Some info and screenshots from a german pc mag

Some facts (don't know whether they are already known)
* decisions from DA:O carry over and shape the game world
* first part of the game plays during the same time frame as DA:O
* same combat system (although more dynamic? whatever that means)
* new combo system for melee and mage classes
* finishing moves for the mages
Some characters:
Bethany: mage sister of Hawke
Cassandra: inquisitor with interest in Hawke
Varric: dwarven friend of Hawke and narrator
Flemeth will reappear
Nothing really fancy and new.
One comment to the screenshots: Sorry Bioware but the graphcs so far really turn me off. The environment textures look totally dull without any detail. Weapons and armor of the Darkspawn? look ridiculous not the least bit intimidating. The main character looks like he is directly imported from Final Fantasy or some other Japanese RPG. I really hope that the final game will have a style similar to DA:O. I don't know how to phrase it, perhaps more traditional medieval style?

Also it doesn't say that Varric is Hawkes friend, but that he accompanied him/her on his journey. (Which probably makes him Hakwes friend -but also probably means that he is a joinable NPC)

Also, a part of me can't help squee at the thought of playing my usual mage with another mage as my sister. Sibling spell combos! W00t! (Yes, I'm that easy to please at times.

.... I'm curious to see if she becomes a staple or simply dies in Dragon Age 2's introductory sequences. If not, it will be interesting to see what kind of friendship she has and gradually develops with Hawke. I assume she would be a window into her/his past or what parts of her/his life are dealt with off screen in time skips.
Also, a part of me can't help squee at the thought of playing my usual mage with another mage as my sister. Sibling spell combos. W00t! (Yes, I'm that easy to please at times.)
In the article it says that she supports Hawke with fire magic. At least that does not sound as if she dies in the first seconds of the game.

But that's boring. Soo been there, done that. At least they're trying something new.
Thanks for the link. Translated the article and reading up on it now.

Sweet. Very very sweet.I hope she lasts past the obligatory tutorial segment. Seriously. I will be disappointed if they kill her off early on even if it's done as a heroic sacrifice. I'll understand it, but I'll be disappointed.
Yeah, an older sister companion would be great.
Thank you for the link Sir Karl.

Cool info about the characters. Hope the sister doesn't die, that's a bit of a cliche isn't it? I'd rather see something like the whole Delta/Eleanor dynamic from Bioshock 2 taken a step further... Your (kid?) sister follows her sibling's lead, and her behaviour changes accordingly. If you are cruel, she becomes more evil. If you are good, she too becomes more altruistic...

Okay, let's translate
Bethany: Hawkes Schwester ist eine Magierin und unterstützt ihren Bruder im Kampf mit Feuerzaubern.
(Hawkes sister is a mage and supports her brother with firespells while fighting)
Cassandra: Die Inquisitorin hat ein brennendes Interesse an den Helden taten Hawkes.
(The Inquisitor has a "burning" interest in the heroic deeds of Hawke) - On a related note, she's the black armored women in the concept art, and questings Varric about Hawke, at least that is told by some concept art subtitles. That way the story is told to bridge between chapters.
Varric: Der Zwerg hat Hawke auf seinen Reisen begleitet und ist einer der Erzähler in Dragon Age 2.
(The Dwarf accompanied Hawkes during his travels and is one of the narrators of Dragen Age 2.)

Joking, though I haven't seen those Screenshots, magic effects look cool this time. The graphics however don't, but since they will improve, I await more news

The info released so far is great and I'm fine with most of the changes, but I doubt that the decisions we carry over will have any real impact on the world. I'm sure it'll be like Mass Effect 2, though I hope to be surprised.
If Cassandra is the black-haired woman from the concept art, I certainly hope she's recruitable.
