the german gamestar magazine released an article about dragon age with some new informations

the link to the 2 page articel:www.gamestar.de/specials/spiele/2316313/dragon_age_2_p1.html
(beware its german)

i will translate the new facts for you, but i´m lazy and my englisch is not the best...

story:
- decisions from dragon age will take over
- there will be some sort of save import from dragon age --> you can import xbox save games from dragon age origins to pc (they don´t say how it works but they suspect social network will take part in it)
- at the beginning it will play parallel to dragon age
- you will visit known places and decisions from dragon age will affect these parts to some point
- story will be told by different narrators through the game, these will be npcs or party members  throughout the game

one of them is the dwarf Varric (see link)
images.idgentertainment.de/images/idgwpgsgp/bdb/2119687/300x.jpg

the human woman in this pictor is an inquisitor and her name is
Cassandra, she has a great interest in the main character, why it does
not say

fights:
- for pc they will play like dragon age but they will have a more dynamic feel to them
- for xbox,... they want to adjust the fight system more to the possibilities of controlers
- you can choose your class
- finish moves for mages
- more combos for fighter classes
- adjustable spells ( they don´t say what this means)

revealed characters:

Bethany: Hawkes sister and a mage that will support him with fire magic
pic of her from the behind... www.gamestar.de/_misc/images/original.cfm

Cassandra: Inquisitor, has a great interest in Hawke

Varric: narrator of the story and will follow you through the game

Flemeth: flemeth will definitly appear again

Sir Karl released the information first, i was a little late... so the credits for first find go mainly to him an i hereby appoligize for the doublepost

Ecael linked the the Google translations of the gamestar web page in a post that follws, but i want to prvode it here : translate.google.com/translate

hmmm....it says more combos for fighter classes.

I'm hoping that Arcane Warrior Mages will have access to those fighter class combos once they choose the AW spec ( assuming specs are still in the game.....lol ).

I like the idea of have narrators, i assume its because if over time companions can die, and if on of the is the narrator it would need to switch, and you would here diffrent veiw points of people.

And a sister? thats awesome! good job Bioware.

I just want to know more about xbox combat, i want to know if i should switch or not

Hmm... Flemeth will appear again? I smell a sidequest to hunt down Morrigan, or Morrigan to hunt down Flemeth...

Hopefully you can kill your sister. I want as evil Hawke as possible so my Warden can kick his ass in DA 3! :P

Google translation: Google Translate
  • The decisions taken in Origins by the player will also affect his successor. The beginning of Dragon Age 2 even runs parallel to Dragon Age: Origins and shows already familiar scenes and events from a different perspective.
  • Anyone who has played Dragon Age: Origins on the Xbox 360 can, continue to Dragon Age 2 on the PC or PlayStation 3 with all the consequences intact. How exactly does Bioware still holds a secret, but we suspect that it may involve the profiles stored on the BioWare Social Network.
  • It tells the story of special companions to the new hero will take on his travels. The narrators take turns -- after all, the story is played over a period of 10 years.
  • In Dragon Age 2, the Mage will come to enjoy the cool of slow-motion finishing moves - previously reserved for melee classes.
  • Not only is there much more for melee combos, but even your Mage's spells can now be specialized and thus adapt to every possible combat situation.
  • Hawke: The male or female main character of Dragon Age 2 and leads the player through a 10-year history.
  • Bethany: Hawke's sister and Mage, she supports her brother (or sister?) with fire spells.
  • Cassandra: The Inquisitor with a burning interest in the exploiting Hawke.
  • Varric: The dwarf accompanying Hawke on his travels; he is the main narrator of Dragon Age 2.
  • Flemeth: The mighty shapeshifter and mother of Morrigan from Dragon Age: Origins is also in Dragon Age 2 again (with the party?)

About the adjustable spells, perhaps it's like the pen and paper version? So we will be able to invest a changeable quantity of mana in every spells we cast to obtain some different level of power?

However, i don't know so much about how it does work in the pen and paper .

The screenshot isn't any better than the last two. I really wish they'd drop the cheesy blood and gore in the game.

I'm glad Flemeth will return. I also like the idea of multiple narrators, or narrators that you meet in-game. One of the coolest parts in Mask of the Betrayer is hearing this really commanding, spooky sounding narrator at the beginning of the game (really set the tone for the whole game), then finding out it's Kelemvor at the end of the game.

Regarding importing of choices... I'm hopeful, but very skeptical. Likely we'll just get a line or two of different dialogue. The most damning flaw in BioWare's game is fake choice, and looking at their track record, I'm not sure how this is going to change.

Reading over that translation again, if they're really going for a multi-narrated storyline (one companion being your sister), then that's a rather brilliant use of fully voiced dialogue. You get to know much more about your main character Hawke and the choices you've made from their perspective while discerning your companions' habits and personalities in a way that doesn't require dialogue trees, dialogue wheels, or static character animations.

I am suspicious of why it's only found in a German magazine so far, however.

Is it not also in the Game informer?  I don't have the Game informer issue, so I don't know.
