Whachu talkin' bout Willis? If anything, they seem to be making the future in which the god child exists the only canon one by retconning the others.

How? We've been told that we import our Warden's decisions over into DA2.

Just like how my Warden was able to be imported to Awakening, yet the most important decision of all was simply ignored.

I don't see how making a game that focuses on the Warden and the effects of the DR would canonize the ending, and if it did why it would matter.  If your Warden did the US, their story ends there.  There is no sequel, no more story, in that universe.  I don't see how you could continue it/why you would want to, so why complain that continuing from the DR canonizes it?  Because it doesn't.  It's just, for the US, you're done.  You had a noble ending, and the world doesn't fall to wrack and ruin from your moment of weakness (or moment of defiance, be that your preference).  That's it.  All such vociferous complaining does is deprive the portion of the fanbase who did do the DR and found it a compelling story element from ever getting any resolution--whereas those who did the US have instant resolution.

I agree that it would be nice of Bioware to finish the story they started, but it seems highly unlikely at this point--I wouldn't hold out hope.

Why should there be no more story in the US universe? Sure, that particular Warden dies but there's reason why you couldn't continue in your world with another character. And do not make it seem to look like we're just there to make you miss future content, we just want to have both sides to have an equal piece of nothing.

There's also the possibility of sacrificing Alistair or Loghain which leaves the dark ritual unperformed and the warden unsacrificed, allowing for a continued story with the same Warden without there being any reason for a god child to exist.

I say lets wait for the movie, what ever happens in that is the official ending, if he does the ritual in that there is every chance to having it in the game, but if it doesnt can you really say it will be the biggest mistake of bioware? after all if they do canon the ending will it be that bad having a intresting storyline? I would think of it has starwars would the kid go to the darkside if so what would happen thats what i find appealing.

that character would be limited to being human or a half- elf or dwarf, which would ****** everyone off again.

If the devs knew then how popular the god child would become...they would have sat down and paid a lot of attention to developing the concept

They could surely make up a reason for the OGB's existence. Perhaps Morrigan tried the Dark Ritual with Riordan anyway regardless of how progressed his taint was without the GW's knowledge and suceeded. Then your choice remains unchanged, only the consequence (no sacrifice) and that would also explain their presence in Awakening. If I can think of one semi-viable (in my opinion) explanation, I'm sure the writing team who created these concepts and characters could make due.
