I picked up most of the information about Odo when we went to see the tapestry and also Bayeux Cathedral. Well worth a visit. I also learned about that time what a nasty piece of work William was. Totally evil IMO. He burned all the villages and crops in the part of England where I live. One of my ancestors came over with him. :(

Woah.

I specifically continued on to level 4 with Evel in order to get the second enrage and it hasn't arrived. :(

Is this a bug as according to the script, I should have got another? :?

If so, what to do? Use Shadowkeeper to correct it?

I would like to know if it is a bug.

Interesting Alesia, your path has been somewhat similar to mine (I gave up my PhD work in the area of law /communication after one year, and after a few years of litigating I abandoned the legal profession altogether so that I could grow my hair again, shave infrequently, travel, live a humble lifestyle and teach what little I know in other parts of the world). Your university positions seem to have been more prestigious than mine though, what with most of the high profile universities being in the US and UK. Anyway I'll take my words back re: BG's poor animals, you "only" have an undergraduate in ecology :P
Good luck btw with Ariel!

Meanwhile, I've decided to follow Aasim's suggestion to give Teyl, my NE Halfling Strifeleader of Cyric/Thief, another shot at no-reload fame:

Spoiler
He's pretty much the same Teyl as he ever was.

Teyl, unlike his megalomanic and reckless gnomish counterpart Tiax, is a cunning, conniving and calculating figure. He isn't overtly evil or violent nor does he enjoy cruelty or the suffering of others just for the sake of it. He takes good care of his appearance and image, is generally polite to strangers and even willing to do "good" if he sees personal benefits that make his benevolence worthwhile. He has no reservations about making promises or accepting commitments he won't be likely to live up to, if such behavior serves his interests. In such situations Teyl tends to avoid outright lies though, preferring to rely on ambiguity or omission of information in order to manipulate reality in his favor, without having to fear that any blame is going to be pinned on him. His subtlety and seemingly mild manners may not make him a prototypical Cyricist, but his ways might well be the more effective, or so at least he believes. The presence of such guiding figures of unquestionable moral calibre as Tethoril, Imoen, the priests of Oghma and above all Gorion have given Teyl a sense of morality he might otherwise not have had, but unlike the people that surround him Teyl believes that everyone ought to look after their own interests. Teyl appreciates nature, female beauty, and art.Teyl isn't a physically imposing figure, even for a halfling. He makes up for this however with his wit, his knowledge of poisons, an affinity with trap setting, and the powers bestowed upon him by Cyric.

The only differences are that his traps are vanilla rather than Traps Revisions traps and that he doesn't own a nice black suit of Apprentice Shadow Armor (studded AC6, +5 HiS) because I couldn't find it in Shadowkeeper. It means he's likely to have to walk around in brown studded leather for much of the game, thanks to Item Randomisation. (Unless I try and make a custom suit of Apprentice Shadow Armor.)

The Strifeleader of Cyric kit:

STRIFELEADER OF CYRIC: Cyric (seer-ick) is a megalomaniacal deity with an immense following. One of the three greater powers of evil on Faerûn, he is petty and self-centered, and enjoys misleading individuals of all inclinations so that they perform acts that ruin their lives or so that they make fatal mistakes. He drinks the tears of disillusioned dreamers and broken-hearted lovers. He is not above an alliance with another deity as long as he thinks he can betray the other divine power and come out ahead.

Cyric's church is pledged to spread strife and work murder everywhere in order to make folk believe in and fear the Dark Sun. It supports cruel rulers and indulges in intrigue in such a way that the world won't be overrun by wars (and thus fall under the sway of Tempus). His church is often beset by internal feuds and backstabbing, but this conflict has decreased in recent years as Cyric has gained better control of himself and has consolidated the churches of the deities whose portfolios he took over.

Strifeleaders wear black and purple robes. Silver bands, the symbol of their enslavement to Cyric, are worn on their wrists. Strifeleaders of Cyric may be of Chaotic Neutral or any Evil alignment.

Abilities:
- Spiritual Weapon: Long Sword - 'Razor's Edge' once per day
Razor's Edge is the spiritual weapon of Strifeleaders of Cyric, and is wielded as if the caster had grand mastery in the weapon. The Razor's Edge is a regular weapon at levels 1-5, +1 at levels 6-10, +2 at 11-15, +3 at 16-20, +4 at 21-25, and +5 at levels 26 and above. The spiritual weapon lasts for one round per level of the caster, up to 20 rounds.
- May coat his weapon in poison once per day per 6 levels. Attacks made in the next round with that weapon will inject the poison into the target, dealing out 1 damage per second for 24 seconds (3 damage for the first 6 seconds). A saving throw vs. poison limits damage to 12 total.
- From level 7 can cast Dread Blast once per day
Fires a ray of negative energy that deals 4d8 damage +1/level (max +20) and confuses target for 1 round (save vs. spell at -2 to negate confusion)
- From level 9 can cast Chaos once per day, as fifth level mage spell of the same name
- From level 11 can cast Death Fog once per day, as sixth level mage spell of the same name
- From level 14 can cast Sphere of Chaos once per day, as seventh level mage spell of the same name

Sphere Access:
- Major access to the spheres of all, astral, charm, combat, guardian, healing, necromantic, summoning, sun, time, war, weather
- Minor access to the spheres of divination, elemental, numbers, protection
- No access to the spheres of animal, creation, chaos, law, plant, thought, travel, wards

Teyl's starting proficiencies are Darts and Clubs.
A year ago I had a blast with Teyl, but now I'm a more experienced no-reloader. Nevertheless I think that Item Randomisation, difficulty increasing mods, and the Strifeleader's limited spell access compensate for Teyl's poison weapon ability and his proficiency in darts (and possibly other 'thief weapons'). Also let's not forget I'm not a very successful no-reloader, so it's likely that I mess up somewhere anyway lol.png

Good luck with Teyl, Blackraven! It's cool that you, Grond0, I are all running rogues. I'd like to think of us as a team. If one of use makes it, I'll be happy. I hope it'll be 3/3. :)

Good hunting!

Best,

A.

Yes, 1 extra enrage for every ADDITIONAL 4 levels, thus you get enrages levels 5, 9, 13, etc.

Ariel, Halfling F/T: BG1 Update 2

Ariel has defeated Mulahey and cleared the Bandit Camp. She is now in Beregost resting and selling loot.

R_zpsjwyi38xf.jpg

In the Nahskel Mines, Ariel chose to stealth straight to Mulahey. An attempt was made to set a trap but Ariel, who has only 60 points in set traps, failed. Undaunted, she hit the shadows, donned her Ankeg Plate and moved in for a backstab. It landed but wasn't an insta-kill. Follow up melee blows ended the priest.

Reluctant to expend fireball charges, Ariel took the minions down in melee with the aid of the Wand of Sleep. She took some damage from criticals -and especially criticals from BG1 style elemental arrows- but she utimately prevailed in good health and kind spirits.

Spoiler

Ariel then visited the Feldepost where she met a surly mage with a skeevy voice. An opening trap sent him running for fear of his invisible foe. A backstab finished him.

Spoiler

Next, it was the Flesh Golem cave, where the Talon struck, even if the backs couldn't be stabbed. A Greenstone Amulet charge foiled the traps.

Spoiler

That was followed by the Ankheg Lair. Wearing her Ankheg Plate along with a Girdle of Bluntness, the Cloak of Displacement, and the Boots of Avoidance, the ankhegs could only land on criticals both ranged and in melee. A Protection from Acid scroll was used for added insurance.

Spoiler

In the lair, the Talon and an off hand ninja-to sufficed. But on the surface, the Wand of Sleep was used to mitigate critical risk from pairs.

Spoiler

Having reached level 6/6, It was time for the Bandit Camp. Ariel buffed with Protection from Fire (scroll), Potion of Fire Resistance, Potion of Mind Focusing, Potion of Frost Giant Strength, Potion of Regeneration, Shield Amulet, and the Greenstone Amulet. Despite the fire resistance buffs, Ariel had hoped to prevail with out using fireballs in the interest of conserving them for Davaeorn. Sadly though, Ariel's opening backstab was a dud. And when the mage went on the move under Mirror Image, Ariel felt compelled to use a Potion of Explosions.

Spoiler

Before dying, Venkt got off a Glitterdust. Ariel failed her save. Thankfully, the short duration of Glitterdust meant that that had little effect on Ariel's plans. The rest of the bandits were finished in melee.

Spoiler

Having already evaded the assassin parties, Ariel felt confident clearing the camp.  An opening backstab and follow up melee strikes killed Taugosz before he or his bandits could land a blow.

Spoiler

10_zpsgzhww192.jpg

Because of the Black Talon elites, a head on assault seemed inadvisable. Ariel chose to withdraw. And as she did, she discharged the Wand of Sleep. On by one, the lackeys fell asleep, leaving Ardenor Crush and the Black Talon elites on their own. Once seperated, they were killed in melee.

Spoiler

All that remained then was a chunk-a-thon, aided by the Wand of Sleep.

13_zpsliesnauo.jpg

Ariel may enter the Cloakwood tonight, but RL plans will probably interfere. Best of luck to all the challengers- especially Ariel's fellow rogues Dyna and Teyl! I'll see you tomorrow. :)

Best,

Hey everyone, thanks for your support for Teyl. Teyl is one of my personal favorites, and I'd love to succeed with him. But... Like I said before I'm too curious about my new BGEE setup and especially Dark Horizons, which is supposed to be very hard, to feel sufficiently focused for Teyl at the moment. Therefore I've decide to go for an EE-run first.

My question is whether Styn, my axewielding, Vhailor-voiced LN vigilante, can purge the Sword Coast of all evil.

In hindsight I might have to do part of the installing again (if I can be bothered), since I installed Dark Horizons after SCS, which means I believe, that SCS scripting doesn't apply to the Dark Horizons content.

Nice, efficient work Alesia, keep it up!

Ariel, Halfling F/T: BG1 Update 3

I got in a short session with Ariel, which should be her last of the evening. Not much was done: just Cloakwood Area 2, and Kirian's party. Nonetheless, Ariel picked up another level on the thief side.

Screen%20Shot%202015-04-27%20at%208.33.5

Ariel cleared Cloakwood Area 2 under Protection from Poison and Potion of Hill Giant Strength while wearing Dushai's Ring of Free Action. This was all done with backstabs and toe-to-toe melee.

The opening huge spiders and ettercaps were nixed while wearing Shadow Armor and the Girdle of Piercing. Two fell to backstabs. The rest fell to melee. Ariel took some damage here, forcing her to quaff two baby healers.

Against Centeol and he eight-legged freaks, Ariel went with her full plate, hoping to avoid further damage. This worked. An opening backstab killed Centeol.

Screen%20Shot%202015-04-27%20at%207.47.2

Before she died, Centeol asked Ariel to kill all of her spiders- at least that's what Ariel thought she heard. Ariel obliged. They were killed toe-to-toe. The SCS Sword Spiders have excellent movement rates and APRs, but they didn't have the THAC0 to hit Ariel.

Spoiler

(Btw Aasim, the Giant Spider webs worked fine here.)

The phase spiders were found to the south. No damage was taken here.

Spoiler

Before sallying forth to the Cloakwood Mines, Ariel decided to pick up the Golden Girdle. Ariel took some damage. A fall back trap had been set pre-battle, but it wasn't used ultimately. Ariel's opening backstab killed Kirian.

Spoiler

Kirian's cleric fell quickly to melee, making Ariel regret using a Greenstone Amulet charge (She has been profligate with charges this run: the amulet is almost tapped). Turning to Lindin, who had quaffed a Potion of Hill Giant Strength, Ariel found that he had the THAC0 to hit, even though Ariel was wearing her full plate. And since the Oil of Speed drinking Baerin had already landed a critical, it was time for Ariel to disengage, heal, and equip her new-found girdle.

Spoiler

No more damage was taken after that. Lindin and Baerin both fell to Ariel's scimitars.

Spoiler

Ariel may complete the Cloakwood mines later this evening. The person I'm meeting is about as reliable as a Chromatic Orb in ToB. If I do end up posting tonight, that means he has failed to follow through again- in which case he'll be downgraded to Color Spray: totally useless.

Good hunting everyone!

Wow. I knew Ariel would be a dangerous customer, but taking out Thaxy already is impressive :P.

He was asking for it- totally asking for it. He made a joke about lightning bolts. Ariel just had to swing by the Umar Hills and take him down. She couldn't wait.

Dyna - halfling swashbuckler (update 3)

For a change Dyna bypassed Drasus initially and sneaked down to find Davaeorn.  Stealth attacks round the wall killed the guard and she disarmed the traps.  She didn't have a scroll of magic protection so just alerted Davaeorn with a stealth shot before hiding and waiting for all the reinforcements to appear.  Despite having no speed advantage Dyna had no problems in using a series of stealth attacks to kill the battle horrors.
Spoiler

She checked on Davaeorn - yep, still there -
Spoiler
before lobbing in 3 potions of explosion.  That killed all but one of the guards to take her to level 9, but she again got just the 4 HPs.
Spoiler
Stealth attacks killed the last guard, though that was a bit more difficult with Davaeorn wandering around.  However, Dyna performed well to successfully continue with stealth attacks using arrows of cold to strip Davaeorn's stoneskins without him ever properly seeing her.  An arrow of biting then poisoned him to take him to near death.
Spoiler
He saved against 2 more of those before Dyna's stealth finally failed in a position where Davaeorn arrived to spot him.  Before he could begin a spell, however, one final arrow struck him.
Spoiler

Dyna killed the jelly with stealth attacks, even though she had no inventory space left, then flooded the mine.  She dodged the slave outside to avoid any reputation gain and enticed Drasus into a series of traps laid earlier in order to get his boots.  Disaster then struck when she rested.  Despite noting in my previous report the need to reduce reputation it appeared she hadn't got round to it (I think I didn't do it immediately in order to do a bit of shopping more cheaply and then forgot I hadn't done it :() and she got a second useless slow poison when resting.  That's going to make the early stages of BG2 significantly more difficult if she manages to get there.

A quick tour of the Sword Coast saw her reputation up to 20 and she bought remaining items that might be of use.  She also picked up the tome from Durlag's Tower and used her new movement advantage to quickly take down Meilum with stealth attacks.

She's just arrived in Baldur's Gate and should make quick progress from there.

Ariel, Halfling F/T: BG1 Update 4

r_zpsqvmn6r1r.jpg

Color Spray

Ariel has defeated Drasus and Davaeorn. These were both enjoyable fights. And they were undeniably F/T fights. They used a satisfying combination of Ariel's abiltites. Fun stuff.

Upon arriving at the mines, Ariel chunked the opening guards. She then stealthed by Drasus et al before chunk-stabbing the most unfortunate soul in Faerun: they guard who's posted by the back-stabbiest corner in the entire Trilogy.

2_zps3lows4yz.jpg

Ariel then made haste for the master -pausing only briefly to speak with Rill. Here's Ariel's inventory before the fight.

Spoiler

Ariel entered Davaeorn's lair in her full plate. This proved unnecessary when her opening backstab chunked the guard.

Spoiler

After donning her Shadow Armor, Ariel went straight for one of Davaeorn's battle horrors. An opening backstab brought him down to near death. A follow up melee hit finished him before he could land a blow.

Spoiler

6_zpswophlhrr.jpg

The second battle horror died like his friend: quick and without drawing Halfling blood. The horror. The horror!

Spoiler

Preferring to stay in the thick of the action, Ariel took on all comers- launching fireballs and swinging her blades. This was fun for Ariel. It probably wasn't fun for the guards.

10_zps5bwd9nyn.jpg

Eventually, only the master remained. His Mirror Images were stripped with Detect Illusions, then his Stoneskins were peeled with scimitars. Die insolent whelp.

11_zpsfhtlmrzq.jpg

Still running Protection from Magic and other buffs, Ariel spent a minimal amount of looting. She wanted to get to Drasus as soon as possible. En route, she layered in two more buffs: an Oil of Speed and a Potion of Absorption. An opening backstab killed Kysus. One down.

Spoiler

A follow up Potion of Firebreath targeted on Rezdan gave Ariel a good start on Drasus and his remaining companions.

13_zpszn3sapv7.jpg

Ariel then settled into toe-to-toe melee with Drasus. He landed one critical, but the damage was quickly healed by Ariel's Potion of Regeneration + Oil of Speed combination. Two down.

14_zpsppxkgk8b.jpg

Switching to her Golden Girdle, Ariel engaged Genthore. Three down.

Spoiler

Only Rezdan remained. Like Davaeorn, he saw his Mirror Images stripped by Detect Illusions...

Spoiler

and then saw nothing but blades. Fin!

17_zpsmfwwwtqp.jpg

On her way home, Ariel was ambushed by wyverns. Caught in her Shadow Armor, Ariel wasn't in the best position to fight this battle. Nonetheless, a Potion of Hill Giant Strength quaff allowed her to prevail with little damage.

Spoiler

Ariel is now at the Nashkel Carnival, chatting with a seller of exotic potions. Her next stop will be High Hedge, followed by the great city of Baldur's Gate.

Best,

A.

Sorry to hear about Dyna's Bhaalspawn powers, Grond0. I know you love horror. I hope that won't harm Dyna's chances.

Well she's survived BG1 - by the skin of her teeth.

Dyna - halfling swashbuckler (4th and final update)

Dyna picked up the tomes in the city in the process of killing Larze, Jalantha and Marek - taking her to level 10.  A welcome maximum of 8 HPs got her to 57 - just a whisker below average.

She also collected the Cloak of Balduran before sneaking into the Iron Throne and then returning to Candlekeep.  She used invisibility there to avoid any trouble while collecting the last 2 tomes.

Back in the city she trapped Slythe before moving on to the palace.
Spoiler
That battle didn't go to plan and Dyna had to show all her promised melee abilities to somehow pull out a victory.  The opening stages went well enough with her being buffed up and all the dopplegangers dispelled, although she was twice hit by backstabs from the assassin - addressed by using all 5 of the potions of extra-healing she had acquired on her journeys.
Spoiler
However, Belt and the guards performed really disappointingly.  I had expected them to be killing the badly wounded and near death dopplegangers, but I don't remember seeing them make a single hit on a doppleganger.  As a result all the dopplegangers were still alive when Belt died and Dyna had to switch to those attacking Liia rather than keep up the pressure on the mage - it didn't help that her buffs had been dispelled and the mage had taken advantage of that to produce a couple of lots of summons to join in the assault on Liia.

When Liia was poisoned by an ettercap things looked really bad and Dyna by that stage had taken her life in her hand by coming in to melee to try and distract opponents.  One attempted slow poison failed, but a second succeeded (I told you that Bhaal power would come in handy :D)
Spoiler
and she subsequently fitted in a CLW as well.
Spoiler
Meanwhile the enemies were being pared away and she had successfully got all the remaining ones to attack her.  That did mean that throughout this period she was in danger of dying - one of the ogre berserkers probably could have killed her with a normal hit, never mind a critical.  She had to keep in melee range of the ogre berserkers throughout as trying to inch away and drag them after her resulted in them switching to Liia.  However, her luck held and the berserkers failed to hit her at all.  The doppleganger mage did hit her once, but it was out of spells and was the last to fall.
Spoiler
That didn't end the danger though as a single hit from Sarevok on Liia would almost certainly have killed her.  Dyna therefore offered herself as a tempting target and was hit once before getting Sarevok to chase her until he teleported away.
Spoiler

After resting to heal she went invisibly through the maze and into the temple.  An invisibility potion dumped Sarevok along with Tazok, Semaj and Diarmid in a corner while Dyna went in search of Angelo.  Dispelling arrows got rid of his stoneskins quickly and, although he seemed to have boots of speed and dispelled Dyna's haste, she had no problem finishing him off.
Spoiler

Fireballs from the shadows killed Semaj and Tazok, but Diarmid needed a couple of acid arrows as well after the Necklace was tapped.  With Sarevok finally alone Dyna dragged him over to a pillar and used DUHM.  I thought one of those might be enough, but Sarevok just survived those stealth attacks - forcing Dyna to use her second DUHM to apply the coup de grace.
Spoiler

Here's her final record for BG1.

Looks like it was a blessing... :)  I'm glad Dyna passed through all the hurdles in Ducal Palace! Safe travels in Amn and may the Deep Brother be smiling on her kindly!

Keep rocking, Ariel! I love that rhythm!  ^_^

Yes, 1 extra enrage for every ADDITIONAL 4 levels, thus you get enrages levels 5, 9, 13, etc.

Shows how many berserkers I have run. If I had realised, I would have dualled at 3. :( Thanks for the info. :)

Looks like it is now time to visit the sirene.

Well I've got bad news and bad news.

The bad news is that my EE install seems to have a number of glitches: some mod items have banter excerpts instead of item descriptions, and Styn doesn't seem to get his first Bhaalpower. He's already rested various times (once even 13 days!) but nothing... This doesn't bode well for the remainder of my EE playthrough with him.

And the bad news is that Teyl has just fallen. He was going really well. He had just killed Drizzt with traps, and oils of speed + backstabs, but then the game seemed to screw him. He was hidden, witnessed Jemby (who had already been provoked) cast Monster Summoning I, which Teyl took as a sign to cast Hold Person on her, but immediately after she had cast MS I and before Teyl was finished casting, Jemby successfully cast Charm Person at Teyl. Looked like Jemby is an epic level mage with Improved Alacrity. I'm truly pissed off atm. The game is hard enough for me as it is, I really don't need this kind of crap to make it even harder. Maybe Jemby cast MS I at the end of her round, and Charm Person right at the beginning of a new round, if that's even possible? (I've never seen this before.) Either way very dubious, and still sufficiently annoying to make me hesitate whether I want to continue playing or take a break.

On a more positive note, congrats for Grond0, well-played!

Tough luck Blackraven.  I hope you find something enjoyable to do - whether BG or something else.

That round behaviour you describe is possible, although it would be relatively unusual for a fairly short-casting spell like monster summoning.  Effectively, once Jemby became aware of you he will start to experience personal combat rounds.  Mages will tend to cast spells at the start of each round, but that won't always be the case if they're doing something else at that time - for instance they might throw a dart at you first and hence begin casting part way through the round

Good hunting in Amn, Grond0!

The Duchal Palace fight was a thrill. It was cool to Slow Poison Bhaalspawn powers coming in handy.

Best,

@Blackraven. I'm sorry to hear that. I definitely know how you feel. After the install issues and engine quirks I encountered with Aria, I felt the same way.

If you're more frustrated then joyful, then a break makes sense. The whole point of being here is to have fun. If you do take a break, I hope it will be a short one. We love having you here. I know this is just one of your online homes, but you feel like part of the family now. We hope to see you soon.

He was hidden, witnessed Jemby (who had already been provoked) cast Monster Summoning I, which Teyl took as a sign to cast Hold Person on her, but immediately after she had cast MS I and before Teyl was finished casting, Jemby successfully cast Charm Person at Teyl.

What's the cast time on MSI in your game? The engine works as this:

If you cast a spell with CT=9,10 (longish) mage takes a whole round (6 seconds) to cast it. He can (this is legit, you can try yourself) cast the next spell the moment his new round begins (so it appears as if he has no pause in between casting.)

Hence, if MSI has a long CT; Hold Teyl wanted to cast has long, and Charm has short - it's legit. Unfortunately, I don't know casting times on vanilla installs.

SCS is very careful with this (AI must specifically be scripted to obey this rule, they don't obey it by default), each spell begins and ends with a timer of 6 seconds. When this time expires, mages are allowed another spell - not a moment too soon.

Anyhow -  when I feel burnt out, I take a break. Week, two, three - sooner or later, the will to play kicks in again (especially if you follow this threads). There's no need to push it in any case. GL further, whatever you decide.

Jemby hadn't been doing anything else (such as attacking), because Teyl was invisible to her. Still she might have started casting later in the round.

Casting time for MS I is only 4. I'll just assume that she cast it at the end of her round, so that her aura was clear right after it.

Anyway, rather than throwing my laptop out of the window or taking a break, I decided to continue my run with Alba,

Spoiler
who left Candlekeep two days ago but looked destined to be abandoned because I wasn't "feeling" her. (I still consider her an unlikely contender for godhood, much less versatile than a Cleric/Thief or a Cleric/Illusionist, but at least I didn't have to start from scratch with her. Besides, who knows, the tortoise wasn't likely to beat the hare either, and we all know what happened there.)

Well, she has just garnered some goodwill by avenging Teyl.

Spoiler
She did this btw after wasting an oil of speed in the Red Canyons, due to a misclick of mine, which made her decide to make the most out of the stuation by dealing with Bassilus and Zargal & Co.
Spoiler
and also after murdering Drizzt, who had severely injured her when she had demanded pay for helping him with his Gnoll-slaying business.
Spoiler
Seven traps plus two more, set when the first seven had been triggered, were followed by a lucky critical poisoned backstab.
Spoiler
It hadn't been her first time to be lucky by the way. There was the Ghast that had ambushed her. It had spawned right where she was standing, out of nowhere, and it hit her, but she had resisted its paralyzing touch despite having recently equipped the Claw of Kazgaroth.
Spoiler
There was the useful Ring of Energy in Nashkel (where one would normally find Ankheg armor). And there was Mutamin, who had somehow spotted her sneaking amidst his pet Basilisks. He could have removed her PfPetrification, but she had successfully interrupted the Mirror Imaged wizard, and later poisoned him.
Spoiler
Apart from realizing she was a lucky girl, Alba also felt very sad about the whole incident with Drizzt. Not only had she just slain the legendary (if avaricious) Drow Ranger, she couldn't even use his light, roguish armor that had looked tailor-made for her... She ended up selling the armor and two enchanted scimitars. The girl had around 40 grand (thanks to IFull Plate Mail +1 and Robe of Neutral Archmagi, amongst other finds, as Item Randomised drops), but she had almost nothing to spend it on. The Assassin would have liked a nice suit of Shadow Armor for example, but nowhere on the Sword Coast had she found one. She had to make do with a suit of enchanted Studded Leather armor (+2) she had taken off the corpse of a mouthy Amnish huntress she had slain in the Cloudpeaks. Thankfully at least she had been able to acquire some nice (mod-added) weaponry: Sound Defense (Short Sword +2, +1 bonus to AC and to Saves vs Death), and a returning Frost Dart +1 (+1 cold damage) that she liked to coat in poison to repeatedly poison foes such as Greywolf.
Spoiler
Alba hasn't pursued the plot yet, but that may soon change.
