Joining this challenge with Fiona, human inquisitor. I chose an inquisitor because she'll allow me to fight those pesky SCS mages without resorting to cheesy tactics (too much).
Fiona's stats:
St: 18/54

Cha:18
Proficiencies: two pips in two handed swords and two pips in crossbows.
Playing with a Big World Project Tactics install, which includes Baldurs Gate Trilogy and SCS. I will take the roleplaying somewhat seriously. That is: no association with evil companions, no thievery in Baldur's Gate (paladins don't steal) and no running off as fast as i can to some obscure corner of the map to get the 'Twohanded Sword That Kills Everything In One Hit' at first level. On the other hand, a bit of metagaming is unavoidable with tactical mods installed. I'll also (probably) be avoiding the Drizzt Saga mod and possibly some high-risk optional encounters. BWP reduces all xp and all monetary rewards by 50%, so that'll keep things a bit balanced too.
In the Candlekeep inn i pick up my pet wolf Haiass and buy myself a twohanded sword and leather armor. During the first few levels, Haiass is a decent enough tank which will allow me to mainly use my crossbow and avoid melee till i have a few more hitpoints.
I do the usual chores in Candlekeep and can (just) afford to buy a light crossbow and some bolts from the rewards.
After the ambush and Gorion's death, i hook up with Imoen. Imoen now has a Charming Rogue kit that improves her as an archer and gives her some low level enchantment spells as innate abilities. Since i get one hell of a thief right off the bat in SoA, i'll still dual her to mage at a relatively low level.
We travel north to the spot where we were ambushed last night and are attacked by two wild dogs who die before they even get to us. The assailants are gone. Imoen suggests we bury Gorion. Before doing that, i pick up two scrolls and a scroll case from his body. One of the scrolls warns that a wild mage has been seen near the walls of Candlekeep. As a side note: in fact he's a lvl 30 wild mage who can easily be beaten even at lvl 1, since sooner or later one of his spells will backfire and he'll turn himself into a squirrel or something. That may require a couple of reloads, though, so i decide to leave that for now.
We talk to two travelers who want to join us, but a Detect Evil shows they are evil, so i turn them down.
After talking to that annoying Gandalf -wannabe Elminster, we hug the west side of the map to avoid any encounters. When we travel to the FAI, we get ambushed by a group of ogrillons and bandit archers. Imoen immediately gets an arrow in the back, so i decide to run for it. Immy is badly wounded, so she pops a potion. Unfortunately she gets hit by a second arrow and is near death again. We make the exit just in time.
We rest and heal outside the inn. We talk to a girl who was robbed by hobgoblins and asks us to recover her ring, which supposedly is a family heirloom. . We travel to the north of the map where the hobgoblins can be found. Haiass tanks them, Immy and me take them down with ranged weapons. No one loses a single hitpoint.
I decide to leave Tarnesh for another day and head south to Nashkel. Taking the safe route, we reach Nashkel without incident. Upon crossing the bridge, Haiass automatically gains a level, making him a lot more durable.
Unfortunately, a bug kicks in and Oublek greets me like a long lost friend, while i've never met him before. Meaning i don't get the +1 rep for telling him i'm not Greywolf. Oh well. I act as a babysitter for two incredibly annoying children which gets me a little xp and a + 1 rep.
The mayor of Nashkell asks me to investigate the mines, since the ore has been tainted and some miners have gone missing.
When i cross the bridge to the south, i meet the most annoying person in Faerun (except for Anomen). Usually i decapitate him on the spot, but a paladin obviously can't kill people just because they're annoying. Imoen urges me to kill him (but makes no move to do it herself) and i must admit that i'm sorely tempted. When he finally buggers off, i get a little xp.
On the Nashkel carnival, i meet the bard Keiria Silverstring, who asks if she can join my group. I agree, a decision i'm pretty sure i won't regret since she's a lvl 5 bard with munchkin stats. She has a total of 98 stat points (Sarevok only has 95) and comes with some cool equipment. Ok, it's cheesy, but hey!, it's a no reload.
Since Immy starts to complain that she's tired, i decide to rest at the carnival and explore Beregost and Nashkel tomorrow.
