stinking cloud, but before expiring in that he caught a glimpse of Rhunn and came charging out.  A few spells had him at near death and running, but he did manage to summon some allies to provide a brief distraction.  With those out of the way the duo looked around, but saw no trace of Mulahey's body.  Presuming that he'd run outside they exited and a single magic missile spell from Rhunn finished off the cleric.  However, 2 of the 3 kobolds outside managed to hit Deana with criticals at the same time and she was pleased they didn't follow her back inside.

Spoiler

The amazons were targeted with web / stinking cloud, along with a couple of blinds, and stood no real chance - particularly with Rhunn by this time having added MMM to his repertoire to make him even more deadly against incapacitated opponents.

Spoiler

Stats:

Deana, transmuter 6, 39 HPs (incl. 12 from familiar), 81 kills

Rhunn, sorcerer 6, 29 HPs, 83 kills, 1 death

Eren, congrats. Scintilla hopes to join you soon in Amn.
Btw, Chaos hitting an invisible character isn't a bug I'd say. An invisible character cannot be targeted by single target spells, but AoE spells can still affect them.

Grond0, Gate70, have fun!
