Fancy vid there Aasim! And good use of your AoE spells :)

:D

Bargon, 5th BG1 update

Again very brief - Cloakwood forest is done. We are now standing in front of mine entrance. I decided to fight the bunch there, had a few rough edges but all was ok.

We assaulted by flapping Ice Storm, Confusion, a Skull Trap and a Flame Arrow. One of the mages died instantly, the 2nd didn't - but got a Wand of Paralyzation hit instead.

15_zpscsmevhb9.jpg

16_zpswxyx9q4l.jpg

For some weird reason, Kysus, even if paralyzed, had gone invisible. I noticed that since screen was overflowing messages "Spell ineffective" (he was staying in AoE of Spikes). Well, I got means to deal with that crap  -  hence no problem.

17_zpswavz0ba8.jpg

We should be fighting Davaeorn soon - actually, Bargon should be doing it alone under Pro Magic scroll. :P

Multiplayer attempt 1: Epsil0 and his younger brother (who has no account here). Let's call him DragonFire.

So my 13-year-old brother finally got what he wanted: an attempt at the no-reload challenge multiplayer. He hasn't even gotten past the Bandit Camps playing by himself, so this is going to be a rather interesting run for the both of us. For him, due to learning some of the quirkier/better gameplay tricks no-reloaders use. For me, desperately trying to keep him alive.

Introduction: Lucette, Female Gnome CG Cleric/Thief, played by me

Screen%20Shot%202015-04-20%20at%206.35.5

And Kurokuma, Male Human LN Kensai, with plans to dual to Mage in BG2, played by DragonFire

Screen%20Shot%202015-04-20%20at%206.35.5

Our proficiencies are one pip in Maces and Slings (I'm not investing in Stealth for awhile, and without Stealth there's no need for Backstabs) for Lucette, and the interesting/dubious choice of 2 pips in Longswords and 2 pips in Halberds for Kurokuma. Despite this, his most frequently used weapons are throwing knives.  :P

Game starts with buying as many items as we could, leaving us with one gold, then getting that one gold taken by the Watchers as Lucette is purposefully seen looting the chests upstairs. But the Star Sapphire we lift easily offsets that cost, giving us over a thousand gold before leaving Candlekeep. Gorion dies, and the journey starts in earnest. Imoen seemed somewhat buggy; I think this was due to my installing BG1NPC project and not duplicating the install for him. Whoops! She's not coming with us anyways, but this might have repercussions somewhere else...

We kill Shoal, save Melicamp, and calm Marl and get a book for Firebead, all the standard early-game stuff. I forget that enemies leave their zones much less frequently in Multiplayer, and so killing the spiders is noticeably easier, since we have to fight only one at a time. East to the Basilisks, Korax tanks all the gazes while the two of us do ranged mop-up. A tad dangerous with no actual protection, but without SCS improved AI, still decently safe. Only spells really cast have been CLW, with one or two Commands and Sanctuaries thrown in the mix.

The Ogre to the north is killed by a hail of daggers, and Tarnesh doesn't survive a Kensai blow getting through the MIs. We antagonize Dorn for the encounter, return the spider bits to Landrin, return a girdle, and most importantly sell Evermemory for 9k; this allows us to outfit Kurokuma with an ioun stone thanks to Rogue Rebalancing, and the Shield Amulet for him and the Necklace of Missiles for me gives us all the early-game gear we're likely to need. The Wands of Sleep and Fear are also bought for good measure. In Nashkel, this funny episode happened with Neira:

Screen%20Shot%202015-04-20%20at%207.42.3I decided to play riskily and started a Hold Person the same instance Neira did, and let both spells go off. Kumokura and Neira were both held, and only Lucette managed to make the save. My brother was laughing at this (we're playing in the same room,) since he's been rather proud that he's been able to get most of the kills thus far: the balance is something like 70/30, his favor. Now I get to grab a kill that he literally cannot stop me from getting.  :D

We kill Greywolf to get Kumokura his magic sword, also bringing Lucette's Thief to level 5. Trap setting is now maxed out. In the mines, the Kensai easily kills off more kobolds than the Cleric/Thief, though there was a facepalm moment as I had to tell him how to activate the Shield Amulet so he didn't continue getting hit by non-critical hits. Mulahey is tagged with a Silence, and as customary he just stands there and dies while we slice him to death. Amazons are tagged by 2 Silences, covering everyone, and we go up close and initiate combat. The scripts force both the archer and the dart-thrower to swap to melee, and when they're clumped, a Hold Person covering all of the remaining three connects with all, and down the ladies go.

Back in Nashkel, we've just finished killing Nimbul: again, Hold Person neutralizes the fight.

Lucette: 4/5 Cleric/Thief.

Kumokura: 5 Kensai.

Rifft - dwarf swashbuckler (update 1)

I've currently got Brat and his party in Amn and will continue with that at some point.  However, that's both a party run and role-played, so feels like hard work to make progress and I decided I would have a break and do a bit of single-player.

Following recent discussions I thought I might see if I could check out a swashbuckler's abilities in ToB.  I previously succeeded in the challenge with one of those using a basic BGT installation and have cloned that character to see what he can do in a modded installation (including SCS, Ascension, aTweaks among others).  I've never completed or even been near to completing the game using those mods, so I don't really fancy his chances, but we'll see.

I previously had the Randomiser in this installation as well, but have removed that in order to make things a bit easier for Rifft.  The Weidu log is now as follows:
Spoiler
To also increase his chances I won't be consciously trying to apply my normal restrictions (such as not using healing items), though I may have trouble overcoming ingrained tendencies there :P.

Swashbuckler fighting abilities take a long time to mature, so most of his work in the early stages of the game is likely to be done using his trusty crossbow ...

Best of luck with Rifft, Grond0! I look forward to his run!

To be clear, I do think swashbucklers are well suited to SCS/Ascension play. As mentioned earlier, I can't think of a particular encounter that should stop a swash. Additionally, range fighting is often the best approach in the Ascension endgame and a high level swashbuckler should make an excellent range fighter.

My only real concern with the swashbuckler kit is that in the endgame it's not particularly well positioned to execute its canonical playing style. I wouldn't be surprised to see Rift defeat Mel and the 5, but I might be surpised to see him beat them by relying primarily on toe-to-toe dual wielding sans-scrolls and Time Stops. It's easier for me to image a blade or an F/T pullng that off. I'd be happy to be surprised though. It would be super cool if Rifft could make that work.

Good hunting!

Best,

A.

Thanks Alesia - Rifft's made a safe start and got a lot of the initial grunt work out of the way.

Rifft - dwarf swashbuckler (update 2)

Rifft soon left Candlekeep behind and ventured out into the wide world.  In broad terms his plan was to quickly raise reputation before buying useful equipment.  He started that off by making a couple of donations at the Beregost temple before Firebead and Marl gave him his first level-up.

He stole a potion of invisibility from the Manor House in Beregost before shooting Mirianne's ogrillons and Landrin's spiders gave him another level.

At Nashkel, Oublek gave his reputation a further boost, while he nabbed more invisibility potions from the mayor's house and the Carnival potion seller.

Running and shooting Greywolf took a while, but Rifft was rewarded with a reputation boost, a nice melee weapon (in the event he gets around to trying that) and an upgrade to level 4.

Samuel was safely delivered to the FAI, with Rifft picking up an ogre's belt and a couple of magic rings on the journey.  He also restored another ring to Joia and returned Landrin's things after Tarnesh got scared and ran into the inn - resulting in him becoming Rifft's first melee victim.
Spoiler
That lot was just enough to push Rifft on to level 5 and get his first lot of swashbuckler fighting bonuses.

Melicamp was successfully restored, though it was a ticklish business getting hold of a skull to help him (Rifft is currently uninjured and I'm trying to keep it that way as long as possible, but keeping that record wasn't easy against wandering skeletons armed with throwing knives).

Ardrouine, Brage and the Dryad of the Cloudpeaks were all willing to put in a good word for Rifft on his way to the Gnoll Stronghold.  He successfully set a trap for the first time there to kill Gnarl and went on to recover the charisma tome.
Spoiler

Rifft was on his way to kill some half-ogres for Bjornin when he noticed Lord Foreshadow on the path.  That was lucky as I had forgotten that in this installation he hands over a Ring of Human Influence to those PCs lacking in charisma.
Spoiler
The half-ogres were soon taken down - by this stage Rifft is in the process of converting from exclusively ranged attacks to often using steathed melee attacks -
Spoiler
and Bjornin obliged by getting reputation up to 20.

With the Ring of Human Influence available, Algernon's cloak became attractive for its added charisma as a means to minimise shop prices.  A potion of master thievery gave Rifft a decent chance of pickpocketing that and he succeeded first time - thus not even turning Algernon hostile.
Spoiler
He'll be looking to get a bit more money next before going on a shopping spree.

Bargon, 6th BG1 update

We finished the mines w/o difficulty, but spent all our healing potions (I use that SCS option that enemies leave no potions at all when slain).

Davaeorn was approached invisibly and under Pro Magic scroll. Unfortunately, Bargon's AC isn't good enough to survive plenty of archers shooting at him, hence Invoker Blazus fired a Skull trap, revealing his invisibility cover to help vs Davaeorn. Druid would use Ice Storm, but his casting got interrupted.

18_zps8kjwppbk.jpg

The Skull Trap brough both Balzus and Davaeorn near-death, and they both died the following round.

19_zps42wlyr9k.jpg

The guards scattered, and we were off to Baldur's Gate.

First things first- buy some scrolls, potions and Detonation arrows (if you're curious why I don't ever use Dispel Arrows - it's because they're horribly expensive and allow a save vs it's effect = useless for No-Reload).

Here is Spell Revisions' substitute for Chaos spell (yes, I'll no longer spam it :D ). Waves of Fatigue.

20_zpse3ite3t8.jpg

Enemies will use it as well.

Regardless, I didn't waste much time in the city, stole documents invisibly and returned to Candlkeep. Prat was swiftly killed and w/o any more Mirrored Eyes potions a Magic Shielding was used to prevent petrification. It only lasts for 1 turn, so speed is of utter importance here.

21_zpswcuym54t.jpg

With that done, Krystin & Slythe got both Paralyzation Wand slapping.

22_zpsaxnrd33s.jpg

23_zpsgvxngdzm.jpg

Still under Pro Magic used vs Krystin, we kill the dopes in the palace (sorry, no screens - I wanted to make a video, but it bugged out and I have only first 8 seconds recorded :( ) - anyhow, Confusion and Waves of Fatigue prevented any attempts at killing the dukes. Their mage went in a small room and had no effect on the main part of the battle, and once every Dope was dead we killed him as well.

I'll record the battle vs Sarevok however- I hope succefully this time.

As I don't have Baltur's Gate 2 - Enhanced Edition yet and since I previously just played BG1 children version (w/o anything improved, smarter,...) I thought I'd give the SCS a try. Installation is as follows (BG1EE, romantic encounters, unfinished buisiness, npc project, SCS 30):

Spoiler

Char is exactly the same as before. Yeah, boring, I know :D but probably with so many new things at least I wanted to play a char I know. This time it will be a pure solo run - at least until I get to cloadwood forest ( I still want to play the Coran romance :D).

Dyara ready to leave Candlekeep:

Spoiler

So far everything went nice and smooth. The changes made by the SCS look really good. For example Shank poisoned his weapon before he got chunked.

Spoiler

Dyara had stayed away from spell casters (sneaking past Tarnesh) so far (I really don't know what will await me, so I decided to play it save and wait for higher levels). From Friendly Arm Inn Dyara went south her usual route south (Beregost, High Hedge). Saving Mellicamp...

Spoiler

... gained her the first and clearing the area around High Hedge the second level-up. At the temple Cattack and his hobgoblins endowed her with the next two level-ups (unfortunately only min hps on each level-up so far).

South of Beregost Road (getting the Boots of Stealth), Nashkell (ignoring Neira) and Nashkell Mines were her next stations. There Greywolf parted both with life and sword. Dyara went to Gibberling Mountain then getting the Ring of Fire Resistance and Samuel. Via Valley of the Tombs (to get the wand of monster sumoning), Durlag's Tower (just saying 'hello' to Erdane), Lonely Peaks (saving Arabelle, killing Ioin&Frieds, Arghain&Friends), Beregost (forget to kill the spiders), Coast Way (killing the caravan bandits and getting the belts from the ogre) she brought Samuel to Gellana Mirrorshade in the Temple of Wisdom.

At Beregost the spiders...

Spoiler

... and Karlat went down...

Spoiler

Dyara now felt strong enough to go for the wolves at the Temple area but trembeled a little bit when the whole pack charged her and the first attack was a (rolled 20) hit nearly cutting her HP to half. After quaffing some potions of healing and sumoning some help all the wolves went down without any further problems...

Spoiler

Korax was recruited only to fight Mutamin but the mad wizard attacked Korax right away with spells and tried to stay away from the ghoul. Didn't helped much as Mutamin killed Korax but got paralysed at the same time. There was a short moment of danger when Dyara then finished Korax's work as her protection from petrification wore off and the Greater Basilisk came into sight. Stepping back and renewing her protection she killed the Greater Basilisk.

Spoiler

Dyara: 43,341 XP, 141 kills, Greater Basilisk (7,000 XP), F5/M4/T5, 37/49 HP (still on min HP *sigh*)

Hey guys,

Im back. I decided to make a stalker/cleric (decided this before I heard Alesia was doing a ranger/cleric). Anyway I start a stalker. A short episode on BG1. It was one big disaster actually (but we pulled through).

Eren at the beginning. Love the art and rolled stats :o
Schermafdruk%202015-04-19%2018.42.58_zps

Started BG with the same small quests and Kivan and Edwin. Used wands to kill Mulahey and combo'd of fireballs necklaces and wands and potions to kill just about every encounter. Take in Coran later - I like 2 archers better than one :)

In the pirate cave a golem pummels kivan to death, nut chunked though.  Luckely coran could shoot them for xp.
Schermafdruk%202015-04-20%2008.23.10_zps

Damn the upgraded spiders are lethal.., the spit webs at you.. This could've ended my run right there, I was kinda pissed. Luckely we got the reasonably low hp critters before they could kill Edwin.
Schermafdruk%202015-04-20%2007.23.03_zps

We kill drasus and co with fireballs and Daeveorn with PFM scroll and fireball necklace.

At Sarevoks chosen 8 Edwin gets backstabbed for 42. I put Coran around the corner because he was near death because we hit him with our own fireballs..
Schermafdruk%202015-04-20%2009.36.32_zps

But while we kill of the remaining 8 after 6 fireballs, the enemy rogue somehow finds coran and chunks him but good..
Schermafdruk%202015-04-20%2009.40.17_zps

On top of that Eren gets fallen for killing Phandalyn. I forgot about that, DAAAMMNNN!!!
Schermafdruk%202015-04-20%2009.41.44_zps

We take Tiax for healing and opening the locks for tomes below candlekeep now that Coran is dead.

Very, very dangerous ogre mages again.
Schermafdruk%202015-04-20%2009.58.27_zps

Got through candlekeep invisible. Didnt bother with prat. Tried to kill Diarmid in the hope of not seeing him at the endbattle, turns out he is immortal (cant die).

We go straight for Slythe with level 4 spell summon spiders. Bye Tiax says Slythe
Schermafdruk%202015-04-20%2014.26.06_zps

At the ceremony I put spiders between the dopps and us and we kill the casters first. That works generally.
Belt got hostile because our confused spiders hit him, but he acts as a friendly still, killing foes and he still warped us to the thieves guild.

Schermafdruk%202015-04-20%2014.43.48_zps

The 5ve are still dangerous but doable by now. I basically shot everyone to death with PFM + buffs.
Schermafdruk%202015-04-20%2015.37.20_zps

Eren at the end of bg1
Schermafdruk%202015-04-20%2015.45.04_zps

Fallen stalker sounds awesome :)
But its way to weak so now I have to hurry to improved SCS shade lord to redeem myself to be able to dual at 9... :(. I should skip thaxxlsyllia then but I probably cant resist shadow dragon armor, crom feyr scroll and of course the challenge of the fight at level 8 lol.. :S

Read about that soon!

Cheers!

Awesome Golden! Love the portrait and the kit and the mess and the fallen status  B)
I planned to take a break after Scintilla, but feel like rolling a new badass warrior/thief type myself...

Btw it seems you like to speed through BG1, at the cost of XP. You could consider throwing out your party members a few times, agree to meet at an inn, and deal solo with the Basilisks in Muatamin's garden (careful with the Gnome), at Durlag's, in the BG docks and below Candlekeep, using green scrolls or the mage-cast lvl 1 spell. Basilisks alone are worth close to 50k GP.

Congrats, Golden! Take care of Eren in Amn. And on the note of running through BG in a single post...

Intro and final update for Delta, TN Human Kensai.

All told, this run took 13 hours from start to end, and that's not even accurate since I went to classes and did some homework in between. Anywho!

Screen%20Shot%202015-04-21%20at%209.44.4

You'll note the weird stat distribution and the (for me) atypical alignment. This was the optimal way I could think of to pull off something I've wanted to try, the Kensai/Druid dual-class. I'll be getting +2 Wisdom and +1 Charisma to qualify for the dual. It's probably strictly weaker than a Ranger/Cleric either dual or multi-class, but stuff like Kai plus the elemental transformations HLAs seemed fun. Plus, level 2 Druid spells are actually useful to Delta because Barkskin!  Had to roll a good 10 - 15 minutes to get something functional without 1-hit dying to Mind Flayers. Two pips are put into Daggers and for reasons that now escape me two in Quarterstaff. I think I wanted a Golem-killer in BG2 or something. Or Aule's staff from Ulgoth's beard.

All early-game quests are sped through without any problems, though Melicamp fails to transform back. Most everything is dealt with by throwing daggers, though one or two things are meleéd to death with the starting staff. Not the Basilisks though, obviously, as I'm still wary of them switching their gaze from Korax to myself. In Nashkel, Neira fails to get a spell off, and Delta takes a side-trip to the Gnoll fortress, not to save Minsc's witch, but to retrieve a certain tome from the xvart village there.  :P Screen%20Shot%202015-04-21%20at%201.07.1

The mines were cut through then, with Mulahey bugging out slightly as I attacked him before he got to talk to me. He kept repeating his first dialogue and didn't even go hostile, meaning I didn't have to fight my way out of a Skeleton/Kobold horde. I have no problems with this. Amazons dealt with with judicial application of fire, and Delta had enough gold to purchase the Dagger of Venom then, so he's basically fully equipped minus a few potions and tomes. Ankhegs give him level 7, and we won't get to level 8 until taking down the Cloakwood mines. In between were some non-eventful Sirines, bandit camps, and spiders.

Hareishan is killed by a trap Lightning bolt, a taste of things to come...  :D And the two Battle Horrors are kited and destroyed with the Necklace of Missiles. Daveaorn himself is taken down under the effects of a Potion of Magic Blocking. In Baldur's Gate, the quest for Marek and Lothander is started just so I can get the Book of Wisdom from the Lady's Hall; another potion of magic blocking was burnt here as Jalantha Mistmyr started a spell I couldn't identify and couldn't interrupt (it was only a Flame strike I would have easily survived.) Doppelgangers and Carrion Crawlers are killed, and finally Marek as well for the antidote and the 10k additional experience.

For the first time in awhile, I leave the top of the Iron Throne alone, investigating invisibly instead. Back at Candlekeep, we restock on Throwing knives just in case. I think I overdid it, though, as I bought 4,000 knives there.  We leave Rieltar be, and in the catacombs Delta retrieves the two tomes after buffing to 100% resistance in Fire and Electricity. Because I feel as though I might as well use my buffs, Delta also takes on Pratt's party, also using liberal amounts of fires. Only Pratt came to investigate, but he can't really hit Delta who's wearing Senses of the Cat and the Cloak of Mirroring, as well as running the Shield amulet for a lovely -9 AC vs Missiles. All his spells are interrupted by throwing daggers coming the other way.

Back in Baldur's Gate, Delta makes a beeline for Slythe after buffing up. It's not even close, and it's time to go to the Ducal palace. I'm always, always scared of this fight even in more-or-less Vanilla because the EE's don't actually allow you to see how injured non-hostile NPCs are, so guessing how close Belt is to death is always somewhat tricky. Delta personally kills 3 of the 6, I think, with 3 others killed by Flaming Fist and Belt. I check my inventories and my bags before going to the Undercity: it's a VERY good thing I did, since I found that I stored the two tomes from the catacombs in there, and hadn't read or even identified them at this point. After doing so, and finally gaining the Druid requirements, Delta goes invisibly through the Undercity...

The Sarevok battle was just plain weird. It usually goes Semaj ports in, I kill Semaj, and then the others fall one by one with Sarevok last. Sarevok follows me out this time though, and I can't break through Semaj's MI's. On top of this, a Web Trap and a Stinking Cloud trap are set off, neither of which can affect me since Delta's drunk a potion of magical protection. And I thought they couldn't affect Sarevok either, but he managed to fail a save vs Web, so I took the opportunity to poke him a couple times with my dagger, nothing really damaging. Semaj is still alive and casting spells, Cloudkill being his latest contribution to the chaos; poison immunity isn't one of the buffs I typically think of for the last fight, so it's dealing some damage whenever Delta passes through for kiting purposes. Angelo and Tarok join the fight, though I'm pretty sure Angelo attacked Semaj due to a bouncing Lightning bolt; I can't find him in any of the screenshots I took, but I recall seeing a notice from him in the log. I was starting to deal with Angelo when I see this:

Screen%20Shot%202015-04-22%20at%2012.22.

I scroll up through the log to find what happened.

Screen%20Shot%202015-04-22%20at%2012.22.

So for the first time in one of my runs, Sarevok is killed by friendly fire.  :D Delta will be moving into Amn with a party tomorrow. Or the day after. Just definitely not today.

Rifft - dwarf swashbuckler (update 3)

Rifft's no injury start came to an end when sneaking into the pirate cave.  I couldn't remember whether there were traps there in this installation or not, but did search for them - however, Rifft had put no skill points into find traps at that stage and obviously wasn't good enough to find this one.
Spoiler
I couldn't remember what the next trap was so, after healing up, he used a potion of invisibility in case he got held, though it was just a bit of spike damage.  He then successfully stealthed back out with the treasure.  However, despite his stealth and never having been in sight range of the nereids it appeared that they had become aware of him - possibly due to one of them having been killed by lightning?
Spoiler
Rifft used his potion of clarity to protect against the beguiling aura, but the nereid was getting lucky with its displacement and, though the nereid and its water weird couldn't see through invisibility, the nereid had the follow-me ability which made using stealth attacks much more difficult.  As a result, after Rifft was poisoned and blinded by venom spit for the 3rd time, he just ran away.

Stealth proved sufficient on its own to rob the ankhegs of their treasure on the way up to Ulgoth's Beard
Spoiler
- reporting to Farmer Brun took Rifft to level 6.  At Ulgoth's Beard he bought everything he wanted, despite wasting money when forgetting to put on Algernon's Cloak.

More running and shooting allowed him to pick up Meilum's bracers before he did a tour around the Sword Coast picking off encounters missed out before with a mixture of stealth attacks, crossbow bolts and traps.  Encounters of note included:
- attacking Teyngan & co.  The mage, Jemby, died of a stealth shot and a trap, but Teyngan took a potion of speed and chased Rifft.  Rifft didn't particularly fancy a melee contest with him so made use of his invisibility ring for the first time.
Spoiler
- the Doomsayer was immune to trap damage and started running around everywhere when backstabbed.  That made further stealth melee attacks very difficult so Rifft just left the area.
- back at the Lighthouse area stealth attacks succeeded on the nereid while protected by the Greenstone Amulet.
Spoiler
It's water weird was laboriously shot at 1 HP per time to prevent it using its drowning attack.
Spoiler
The sirines mainly died in traps - the first of them to go taking Rifft to level 7 -
Spoiler
while the golems died in stealth attacks.
Spoiler
-  a first use of the Necklace of Missiles persuaded Shoal to bring Ogre Droth out to play (in this installation she can be convinced not to kill someone when talking to them) - he fell to stealth attacks.
Spoiler
I was planning to attack Shoal again after talking to her, but she disappeared instantly.  The XP for that was still enough for level 8 though.  Rifft also killed the sirines in that area - constantly regenerating enemies near them made traps impractical so he meleed them with the Greenstone Amulet soaking up charming attempts.
Spoiler
- Bassilus was badly injured by several traps near the edge of the map and was hanging on at near death when he cast slay living and Rifft made a hasty exit.  Coming back on to the map at another point he found Bassilus had been healed.  Although the result of a bug that's not unreasonable, but it certainly wasn't fair when Bassilus was injured by another trap, but once again healed (and got a renewed spell book) as soon as he was outside sight range for an instant.  Rifft had 2 more pre-laid traps available and some missile fire (while remaining in sight) and a Necklace blast meant they nearly killed Bassilus.  He responded with a sanctuary, but that took effect too late to prevent a final (and fatal) crossbow bolt.
Spoiler

With the loot from that lot Rifft bought the Light Crossbow of Speed along with the Claw & Horn of Kazgaroth and some magical ammunition.  I think he's now bought everything of use to him prior to Baldur's Gate.

Wow.  Congrats Epsil0.  I can see that the taverns in Amn are going to be doing a roaring business this week :D.

Sarevok's saving throw of 1 means he will save against all unadjusted spell effects, but the -2 save vs web means he will fail that every now and then.  A fun way to kill him is to use malison and doom along with a bunch of webs to hold him in place while you cut holes in his armour ...
