ok i got dragon age:origins and it worked just fine the first day. the next day i couldnt use any skills or moves etc. and party members became uncooperational, which was bad because fighting had changed to click every time to attack, and i remember it being different before. my main trouble came when pressing new game. "unable to load module" was all i got from it. i installed the patch but that didnt help, all it did was get a stupid error message:

C:\\program files(x86)\\dragonage\\bin_ship\\daorigins.exe
the application has failed to start because its side-by-side configuration is incorrect. please see application event log for more detail.

i have no idea what this means but it really annoys me. i have reinstalled it about 8 times and all are the same. the only time it worked was the first day with first install. if anyone can help me i would highly appreciate it, otherwise i'll have to send it back

ok i got the patch to open the game now, but still have all the unable to load module and moves not working etc.

if you're getting a "side-by-side" error that means you messed up the Visual C++ and it sounds like you need to update your system Microsoft Update
