I noticed something in the Game Informer article. *spoilers*

Not sure if this has been mentioned before, but in the article, it says that Flemeth is intrduced as a Dragon. She changes back into her human form, and approaches Hawke and the party. Her first words are "Well, well, what have we here?"

That's the same line Morrigan says when she approaches you in DA:O. I makes me wonder if its a hint that Flemeth isn't actually Flemeth, but rather Morrigan taking up the role of her mother.

It's just a thought that occurred while reading the article.

ooo i bet you nailed it... morrigan took on too much with the whole god-baby spell, and it left her weak... and flemeth was easily able to overpower and possess her... oooo juicy

I read it in the magazine. Can't really provide anything. Maybe someone else with the magazine could confirm it. It's the caption for the screenshot of the Dragon.
