Am i expecting some incest romance?

...that certainly would be more "song of ice and fire"-ish.
I highly doubt it though -considering how "dark and gritty" (emphasis on the quotation marks) DA:O turned out to be. BW still seems to shy away from truly dark / gray / controversial content. Pity.

Inquisitor? That sounds interesting. If there are Inquisitors in the game, I want to be one. >
I wonder if this is the Seeker from the concept art.

Seriously though, I think what will happen is Hawkes sister will not survive the intro area, and Flemeth will be there only to help them escape Lothering.. That's my guess.

Bethany: mage sister of Hawke
wow me and seagloom have different takes on this LOL. (i just hope there is some sort of tank at the begining or we'll ruff it out)
LOL! I was thinking the same thing--on one hand, two mage sisters means they can play off each other nicely (spell combos), but on the other hand, it might be redundant. That said, I trust that we won't be dropped into a situation where we'll need a tank and not get one. BW seems to know better than that, based on past experience.

a fan (shakes head) Regardless, the idea of having a 'Family' dynamic early in the game is just
so awesome; yes, it's been done before, but if one recalls, the relationship between the Hero and
Imoen in BG and it's sequels was some awesome stuff, at least to me, and it was great to have
a character that shared so much with you from before even the story began, it felt like you always
had someone there to support you without the sense that they were after something through you,
their just a Sibling, yes with thier own motivations and interests, but they are still willing to offer that
level of support to the Protaganist that only Family can. Hope BioWare uses that extensively and
doesn't kill her off less than an hour into the bloody story.
Was really excited to learn 'a bit' more about the new combo system for Mages. Though combos
(of a fashion) did occur in DA:O, they were notoriously difficult to pull off, especially in the console
versions. Hopefully, this time around we'll get a more intricate, dynamic system of chaining spells
together to really Bring the Rain.
Though not a great deal of info is given about the other subsequent characters, the concept art for
them alone looks pretty awesome, and already works to distance themselves from the companions
from DA:O & DA:A. Though I fully expect BioWare to stick to the classic Fantasy RPG party dynamic
of Rogues, Tanks, Healers, and so on (I hope) in look and tone these characters seem a huge leap
from Leli, Alistair, Orghren, and so forth.
Lastly, people need to get off the 'Hater-ade' wagon in regards to the screenshots. More than a few Gaming
and news sites have pointed out the the images are from 'Early Alpha' so to entertain the idea that these
shots represent the final look of the game is absurd. For those who feel the desire to do so, go back and look
for the first screen-shots and alpha grabs from Origin's first rumors and sneek peaks/ previews. Hell, I have
a Gamepro magazine from 2002 with early alpha and it doesn't even come "Close" to what we got in DA:O.
Yes, this game has seemingly a shorter development cycle than it's predessesor, but that doesn't mean
a thing. If these shots are Alpha as indicated, than taking them at face value is just a myopic thing to do.
Take a breath, wait, enjoy other details about the stories, character, and so on, but don't focus on the visuals
until at least less than a year from release.

You also get the hot female inquisitor as one of the main supporting roles (probably romance-able or whatever). I am too tired to explain why, but it should be clear to anyone with even the slightest critical mind that most games are made to fit males first, rather than females. The secondary supporting role always goes to some hot chick, (example Miranda) to entice male players. "Look, you can be this hot muscular guy and this babe will be here too!".
I'm not being critical of this bit of news, its the norm. I'm just pointing it out.

Uh, no need to get defensive. I'm a female myself, I just wasn't sure what specifically triggered your comment.
I will point out that we don't know yet what specific role the inquistor is playing. In ME2 Miranda was your second-in-command, in DA2, this inquistor is apparently trying to learn about you after you've made a name for yourself. As of now it seems like your first female sidekick is your own sister.

Eh, Cassandra's role is really unknown at this point, and is not necessarily what you think. Would you say that Ser Cauthrien fits the description of the "hot chick" in the secondary supporting role? I'd say not really at all, and yet she was revealed early in marketing for DA:O. Cassandra may be similar, a character who is seen, but doesn't interact with Hawke until nearly the end of the game, and then only to fight or argue with her.
And sisters are geared towards male players???
I just hope Bethany doesn't get killed off in the first five minutes.

We don't know what is the role of the Inquisitor/Seeker (I'm assuming this is the same character) or if she is even a companion.
You may be right about it (she is a companion and a romance option), but until we know for sure, we can only speculate. Just as we are speculating about the role of Hawke's sister.
EDIT: Ninja'd

Jesus Christ, as you yourself pointed out, those DAO screens surfaced 7 years before the game came out, the DA2 screens on the other hands 9 months, THAT DOES MEAN A THING, A HUGE THING!
Yes, graphics will improve but not by a huge amount.

Yes, and the Sacred Ashes trailer featured a female Warden. Oh, wait, it didn't. I don't want to debate it, its a fact that even the devs have admitted, that males make up the majority of the players and they are the first demographic they want to appeal to.
